archaeological discoveries prove the truth of the Bible Daniel 4:30 confirmed something that many had not believed for many years in Daniel 4:30 the king said thoughtfully is this not Babylon the great which I have built as a royal residence and seat of government by the power of my might and for the honor and Glory of my Majesty according to Daniel 4:30 Daniel knew that the new Babylon was created by Nebuchadnezzar which was previously considered false but was later verified by recent archaeology nobody thought that Nebuchadnezzar had built the new Babylon during the mime period this
belief was based on a lack of archaeological evidence to support it however archaeological excavations have confirmed that Nebuchadnezzar did indeed build the city of New Babylon this discovery shed new light on the subject revealing that previous assumptions were incorrect it is interesting to note that the Bible was already aware of this fact even before it was confirmed by these Recent research findings new Babylon was a significant undertaking and its construction involved the use of advanced engineering techniques the creation of this city by Nebuchadnezzar was a reflection of his ambition and desire to establish a powerful
Empire despite the skepticism surrounding the construction of the new Babylon it is now clear that Nebuchadnezzar's vision and determination enabled him to create one of the most impressive empires in the ancient world imagine that a time when the lines between Immortal gods were blurred when a king was not just a ruler but a God himself such was the reign of nabos donur who commanded not just respect but adoration from his subjects his rule was characterized by an aura of mystery and religious fervor he was an incredibly significant individual so much so that no one in
the world could compare him the very idea of disrespecting his servants let alone speaking out of turn to him directly was enough to send shivers down anyone's spine King nabuko donur wielded unprecedented power and privilege that exceeded most people in history he built a vast and Powerful Empire that ended up subjugating two other great civilizations Assyria and Egypt he held more control over the world during his Reign than any other man before him however his written testimony reveals that his wealth and power gradually intoxicated him he became increasingly arrogant and his position as the most
powerful man on Earth gave him a distorted and inflated view of life and the world around him in the British museum you can find six Columns of ancient writing dating back to the Babylonian era these columns provide a fascinating insight into the reign of King Nabu chodor and his ambitious building projects aimed at transforming the city the inscriptions on these columns offer a glimpse into the king's desire to improve the city's infrastructure architecture and general Aesthetics these columns are considered significant historical artifacts most of the bricks discovered during the Babylonian excavations bear the inscription naush
shodor King of Babylon supporter of sagula and Aida exalted firstborn of nabopolassar King of Babylon the Bible tells us a lot about this man who is the greatest of his time this King fell by the hand of God and praised the god of Israel Nebuchadnezzar married a beautiful princess from the mountains of Persia where the capital of Iran is now located she arrived at Nebuchadnezzar's Palace but quickly became homesick she missed the mountains the trees and the wild animals when nabuko learned the reason for his dissatisfaction he immediately undertook to rectify the situation he built
an enormous brick Mountain and adorned it with a variety of trees shrubs and plants its stunning appearance earned it a place as one of the Seven Wonders of the World the Hanging Gardens of Babylon the Hanging Gardens of Babylon have attracted many visitors above the gardens a private zoo of exotic animals was built to entertain the king's wife who was unfamiliar with babylon's flat surroundings one day he was standing on the roof of his magnificent Palace when he suddenly realized what he had achieved isn't this the great Babylon I built for my own power and
Glory he asked himself feeling proud and fulfilled he fell asleep and dreamed Daniel 4 is the only story in the Old Testament where a person is transformed into an animal similar to the classic motif of metamorphosis think of the scene in Pinocchio when the boys turn into donkeys or or the numerous tales of the Roman poet oid where the gods transform humans into creatures that represent their tragic flaws the text portrays nabuko donur fate as follows he was banished from Human Society and ate grass like an evil animal his body was drenched with the Dew
of heaven and his hair grew as long as an eagle's feathers his nails were like the claws of a bird that's the stuff of fairy Tales what happened to nabuko donur and what does it mean this isn't your typical narrative fairy tale or a representation of a delusional mind it's a moving depiction of how God instructs the proud to honor his name Nebuchadnezzar and the animal mind in chapter 4 of The Book of Daniel we find Nebuchadnezzar the Babylonian King relaxing in his Palace when he had a dream the dream however was no ordinary dream
the details of the dream are not revealed until later in the chapter but it is clear that it deeply Disturbed nabuk the donor and weighed heavily on his mind Daniel 4: 10-3 Amplified Bible the visions that passed through my mind as I lay on my bed were these I was looking and behold there was a tree in the midst of the Earth and its height was great the tree grew and became strong and its height reached the sky and was visible to the end of the Earth its leaves were beautiful and its fruit abundant and
