Philippines: Thanks for hanging with me today, Indo. It’s always a blast to go play frisbee with you. Indonesia: Pleasure’s all mine, Phil.
So, do you have any plans with your girlfriend this Valentine’s Day? Philippines: Yeah, we’re actually having a big Valentine’s date tonight! We’re gonna hang out at this town with so many beautiful fountains and delicious bakeries!
We’re also gonna go stargazing at the edge of the city! I can’t wait! !
! Indonesia: Ouch! !
Philippines: Whoops! Uh. .
. sorry, bro! Are you hurt?
? Indonesia: Ugh. .
. I’m fine. Just be more careful at throwing the frisbee next time.
Philippines: Oh my god, it’s Cuba! ! Philippines: Hi, babe!
I can’t wait for our Valentine’s date tonight! It’s gonna be one of our best moments we spent together! Cuba: Um.
. . hi, Philippines.
. . can we um, talk for a minute?
Philippines: Sure, what do you wanna talk about? Cuba: Listen, um. .
. I know this might be very hard for you when I say this but, um. .
. we’re breaking up. .
. Philippines: What? !
You’re joking, right? ? Cuba: No.
. . I don’t like you anymore, Philippines.
Philippines: What do you mean? ? We’ve been hanging out for the past 1 1/2 years!
We’ve gone to so many places and had a lot of fun together. I thought we have a good connection! Cuba: Look, I’m sorry.
But I like someone else now. Belarus: Hey, sunshine! Ready for our date tonight?
Cuba: Definitely. I can’t wait to see those gorgeous fountains! Belarus: Then what are you waiting for?
Let’s go! Philippines: Cuba. .
. who’s that guy? ?
? When did you meet him? Cuba: Listen, I don’t feel comfortable with you right now.
I’m gonna go. Philippines: Wait! Babe, don’t leave!
Philippines: She. . .
she left me. . .
Indo, h-how could she do this to me? ? ?
I. . .
I thought we’re in love! Indonesia: Phil, I. .
. I had no idea she was gonna react that way. .
. Philippines: No, this can’t be the end! Indo, how do I win her back?
? ? Indonesia: Do I look like a girl expert to you, bro?
Philippines: Honestly, eh. . .
kind of. You’re physically active and play frisbee all the time. You must get all kinds of chicks.
Indonesia: Sure, but that doesn’t mean I can help you get her to like you again. Indonesia: Hey. .
. cheer up, dude. There are many other attractive girls in this school that would love to be with you.
Philippines: Yeah, but. . .
Cuba was the one for me. She’s the perfect girl I’ve ever met in my life! I thought we were meant to be, but.
. . she just.
. . broke my heart like that!
Philippines: Just don’t touch me! I wanna be alone right now. .
. South Korea: Hi, Phil! Um.
. . everything okay?
Philippines: Leave me alone. . .
South Korea: W-Why are you crying? Is something the matter? South Korea: You can talk to me, you know.
Philippines: Cuba. . .
she. . .
broke up with me. . .
South Korea: Ouch! What happened? Philippines: I don’t know, but.
. . she’s in love with another guy now.
I just don’t understand why she just left me like that. . .
especially on Valentine’s Day! South Korea: I’m really sorry to hear that. .
. maybe that other guy has something that you don’t? Or maybe you guys just need a break?
Philippines: But she’s the biggest love of my life! I-I can’t spend a day without her! Do you know any way I can make her love me again?
South Korea: Oh, um. . .
I don’t think that’s possible. . .
Philippines: What do you mean? I thought there are ways you can reunite with your partner after you broke up with them? South Korea: Sure.
. . but the truth is, real passionate love comes naturally.
Who knows, maybe she’ll come back to you one day. Philippines: But she’s with someone else now. .
. we were supposed to have a date tonight but. .
. it seems that’s not gonna happen anymore. .
. South Korea: I feel you, Phil. I know how it feels losing someone you really, really love.
South Korea: Oh, it’s my mom. She’s here to pick us up. I gotta go and tell my brother.
I better hope he’s not bullying someone! Philippines: Why would she do this to me. .
. I never said anything bad at her. .
. I. .
. I love her so much. .
. Canada: Philippines, right? Canada: It’s me, Canada!
We were in Country Country Literature Club last year. Philippines: Oh, hi. .
. it's been a while. Canada: What are you doing here so late?
School ended 2 hours ago. Philippines: Oh, um. .
. I’m just chilling, I guess. .
. Canada: You sure? It looked like you were crying when I saw you.
Is everything okay? Philippines: It’s Valentine’s Day today, and I’m supposed to have a date with my girlfriend tonight. You know Cuba, right?
Canada: Oh, of course! I’m one of her classmates, in fact. She told me a lot about you and it seems like you two are in a really close relationship.
Philippines: Yeah, but. . .
she broke up with me. . .
Canada: What? ! Damn, that sucks.
Philippines: I know it’s shocking to hear this, but she likes someone else now. She was so sweet to me and then. .
. she just completely cut things off! Philippines: I just don’t know what to do.
. . now I’m all alone.
. . on Valentine’s.
. . Canada: Hey, listen.
I gotta tell you something. I. .
. think it might be helpful for you. Philippines: What is it?
Canada: You know. . .
back then, I was just like you or any other ordinary person. I always wanted to hang out with friends and dreamed about having a romantic partner. But my mom always kept saying, “You should focus on your studies.
” And I get it, studying is important, but there’s more to life than just academics. Sadly my mom disagrees, and always pressured me into getting high grades on quizzes and tests. Canada: And look at me now, I’m always the highest in North America class.
That may sound like a good thing, but it got bad when people start to call me a nerd. I wanna work on something that’s outside of academics, so that’s why I, and five other members, formed a band named Continent Crush. So we can show that we can still be successful whether we’re good or bad at school.
