South Korea: Yay, East Egg Island, we’re finally here! ! !
Canada: I’m so glad we finally get to spend some time outside of school, and I can’t believe my mom let me come on this trip! Indonesia: Ahh. .
. beach vacation. So good to finally hang out with my friends after 9 months of hell.
Nothing can ruin my- North Korea: Hey stinkin’s, how’s it going? Indonesia: What! ?
North Korea? ? Who invited you?
? South Korea: My mom forced me to invite him. Even though he and I definitely don’t have anything in common.
Indonesia: But he’s the biggest bully in the entire school! ! !
Canada: Look, we’re not here to fight or argue who gets invited or not. We’re just here to have fun. Besides, this is one of our only biggest chances to spend time together, especially since we’re a big group here.
Philippines: You know. . .
Canada has a good point. We really need to get along. North Korea: Yeah man, we don’t need to worry about that.
Y’know. . .
this could be like. . .
our honeymoon. Philippines: Help. .
. with the bags. North Korea: Whatever, man.
This is gonna be the best vacation ever! Philippines: Well guys, I guess this is our sign to check-in our villa. Indonesia and Jamaica: Villa!
? Philippines: That’s right! I upgraded all of us, because.
. . we deserve it.
So, let’s hop on! Cuba: Hey babe. .
. Philippines: Yes? Cuba: You know.
. . this is actually my first time being at the beach with you and our friends.
. . thanks for doing this for us.
Philippines: Don’t worry, babe. We’re gonna make this our best summer vacation ever. Indonesia: Daaaamn, this villa is amazing!
! Jamaica: This is so huge! USA: Woah.
. . Canada: This is nice!
Philippines: Alright everyone, I got your keys, let me show you your rooms. Philippines: Aha. .
. USA, Canada, this is your room. USA: Alright.
. . Philippines: And this room is for you and you.
Jamaica: Thank you! Philippines: Enjoy! Jamaica: Wow.
. . this is so cool and so nice!
Indonesia: Is this the presidential suite? ? ?
Philippines: Uh. . .
it’s just a regular room? Jamaica: Look at the umbrellas! Indonesia: And towels?
? Jamaica: And this room even has an AC? Jamaica: Wait.
. . is that a hanger?
? ? Philippines: Have you not been on vacation before?
Jamaica: No, I haven’t. Indonesia: Jamaica, check this view! Jamaica: Wow.
. . it’s so beautiful!
! ! USA: This is it?
Philippines: Hope you guys like your room. Enjoy! Hey babe, let’s go upstairs!
USA: Ughhh. . .
Canada: How about we look at the view to cheer us up? USA: What view! ?
What am I supposed to do, stare at the concrete wall? And there’s only one hanger! Ugh.
. . USA: This bed sucks!
! ! Look, it can’t stop creaking!
! ! Canada: US, can you please be gentle?
It’s fragile. USA: Ugh, the bathroom better look good. USA: What?
? ? Why is the toilet not automatic and wall-mounted?
Canada: US, it’s not a big deal. At least we got a decent room. USA: It’s not decent enough!
Plus, everything’s so cramped! Also, this wood on the floor is not eco-friendly! And look at the steel of the window.
It’s not galvanized! Jamaica: Should we join them? Indonesia: I don’t think so.
. . USA: Whatever man, I’m gonna go swim at the beach.
Philippines: Since I paid for everything, I think it’s only fair that I take the best room here. North Korea: Hey, that’s not fair! Philippines: How is it not fair?
? North Korea: Because, uh. .
. Cuba, she deserves the better room! She’s going to need maximum comfort.
Philippines: Well, that’s the plan. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure she has “maximum comfort”. Which is why I’m rooming with her.
North Korea: But wait, that means I have to room with South Korea! No way I’m sharing my room with her. Philippines: North Korea, it’s summer break!
Can’t we all just chill for once? North Korea: I’m not going to “chill” until I get a perfect roommate! South Korea: Wait, wait, wait, wait.
I have a better idea. Maybe the boys and the girls should room separately. This way, our parents will trust us to go on more vacations together.
Philippines: You know, she has a point. North Korea: Oh come on, what are we, kids? South Korea: So it’s settled then, Cuba and I will go unpack now.
And. . .
this is a good chance for us to bond since we’ve barely spoken. Cuba: What? ?
Fine. . .
