welcome Ador when managing your project the same tasks may occur periodically for example weekly or monthly luckily Odo project app can help you save a lot of time about customizing your project so that you don't have to create a new recurring task every single time how amazing is that that is actually great because here at the Dinosaur Museum we're hosting fossil digging workshop for children every Saturday that's great but that also means that every week we have to deal with the same kind of preparation and honestly it's a little bit redundant FAL Diggy Workshop wow
that sounds so cool you should do one for adults as well but actually yes the recurring uh task feature is perfect for this so let me show you how to set this up so we don't have to create a new task every week all right so here we are in our database let's go ahead into the project module uh we will go right into configuration and settings and we will activate the recurring tasks feature let me just save this real quick and if we go ahead into one of our projects now here we have the
uh fossil digging Workshop task if I click on the task we'll see that next to the deadline I now have a new uh recurrent button showing up if I click on it it prompts me to uh select how often in what intervals I would like my task to be uh repeating itself so I'll set up the deadline uh which we are handling the workshop on Saturday so it will be Saturday Saturday the 18th for our first TK let's say at 2 p.m. that is great I will apply and actually by default the configuration is perfect
for what we need which is repeating once every week forever uh once the configuration is set up weekly the task will be recreated every day uh on the same sorry every week on the same weekday which is Saturday now if we chose something else for example months uh it would then be created on the same uh day of the month every time so that's just something to keep in mind let's keep it on weeks I will save this task and we see that we have one recurring task existing um if we um have completed our
fossil digging workshop for this week once we Mark the task as done or um cancelled we see that a new recurring task has been created if I click on it we'll take a look at the second task that we have in occurrence we see that the line has been automatically uh updated to the following Saturday but other than that everything about the task is pretty much the same so we have the same assignes the same title uh the same description um and so on so we can just pick it up and start working on it
that's super nice uh now what if due to weather conditions we have to cancel one of these workshops that's a great question actually actually so for uh the recurring tasks uh once one of the tasks in recurrence is marked as done or cancelled like it would be in your case this does not affect the recurrence so if we cancel this task you see that as soon as it was closed the next clask in recurrence was created anyway so we're assuming that you cancel this task but you will still be hosting the fil Workshop next week
now if we wanted to cancel the recurrence all together and say that we just canceled the fcil digging Workshop all together we would have to just click on the recurrent icon in the last task of the series save it and you see that the recurrent marked button disappeared and this task basically has been cancelled uh and as soon as the recurrence was broken no more tasks will be created in uh the order now something else that I would like to just bring uh to your attention is that uh the new recurring task I will um
set this up as recurring again let me say and so we have seen that once I must mark my previous task in recurrence as done or cancelled the next one will be created now let's say that we have the task uh for the F tiing Workshop but we forgot for some reason to cancel or Market as done in this case since the recurrence is still existing my new task in recurrence will be created when the deadline arrives so next Saturday even though this task would still remain open the next task will be created anyway so
that's just something that allows you to always always have your tasks ready even if by chance you forgot um to complete the previous one so that's it for using the recurring task feature in O do thank you so much for watching and we will see you in the next video
