[Music] Did you know that the Bible tells the story of a boy who was very generous and blessed a large crowd? Hi, this is Aunt Anabelle! And today we are going to see the story of the multiplication of five loaves and two little fish.
And that story is right there in the Bible in John chapter 6. But then, do you know what time it is now? Story time!
Jesus had been walking through different cities for some time now and teaching people about the kingdom of God. People liked what Jesus taught and followed Him wherever He went. One day, after having taught them many things, Jesus and the Disciples decided to take a break from the crowd to rest.
They climbed into a small boat and sailed to a place where there shouldn't be anyone. Some people saw Jesus and recognized him, soon they started calling other people. When Jesus' boat pulled up to the place that should have been quiet, He came face to face with a large crowd, there were more than 5,000 men, in addition to women and children waiting for Him.
All those people had been waiting for several hours to see Jesus arrive. Jesus saw that crowd and felt a great love for those people, because he saw that they really wanted to learn new things. They knew that when Jesus taught they understood what He meant.
That's why they loved to listen to the teachings of Jesus. On that day, Jesus spoke of the Kingdom of God and healed the sick. But it was already getting dark and it was almost dinner time, and people were already getting hungry, as many hadn't eaten anything in hours.
The disciples saw that the crowd was very large, so they warned Jesus and said: "Jesus, isn't it better to finish these teachings and send people home? Because they are already very hungry! " But Jesus replies that they themselves should see if there was anything to feed those people.
And He said, "We need to get something to eat. " Jesus already had everything planned, but even so, he wanted to hear the answer that Philip was going to give. The disciples were amazed, because how could they feed more than 5 thousand people.
And Felipe replied: "We don't have money to buy food for all these people! How are we going to do it? " That really seemed like an impossible mission!
Soon after, another disciple named André arrived saying: "Look what I found! Here is a boy who wants to help. He brought his lunch, a small basket with five loaves of bread and two small fish and he gave it to us to share.
But that won't work. not even give it to the beginning, because there are too many people here! " Time for Jesus to put his plan into action.
When He heard that, He ordered everyone to sit on the grass. Then Jesus took the loaves, thanked God for them and shared them with everyone, then took the fish, thanked them and divided them among the people in the same way. And do you know what happened?
As Jesus broke the loaves and fish they multiplied automatically, a true miracle! When there was enough He asked the disciples to put them in baskets and distribute them to the people. The loaves and fish did not run out until everyone had eaten.
And when everyone had finished eating, Jesus said, "Now gather up what's left, so that none of the food is spoiled. " And look how surprising, they collected 12 baskets with leftovers. Jesus is too much!
He always multiplies what we give from the heart! But do you know what we learned from this little story? History gives us a great example of generosity.
By his power, Jesus fed 5,000 people with just five loaves and two small fish. And He could have done it alone, but He planned this wonderful miracle with the help of that boy, who was a child just like you, who didn't have much to offer, and gave up what he had to bless other people. In the same way, Jesus wants to use us too to bless the lives of others.
We all have something to offer Jesus, our gifts, our intelligence, our vigor, our possessions, our time for example. Everything we have, little or much, when we give something from the heart, we never lose anything, on the contrary. God is faithful, and always rewards us.
Everything we do for God is not in vain! Let's pray? Lord Jesus, I want to learn to be generous and full of faith like the boy in the story.
All that I have is Yours and I want to be a giver to bless others and Your Kingdom. I believe that You can always work miracles when I give from my heart what I have. Amen!
