have you ever found yourself so caught up in the busyness of life that you didn't have time for the things that truly matter we rush from one task to another work family friends Hobbies but how often do we spare time for Jesus the one who gave everything for us today I want to talk about the importance of setting aside time for Jesus not as an obligation but as an essential part of living a fulfilling Christian life life is hectic and we all know that but in the midst of our chaos Jesus gently invites us saying
come to me all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest what if the peace we are desperately searching for is waiting for us in the moments we dedicate to him spending time with Jesus is more than just showing up on Sundays or saying a prayer at the dinner table it's about cultivating a real personal relationship with him think about the close relationships in your life whether it's with your spouse your parents or your best friends those relationships only grow when you spend time together when you listen and share your heart
Jesus desires the same from us he wants us to know him personally in Revelation he says behold I stand at the door and knock if anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come into him and eat with him and he with me Jesus is knocking not just at the door of our Sundays but at the door of our everyday lives he's asking for Fellowship for relationship for time spent together let me share a story think of a busy professional maybe someone like you or me every day is filled with meetings deadlines and
responsibilities there's hardly any time to breathe let alone spend intentional time with God and by the end of the day they feel exhausted not just physically but spiritually something's missing that emptiness is a reminder that our souls long for Jesus the only one who can fill the deepest voids in our hearts or consider a parent who's juggling children work and home life the demands never seem to stop and before they know it another day has gone by without a single moment set aside for God but the truth is Jesus is there in those small moments
too he's present in the quiet before the kids wake up he's with you during your commute he's with you in every moment waiting for you to invite him in let's take a look at the story of Mary and Martha from the Bible when Jesus visited their home home Martha was busy with preparations while Mary chose to sit at Jesus's feet and listen Martha complained to Jesus but he gently told her Martha Martha you are anxious and troubled about many things but one thing is necessary Mary has chosen the good portion which will not be taken
away from her Mary chose to spend time with Jesus to Simply Be In His presence Martha on the other hand was distracted by everything that needed to get done her intentions were good but she missed the chance to sit with the Savior how often do we find ourselves like Martha running from task to task while Jesus is offering us something far greater his presence his peace his love so how do we in our busy lives make time for Jesus it's not about adding one more thing to our to-do list it's about reordering our priorities letting
Jesus be the foundation of everything we do here are some practical ways we can spare time for Jesus first start your day with him even if it's just 5 to 10 minutes in the morning take time to pray to read a passage of scripture or to Simply meditate on God's word Psalm 1438 says let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love for I have put my trust in you second incorporate him into your day prayer isn't something that has to be done in specific moments it can be part of your daily Rhythm pray
while you're driving listen to worship music on your break or reflect on a Bible verse while you're walking or exercising third create sacred moments set aside intentional time to deepen your relationship with Jesus it could be through Bible study joining a small group or just sitting quietly listening for his voice remember it's not about checking off a religious box it's about connecting with the Living God and finally end your day with gratitude before you go to bed reflect on how God has been present in your life that day maybe it was through a conversation an
unexpected blessing or simply the strength to get through a tough situation whatever it is take a moment to thank him when we give Jesus our time we're not losing anything in fact we're gaining peace perspective and purpose Proverbs 16:3 reminds us commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established in a world that constantly demands our attention we have to be intentional about who and what we give our time to when we prioritize time with Jesus we Center our lives on his will the daily stresses don't disappear but they become more manageable
because we're not carrying them alone Jesus himself tells us in John 15:5 I am the vine you are the branches whoever abides in me and I in him he it is that bears much fruit for apart from me you can do nothing so I ask you today what's stopping you from sparing time for Jesus is it the distractions of the world or the busyness of Life Jesus isn't asking for Perfection he's asking for your heart he wants to walk with you through your daily struggles your victories and everything in between the time you spend with
him will never be wasted as you go about your day remember the invitation of Jesus but seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you when we seek Him First everything else begins to fall into place now as we close I encourage you to make a commitment today Spare some time for Jesus whether it's just a few minutes or an hour start building that habit of connecting with him daily and as you do watch how your relationship with him deepens how your burdens become lighter and how
your life takes on new meaning let's end in prayer Lord Jesus we thank you for always being near for inviting us into a relationship with you we ask for your help to quiet the distractions in our lives and to make time for you daily guide us Lord to seek your presence Above All Else and let our time with you transform our hearts and Minds in your precious name we pray amen now how will you make room for Jesus today let's reflect on this together and grow in our faith as a community thank you and God
bless
