[Peter] The Marvels debuted and didn't convince the critics, right? “A solid contender for the worst Marvel movie yet”: that’s whatmovie critic Donald Clarke wrote. The other criticisms follow more or less the same path.
There are a lot of people who go just to see the post-credits. Captain Marvel has her prestige down there. And there?
Is this the end for the character? A book that tells all the behind-the-scenes secrets of the MCU says “yes”. There are strong signs that Captain Marvel's trajectory in the MCU may be numbered.
Brie Larson herself dropped the bomb and ran away. Let's understand what crisis is happening now. Hey Nerd, what's up?
Peter here! Captain Marvel's first solo movie earned no less than 1. 1 billion dollars at the box office in 2019.
It was a lot of money. The MCU is dying to repeat a number like that. It's been a while, right?
They have to repeat a number like that. The problem is that the hate was strong. Among the MCU films, Captain Marvel has the worst MCU audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
It only beats the Inhumans series, which got 43% approval, and the She-Hulk show, which got a humiliating 32%. She-Hulk is the worst thing to happen to the MCU to date. Then, research was carried out in the United States on messages published on Twitter in relation to MCU films.
And again Captain Marvel was the most hated film in 23 states. The United States has 50 states, of those 50, 23 hate, HATE the Captain Marvel movie more than anything. It is complicated.
Will Marvel insist? Will actress Brie Larson throw in the towel? You will find out now.
And to find out everything about the universe of superheroes, anime, cartoons, films, series, this is the channel for you! Subscribe to this channel. Every day for almost 10 years, we've been here on this YouTube platform bringing everything that happens in this nerdy universe to you.
Thank you very much for your subscription, let's go! Guys, Disney preferred not to risk a second Captain Marvel solo movie. So much so that this sequel is actually called The Marvels, bringing together Carol Danvers, Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau all in one film, it was not a solo movie.
You can't call it a solo movie, it's a trio film, they're all equivalent there. The idea suddenly was to avoid the hate. It will work?
There's no way to know yet. Everything indicates not, but will it happen? The success or failure of this movie will decide everything from now on.
For now the film is unfortunately failing, it's not what we want. Of course. Captain Marvel could end up on the fridge or undergo a reboot.
If it depends on actress Brie Larson, this should have already happened. She felt like dropping everything, picking up her things and leaving. This revelation happened in the book MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios.
The people who wrote this book had access to insiders, they had access to information that had not been leaked to the press before. And the guys let it all out. According to the book, “the toxic reaction made Brie Larson no longer want to play Carol Danvers.
” That was all that was needed here for her to give up. Between us, I don't know if Brie Larson will be carried in the arms of The Marvels. I find it difficult to reverse the negative energy that the movie received even before it came out.
It has to be a phenomenal movie to change this situation, truly mind-blowing, the movie has to be stunning. Most likely, the movie will again receive the same attacks as the first one. So?
Can Brie Larson handle this? Does she have a contract for more films? Sources close to the actress have already revealed that she is looking for other work outside of the MCU.
She wants a big franchise that doesn't have to do with Captain Marvel. So, Brie Larson would be trying out for a role in the Harry Potter reboot. If people hate her, why not try out for a role as Bellatrix Lestrange?
Turn that hate into your resume! Anyway, technically, there really is a way for Brie Larson to sneak out. The word in Hollywood is that the MCU will undergo a reboot too, I brought you that, right.
With or without The Marvels' success, I'd say it's guaranteed that Captain Marvel will return for the final battle against Kang. But, even in this final battle, Brie Larson may have already been replaced. We are talking here about the multiverse.
Instead of the Carol Danvers that we know, we would see a Carol Danvers from another universe appearing in the fight. We recently had a whole squad of Carol Danvers in the Multiversal War in the comics, okay? "Peter, you wish Brie Larson leave?
" No way, man! I've always been a guy who liked Brie Larson, because I understand what Carol Danvers is like in the comics, right? It's actually good to say that because people take it out of context and think I'm the guy who wants her to leave.
No way, man, I dig her! And if I thought she had to leave, I would have no problem telling you that, right? There are some other actors, some other characters that I think really needed to leave the MCU, man, that I think didn't fit right into the MCU.
But not Brie Larson, man, I think Brie Larson took on a character that's unlikable in comic books, you know? I think a lot of people don't understand that. So, with the Marvel universe restarting, it's time to review the contract, review the lineup.
If she intends to leave, now is the time to do so. Marvel can decide that the character is burned and push it forward, they can do that. Either Marvel could give Brie Larson a second chance, or Brie Larson herself could ask to leave.
The possibilities are on the table. And since we're raising hypotheses, let me drop one that I thought of here: if there's a multiverse, if there's going to be a reboot, why not bring Captain Marvel to the MCU? It would be too angry!
It was going to be a great tribute to a classic Marvel character. “Ah, Peter, but then people will say that Kevin Feige removed a heroine to create a male version of her. ” None of that.
The original Captain Marvel was a Kree captain named Mar-Vell and was created in 1967. He's the original, okay? Then Carol Danvers appeared in the next comic and had no powers.
She came later. Carol Danvers gained powers even because of Captain Marvel. And, at the beginning of her career, Carol Danvers went by the name Ms.
Marvel. Yes, it's a name salad. Carol only started using the name Captain Marvel after Captain Marvel died, to continue the legacy.
So, Mar-Vell, who was the original Captain Marvel, had a fifteen-year career in the comics, until he passed away in 1982. He is one of the very rare Marvel characters who was never resurrected. I brought this to you, right, he and Uncle Ben, they really died.
It would be cool to rescue him in an eventual reboot of the MCU. It's an idea that I leave in the air, that's all. Now, comment below: do you think Captain Marvel should continue or is it better to take a break, including for the actress herself who doesn't feel good in the role?