North Korea: What are ya looking at? Philippines: I want no part in this. .
. Jamaica: Awkward. .
. Indonesia: What’s going on? USA: Isn’t it obvious?
North Korea trying to swoop in so that he gets to room with Cuba. It just shows us that he still likes her. Or maybe.
. . he likes Philippines?
Or maybe. . .
Cuba likes South Korea? Indonesia: Hm, I guess we’ll never know. USA: Only in our wildest dreams.
. . Canada: Yeah.
. . okay, let’s not get into that.
The main point is, we all should get along with each other. South Korea: I never knew you were part of the Sparkles volleyball club. Cuba: Well, I mean, I don’t really talk about it much, to be honest.
I’m not really an officer yet, maybe next year I’ll be one. South Korea: Oh, hi Indo! Indonesia: Hey, wassup?
? South Korea: Cuba and I are gonna play volleyball. Wanna join?
Jamaica: No way, you play volleyball? ? Cuba: Yeah, I just never really talked about it.
Wanna hop on, though? Jamaica: Sure, sounds pretty fun! Jamaica: Oh my god, Cuba.
That was such a good throw! How did you do that? Cuba: Well, it’s on a matter of agility and skill.
You gotta practice a lot if you wanna be great at it. Indonesia: Damn, that’s awesome. Cuba: Oh, and fun fact, in our Sparkles club, we actually have a saying during the end of our sessions.
Our coach screams “SPARKLES! ! !
! ” and us members will all say “STAY LOOOWWW! !
! ! ” Because that’s the trick in catching the ball on time.
South Korea: That’s really cool! You know, why don’t you bring your boyfriend, Phil here? He’s gonna have a lot of fun here.
Cuba: Great idea, South Korea. I’ll ask him first, and maybe we can all play. Cuba: Hey, Phil!
I’m. . .
surprised you brought a laptop here. . .
Philippines: Yeah, what’s up, babe? Cuba: My friends and I are playing volleyball. Maybe it would be fun if you’d play with us?
Philippines: Nah, I’d rather stay here on the bench, where it’s more comfortable. Besides, I hate sand. It’s so sandy.
And plus, I just downloaded this game. It’s really fun to play. Cuba: What game is it?
Philippines: It’s called Plague Inc: Evolved. You should try it sometime. Cuba: Oh, what does it do?
Philippines: Basically, you create a disease and you have to infect the world with it. Philippines: You can choose any disease type, from bacteria, to virus, to fungus, and even a bioweapon. Philippines: And you can evolve your disease with transmissions, symptoms, and resistances to make it stronger so that it can infect the entire world quicker.
The goal is to kill everyone with your disease before doctors could cure you and make you lose the game. Cuba: Killing everyone? That doesn’t seem like a very good game.
. . Philippines: Yeah, I know.
Don’t worry, though, because they actually added a cure mode, where you get to cure the disease before it starts infecting everyone. Philippines: On this side, it’s you doctors against the infectious pathogen. You have to evolve measures and create an infection control team to stop the spread.
But either way, it gives you an idea on microbiology and epidemiology, such as how different pathogens have different abilities and how do they spread to people. Cuba: That’s awesome! Maybe I should download it, too.
Philippines: Didn’t you say you want to play volleyball? Cuba: No, I rather stay with you. .
. Cuba: And. .
. play Plague Inc? Philippines: Oh, well sure.
But. . .
there’s not really much of a co-op play here, unlike games like Genshin. But it’s fun though, let me know when you’re done downloading. Philippines: If only a real zombie apocalypse were to happen.
. . that would be cool.
Jamaica: Man, what’s taking Cuba so long? Indonesia: Hm. .
. I think she’s taking time with her partner. You know how relationships are nowadays, we should give them space.
Jamaica: . . .
Yeah, I guess you do have a point, Indonesia. South Korea: Hey, is that. .
. Indonesia: India? ?
? India: Hey! Didn’t expect to meet you here.
Indonesia: What are you doing here? India: Oh, you don’t know? I actually bought this island.
Ever since I won over $1,000,000 in Wheel of Fortune, I can now afford a hundred years worth of vacations. Right now, I brought my friends to West Egg Island. I see you guys are in East Egg Island right now.
Jamaica: Oh, I didn’t know there was a western counterpart. Indonesia: So. .
. you live in this archipelago now? India: No, rather I got ownership of it.
