or not now this is actually my fourth video on this topic as my last one was 3 months ago but a lot has changed since then we're now in 2025 so I thought what a better time to make an updated video on is Chad GPT plus worth it or not in 2025 we have a brand new subscription tier called chat GPT Pro we have new features advanced voice mode we have Sora in the mix now and so that's what I'm going to link for this below this video but now let's get back to the topic of is chat GPT plus worth it in 2025 so my short answer to this question is an overwhelming yes I still can't believe chat GPT plus only cost $20 a month as open aai hasn't raised this price since they first released this product a few years ago and for me this has been one of the best investments I've ever made in my life now I understand my situation is different than probably many of you watching this I'm an entrepreneur right I run this AI YouTube channel I run a marketing agency so I'm literally using chat GPT plus every single day for ideation creating content repurposing content and many other things and notice how I'm referring to chat chpt plus as an investment even if you're a beginner or an average user to this tool there is no excuse in my opinion of how you can't beginning an Roi off of only $20 a month for one of the most powerful tools that we have access to in our generation and it's not some cost or sunk expense right where we're lighting $20 on fire every single month this isn't Netflix or a streaming service again even if you know the very Basics you should be getting an Roi off of this powerful tool so now I want to talk about the features that are included in a subscription to chat GPT plus including my favorites and fingers crossed that open AI doesn't change this by the time I published this video so to check what features you get in chat GPT plus there's a few ways to do that even on the free version you can come up and click your profile icon click upgrade plan and this will bring you to the upgrade plan menu between Pro and plus you can also visit open ai's website and hover over products and then click pricing under chat GPT this gives you more details about teams or Enterprise plans I'm not going to discuss that in this video this is mostly catered towards individuals looking to upgrade to chat GPT plus so right here we have the three different tiers for individuals we have have the free version plus and then also Pro I did make a video when Chad GPT Pro came out the $200 a month plan I will leave that and everything else that's relevant in the video description below so you guys can check that out but when it comes to chat GPT plus of course you're going to get everything included in the free version now what's the difference between this and the free version well these are some of the items right here and so number one is higher usage limits especially for gp40 so on the free version you have very limited access to CHP t40 which is one of open ai's best models right now for creativity writing and just general use now you also get more uh usage for file uploads so the vision capability you get Advanced Data analysis and then also Dolly 3 image generation you do get some images on the free version but it's like five a day it's nothing significant so if you do generate a lot of images with Chad GPT that might be something worth upgrading right there you also get standard and advanced voice mode that is a feature that you do not get on the free version right and I do find myself using this especially when I'm driving in the car taking a walk I'll open up advanced voice mode if I have ideas rolling through my head and I just want to get them down and check later on chat GPT that's a great use case for it you also get limited access to one of chat gpt's newest models called 01 it now is out of 01 preview officially this is their Advanced model for reasoning and also 01 mini which is the cheaper version of just regular 01 there's also opportunities to test new features and then you also get to create custom gpts that right there is probably the biggest selling point for me if I go back to my chat GPT Plus account you'll notice right here on the Le hand side there's probably other users if you're watching this that have more custom gpts than I do but I love building custom gpts especially for specific use cases whether it's repurposing video to blogs whether it's repurposing video to email newsletters whether it's resps spinning news articles uh whether it's a a client custom GPT trying to write content in a certain client's tone podcast GPT YouTube video optimization GPT right the really the opportunities for using custom gpts is endless and even on the free version you can technically use custom gpts you just don't have the option up here to create them and I would recommend creating your own versus relying on what others in the community are creating in the GPT store now the last chat GPT plus feature I want to talk about is Sora and this is open ai's new AI video model that was released towards the end of 2024 as part of their 12 days of open AI series now there's a lot of hype surrounding Sora but the issue here even if you're a plus subscriber you do get access to it but the usage is not good at all if I come over to my profile icon here and click my plan as a user of chat GPT plus you only get a Max video duration of 5 Seconds you only get max resolution of 720p and you only get one Max concurrent generation so that's the number of generations that you you can produce or have cued at the same time and if I click manage plan you'll see the difference here between chat GPT plus and Chad GPT Pro so if you're trying to get Chad GPT plus just to access Sora you're going to be very disappointed you need a subscription to Chad GPT Pro for $200 a month if you want to get the full access of Sora and actually use all of its capabilities I also want to Circle back to another important feature of Chad GPT plus which is access to their 01 model if you're on the free version you do not have access to this model at all and again it is now officially out of preview mode but you still get limited access even on the plus version if you're on the pro version I want to say it's unlimited access to 01 I could be wrong on that but then you have access to 01 Pro mode which is a more advanced model I won't get into in this video but regardless you do get access to 01 as a plus subscriber now they do have all this information on open ai's website about what 01 is what it can do some of the benchmarks but my consensus here really is this if you're doing anything related to coding development science math engineering 01 might be worth it for you to subscribe to Plus for only $20 a month for me I rarely use 01 right I mostly use gp40 and Claude 3. 5 sonnet for writing uh other forms of content creation repurposing ideation things like that so 01 doesn't really make a lot of sense for me to use but for some people in those fields that I just mentioned maybe it's worth it to you to subscribe for chat GPT plus now let's say you don't want to subscribe to chat GPT plus and that's completely okay you're not going to hurt my feelings I have no incentive to promote them I just use them every single day I'm going to show you some Alternatives here both paid and free that you can use instead of chat GPT plus and number one is Claude Claude you can start using for free just signing up with a free account you can also get Claude Pro if you really like it for $20 a month same price as Chad GPT plus this gets you access to what are called Claude projects chat GPT also has a version of projects but really in my opinion the main selling point for Claude or Claude Pro is access to Claude 3. 5 Sonet this in my opinion is arguably one of the best models right now for writing creativity it just sounds more empathe athetic sounds more realistic like a human wrote it if you're using Claude 3.
