hello doers zasu here with another tutorial now that you've started using ODU let's review that interface this may seem slightly complicated at first but it Remains the Same throughout each app so you're going to quickly become familiar with it I Pinky Promise well pinky after the following demo you're going to be navigating through o like a prop so now chcha let's jump right into it so here I am on my main ODU dashboard this is where I see all the applications and modules that I've installed in the top right corner I can actually see I
have a few other icons now if we click on this red dot right there you'll notice that it's a check in and checkout switch integrated with the attendance app so to the right of that over here we have this little phone looking button when I click it basically lets me know that I have VoIP installed or voice over Internet Protocol right there I can also make phone calls from here as you can tell by this little number pad the next icon up over here is a nice little chat bubble with a number next to us
which links us to all of our conversations inside of the discuss module and if we click on this little clock icon right there it's all of my activities along with what each app each activity is inside of now you'll also notice I have this little tool set icon right there when I click it it takes me to a very special option over here this means that I have ODU Studio installed and I can click on this icon in any application to edit the look of the app and even add new Fields if necessary and that's
super cool right now next is a multi company taco over here it's only present if you have multiple companies using the same modu database so as you saw when I clicked this right now it allowed me to see stealthy wood San Francisco and stealthy wood Chicago right now you'll see that I'm inside of our SF office but you can also see that my Chicago branch uses this database as well the last icon we have over here is me it happens to be the profile the user profile icon selecting oo over here gets us to a
drop down menu with a few of the other options better to click on documentation right there a new tab opens to od.com user documentation page which can be very handy but right now we're not going to go there so going on to the menu over here we have our next option I can also contact ODU support directly from this menu as you can see by our support option beneath that I have a shortcuts option when I click on that over here takes me over to this nice little popup over here and I can start to
type shortcuts and commands this popup can also be accessed by entering control k uh command K depending on your laptop and that type of thing throughout the whole database basic menu can be accessed from the dashboard by typing forward slash as well so from this window I can for example type a forward slash look we start to get little options right there sales and ODU gives me the option to navigate directly to it if I want to reach product variants in a jiffy all I have to do is type slash product and I'm G actually
just going to show that real quick look at that right there product V boom done bam if I select that boom we're right there we could do this every single time on every single menu in the database this makes navigating through ODU even easier now remember you can also do this right from the home screen without any Mouse clicks whatsoever so if I return back over to the home screen over here and I just start typing in the word sales Odo magic right there I love that all right now let's click away from that and
we're going to remove that popup going to reopen our profile icon up again over here and we're going to move forward now next on the list is dark mode which when you selected changes the color layout of ODU the scheme if you will but this one's only for cool kids cool kids use uh ODU dark mode and it can easily be toggled off because I don't have sunglasses so I'm not that cool right now now if we open it up once again we're going to move forward now I have the option called my profile over
here and when that's clicked ODU takes me over to my ODU user profile page so let's go back over here and that's where you find it I realized I didn't have the menu up I'm sorry about that lastly you'll find the final option which is log out of your database but I'm going to stay logged in so I'm not going to log out right now so we're staying here because from here I can choose my own language time zone and notification settings as well as other things now the notification setting here is crucial especially if
you don't want to receive email notifications from ODU and instead handle everything inside of the database and that case you select the option I have now which is handle in ODU if I also go over here to the language field that we have over there I see that I have it set on English us as my option as you can imagine ODU has the option to load many different languages perhaps you have some users from Belgium that only speak French for instance in that case you can install a new language inside of the database from
right here using this little Globe icon that we have right there and selecting it but we're already here so I think it's time for us to add a new language now if I'd like to add the language option I just have to start typing in my case I'm going to type in French and you'll see we have multiple options I'm going to select French be for Belgium you have ODU website installed ODU will ask you if you would like to translate any website that you made but we don't need to select any sites right now
so in my case I'm actually just going to select ad just like that OD presents me with the option to switch to French once that this loads if I would like to as well but in my case I'm going to keep English right now so we don't need to deal with that at all so we're actually just going to close that out now with that in place next time I go to my user profile or settings I can manage users and select a user I will have French as a language option that's pretty cool right
