[Music] Hello everyone and welcome back to my channel! Today's vlog will be much calmer than the last vlog I published, because in the last vlog we went around: to the centre, to the office, to the Treccani headquarters, we ate out, we went around. .
. In short, it was a very full day, completely away from home. I have to be honest, it's not the norm for me.
My daily life is more like this: sitting at home in front of the computer. And so today's vlog will be quieter in that sense, which is that we'll probably spend more time at home. In this vlog I certainly spent a lot more time at home this week, also because of the rain, because these days it's been raining cats and dogs in Rome.
So I don't even have that impulse to say: "Today I want to record some content outside", because obviously, with the rain. . .
hm. . .
the recordings aren't that great. I'll show you that I'm currently working on the materials for the first one. When the screen is split in two, things get serious, in short.
I would like to take a short break, but I'll take a few moments to show you the books that were given to me at Christmas and which I therefore intend to read in the next few weeks. To be honest, I'm not reading that much. I'm having a bit of trouble reading at the moment.
. . never mind, I mean, it's not a big deal.
But anyway, I'll show you the books I plan to read. So, they are these two: this one, which is titled "Bone. Even dogs dream" by Michele Serra.
A friend of mine gave this to me for Christmas. And then the other is "The Japanese art of healing the wounds of the soul" by Tomas Navarro. Instead, my sister gave me this one, again for Christmas.
I'm currently reading one of the two books I bought in Philadelphia, specifically the one on Stoicism. Let's say it's not really a philosophy book, it's much lighter, let's say it's more, in my opinion, in the Self Help category, in the sense. .
. those self-help books. I don't even know what to call that category in Italian, because in Italian it is a genre that doesn't actually exist, but was imported from the United States.
No, all the self-help books have entered Italian bookstores recently. It is an extremely recent thing, because we have never had this literary genre. So, when you go to the bookshop here in Italy, pay attention: most of these books are actually translations of American books, in short.
And, between us, it's a genre I've never liked. I happened to read some of them, but I always had the impression that, throughout the book, the same things were always written but in a different way. So, I don't know, I always felt perplexed at the end of those books.
And so nothing, I undoubtedly prefer novels, fiction. I like fiction much more. I'll get back to the computer and probably, I hope, to see you again tomorrow, because tomorrow I intend to go towards the center a bit, then go out and do some content around the city.
It shouldn't rain tomorrow. I'm in Porta Pia. I'm heading towards a bookshop or a stationery shop, because I have to buy a new diary for 2025.
It's mid-January, but I still don't have a diary. I'm using the calendar on Google, but I don't find much of it, because I need to write things down on paper to have, so to speak, the concreteness of the things I have to do. And then I need it to have, so to speak, the feeling of a new beginning.
No? The year has begun, it's January, new beginning. Although starting new things in January is always a bit difficult, because January seems like a very long month.
And anyway it's winter, so it's not like there's all this desire to do things. It would be much better to start the new year in spring, as the ancient Romans did, precisely because nature is awakening. So there's just that feeling of wanting to do new things, of awakenings, in a way.
Okay, so let's see if I can find this planner. This is this afternoon's mission. Have you seen?
We made it out, it's sunny. And this here is Piazza di Porta Pia. Now you can't see very well, because I'm on the side, but now I have to go this way.
[Music] So, let's try the quality of this new video camera at night. I'm waiting for the bus to go home. It was a busy afternoon, in the end I didn't vlog as much as I wanted because I had to record other content.
But I'm satisfied, because I went to get the diary and I actually found one. . .
and I found one at 30% off! Which is great, because these planners usually cost too much. I took a weekly one, therefore divided into weeks, not the daily one, because I don't like it too much.
I prefer to have a complete view of the week. No, anyway, other than that, I'm satisfied that I found the diary, that I found it with a 30% discount, I recorded what I had to record and now I'm going home. And nothing, that's it.
The vlog obviously doesn't end here, because there will be other interesting days to vlog. There is a bus, but it's not mine. Anyway, there's a lot of noise now, so I'll stop recording here.
Uh, my bus! Good morning! I just got off the bus and it's Sunday.
It's also green Sunday, so that means a lot of cars can't drive today. Only the newer ones, Euro 5, Euro 6 and the electric ones, if I'm not mistaken. So my mom's car couldn't run today so I took the bus.
So, my mum's car couldn't travel today and I took the bus, although I would have really appreciated taking the car, because I have a backpack. . .
