authority bias takes place when you give greater weight to someone's opinion just because that person is in a position of authority now that authority figure greatly influences an individual's perspective and beliefs on a given matter think of this when you're buying toothpaste but human nature we're more likely to choose a toothpaste that's recommended by nine out of ten dentists than one we simply just find in the store even though both products are made by pharmaceutical companies we choose the one that's recommended by dentists because of their education and experience this makes their opinion more viable
honestly i get affected by this bias but hey what do i know