in it there was food for everyone the beasts of the field found shade under it and the birds of the sky nested in its branches and all living creatures fed on it behold I saw in the visions of my mind while I was lying on my bed an Angelic Watchman a saint coming down from heaven he shouted in a loud voice and said cut down the tree and cut off its branches shake off its leaves and Scatter its fruit let living creatures flee from under it and birds fly from its branches however leave the stump
with its roots in the ground tied with a band of iron and bronze in the new grass of the field and let it be wet with the the Dew of heaven and feed with the animals in the grass of the Earth let his mind and nature be changed from that of a man to that of an animal and let the mind and nature of an animal be given to him and let seven periods of time pass over him this sentence is by the decree of the Angelic Watchers and the decision is a command of the
Saints so that the living may know without any doubt that the most high God rules over the the kingdom of men and grants it to whomever he wishes and places over it the humblest and least of men this is the dream that I King Nebuchadnezzar had now you belshazzar explain its meaning for none of the wise men of my kingdom are able to reveal its interpretation to me but you are able for a spirit of the saints of God is in you then Daniel whose Babylonian name was belto shazar was stunned and speechless for a
while because he was deeply concerned about the king's fate and his thoughts alarmed him the king said belto shazar don't let the dream or its interpretation frighten you belto shazar replied my Lord let the dream apply to those who hate you and its message to your enemies the tree you saw which became great and strong whose height reached the sky and which was visible to all the Earth whose foliage was beautiful and its fruit abundant and in which there was food for all under which the beasts of the field lived and in whose branches the
birds of the sky nested is You O King who have become great and grown strong your greatness has increased and reaches to heaven and your Dominion to the ends of the Earth and as for the king seeing an Angelic Watchman a saint coming down from heaven and saying cut down the tree and destroy it but leave the stump with its roots in the Earth with a band of iron and bronze around it in the new grass of the field and let it be wet with the Dew of heaven and let them feed on the beasts
of the field until seven periods of time pass over it this is the interpretation oh King and it is the decree of the most high God that has come upon my Lord the king you will be expelled from humanity and your dwelling will be with the beasts of the field and you will be given to eat grass like cattle and you will be wet with the Dew of heaven and seven periods of time will pass over you until you know beyond any doubt that the most high God rules over the kingdom of men and grants
it to whomever he wishes and in what you have been commanded to leave the stump of the roots of the tree your kingdom will be restored to you after you have fully recognized and understood that heaven rules therefore O King may my advice be pleasing to you turn away now from your sins and show repentance by doing what is right and from your wickedness by showing Mercy to the poor so that if you repent there may be a continuation of your prosperity and tranquility and a healing of your error all this happened to Nebuchadnezzar the
king 12 months later he was walking on the upper level of the Royal Palace of Babylon the king said thoughtfully is this not the great Babylon that I myself have built as a royal residence and a seat of government by the power of my might and for the honor and Glory of my Majesty this punishment represents a fall in the hierarchy of the created order from being a universal protective provider to becoming someone who needs provision and protection a lowly Beast Psalm 8: 5-7 Amplified Bible yet you made him a little lower than God and
crowned him with Glory and Honor you made him have dominion over the works of his hands and put all things under his feet all the sheep and oxen and also the beasts of the field the birds of the air and the fish of the sea as well as the birds and the beasts found shelter and sustenance under the gra tree at that very moment the sentence was passed on to Nebuchadnezzar he was expelled from Human Society and began to eat grass like cattle and his body was drenched with the Dew of Heaven his hair grew
like the feathers of an eagle and his nails became like the talons of a bird seven periods of time passed as predicted by the Divine sentence until Nebuchadnezzar recognized and confessed that the most most high God rules over the kingdom of men his reason and understanding were restored and he praised exalted and honored God who lives forever Nebuchadnezzar declared now I Nebuchadnezzar praise exalt and glorify the king of Heaven for all that he does is right and all his ways are just and those who walk in Pride he can humble the account goes on to
to detail the king's restoration and the confirmation of his kingdom in the same hour my understanding returned to me and the glory of my kingdom my Splendor and my Majesty were also restored my counselors and officials sought me out and I was reestablished on my Royal Throne an even greater position of power and Glory has been added to me therefore I Nebuchadnezzar Now Praise extol and glorify the king of Heaven all his works are true and his ways are just he can humble those who walk in Pride this biblical narrative highlights Nebuchadnezzar's forced humility and
his subsequent restoration after recognizing Divine sovereignty the story emphasizes the importance of recognizing God's Authority and highlights how human arrogance can lead to a fall this story serves as a lesson in the importance of humility and recognizing Divine Supremacy we have reached the end of our video and I hope you like it don't forget to subscribe and leave a comment on the video continue watching videos about the history of the Bible I will leave two recommendations here on the screen God bless you we will get to the next video