5 Sonet versus open AI models when it comes to writing or content creation give it a try and I want to know your thoughts in the comments but from a lot of people I talk to there still is a lot of praise for Claude 3. 5 Sonet and of course another alternative is Google Gemini now they just had a big update to Gemini 2. 0 you can start using it for free they also have a paid $20 a month version that comes with more features I'm going to be honest with you guys I've just never been the biggest fan of Google Gemini even with its latest updates I've always preferred using Claude 3.
5 Sonet even CH t40 I found has had better outputs for what I'm trying to accomplish now another thing I want to show you is that some people probably didn't even know about this you can go to What's called the Google AI studio and on the right hand side you can start testing some of these newer Gemini 2. 0 models for free now the limit the usage limit is probably low I haven't done this in depth yet but you can start using some of these more advanced uh AI models that Google is coming out with so that's just something cool you guys can explore I'll leave this in the description below if you want to check it out but that is another alternative to Chad gbt plus is Google Gemini now another alternative worth mentioning is perplexity and this is an AI powered search engine who are trying to compete with the likes of Google you can start using this for free and they do also have a complexity Pro option that costs $20 a month just like the rest of the premium AI options out there but what's really cool about perplexity is let's say you're big to research right this might be worth the upgrade to you for $20 a month I have a full video explaining is perplexity Pro worth it or not you can find that in the video description below but one thing I really like and this is even free to create are what are called perplexity spaces right so think uh Claud projects Chad GPT projects custom gpts something like that you can do something similar here inside perplexity giving it custom instructions what's also cool is on on the pro version you can choose between different AI models to use for your perplexity space and again you have to be on the pro to do that you can also upload sources here and then you can perform various tasks using this perplexity space I have a full video explaining this in more detail you can find in the description below but again this is another viable alternative to chat GPT plus is perplexity now I'm going to quickly show you a few other free llms or large language models that you can use if you don't want to pay $20 a month and the first one here is deep seek this is brand new this came out about a month ago owned and operated by a Chinese AI company and it's getting a lot of Praise online and this is also Open Source by the way similar to llama which is owned by meta and so with deep seek they provide access to what's called this deep think now I'm not saying that this is better than open ai's 01 model but it still is a free way or a free model to start using for reasoning and things of that nature they also have a search capability similar to what search GPT can do so that's one you can explore for free is deep seek another one quickly here is called mistl this is more of an uncensored free llm that you can start using I want to say they're based in France somewhere in Europe um you can generate images you can do a web search similar to search GPT they have a canvas mode just like Chad GPT has a canvas mode being honest I haven't used mistol in a while I'm just providing you with as many free options that are good quality as possible and when it comes to AI images some are actually unaware that you can use Dolly 3 for free with this tool called the Microsoft Bing image Creator I've mentioned this tool a lot on my channel in several videos but if that's a reason of why you might subscribe to Chad GPT Plus for $20 I would check out the Microsoft B image Creator first where you can access Dolly 3 right away now you do have limited credits but this still is a free option another great free option is called cgd dream. the reason I like this one is it's a free way to access flux one now flux one is the AI image model that powers the image generation on grock that went viral a while ago I do like flux one so CG dream is a great way to access that you can also access meta AI their image model is called imagine with meta AI you can access this for free with a Facebook or an Instagram account um and this has actually come a long way I think these Generations that meta is doing with its AI image fine-tuning are getting better by the day and when it comes to a i video if you don't want to pay $20 a month to get limited access to Sora you can look at a tool like Runway Runway ml.