I don't know if you can see it, however I have a backpack full of bottles of drinks and a gift box. Because I'm going to a surprise party for a friend of mine who is expecting a baby girl. Everyone brings something to the party and I proposed to bring the drinks, not really thinking that it was eco-friendly Sunday, so I shot myself in the foot myself.
However, you can see the collar of the down jacket which is terribly dirty with foundation, it's really ugly to look at. I'm sorry, don't pay attention to it. I'm really tired this morning, I don't know if you can see my dark circles.
Then the thought that tomorrow we'll start all over again. . .
I don't have to think about it. I don't have to think about it! I have the bad habit of not thinking about what I'm doing in the moment, but of already thinking about tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, next week, next month.
I have to stop. Anyway, now I say goodbye because I have to check the address on my cell phone again for a moment, because I'm not sure where I'm going. I mean, I know where I'm going, but I don't remember the exact house number.
However, I don't know if you know this area: Viale Angelico, Circonvallazione Clodia. . .
We are not far from the Olympic stadium, we are not far from Ponte Milvio. Near here there is also an important RAI headquarters, there are the RAI television studios. I tried to record something while I was on the bus to show you, you know, the view from the windows, but the windows were so dirty that I don't think you could see anything.
[Music] I actually arrived, except that I'm half an hour early and I don't feel like going up, because the party is at the house of a person I don't know. If we had organized it at my friend's house, I would have gone up now. I would like to find an open bar, except I'm not even finding one to have a coffee, but.
. . Guys, I have a face!
No, whatever. Ah, here, this is open, perfect. "Goodbye everyone!
". Good morning! I'm in the center, I have two bags with me, but despite this I keep things in my hands.
So, today is a work day here in the center, but only half a day. I have a lot of things to tell you, but I'm in a bit of a rush right now, so I don't know where to start. This morning I missed the bus I usually take and so I arrived at the stop a few minutes later than usual.
And even just a few minutes makes all the difference, because I basically took a bus that was packed. We found a lot of traffic coming towards the center, however, well, I arrived 10 minutes early, which is not bad, because my appointment today at the office is at 10:00. And when I say "in the office" I am referring to the Treccani headquarters.
I collaborate with Giulia School, which is within Treccani, but I am not an employee of Treccani, so I can go to the office when we have to work on common projects and when there is someone from the group in the office. I'll show you the surroundings. [Music] Well, now I have to go up.
. . Uh, help!
I didn't calculate the height of the step. Okay, we'll catch up later. [Music] I'm taking my lunch break, I'm alone today.
I bought a new bag, I really like it, it is very roomy compared to all the other bags I have. I tend to always buy very very small bags, but since I have a lot of stuff I have to carry around, I decided to invest in a slightly larger bag. Anyway, I'm eating white pizza with salami and stracchino.
Very good, very good, I must say. And I'll show you my sight. The last time we saw each other was last Sunday, when I was going to a surprise party for my friend.
Today is Wednesday and Monday and Tuesday were very intense days, because everything happened, including a thief who entered the house. We weren't there, but Famino was at home, and he was a hero because he put the thief to flight. My love!
And so, now that I'm here, I feel a little anxious. I'm anxious about leaving him alone at home now, because it could have gone completely differently than it did. But I don't want to think about it, it went well the way it went.
And so now I find myself with a somewhat clouded, foggy mind. I have a lot of things to do, I don't know where to start. Now I'll finish my lunch and then go back to the office.
We'll update as soon as I can get the camera back in hand. Until next time! I don't know what to say, I don't know when to meet you.
January is finally over! We can say it, we said it! First of all I wanted to thank you for watching this vlog and then I'll throw it out there: I intend to start doing some live streaming on YouTube.
Yesterday afternoon I started doing some tests, transforming the new video camera, the Osmo Pocket 3, into a webcam for live streaming on YouTube. In short, with the microphone comes something very nice. Then I can also share the screen and so I was thinking of having some live chats in which I read some of your comments and we comment on them together, in short.
My only question is: when to do it? In the sense that I would first like to do a survey to understand which days are the most auspicious. No?
Obviously I won't be able to please everyone, but my idea is to still do these live streams regularly. If you can't attend the first one we'll be doing soon , then there will be others in the future. And in any case you will always be able to see the video, because it remains as a video on the channel.
But in short, let me know in the comments if you like the idea and above all tell me the day that would be ideal for you. Thanks so much again and see you soon. HI!