But sad to say, my mom thinks that the band is just a “waste of time”. Canada: I know this story sounds really harsh, but it’s the truth of this world. While you’re alive, you gotta live.
You gotta feel all the good stuff and the bad stuff that’s happening to you. You understand? Philippines: Yeah.
. . thanks for the advice.
Canada: No problem, bro. Take care. North Korea: Oh, look who it is!
China: What are you doing here sitting so late in the afternoon? Russia: Yeah, where’s your Valentine? Philippines: Leave me alone, you guys.
China: Aww, did your cute-looking girlfriend break up with you? Russia: That has got to be the most embarrassing thing that can happen to someone on Valentine’s Day! China: Imagine being single, how lonely that must feel.
Philippines: Can you guys just mind your own business! ? I just wanna be with myself right now.
North Korea: I knew I was right. You don’t deserve to be with someone beautiful like Cuba. She deserves to be with someone cool and strong, like me.
Philippines: Bro, you call attacking and making fun of her “cool”? That’s literally the exact reason why she broke up with you! North Korea: Whatever, that was years ago.
If I ever catch you talking to that girl again, or even just looking at her, I am literally going to kick your ba- South Korea: North Korea! ! !
South Korea: What do you think you’re doing? ! North Korea: Uh.
. . it’s not what it looks like!
South Korea: Save it! I’ve been looking around for you for 2 hours, and here you are insulting my friend? !
North Korea: B. . .
But I- South Korea: No buts! I swear I’m gonna report you to Principal UN if I ever see you bullying again. Now come on, our mom is waiting for us!
North Korea: Fine. . .
Canada: You see what I mean? Some people just never change. Philippines: I just wish all this bullying in our school would stop.
Canada: Yeah, tell me about it. Then maybe life here would be more enjoyable. Canada: I have to go now.
I don’t wanna see my mom getting mad at me for coming home so late. Philippines: Well. .
. might as well enjoy the stars tonight. Even if I’ll be by myself.
Philippines: Maybe this was a bad idea. . .
Philippines: Cuba? ? Indonesia: Hey, bro.
Philippines: Indo? What are you doing here? Indonesia: I was worried about you.
How you feeling right now? Philippines: Not good. I just want things to be like they were.
But South Korea said I can’t make Cuba love me, and Canada said I have to feel stuff even if it’s something I don’t wanna feel. So. .
. I guess I’m stuck feeling single forever. Indonesia: You won’t feel single forever, bro.
Philippines: How do you know? Indonesia: Because Phil, not even Earth will last forever. Eventually, in a few or several years, something will happen that could destroy all of humanity, like an asteroid or a super deadly pandemic.
Philippines: Why would you say that! ? Earth is the only planet humanity can live!
I’m trying to feel better! Indonesia: Yes, and our time on Earth is too precious to spend, all of it down in the dumps. Eventually, our lives on Earth will come to an end.
Philippines: What’s the point of living in this planet anymore if it’ll just disappear someday? Like Cuba. .
. Indonesia: Look at the stars, bro. Look how they shine for you.
Even the stars don’t last forever. Some of them are already gone. Philippines: Okay.
. . your point is?
Indonesia: They’re still beautiful. Philippines: The pain in our background for the world, Indo. Don’t overthink it.
Indonesia: You’re ruining the moment. Philippines: Sorry. So, what you’re saying is.
. . even though the world can be happy and sad, and doesn’t last forever, it’s still worth living?
Indonesia: Yes, and so is your life. Even without a girlfriend, some people will still love and care about you, like your friends and your family. So.
. . try to spend more time and bond with them.
Philippines: You know. . .
you’re right, bro. Thank you. I mean it this time.
Philippines: Oh great, who is it now? Cuba: It’s me, Philippines. Philippines: Cuba?
? Indonesia: Okay, um. .
. I’ll leave you two alone. I’ll see you in school tomorrow.
Cuba: Bye, Indonesia. Philippines: I don’t understand. .
. why are you here? Cuba: Listen, um.
. . I just wanna say that.
. . I’m sorry.
I. . .
never should’ve left you. Philippines: Huh? I thought you had a new boyfriend?
Cuba: Yeah, but. . .
let’s just say I wasn’t very interested at him. He’s not the type of guy I wanted to be with. Philippines: Oh.
. . Cuba: Yeah, I don’t think I’m spending Valentine’s with that guy ever again.
To be honest. . .
I wanna spend Valentine’s with you. Cuba: I felt bad for breaking up with you earlier. I guess I didn’t realize how you’ve been so nice and sweet to me unlike that other guy, and how much fun we had together in the past 1 1/2 years.
I’m so sorry. . .
Philippines: You know. . .
when you left me alone, I felt really lonely and I thought that you hated me. I thought that I did something bad at you or you actually never really loved me. I just.
. . can’t spend a day or even an hour without you, and.
. . I MISS YOU!
! ! Cuba: Don’t cry.
. . I'm here for you.
. . I promise I won’t ever leave you again.
. . Cuba: I love you.
. . Philippines: I love you too.
. . Cuba: Oh, um.
. . I uh.
. . got something for you.
Cuba: I felt bad for not being able to see the fountains with you, so I went to this bakery nearby and bought this, as your Valentine gift. . .
from me. Philippines: Are these. .
. cookies? Cuba: Yeah.
. . I remember how much you love desserts and sweet things, so.
. . I got them for you.
Philippines: Wow. . .
thank you so much. You have no idea how much this means to me. If you didn’t know, cookies are actually my favorite dessert.
Cuba: I’m glad you really like them. . .
Cuba: Happy Valentine’s, babe! Philippines: Happy Valentine’s, sweetheart. .
.
