if you enjoy these programs please like And subscribe are you at peace with going to Hosea 6 which is talking about Ephraim explicitly are you are you at peace with that or are you a little worried about that all right moving the next color color 11 near please tell your name where are you calling from go ahead so um so your your question about you know in Luke where it says that it is written that um you know God is gonna rise up Jesus on the third day that that doesn't exist in the in the Torah um you know uh you know it doesn't specifically say that and you're correct on that but it what what they're referring to is that it's you know you gotta I guess you could say read between the lines but it's an illusion or a symbol of perhaps where Jonah was in the belly of the fish for three days or even you could maybe read into Hosea 6 where it says on the third day he will raise us up um and I just say think that it's you know not totally fair to you know how do you feel about that and William this is the man I want to keep on do you feel at peace with that in First Corinthians 15 Paul says to that Christ die for our sins according to the scripture and that he was buried and he was raised on the third day according to the scripture that's a fantastic claim right are you at peace with going to Hosea 6 which is talking about Ephraim explicitly are you are you at peace with that or are you a little worried about that no no no no I'm absolutely comfortable with that because there's you know and I'm sure you're completely aware of this that Christians believe that the the the the the life and death and resurrection of Jesus is is entirely alluded to through many things throughout the Old Testament one example being how Jesus was killed on Passover you know like as if he was the Passover Lamb in the entire story of Passover when they were in Egypt you know with the blood um protecting them from the angel of death being a a an absolute illusion the question is then what religion then could be dismissed if scripture is so elastic here we have in Hosea chapter 6 where it says literally in context it's talking about Ephraim what does Ephraim mean that's the lead tribe of the northern kingdom right and what happens to them during the first day meaning the first in this case the First Commonwealth of verse table they're carried off who's Hosea speaking to the Northern Kingdom of Israel I mean this is the context of Hosea right we have the first day it means the first period they're gone and the second temple they're gone they'll return in the third Commonwealth so it's clearly talking about Ephraim and if scripture really is so elastic that you can take Jonah who was in the belly of in this marine animal for three days and three nights and so will Christ be in the Tomb then what is impermissible what theology then could be dismissed because it's not loyal to scripture now in truth if a Roman Catholic wants to believe that all right Roman Catholic could say I believe in Tradition we have a tradition we have an oral tradition but a Protestant like why would you find this acceptable what religious claim could then be dismissed the Passover Lamb was not a sin offering the Passover Lamb didn't die for anyone since quite the contrary the Passover Lamb Illustrated that a person who feared God more than the Egyptian soldiers because we already told in Exodus chapter 8. in a well-known conversation where Pharaoh asked Mosin Aaron like why do you need to bring your sacrifices outside of bring them here well the lamb was a God to the Egyptians like in India like in Hindu India you're not allowed to molest a cow because it's sacred to the Hindus the the lamb was sacred to the Egyptians and in fact Moses responds to Pharaoh was because if we Slaughter your Abomination here you'll kill us it's in the text here you're called upon as a member of the children of Israel to do the following take the Egyptian god the lamb Tire to your bedpost on 10th day sacrifice it on the 14th day well maybe we should just do this in the basement no no I want you to take the blood and I want you to put it on the outside of the lentil of your door that means you're making a public display of this what are you doing you're doing very much what Abraham did Abraham was willing to risk losing his own child because of his loyalty to God is your fear of the god of Israel greater than your fear of the Egyptian soldiers whose Spears you can see with your own eyes there's no mention anywhere in Exodus chapter 12 nothing that is a sin offering nothing nowhere now in the New Testament Jesus is sent offering Jesus pays the price for our sins that's never found anywhere in the Torah nowhere there are sin offerings Leviticus 4 Leviticus 5 is a guilt offering a Yom Kippur offering but this is not a Passover offering never this is all made up and I want to Grant you this if theology it could be so elastic that you could take something in the Bible that has nothing to do with the Messiah nothing to do with the Messiah dying for anybody since nothing and rearrange it to say oh this is Jesus what religion then could be dismissed moreover the claim of the church is not that I could take a story about Jonah in the whale and notice I'm not being pedantic I'm not being picky you and I'm not going to go well he was in the Jesus was in the Tomb for two nights not three ignore that okay what does that have to do with being in the belly of the whale what I mean it's in Matthew 12. the sign of the whale isn't that insane to you as a Christian that the New Testament could only find the feature of Jonah being in the belly of the well for three days and three nights the that that's what you that's what you that's the takeaway from the Book of Jonah or that the people of ninvee testify against you it's the same text in Matthew 12.
