this is raw milk for beginners in this video I'm going to tell you all about raw milk why you should drink it where to get it questions about safety health benefits and what to do if you are lactose intolerant at the end I'll give a little bit of commentary about how crazy it is that something as valuable as raw dairy from cows or goats or other mammals is illegal but let's jump right into it now what about safety right from the beginning let me tell you this raw milk has has gotten a bad wrap guys
raw milk doesn't spoil raw milk ages raw milk becomes something called clobber milk it actually ferments naturally and I'll put on the screen a picture of an experiment done with raw milk that was aged for a very long time compared to pasteurized milks I believe this milk was aged for months and you can see the raw milk compared to the pasteurized milks is the only milk that did not develop mold and fungus this is because raw milk contains many naturally occurring bioactive components that are beneficial and protective and prevent it from becoming a pathogenic breeding
ground things like lactoperoxidase immune cells like nutrifil macrophages and immunoglobulins which are antibodies all of these are contained in raw milk it is a bioactive alive fluid there are over 700 species of commensal bacteria that are also present in raw milk how many are in pasturized milk zero and that allows pasteurized milk to become a breeding ground for pathogens if those pathogens survive the pasteurization process or if that pasteurized milk becomes contaminated there are also multiple components of raw milk that help protect the gut from absorption of pathogenic substances like oligosaccharides polysaccharides and other immune
factors there are multiple Farms that are doing raw milk now at scale and doing rigorous testing to ensure quality consistency and freedom from any contaminants but in general if you trust your farmer and you know how they're producing it raw milk is a very safe thing for humans to consume as are things like cafir raw cheese and raw butter which I'm going to talk about in a moment and essentially raw milk has gotten a bad wrap from the history of the introduction of raw milk into the mainstream populace over a hundred years ago when the
cows were being milked in really substandard conditions very poor hygienic conditions for those cows and they were being fed swill which is the spent byproducts of alcohol fermentation they were basically being fed complete garbage milked in very unsanitary conditions and that is how raw milk got a bad wrap over a hundred years ago so raw milk can be safe for humans of all ages as long as you know the farmers that are producing it and they're upholding good quality standards it is inherently safe let's talk all about the benefits of raw milk in the scientific
literature so if you look at the research on raw milk it's actually pretty astounding there are many studies showing that kids who grow up drinking raw milk who live on or off of farms have lower rates of asthma eczema and allergies when they're adults I personally suffered with all of those things throughout my life until I shifted to a carnivore and then an animal-based diet I've now been drinking raw milk for probably the last two and a half years and all of those conditions in my life are much better I wish I'd had raw milk
as a kid but my parents didn't know about it and I think raw milk has gotten a bad wrap incorrectly there's also a significant amount of evidence that raw milk is beneficial in reducing respiratory tract infections in children so improving the immune system of children in fact this benefit of raw milk raw cow's milk is what's studied specifically in this research is equivalent to the protection kids get from breastfeeding I'll say that again for emphasis raw cow's milk appears to be as protective in preventing respiratory track infections in kids as human breast milk it's incredible
how much crossover there is is between raw mamalian milk whether from cows goats camels even horse milk is drunk in some parts of the world other types of Maman milk and human milk these milks are very similar and the medical research would suggest that humans breastfeeding an infant is the best thing for that baby and Maman raw milk is essentially almost as beneficial as that there's even anecdotal reports of women who were struggling with breastfeeding drinking raw cow's milk and having significant improvements in milk let down and milk production which allow them to breastfeed their
infants without any problems moving forward so incredible stuff with raw milk all around raw milk is also known to benefit the human gut and there are multiple studies showing that the consumption of raw cow's milk changes the populations of bacteria in the microbiome in your gut favorably specifically increasing populations of lactobacillus organisms anecdotally what I've seen is that raw cows milk raw goats milk are some of the single best interventions that humans can use to fix a damaged gut that has been damaged by seed oils processed foods lectins in Foods glutenous grains which are creating
inflammation and activation of the immune system and the lamin appropria around the gut and pesticides and the antibiotics that are heaped upon all of this listen I grew up in a medical family I got way too many antibiotics as a kid and I'm sure that my gut took the brunt of that as well I'm sure you got lots of antibiotics as well so one of the ways that I think about raw milk is essentially almost being able to return to breastfeeding we know that when a baby is born and a mother is able to nurse
that baby from her breast that that is how the gut is programmed that is an incredibly powerful thing that the mother can do to program the baby's gut and set up the immune system for health long term we see that in the studies with asthma eczema and Allergy rates lower longterm lower rates of respiratory tract infections Etc raaman milk in some ways is being able to return to breastfeeding without actually being able to return to breastfeeding that's at least my take on it nutritionally we also know that raw milk is the single best source of
