[Music] you know when you're a person of Faith a lot of times you you think of the cosmic battle as being the battle between good and evil but the Practical reality of everyday life is that the battle for you is not the battle between good and evil the battle for you and for me is the battle between good and average the battle between good and neutral the battle between good and complacency choosing to settle for a life or a job or a career that was never really our calling and it doesn't impassion us it doesn't
make us feel alive most of us are losing the good for the average most of us are losing the the good for complacency most of us are losing the good for security most of us are losing the good for the safe it keeps you from your highest intention it keeps you from your biggest life it keeps you from the great dreams and the great vision that God has birthed in your soul so as you're looking out at your life are you satisfied are you satisfied with with your life the direction of your life so when
your head hits a pillow at night you think am I satisfied you know that kind of nagging question of is this it what is your life at right now like where are you walking because you have a choice you have a choice what are you going to do about it where are you going to go next how do we change well when we believe that where Jesus is Calling Me is better than where I'm currently standing we start now right we start now why because if it's important enough to do tomorrow it's important enough to
do today so some of you are going cool I want to get healthier get your gym membership today I want to get my finances in order make a budget today I want to read through the Bible in a year start your plan today why because it's if it's important enough to do tomorrow it's important enough to do today what do we do we start now change requires action God has blessed us with a life to grow our life and growing our life means changing our life Jesus says set out into the deep remember he said
set out into the deep the reason why some of us don't grow spiritually is we don't want to go in the Deep when Jesus says go in the Deep he's talking about we're going to go to depths where you're uncomfortable and you don't naturally want to do we have to listen to him this is the reason why we want to change and grow because we want a better life we want the satisfaction of it that's why I wouldn't say you have to God wants you to do these things I'm I don't want to say you've
got to feel it you got to sense this is the thing that God wants you to tackle there's maybe maybe there's only one or two things you're supposed to tackle or grow in this year but those have got to be things that by the end of the year you want to go hey I made progress in that that was good I I made Traction in that and you know what you're going to feel the satisfaction from it and you're going to feel good not just because that thing's better you're going to go man look what
look at the journey God God just took on don't I encourage you don't set five goals for this year too much too much just set something you feel like God wants you to do and one of the cues is you're frustrated you don't like it don't listen for me to tell you what to do what do you want what's God want you to do with your life but he also gives you and I the responsibility to fight for the life that we want the nation of is Israel went into the promised land which meant they
had the authority to fight for the promised land God doesn't just give it to them and if you want to grow in your life I'm just telling you this means you have to fight for your spiritual growth you have to fight for your relationship with God you have to fight for the things that you think God wants wants to bless you with this is important man I'm telling you there's a lot of folks who just don't understand this it's a big big deal is that when you start to change it takes a while for anything
to kick in and so therefore you're very apt to quit to be done to be over life is hard life is fill with challenges it's filled with disappointments it's filled with pain it's filled with suffering that most of the factors of life will lead you to want to give up but life is a marathon and it is not a Sprint don't quit don't give up don't throw in the towel give me one more year I will bring fruit where the tree is withered in dead I'll turn the puny into the mighty I'm not going to
back down I'm not going to stop I am going to become all that God has destined me to be whatever that is and it's going to be beautiful and it's going to be joyful and it's going to be hard and ultimately it's going to be fulfilling you figure out you figure out what is it what is it I know there's something friends I know there's something and don't let somebody else tell you what you should do I'm not telling you what you should do but there's something you need to do this year you know there
is you work out with God and get to work on it and I'm not going to back down it's in this famous verse you may have heard it Jeremiah 2911 says this God says I know God says to you I know what I'm planning for you says the Lord I have good plans for you not plans to hurt you I will give you hope and a good future so amidst all the unknowns of a year in front of us we can know that God has good plans for us and you can know also that whatever
your circumstances no matter how good or how bad your circumstances are or look this next year whatever your circumstances you have everything to look forward to what needs to change change now God just wants you to walk so if your life needs to get back on track it's not hard it's quite simple just look and move to Jesus that's all that it takes for you to say where I am isn't great and I want to go back to Jesus where I am is a disaster Zone and I need to go back back to Jesus he
invites you back he loves you he wants to love you freely he wants to give you Mercy because that is who he is he is not the parent who is impossible to please he is your father who is proud of you he wants you to come back to him today