and if you didn't hear me go to settings you can find in configuration and settings and then you want to manage users and select it and go and select French as your language you may also see different tabs on the my profile page for things such as account secur security resume work information private info and HR settings as well by default however you will only be able to see the preferences and account security tabs the others appear when the other Odo modules like employees and so on are installed so be sure to check out our
HR tutorials for more information on that now let's briefly take a look at the account security settings by clicking on the account security tab over here so inside of here and I'm going to go through these the user can basically change their password which is an option right there they can toggle the on andof switch for two Factor authentication which is another option right there and below that we also have a couple of other options which is log out from all devices maybe you got robbed and the ability to create a new API key very
critical so right now though let's navigate back to the main Odo dashboard by selecting in the top left corner and then let's open up the sales application so in every application you've noticed there's a little app icon in the top left corner and when it's clicked it sends you back to the main dashboard and in the very same place if we select it again it takes us to our previous View right back to where we were on the very last page so let's address the elephant in the room that I know you're asking what is
what is this up here at the top well this will be present in every application that requires setup when you first start your database these steps are covered in the individual app tutorials and documentation but now let's say that I would like to select some of my documents which are often referred to as records in ODU if I click on this little check boox over here to the left of the word number in the column header I could select all of the documents or records on the page when I do that a couple more options
present themselves at the top for instance and I have the option to print when I click on the print button right there it gives me more options allows me to print them as various documents I can also have some actions that I can choose from as well let's click on the actions button so I can talk about that and there's quite a lot in the accents dropdown menu I have the option to export which will basically export the selected records I can even insert them into a spreadsheet an ODU spreadsheet can even duplicate them or
delete them I also have some sales specific actions inside of this menu I can create an ACR Revenue entry as well because I have the accounting application installed I also have the option to cancel quotations in whole in Mass we can select multiple I can also even Mark quotations as scent or send a cart recovery email as well because I have the e-commerce module installed but right now let's deselect all of our records over there and that's so that I can get the search bar again over here now if I look at my search bar
I see that I already have this automatic filter applied so ODU only shows me my quotations I remove this by selecting the X over there which is how you can remove filters I will see all the quotations inside of my database not just the ones assigned to me I can also add some other filters as well by opening the mega dropdown menu which it's a real term right there I have some standards here that I can choose from if I just want to see basic quotations and stuff like that I can group them by other
options as well maybe I want to see quotations from last month well that's actually not going to be a problem to do that I'd click on the word create date over here and select the previous month which in our case now is April and boom none just like that but let's assume something else I want to add a group ey option to my results as well if I wanted to let's pick them month that has some so let's go back to Q4 NOP Q3 nope oh 2023 let's do Q three right there all of them
we have one right there we can also group them if we would like to by salesperson as well and once we do that and we move away from here would you look at that we have Mark demo immediately being shown and now I can see which salesperson has had some sales orders in the last previous time and that's all from the search bar I can basically see all of the sales orders that each person has done if I click rid of this and look at that now we can see each one per person I also
can make some filters my default or favorites by reopening the search up here at the top as you can tell we can save our current search as a favorite as well doing so reveals some other options if you do that as well which allows me to choose whether or not to make this my default filter maybe it's the one I want to see all the time or shared as well to share it with others I can even give this favorite filter a new custom title so in my case let's assume that I want to just
save whatever I have right now as shared then we also got to give this a name quotations by person then we hit save just like that we have all of that you will see that your favorite filter is just saved and shared easily accessible inside of the search filter menu and it's underneath its own little section right there and that's very cool but we're going to go ahead and remove it because we don't want to mess with people we're making these things as we go I'm going to actually reopen the filter menu once again over
here I can also click on add custom filters as well if I would like to and that's in the bottom left corner over here doing so perhaps I'd like to see BU abandoned carts Maybe by a specific date or anything else for that matter fortunately ODU provides a ton of options to choose from inside of here but let's say that we only have our group by sales feature you know salesperson over here filter present once again so let's go grouping by salesperson once again from here we can also view our data and Records in different
