[Music] you call that a landing my grandmother could do better and she's just a pile of rocks Sergeant Gail barked through the comms eyeing the giant crater that now marred the once Green Field the alien craft sat at the bottom an enormous saucer-shaped vessel twisted and dented from what must have been the least graceful touchdown in history the military had been on high alert for weeks since unidentified objects were spotted orbiting Earth there were plenty of wild theories Rogue asteroids secret government projects or even Wayward satellites but the truth was Far stranger and funnier high
above the Invaders from a distant star system had concocted what they believed was the perfect plan Earth was by their assessment a gold mine of resources and poorly defended its gravity was a mild 1G nothing they couldn't handle or so they thought the ship had plunged through the atmosphere like a stone despite the crew's best efforts to maintain control its Shields had shattered the moment they hit the thermosphere and what followed was a series of increasingly frantic attempts to slow their descent as the dust settled Gail shook his head looks like gravity had other plans
for them he muttered glancing at the group of soldiers around him all right you lot let's go see what kind of squishy Invaders came to pay us a visit they approached cautiously weapons ready but not exactly tense to them the whole situation already felt like a joke one that they were about to be the punchline of the Craft's Hull was pitted and scarred bearing the marks of its brutal crash with a hissing groan a section of the ship split open creating a jagged ramp that crunched into the Earth from the darkness within a series of
shadowy figures emerged Sergeant Gail blinked then snorted they're wearing stilts the aliens tall and gangly stumbled forward awkwardly on Long mechanical EXO suits designed to augment their stature and as the humans soon realized helped them deal with Earth's gravitational force the suits wh and creaked Under The Strain betraying the fact that these Invaders had vastly underestimated just how heavy things could get down here Welcome To Earth Gail shouted waving a hand in mock Hospitality did you enjoy your fall the lead alien teetering precariously on his metal legs turned its bulbous head toward the sergeant its
voice translated through a buzzing device strapped to its neck came out as a warbled growl we demand your immediate surrender it stammered struggling to hold itself upright behind it the others swayed in their suits clearly fighting a battle just to stay vertical right Gail replied dryly let's see how that goes for you private Harris standing beside Gail couldn't suppress a laugh they're barely holding it together sir I think our gravity's kicking their butt buts that's what you get for skipping leg day another Soldier quipped eliciting a ripple of Chuckles among the ranks the aliens however
were dead serious one of them raised what appeared to be a weapon a Sleek metallic Rod that immediately began to Glow at its tip it would have been an impressive show of Force if it hadn't wobbled in the alien's grip the creature fighting to keep both its arm and the weapon aimed at the humans take cover Gail ordered but his voice carried more Amusement than concern he watched as the alien struggled then finally lost its battle with gravity its knees buckled and with a crunching thud it collapsed face first onto the ground the rod bouncing
harmlessly away the scene dissolved into chaos but not the kind the aliens had anticipated as more of them attempted to step forward their legs wobbled and buckled under the crushing force of Earth's gravity one by one they toppled arms flailing suits groaning as they hit the ground with heavy resounding thuds looks like we've got ourselves an invasion of toddlers learning to walk Harris remarked struggling to contain his laughter the lead alien still faed down in the dirt grumbled incoherently before raising its head you humans cheat it croaked your planet is cursed Gail stifled a laugh
and walked forward crouching down in front of the alien leader not cursed pal just a bit more intense than you expected he tapped the alien suit leg with the barrel of his rifle you guys really should have done your homework before dropping by Uninvited the alien now propped up on its elbows stared at the sergeant you will not Prevail we will adjust adjust huh Gail said standing up well while you're busy adjusting we'll be here not breaking a sweat he turned to his Squad all right boys let's round him up and be Al they're having
a rough day the soldiers moved in coring the defeated Invaders who despite their best efforts couldn't seem to find their balance the site was almost pitiful these supposed conquerors unable to even stand on their own two feet some of the aliens attempted to activate their weapons only for their hands to tremble and drop the devices with each feudal attempt you think they've got reinforcements coming Harris asked as they hurted the aliens into a makeshift holding area Hal scratched his chin thoughtfully if they do they'll probably end up the same way I mean look at them
he gestured to the Invaders now sitting in a sullen defeated line on the ground gravity's our best defense you can't invade a planet when you're too busy fighting to stand up straight the lead alien finally managed to sit up though it wobbled unsteadily we underestimated it admitted through gritted mandibles no kidding Gail replied Crossing his arms you see it's not just the gravity here it's the weather the terrain the critters everything on this planet is built to withstand some serious pressure and you you brought stilts to a tank fight the alien leader glared but remained
silent its bulbous eyes narrowing in a mixture of frustration and resignation the other aliens seemed equally demoralized their plans of invasion literally crushed by the one force they couldn't anticipate Earth's Relentless pull Harris leaned over to Gail Whispering so what now do we call it in not yet Gail replied smirking let's see if they have a plan B I'm curious how they'll handle say climbing a hill the soldiers chuckled casting glances at the sprawling forested mountains in the distance if the aliens thought Landing was hard navigating Earth's rugged terrain would be the real test the
