have you ever stopped to think about why you are here out of all the people in the world why do you have your unique gifts your specific life experiences and your opportunities what if I told you that you were chosen by God not by accident not randomly but intentionally selected by him for a purpose today I want to tell you this God has selected you and this isn't just a comforting thought it's a life-changing truth rooted in the Bible in Ephesians 1:45 the Bible says for he chose us in him before the creation of the
world to be holy and blameless in his sight in love he predestined us for adoption to sunship through Jesus Christ did you catch that before the world was even made God had already chosen you he knew your name he knew the struggles you would face he knew the talents you would have and more importantly he knew the purpose for which he created you you were never an afterthought in God's plan think about it before you were born before your parents were born God had a specific plan for your life he chose you to be part
of his kingdom to live out his will and to make an impact in this world and here's the amazing part God doesn't choose based on human standards in fact 1 Corinthians 1:27 says God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong God selects the ones the world might Overlook the imperfect the broken and those who feel unworthy why does he do this because when we realize we can't do it on our own we learn to rely on him your weaknesses don't
disqualify you from being chosen in fact they're precisely what God will use to display his strength through you let me give you an example think about someone you know who didn't seem qualified for their calling maybe they didn't have the best education or their past was full of mistakes yet God still called them he still used them in ways they never imagined perhaps you've heard of Rick Warren a pastor who started with a small church and a big Vision his book The purpose-driven Life went on to change millions of lives but before all that he
was just an ordinary Man full of doubts and uncertainties yet God selected him for something far greater than he could have imagined and the same goes for you now how does this apply to your life being chosen by God doesn't mean life will be easy just look at Moses god selected him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt but his journey was full of challenges being chosen by God means stepping into a life of Faith trusting that even in hard times God is working everything for your good ask yourself this what is God calling you
to do maybe you've been hesitant to step into something because you feel unqualified maybe you're afraid of failure or you've convinced yourself that someone else would be better suited but if God has selected you it's because he knows exactly what he's placed inside of you as Philippians 1:6 reminds us he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion you might still be asking why me the truth is you might never fully understand the depth of God's purpose for your life but you can trust that his plan is good Jeremiah 291
11 says for I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you hope in a future God's selection of you is not random it's intentional it's filled with love and your role in this world no matter how big or small is significant in his eyes so what now how do you respond to this truth that God has selected you first embrace it let go of of any doubts or insecurities that make you feel less than or unworthy God's love for you is
unconditional and his selection of you is based on his grace not your performance next seek his guidance pray and ask God to reveal the specific calling he has placed on your life Proverbs 356 says trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight finally finally act don't wait until you feel ready don't wait until you feel good enough step out in faith knowing that God has already equipped you with everything you need to fulfill his purpose
he has chosen you and now it's your turn to walk in that calling as we close let's pray together Lord we thank you for choosing us not because of anything we've done but because of your great love help us to embrace the purpose you've placed on our lives give us the courage to step into the calling you've prepared for us even when we feel unworthy or unsure guide us strengthen us and let your will be done in our lives in jesus' name we pray amen now as you go about your day think about this how
might your life change if you truly believe that God has chosen you for a greater purpose how will you live differently knowing that you are selected called and loved by the creator of the universe
