what's up insiders I am back and that means that it's Tuesday and if it's Tuesday it's Newsday so that means we have some great news to share with all of you across a number of different updates let's get into it first up today we're going to be talking about an exciting new update to the YouTube product drops feature Now product drops allow creators to generate excitement by announcing new products during live shopping streams in the past this required creators to connect their Shopify stores or have access to the Google merchant center account of their connected
stores they also had to set up publish dates in advance but now we're making some changes to the product drops feature that will make it more flexible for you creators first off any creators who have connected to their stores so first party stores or are participating in the YouTube affiliate program a third party store can set up product drops in the live control controll room on YouTube now this means that more creators will be able to use product drops to boost sales and engagement on their live streams remember to check out The Help Center article
to understand more details about how to set up product drops with or without publish dates in your Shopify store or Google merchant center account that will be in the description secondly we're giving creators more control over the timing of product drops in the past creators could only setup drops for a specific time in the future and should have stuck to the pre setup schedule but now they can also drop products on the fly right in the middle of a live stream this gives you creators more flexibility to react to the moment and drive excitement in
real time to use product drops simply go to the live control room and schedule a live stream in the live control room tag the product drop and any other relevant products to the live stream video click create product drop next to the product your product will be hidden until you're ready to drop it when you are ready to drop select the timer choose whether you want to do a one minute countdown or an instant drop viewers will see a countdown timer or a placeholder image of a shopping bag as a video overlay until the product

about the revenue analytics tab because we have added two new cards and one new insight to the membership section now the first card we're introducing is total members this card allows creators to see their total number of members at at Lance within the total members count creators can further analyze two different categories the first category is members with recurring memberships this gives creators insights into how many members are currently paying for memberships on a recurring basis now moving on to the second card we have where members join from this card provides insights into how creators
are converting memberships with their content creators can see the different sources from which their members are joining for example this card might show that a certain number of members joined through a specific video or through a social media promotion additionally within the detailed view of this card creators will be able to see a members only badge this badge helps creators easily identify and filter content that is exclusive to their members this information can be invaluable to creators to understand which channels or content are most effective in driving membership conversions lastly we have a new insight
added to the membership chip on YouTube analytics but not in the detail view of an existing report this Insight is called reasons for membership cancellation so when a member cancels their membership they are asked to provide a reason for their cancellation through an optional survey this data is displayed in a separate card on the membership chip by understanding the reasons why members cancel their memberships creators can gain valuable insights into potential improvements or just changes to their content content or membership offerings and so there you have it with the total members card creators can easily