aliens sat in a dejected line on the grassy field occasionally glancing up at the sky as if hoping for a miracle to whisk them away from Earth's crushing grip Sergeant Gail paced back and forth his eyes fixed on their captured guest he could almost feel the gears turning in their heads as they processed the situation these Invaders weren't giving up they were regrouping thinking and that's what worried him sir Harris spoke up approaching with a report in hand our Scouts did a quick Recon around the area it looks like their ships still operational but they're
not going anywhere fast engines are fried and uh their Landing left quite the impression he pointed to the sizable crater behind them where the alien craft had embedded itself into the Earth good keep an eye on them Gail replied not taking his eyes off the aliens they're plotting something I can feel it as if on Q the lead alien finally moved awkwardly shifting its weight to stand the wine of its exos suits Motors indicated how much the strain the Earth's gravity still exerted on its frame it wobbled but remained upright casting a look of defiance
toward the humans we have not surrendered it hiss through the translator the other aliens perked up a murmur of resolve passing through their ranks despite their initial defeat a fire still burned within them one that gravity alone couldn't quench Gail raised an eyebrow unimpressed all right tough guy what's next another clumsy attempt to take over the planet while you can barely stay on your feet the alien's eyes narrowed and it jabbed a spiny finger toward the nearby Hills there it said wheezing slightly test terrain we will adapt the sergeant smirked you sure about that climbing
those Hills is a challenge for even us and we're used to this place we will prevail the alien insisted though it swayed on its mechanical legs a few of its companions seemed ready to protest but they fell silent under its determined glare suit yourselves Gail replied shrugging we'll be right behind you in case you need a hand or a stretcher the aliens formed a shaky line their movements slow and laborious as they started toward the hills the humans followed maintaining a safe distance but staying close enough to intervene if things got out of hand Gail
had to admit he was curious about how far the aliens would go to prove themselves place your bets Harris Gail muttered as they walked how long before they collapse again Harris chuckled I'm giving them 10 minutes tops those Hills are Steep and they barely figured out how to walk on flat ground the ascent began with a gradual incline nothing too difficult for the humans who navigated the train with practiced ease but for the aliens it was a different story their exos suit struggled whining and clanking with each step still they pressed on their leader at
the front stumbling forward in what could only be described as a mix of stubbornness and pride why do they even bother private Kent whispered shaking his head you'd think they'd call it quits after their Crash Landing they're trying to save face Gail replied if they Retreat now they'll go back home in disgrace their society probably values determination or some nonsense it's like they'd rather fail spectacularly than admit defeat the hill grew steeper and the aliens progress slowed one of them tripped crashing onto its knees with a thud it struggled to rise but its limbs trembled
violently betraying the suit's limits Gail watched half expecting the rest of the group to abandon their fallen comrade but to his surprise two others stopped to help it up well I'll be Harris remarked looks like theyve got some Spirit or they're desperate Gail said said though he couldn't hide a hint of admiration either way they're not giving up makes you wonder how they even thought invading Earth was a good idea in the first place the lead alien paused turning to glance back at Gail you think us foolish it gasped struggling for breath but we learn
adapt evolve Gail crossed his arms maintaining his distance learn all you want but Earth doesn't play fair you're not dealing with just us humans you're up against everything this planet throws at you gravity is just the start the alien nodded or at least attempted to its movements were sluggish and it looked on the verge of collapsing yet it resumed its climb planting One Foot In Front of the other with an almost Mechanical Rhythm behind it the others followed their progress slow but steady they're actually doing it Kent murmured in disbelief they're not fast but they're
still still moving Gail felt a twinge of respect though he'd never admit it out loud we'll see how long they last he muttered but inside he knew the aliens had a point they were adapting little by little to Earth's punishing environment The Climb dragged on in the minutes tick by 10 then 15 then 20 Harris had already lost his bet and now the humans were watching in silent awe as the aliens continued their Ascent the suits creaked under the strain and the alien's breaths came out in labored Huffs but they didn't stop finally the lead
alien reached a plateau collapsing onto its hands and knees it heaved for air its body trembling from the exertion slowly it raised its head locking eyes with Gail we can endure it managed to say its voice weak but filled with a flicker of resolve Gail approached cautiously standing over the exhausted invader all right he said Crossing his arms you made it this far but let me ask you something what's your end game here even if you adapt what makes you think you can take over a whole planet like this the alien didn't respond immediately it
took several deep breaths Gathering what little strength it had left not take over it rasped survive coexist learn your strength and find ours Gail blinked taken a back he had expected bravado Defiance maybe another threat but this this was different he exchanged a glance with Harris who looked equally surprised coexist huh Gail muttered his tone skeptical but laced with curiosity so you're saying this invasion was just a test run the alien nodded sagging onto the ground completely spent adapt or perish it whispered your world unforgiving but we will adapt Gail squatted down looking the alien
