so this is what no one tells you about selling digital products online or even dropshipping digital products and some of the long-term flaws that you can occur within this business now I'm going to say it straight away Sun digital products online isn't perfect and if you encounter one of the main erors that beginners phase then you're going to struggle to make any money with this business and you're not going to see any long-term success with selling digital products online now even with all of that being said I still think selling digital products is the best
opportunity for a beginner to make money on online just because of the profit margins and how easy it is to start as a business now as long as you follow the next three simple steps that I'm going to be showing you step by step then you will avoid all of the long-term flaws with selling digital products online and you're going to be able to generate hundreds of thousands of dollars and not worry about losing any of that money now the first major flaw to selling digital products online is the customers expectations now remember when you're
selling digital products online the customer will receive the digital download straight away so straight away they're going to be excited for what they've just bought now if that does not meet their expectations they are not going to be happy and this is where most digital product creators whether it be on Etsy Shopify or dropshippers fail to create a good digital product now I'm going to show you a very good example now of exactly this you can see here I'm on this website which is a digital product website and I've shown this in one of my
videos before and it's a digital soulmate drawing and reading so this is a digital product that you can buy and it's around about $60 now this is their website and I know they're making a lot of money because they're trying to sell this company right now and if we scroll down their proof of Records is they've generated almost a million dollar in the last 12 months so it's very much a profitable and successful digital product store but the problem is the customer journey and expectation does not match that you can see here on their trust
pilot and if you don't know what trust pilot is it is one of the most credible places to leave reviews based on a company's website and deliverables so you can see here this is their trust pilot and they've got a 1.4 star reviews based on 42 people you can see here one of the reviews says don't deserve a star they don't deserve a star it's a ripoff please don't order from them you get a computer generated drawing your money has gone the next review says the text in the evaluation was completely unreadable individual letters were
missing from every single word the next one says fraud ripped off my money received a sketch that was made by a computer so you can see everyone's pretty much saying the same thing the actual soulmate drawing was just computer generated it was really really overpriced for what it was and people were very much underwhelmed and not impressed now because digital products are so easy to create and get to your customers because you can use AI you can use a freelancer or you can make it yourself it's just easy to mess up if you do not
create something good people are going to get really angry very quickly so the customer's experience and satisfaction will not be met so the point I'm trying to make here is if you want a long-term business that does well remember based on these reviews this company probably won't do well anymore because they're getting lots of refunds returns in charge backs they probably won't be able to sell this company because the buyer will just see the reviews and be like I don't want to touch this so this can cause a lot of long-term problems with your digital

and get it remade by a freelancer it is so so easy to do it your work isn't protected so people can literally just you know privately sell it online so they buy your digital download they list it on a website for free so anyone can download it so basically your digital product becomes worthless if people find out that it's been leaked for free online so it's very very hard to protect your digital asset online now there's apps that you can use through shop that really do help protect it you can also send people lawsuits and
files and stuff like that to make sure they don't do it you can also report websites that are doing it but at the end of the day this is one of the hardest challenges with digital products especially when you become a big seller you are naturally going to get people ripping you off people selling your digital product for free on these leaked websites and then you have to make sure that you have the apps and protection and you even hire a VA that goes out there everyday and looks for these companies that are doing it
and get them shut down now the other point that I wanted to make is the competition again if people can find out that you're making a lot of money with your digital product they will instantly replicate it they'll just download it send it to a freelancer to remake or they'll even just resell your digital product and just change the branding on it so it's a very easy space for you to get ripped off and not be protected now of course you can use things like watermarks if you're giving an ocean template away through the middle
or a PDF there are things that you can do to protect yourself but it isn't 100% guaranteed now of course selling on Shopify has way more advantages than there are on Etsy so if you're watching this and you're an Etsy digital product seller I would highly recommend that you move over to Shopify because you're going to get way more protection and you've got way more control over how you want to run your business and there's more apps out there that can help you protect your digital downloads now the third biggest flaw with selling digital products
online are the marketing challenges now when you're selling a digital product it's very hard to emphasize the benefit of it through a marketing video through a Facebook ad Tik Tok ad or even Google ads because it's a digital download so it's very hard to persuade somebody to use it when it's something that's digital Than Physical now when it comes to creating video ads and stuff like that it can be harder to get somebody to justify paying for your product because it's harder for them to understand the value through it through a video now for example
in my case if I'm selling an ADHD planner I can get somebody to make a video explaining what the ADHD planet did for them how it benefited their life I can even get some ugc videos of people using it and explaining their experience with the digital download but just in general I find that a lot of digital product sellers really struggle with marketing because they just don't know how to persuade the consumer to buy it because it's digital and not physical and I think for most people they struggle to think outside the box for digital
products in terms of how to advertise them and this is their biggest bottleneck within their business but honestly if you're smart enough to figure out who your Market audience is and what they want making videos is actually not that difficult and of course you can look at your compet ition and see what they're doing on the ad library or you can have a look at what they're doing on Tik Tok and see if you can make some new ideas but generally I see most digital product sellers really struggle on the advertisements because they just don't
know how to persuade somebody through a digital product and I think you guys have to understand that if you're selling a digital product then you need to make sure you're creating a vssl which is a value sales letter on your landing pages explaining what it is that you're selling because remember in that video that gives you the opportunity to really sell what it is that you're offering cuz remember people can't physically see this they have to believe what you say and what they see on the screen based on if that digital product is worth the
money now vsrs have started to do really really well for physical products but they're actually really much better off for digital products cuz that's what in my opinion they design to do so make sure that if you're selling a digital product on your own landing page on Shopify create a vsl get somebody to do it for you or do it yourself cuz you will see a massive difference in getting people to want to buy that digital product and like I said before your marketing materials will be harder to persuade somebody in it just means that
you need to be better at creating marketing ideas and you can just look at competition think outside the box and start creating stuff I still don't think it's an excuse that people should have for not creating good marketing creatives I've seen some epic marketing creatives from digital Sal that are better than physical sellers you've just got to really start thinking more outside the box and how you can actually Target that market that you're selling to but for most beginners they really struggle because they don't know how to think outside the box now if you're able
to conquer those three flaws with selling digital products online as a beginner you will create your first $10,000 even $100,000 online with selling digital products because digital products is the biggest opportunity in my opinion the profit margins are amazing it's cheap to create it's easy for your customers to receive the product it is so much easier in my opinion to make money sell digital products online than it is to sell physical products and I believe that the market is not that saturated compared to selling physical products so if you're able to do what I taught