If you guys wanna earn a lot of money, you could try Wheel of Fortune. But I don’t really recommend it, there’s only a teeny-tiny chance of winning $1,000,000. Anyways, what are you doing now?
South Korea: We’re playing volleyball. We’re waiting for a friend, but it seems she’s taking so long. Indonesia: Do you.
. . wanna play with us for a while?
India: Hm. . .
I’m not really into sports, but why not? At least I get some downtime with some of my classmates. Indonesia: Alright, let’s go!
Pakistan: India, we need you! India: Huh? What happened?
Pakistan: Your friend, Bangladesh, he’s been really sick lately. He has a high fever, his eyes are bleeding, and some parts of his body are turning black! India: Yikes, that sounds very serious!
Could it be the bubonic plague? Pakistan: We’re not sure. It could also be malaria, I just found out this week is insect migration season.
Either way, we need to go, now. India: Sorry guys, it’s a huge emergency. South Korea: The bubonic plague?
Didn’t that go away centuries ago? Jamaica: And I thought malaria is only found in tropical forests and savannahs. Indonesia: Huh.
. . he doesn’t seem wrong about the insect migration, though.
We need to be careful. Cuba: Hey, babe. .
. can you. .
. come over to my room tonight? I know you hate being roommates with North Korea.
Philippines: Sure, maybe we can play Plague Inc together there. Cuba: Oh, no, I was thinking. .
. maybe we could watch a movie together? Guardians of the Galaxy 3?
Kung Fu Panda 4? Philippines: Didn’t we watch those movies before? Cuba: Hm.
. . it’s getting dark.
We should walk back inside. You’re gonna come with me? Philippines: Nah, I need some space for myself.
And I need space for Plague Inc, too. 2,026 MB to be exact. Cuba: Ah.
. . alright.
I’ll. . .
see you later. USA: Phil, what are you doing, man? You gotta snap out of it, you gotta enjoy the beautiful things in life.
Philippines: I am, I am! I’m playing Plague Inc here. It’s beautiful, alright?
Chill, look at the graphics! USA: That’s not what I’m talking about, I’m talking about your girlfriend! Your love!
Your relationship! Philippines: Dude, give me a break! I’m close to winning the cure mode for fungus!
USA: Man. . .
Philippines: Fine, fine, fine. I’ll play later. Philippines: Man, if only a zombie apocalypse was real.
I’ll have them eat you first! USA: I heard that! Philippines: You are supposed to!
Jamaica: South Korea, how’s your food going? South Korea: Hm. .
. I think it’s about time I mention that I can’t really cook. Jamaica: What?
I thought you know how to cook these, aren’t you famous for your instant noodles? South Korea: And I thought you’re famous for your jerk barbecue? Indonesia: I don’t understand why did they trust us to cook.
Why can’t they just, order something? South Korea: Yeah, but. .
. I think the island is just. .
. too far away from everything. Jamaica: Good point.
Speaking of which, has anyone seen USA? Indonesia: Yeah. .
. we could really use some help. He told us he’s gonna cook some.
. . salisbury steak?
Jamaica: Oh, steak! That sounds really delicious. Indonesia: Yeah, it’s his specialty.
I’ll go talk to him right now. Oh and, South Korea, may I suggest opening the package first, then cooking the noodles? USA: Oh, hey.
. . I don’t think we’ve ever met?
USA: So, do you live here? Or you’re also staying for vacation just like me and my friends? USA: Oh, I think I forgot to introduce myself.
I’m United States, or the USA. What’s your name? USA: Don’t wanna talk, huh?
That’s fine. . .
I know a video game character who doesn’t like to talk or smile, but he’s a good friend. He also has a really caring sister. I love that game, even now I still feel nostalgic about it.
USA: You know, I’m actually gonna cook some salisbury steak tonight. Maybe you can come over to our villa and we’ll chat on the way, whaddaya say? USA: Wow, looks like someone’s really hungry!
Don’t worry, I’ll give you extra. USA: Oh damn, you look different! Maybe this is how your people here look like?
USA: Hey, what are you doing- AAHHHH! ! !
WHY ARE YOU BITING ME? ? ?
USA: AAAAAAHHHHHH! ! !
AAAAAAHHHHH, SOMEONE HELP MEEEEEEEE! ! !
! Indonesia: Ah, ah, AHHHHHH! !
! ! GUYS, GUYS!
! ! !
