every AI platform is coming out with deep research making finding information easier than ever and Gro 3 has just released what might be the most powerful one yet and that got me thinking how does it compare to the free perplexity tool or the leaders of the market Gemini and Chad GPT so today we'll be putting them head-to-head to see which deep research tool is the fastest cheapest finds the most amount of sources and gives us the best results let's see who wins the crown so to see which platform performs best will be asking them the
same research question and scoring them in real time starting with the newcomer Gro so the best thing about Gro is that we get about six free deep research queries a day and if we wanted to upgrade to unlimited ones we'll have to pay $30 per month which I think is a pretty decent price so all you have to do is go to grock pick the grock 3 beta model and don't forget to activate the Deep research button here you're just going to enter whatever you want to research I'll be asking all of my platforms the
same question to find 20 best free AI TOs and we're just going to click send as you can see it already starts thinking clarifying the requests and looking through the resources which is going to keep this here while we go out and check Gemini so with Gemini you need to be on the advanced plan to access deep research it's about $20 a month for unlimited queries and all you have to do to access it is click on the Gemini Advance here and pick the 1.5 Pro with de preset this is not the newest model but
it performs pretty well which is going to enter our query which is to find 20 best free AI tools and the thing I love most about Gemini deep research is that it first gives us a detailed plan before it starts the research so as you can see it's first going to review articles and blog post and then it's just going to check websites that list and review free AI SS I can edit this plan at any time perhaps to add more steps or leave some instructions and just click Start research we're just going to keep
this on the screen the grock research is finished by the way and I'll show you all the results at the end of this video and right now we're going to go and check out perplexity deep research the perplexity was the first one to release deep research for free and we get access to unlimited queries on the free plan and if you want to upgrade and get unlimited ones it will be just like Gemini for $20 a month so all we have to do is go to perplexity click and choose uh the Deep research model right
here and enter query which is going to be the same one to find 20 best free AR tools what I love about perplexity is that we get a detailed plan and we can see how the model is thinking so we're just going to leave this on the screen while we quickly have a chat about Chad GPT I'm officially disqualifying Chad GPT from this race they announced deep research on the 2nd of February and it's still only available on the Pro Plan for $200 a month which is a complete rip off and I just don't think
it would be useful to you guys because our free AI tools are just as is good you can access deep research for free on the spaces in hugging face but it's quite buggy it doesn't really work as well so let's go ahead and compare the final results of our three contestants all of our AI tools have finished their research and it's time to see the results starting with speed Gro performed fastest it took it only about 1 minute and 48 seconds to think and about another 20 to finalize the answer so 2 minutes and 8
seconds total publicity came next it took it about 3 minutes and 43 seconds and Gemini came last with 5 minutes and 48 seconds but you'll see why next so Gro is a clear winner of this round and I find that research on any topic takes it about 1 to 2 minutes which is the fastest across all platforms now as far as sources go Gemini went the deepest it went through 226 websites so I'm not surprised it took so long Gro game second with 26 sources is I feel like it's very inconsistent with the amount of
results it searches even if you copy and paste the same prompt but I find that with broader questions it usually searches up more websites and perplexity came last with just 19 sources analyzed so it's clear to say that Gemini is definitely the deepest out of all of the deep research tools and now the most important factor quality of the final research paper now in my opinion grock gave the most comprehensive results I didn't expect this at all it listed apps in categories added to table with free plan details like we can see just how many
free credits each software gives us on the free plan and we even get links to websites which is super useful when doing your research now Gemini did very well as well some of those tools on the list I haven't even heard of so definitely shows that it went through a ton of information to get here but the information is not as detailed as the one in grock's research I find that it only shows the table sometimes and when it does it's not as comprehensive as the GRS one and perplexity gave us a pretty robotic response
just copying information from websites and not very clear formatting so it's clear to say that Gro wins this round it does an incredible job at pulling specific information from websites unlike other tools that just kind of give you broad generic information they found now as far as price goes I think we really get the most value out of Gro it's free to use about six times a day and with $30 a month you'll be saving yourself a ton of time because those results are really impressive perplexity comes next now I didn't enjoy the results very