in the eye we'll see about that he said for now rest up you're going to need it for what's coming next the aliens lay scattered across the plateau gasping for air and desperately trying to recover from the grueling climb Sergeant Gail stood a short distance away arms crossed watching them intently he could s the tension in his Squad as they observed the Alien Invaders in their exhausted State there was a strange kind of respect growing among the humans though none of them dared to voice it what's our next move sir Harris asked quietly his eyes
still fixed on the alien leader who was now propped up against a rock barely conscious Gail mulled over the question these aliens weren't what he had expected they had started this operation intending to conquer Earth but now beaten down by by its Relentless gravity they spoke of coexistence but talk was cheap actions would reveal their true intentions we'll push them further Gail said finally his eyes narrowing as he considered their surroundings if they want to adapt we'll give them the full Earth experience let's see if theyve got the grit to handle the next test Harris
raised an eyebrow what do you have in mind sir Gail smirked the valley down there he pointed to a steep decline leading into a dense forest they'll need to go down cross through the forest and reach that River on the other side it's a rugged terrain thick undergrowth and slippery rocks if they're serious about this coexistence idea they'll find a way to manage it the squad exchanged uncertain glances but there was an underlying excitement in their eyes Gail's plan wasn't just to break the aliens it was to truly test their resolve if they could endure
this maybe there was a chance for some something other than conflict Gail approached the alien leader who managed to look up with its tired glassy eyes all right here's the deal Gail said crouching down to meet its gaze you want to learn adapt coexist fine but you need to prove it down this hill through that forest and over to the river no shortcuts if you can do that then maybe we can talk about something other than you crashing and burning here the alien leader struggled to its feet its exos suit groaning in protest we except
it rasped though its eyes betrayed a flicker of fear behind it the other aliens stirred glancing wearily at the forest Below Good Gail nodded stepping back your move the aliens lined up at the edge of the plateau looking down at the steep slope with a faint hum their suits adjusted compensating for the incline slowly they began their descent moving with exaggerated caution Gail and his Squad followed at a distance keeping a close eye on their alien counterparts the slope was treacherous littered with loose rocks and Slick patches of mud it wasn't long before the first
alien slipped its legs skidding out from under it it tumbled halfway down sparks flying from its suit as it tried to break its fall the others paused glancing back at their fallen comrade but the leader motioned for them to continue keep going it barked its voice strained but commanding with a grunt the Fallen alien struggled back to its feet and resumed its descent battered but not broken they're really giving it their all Harris muttered unable to hide a surprise didn't think they'd make it this far they're stubborn I'll give them that Gail replied though his
voice was less harsh than before he couldn't deny that their persistence was impressive they were pushing their limits adapting bit by bit to the the harsh realities of Earth's gravity the aliens reached the bottom of the slope panning and leaning heavily on each other for support they turned their eyes toward the forest where dense vegetation promised a new set of challenges without hesitation the leader took the first step into the undergrowth the others following close behind the forest was unforgiving Vines Tangled around their legs branches whipped at their faces and Roots threatened to trip them
at every step the aliens moved slowly methodically learning to navigate the terrain occasionally one would stumble catching itself just before falling despite the setbacks they pressed forward sweat dripping from their faces as they maneuvered through the natural obstacle course hours passed and the squad trailed them silently Gail's expression unreadable the forest grew thicker the ground more uneven the aliens were visibly struggling their suits creaking Under The Strain but they didn't stop at last pass the sound of Rushing Water echoed through the trees the river came into view its surface sparkling under the sunlight the aliens
paused at its Edge eyes widening in both relief and fear the river was the final barrier well looks like they made it this far Harris remarked wiping sweat from his own brow but can they cross it the alien leader stepped forward looking back at its team together it wheezed slowly cautiously it waited into into the river the Water Rising up to its knees the others followed their steps hesitant but determined for a moment it seemed as though they might be swept away the current tugged at their legs their suits groaning as they fought to maintain
balance but inch by inch they made their way across gripping each other for support Gail watched arms crossed as they finally reached the Far Bank collapsing onto the ground in sheer exhaustion they had done it they had endured Earth's challenge es one grueling step at a time the sergeant approached standing over the leader who lay gasping on the ground all right Gail said his voice softer than before you've proven your point you're not just here to take you're here to learn that's a start the alien turned its head looking up at him with eyes that
gleamed with both exhaustion and something else hope we wish to coexist it managed to say its voice barely a whisper Gail nodded extending a hand to the alien then let's start fresh we'll figure this out together but remember gravity's always going to be against you here you'll have to keep adapting every day the alien hesitated for a moment before reaching out gripping Gail's hand with a surprising strength we will as Gail helped it to its feet he couldn't help but feel a strange sense of camaraderie maybe they had a long road ahead but for now
Earth had given them a brutal lesson in humility and it was one they seemed willing to learn from
