Hello everyone and welcome back to my channel! Or welcome, if this is the first video you watch on my channel. Let's take a break from grammar lessons and vocabulary lessons and have a little chat.
And let's talk about the plans for the summer. These last few days I've been thinking "but what can I do this summer? Where can I go this summer?
". And then I look at the calendar and realize that summer has already arrived. Summer has already started!
We are at the end of June, but there is still the whole of July to be organised, there is still the whole of August to be organised, and the first half of September. I have big plans for the first week, the first two weeks of September, as my partner and I were invited to a wedding in Sicily. And I can't wait to go to this wedding!
It's been a long time since I've felt this excited about something. So I am very happy to go to Sicily and participate in this wedding. My first Sicilian wedding!
It will be great, I already know! Our idea is to extend the stay a few days before the wedding and also a few days after the wedding, so as to have our holiday because otherwise there are no trips or holidays planned for us this summer. Because I have work commitments until the first week of August and therefore I can't leave.
I could leave and take the computer with me, but it wouldn't be a real vacation. Because my idea of a vacation is without a computer and disconnected from the internet for a few days. So until the first week of August there is no holiday!
Anyone who has read "The Betrothed" by Alessandro Manzoni will have caught this quote. So since there are no holidays in sight for the moment, I would like to organize trips out of town, day trips just to get out of the city a bit or even stay in the city and do some activities that I usually don't do. That would be a great plan too.
My biggest problem is that I have so many ideas, I would like to do so many things, but in the end I can never do anything that I would like to do for fun. As far as work is concerned I get to do almost everything I want to do or what I plan to do. As for my private life, I feel a bit stuck right now.
But I would like to commit. So, just to carry on this commitment, I bought tickets for two concerts in July. The first concert is by Gigi D'Alessio and I will go there with my mum.
She is very happy to go, me too. It will be very fun! And the second concert, which by the way is on the same weekend.
So it will be a weekend of fire. I think there are only two days between one concert and another. However, the second concert is that of Ultimo at the Stadio Olimpico.
I already know that I will cry like never before, but it will be a kind of therapy. It will do me good. And I go to the Ultimo concert with my sister.
I know that many of you listen to Ultimo and that thanks to his songs many of you have learned to use the subjunctive. I was very pleased to read these comments that some of you sent me on Instagram some time ago, because it was on the occasion of Sanremo. I asked you which were your favorite artists competing in Sanremo and many told me Ultimo and also explained why.
Who knows if there will ever be a chance to tell Ultimo, maybe! Then, for the rest, just yesterday I also planned a sort of photo shoot with my friend Haizea, who is a photographer. I think this is the third or fourth photo shoot we do together.
She takes beautiful photos, I really like the atmosphere she manages to create in these photos. I decided to work with her again because I need a boost in my self-confidence and I already know that she will take great pictures of me. So this will help me regain some enthusiasm.
Another thing I could do is go to the sea near Rome. By close I mean 45-50 minutes by car or an hour by train, because in some of these seaside resorts there are stations. So it is possible to go there by train from Rome from Termini Station or even from Tiburtina, even from Ostiense.
In short, you have to check the regional trains that go to the seaside resorts on the Trenitalia website . A couple of places I like are Santa Marinella and Santa Severa. Santa Severa is very pretty because there's a castle on the beach, there's a castle on the beach.
It is a beautiful medieval fortress overlooking the sea, because it is right on the beach and therefore very impressive. And there is a free beach, there is also an equipped beach. So you can decide whether you want to go to the beach with all the umbrellas, deck chairs, etc.
, or rent an umbrella there on the beach. And these are all locations to the north. If, on the other hand, you want to go south, there is obviously Ostia, but for me Ostia is far away, because I am in the northern part of Rome.
For those who are in southern Rome, Ostia is very close. Otherwise there is also Fregene. Fregene, on the other hand, is halfway between the places I have just listed.
And then another thing I'd like to do this summer is take a break from all things content creation, and I think I'll do that in August. I'm coming to the conclusion that I have to do it, because I need to disconnect and I need to recharge my energies to then be more creative and more performing from September onwards. Because now I realize that I'm struggling.
I'm tired and, let's say, I get lost in the whirlwind of ideas, thoughts. I actually have a lot of ideas for the channel, but I can't put them into practice, I can't make them come true right now. And so this means that I have to take a step back, take a break and recharge my batteries because I really need it.
And so this I will do in August. August is a very quiet month here in Italy. In Rome, specifically, it is a very quiet month, because the city is empty.
They all go out of town, they all go on vacation. In reality there are always some tourists in Rome, but for example in the residential districts there is nobody. So the streets are empty with no cars, no mopeds, there are only the buses that continue to pass.
But otherwise it's beautiful. There is an indescribable peace. Sure, it's a bit lonely as a situation, but that's okay.
And then this year I would like to take the opportunity of free roads, empty roads in August to learn to ride a moped. I want to rent electric mopeds and learn to ride them, because I'm not able to ride a moped. I never had a scooter even in my adolescence, because my parents have always forbidden me.
So I always went by bus and then when the driving license age came , i. e. 18, I got the car license directly.
So I've always only driven cars, but I would like to learn how to drive an electric moped. I tried it once, it's not difficult because they are very small and it feels a bit like being on a bicycle. I tried to take it to a parking lot though, I've never tried riding a moped on the street.
So maybe in August, precisely, with the streets empty and free, it will be an excellent opportunity to practice and learn. What else to say? Nothing actually.
That's all I wanted to tell you, so let me know in the comments below. What are your plans for the summer? I am very curious to read them.
And nothing, as always I thank you for watching this video and we'll see you in the next one. See you soon! HI!