MSM a compound that has been studied over and over and found to be beneficial for osteoarthritis for humans so if you have achy joints if you have pain in your knees or elbows or shoulders and you're thinking about improving your joints I would recommend eating things like trachea collagen scapular collagen bone marrow but also raw milk for a source of MSM so where do you get raw milk say you're bought in you want to try raw milk well part of the tragedy here is that in many states in the United States raw milk cannot be
legally sold directly to you as a consumer in some states like California you can go to grocery stores and find it which is amazing and when I was recently in California I visited and spent time on the largest raw dairy farm in the world it was really incredible to see how they raise the cows how they prepare it how they make it safely but if you are not living in California or other states where raw milk is sold in grocery stores you can go to realmilk.com and there is a raw milk finder there even in
states where raw milk cannot be legally sold directly to you as a consumer like Texas for instance or Virginia you can be a part of a co-op or directly connect with a farmer and obtain this lifegiving substance that humans have had access to for thousands and thousands of years so realmilk.com is where I go whenever I travel to a new state in the United States in fact it's worldwide so wherever you are in the world that is the place to go to look for sources of raw milk near you sometimes it takes a little bit
of work to find Farmers or connect with Farms but believe me it is worth the effort if you are lactose intolerant it's also important to understand that raw milk is known to contain bacteria that produce the lactase enzyme so most people who are lactose intolerant can drink raw milk I was lactose intolerant before I started drinking raw milk and this is what I suggest if you are sensitive to lactose nobody really wants to have excess gas or loose stools so if you are sensitive to lactose start slowly with raw milk drink a little bit of
raw milk every day maybe a tablespoon or two per day and you can build up as those bacteria and raw milk start to do the good work in your body and produce that lactase enzyme in your gut also you can ferment your milk that will reduce the lactose so this is raw goats milk and this is goat cafir made from raw goats milk how do you make cfir some people say kefir this is a long running debate it's definitely cfir but you use cfir grains which you can buy online and you add them to the
milk and then you leave the milk at room temperature for 24 to 48 hours when I visited this raw dairy farm in California they were making raw cafir with a cafir culture they fermented it at about 78 de for 24 hours and as you can see while raw milk is liquid rock cfir is going to be a different consistency as I pour this you'll also probably be able to hear that there's some fermentation going on here so that is thicker and different consistency than raw milk because that is raw cafir and you can see the
bubbles in there and it tastes a little differently so that is going to be extra fermented that has less lactose and that has the benefits of increased probiotic organisms from the cfer cultures you can also do raw cheese this is parmesano reano cheese which is one of the Italian cheeses that has very stringent standards for the production of the milk the quality of the cows and the actual raw processing of the cheese a lot of raw cheese out there is kind of fake Raw cheese and it says on the back label that it's heated to
153 Dees Fahrenheit that's not truly raw cheese if you want raw cheese that cheese should really not be heated over 102 or 103 degrees fenhe so know what the quality of the raw cheese you're eating is also raw butter is a good source of nutrients for humans raw cheese and raw butter and raw cafir much lower levels of lactose raw butter is particularly valuable for humans because we know that over 60% of the the biologically active immune factors in raw milk are found in the fat so this is a concentrated source of immune factors in
a butter so raw butter don't just discount this raw butter is not just fat raw butter is immunologically active powerful medicine quote unquote for humans it's a very valuable thing in your diet that is a health food in fact all of these are clearly Health Foods also consider that if you're sensitive to lactose a goat's milk is going to be easier to tolerate than a cow's milk because it BAS it contains about 25% less lactose than cow's milk so in summary raw milk is delicious it's beneficial for humans in many ways in fact probably similarly
protective to actually breastfeeding for humans and has been beneficial in women who are struggling with breastfeeding raw Mill contains multiple factors which have been shown to protect it from being a pathogen breeding ground factors that are protective for your gut protective for your body it is a live fluid is a live thing that actually benefits humans and that we've been drinking for thousands and thousands of years it's pretty easy to obtain going at to realmilk.com and there are multiple ways to consume raw dairy if you are lactose intolerant my takea away from all of this
the more that I've done research on raw milk is that this is one of the most healing things that very few humans have access to especially those of you with autoimmune issues joint issues like I said with MSM and gut issues I would definitely recommend you consider including some form of truly raw dairy in your diet to me it's a travesty it's actually more than that it's criminal that raw milk is illegal in many states in the United States in Canada in Australia when this is one of the most healing foods that humans can eat