ways the default is list view which you can see right there but we also have the option for camand view which I'm going to click right now and this actually makes it look a little bit more clear I like the camand view a lot because we can see different columns organized by our salespeople since we have the salesperson filter on this is particularly cool because we can actually drag and drop sales orders inside of this view for example let's say that I would like Mark demo my salesperson to take over one of Mitchell admins we
can just Rob Mitchel immediately like that and drop it under and we're done just like that and if I would like to we can do something else well let's open that one up and if we select on the other info tab over here look at that Mark is right there as a salesperson for this one just in case you didn't see that right there we're going back over to our quotations stealing another one over there and now it doesn't say Mitchell it says Mark let's go back over to our quotations CU I want to show
you some other stuff so we also have the option for a calendar view over here which is basically oo is going to show you all the sales orders that were created on various dates we can access the various records from here as well simply by clicking on an actual sales order if we wanted to our case we'd have to go pretty far back I think which is fine it happens we also have a pivot table View over here now ODU shows us a pivot chart of our data you can even open this measures drop down
option over here to change and add different measure types as well if needed we can just basically just add these as you go just make it bigger bigger is better then finally oh well not finally we have another option which is the graph View and when we select it we can also change the graph types here too by clicking on the icons such as a line chart or my favorite which happens to be a pie chart over here and the line chart you can even actually change the way that certain things are displayed you can
have a descending ascending and other options like that you can also even insert this chart into an ODU spreadsheet by clicking on the insert in spreadsheet button right there and the very last one we have is activity view over here when we click on the activity clock icon ODU shows us our scheduled activities on different documents I can see the column headers themselves are the different activity types email call and everything and the roow headers themselves happen to ALS so be the sales order numbers the red activity blocks are overdue and I'm seeing a lot
of red and the green ones are due in the future each block has the activity due date on it I can view and edit the information by clicking on an activity for example let's click on a random one like this one inside of here you'll notice that I can see what the activity is and even schedule additional activities in case I need more red in my life we do that by just clicking on schedule an activity filling out this popup over here and super convenient as you can tell but right now we're actually going to
select cancel don't need to do that right now so after you do that I think it's time for us to go back over to our camand view over here and open up a random one of these sales orders and something I want to point out here is that I have some fields in the top portion of this form which are in bold namely we have invoice address and delivery address Fields now that means that these fields must be filled in or you won't be able to save the document so like let's see what happens if
I try to delete this delivery address one that we have right there and then let's assume I try to go back to the quotations page and let ODU auto save oh look at that it doesn't let me ODU is saying I'm unable to save and I have this warning that popped up and even a red marker on that area it's telling me that I need to fix this that's why I need to make sure the mandatory fields are filled in before moving on so let's add the same customer back over to the delivery address again
perfect right there it should be noted and now I can actually save watch see we're good it should be noted that every document in ODU has an autosave feature but there's also a save manually button that you just saw me use up at the top you can use them whenever things change in all of our documents we also have some smart buttons at the top of the page as you can see right here the sales order itself for instance has some smart buttons related to the planning application different types of documents have different types of
smart buttons it just depends on what the other apps are installed and what records are meant to be linked together for example on the customer contact page which we can access by clicking directly on the name that we have right here pretty neat right there nice little Jose ignasio shortcut I have more smart buttons available up at the top quite a lot of them each of these are records in my database that are related to this customer so for example I could see all of their sales opportunities if I'm interested actually by clicking the Sal
smart button right there I can see Deco adct sales right there as a fullon list related to them or I can use what we call I've been saying this a lot breadcrumbs in the top left here which I've mentioned previously because they allow me to go back to previous Pages for example I could return back to the customer form just by selecting the name again right there and we're back over here breadcrumbs keep a record of all the steps that we've taken through the application you're going to see me say things like Wonderbread pumper nickel
this is what it means for instance I can actually see that I started inside of quotations made myself made myself go into the sales order and then from the sales order we went into Deco addicts contact card over here and that's how this all works I can always see every single movement from the breadcrumb so be sure to keep that in mind as you navigate through odor they're super useful okay right now let's go back to the sales order via the breadcrumbs which is Wonderbread so we're going to select sales order right there I want
