hello everyone my name is Thomas and I'm currently studying natural language processing at the Gantt University I completed my master's degree in literature and Linguistics in 2022 at the same University and while I was writing my thesis I encountered several linguistic research questions involving artificial intelligence and natural language processing I was very much intrigued but I did not have the necessary knowledge or skills at that time to even attempt to tackle them at all so that's why I decided to follow the master of advanced Linguistics natural language processing of course first of all I I
chose this program because I'm interested in how computer technology can be used to understand and process human language but also because it would provide me with the necessary skill set to answer the questions I always ask myself when studying linguistics thanks to the program I had the opportunity to do an internship in a research team that uses artificial intelligence to study natural language this allowed me to learn a lot of new techniques and contribute to interesting research projects a challenge I faced during the internship was that it required me to apply the Knowledge and Skills
I had learned during the several courses to a real world setting because of course you can't learn everything about natural language processing in just two semesters believe me I tried so there's a lot more to discover after the program however thanks to the tools and knowledge provided by the course in NLP I felt confident in my ability to learn and adapt in a real research setting I am glad I did the internship because it was an incredibly valuable learning experience for me so if you're interested in how computers can be applied to language or Linguistics
research but you don't really know where to begin I think that this master of advanced Linguistics would be an excellent place to start your journey in NLP good luck