really that's the takeaway from the Book of Jonah I don't think so look whoever you are your Soul's at stake read the Book of Jonah it's a story about a people who I would think are they can't be redeemed they're worse than you and me and God forgave them because they repented children chapter 3 verse 10. if you can take Ephraim which is the lead tribe of the northern ten tribes they are the antagonists of the book of Hosea for those who don't know this Hosea was a contemporary of Isaiah he lived in the north What's called the Kingdom of Israel Ephraim was the lead Kingdom right that's why it God one day is going to restore Ephraim with Judah and that's Ezekiel 37. if you could take a text where Ephraim is going to be gone Brian was carried off the ten Northern tribes we carried off during the first temple during the reign of huskyo who by the Assyrian Empire and that's what's predicted in Hosea that's what if you even read normal Christian commentary then I'll tell you this I'm not talking about snake handlers in the Appalachians I'm talking about normal the little admit this look if context is not determinative then we live in an alternative universe the truth right so if Jose is talking about the northern kingdom that they're they're they're gone on the first day the day here means the first temple they make it to the second temple they were gone by then the second day they're gone that's the metaphors in view there it explicitly identifies Ephraim and what do I say to you kendallah look it up for yourself and if only Christians would see that same chapter Hosea chapter 6 verse 6 where it says like God doesn't want sacrifices look I don't want to patronize you sound like you're probably a nice fellow but had you come to even think to look up Hosea 6.
there's no way in the world you would have done that on your own you had to have gone to a Christian Bible that is stuck in a conundrum explaining away Luke um 24 Corinthians 15. and why doesn't Paul quote the verse Paul says according to the scripture that's how verse 3 ends according to the scripture this is why Paul and other places say this is a grand mystery I mean if it's so obvious in the Bible why is Paul saying there's a mystery and nobody knows about I'll tell you about it in First Corinthians same book chapter 2 7-8 and it was so clear that the Messiah supposed to die and rise on the third day why does Paul say in the same book but at the beginning of the book First Corinthians chapter 2 verse 7 and 8 he says that if the rulers of the epoch would have known this mystery they would have never crucified Jesus they would never crucified in his words the Lord Of Glory what are you talking about I thought it's in Hosea 6. it isn't this is all a card game it's a scam and I also would submit to you that this is why you I'm presuming you're a Protestant and that you you're not fond of Roman Catholicism right this is why you the Protestant reject the Roman Catholic Church because they teach stuff that's not clearly in the Bible right you know I'm telling the truth you know I'm not mischaracterizing what Evangelical Christians believe why do you as a Christian reject the Church of the Latter-Day Saints why why do you reject the claims of you don't think and bring them young they don't have apologetics with aches have all these stories in the Old Testament they're all point to John Smith they got all that stuff they got a great debate team incidentally like Champion debate team they know all that stuff but you don't accept it why the reason why you don't accept all these metaphors these torturous claims is because it's not clearly in the Bible and any person that reads the first four verses of First Corinthians 15 anybody if you don't believe me please don't believe me open up First Corinthians 15 and read the first four passages it says that he did it according to the scripture what frame was that I'm doing anything you understand so please I encourage Protestants to be honest and consistent in your theology in your biblical hermeneutics and apply the same standards that you apply to why you reject other religions because if I ask you well they've got there the Greek the Orthodox Greek restaurant they don't have all kinds of explanations for why they're they can have idols and icons and they don't use the the crew them the angel the carved in they use all that stuff they use all of it and their stuff is better than this don't take that personally but that's just the way it is and perhaps what Christians are doing is they're in a predicament and that is there's nothing like this in the Hebrew Bible and maybe that's why Paul makes a big deal of this the word mystery is all over Paul because Paul's Christianity is the is the ultimate in the mystery religion and Gnostic religion that means pull has access to the true Revelation salvation directly from Jesus Christ he didn't get it from the apostles in Jerusalem Galatians 1 and 2.
this is all over Paul and that is a mystery that only he knows please read the first five verses of Ephesians chapter three and incidentally my friends I've asked you to look up the first five passengers look up Ephesians 3 3. what are you going to encounter exactly what Rabbi singer just said I didn't take it out of context I didn't mis-translate it I didn't misappropriate it that's exactly what Paul is saying that he has the Revelation to unlock the mystery of solid you know how outrageous that means that means only people who knew pull would know no one else knew it what do you mean I thought you have Isaiah 53 I thought you have Hosea 6.
