You are traveling through the desert with your family, and you accidentally end up at a nuclear testing site, being ambushed by murderous mutants. What would you do? In this video of defeating movies we will follow the Carter family fighting to survive the mutants and I will point out the mistakes made by them, what you shouldn't do, and try to make better decisions to defeat the cannibalistic mutants in "The Cursed Trip".
We started by seeing that the United States carried out several secret nuclear tests between 1945 and 1962 and to this day the government denies the radioactive effects caused by these tests, and even using extremely remote locations to detonate bombs such as in the middle of the ocean or deserts, the environment around would definitely feel the impacts, in which case wildlife and even humans who stay close to the places can end up developing anomalies because of the effects of radiation, I'm not saying they could become cannibalistic mutants but it's better to stay away just to guarantee right. And certainly at that time they would be able to do several secret tests and even close to small towns to test what the effects would be on people and all that without attracting media attention, since things were not as widespread as they are today. And let's say that mutations would probably only happen in the next generation of inhabitants who live in these places, so it would take a while for the government to get results and only then would the news come.
But surely they would find a way to get rid of all these human tests so as not to raise suspicions in the future. Now these guys here would definitely disagree with what I just said about mutants, since they ended up being brutally finished off by one of them while collecting materials in a stream in the desert, well they should have some armed guards escorting these scientists just to ensure that nothing dangerous would go happen to them. We moved on to this guy who owns a gas station in the middle of the desert and very close to where these tests took place, judging by what we've seen before with the scientists, this guy certainly has some dealings with the desert dwellers, similar to the old man from panic in the forest or even the old man at the end of abyss of fear 2, and in case you don't know the ending just watch the video here on the channel, this old man must send some random people to serve as a snack for the mutants while he gets some objects from value in return.
But looking at where he lives, let's agree that this pile of jewelry and belongings are not making much profit. He doesn't even seem very happy with this deal, saying that he can't take it anymore, good to be alone at a gas station where practically no one should spend days must be something very lonely, the old man should get a car and drive towards the nearest town to let the police know what's going on and let them deal with the mutants going forward. Soon the inventory of the loot is interrupted by the Carter family stopping to fill up at the gas station, these guys are traveling from Cleveland to San Diego for Big Bob and Ethel's wedding anniversary and let's just say it must be an unbearable trip, being with 6 people and a baby in a trailer and a truck going through more than 40 hours of desert stretches shouldn't make anyone happy.
What a great idea to celebrate Big Bob's wedding anniversary. Aside from the fact that teenagers stay the whole trip complaining that they are stuck in a car and with no area on their cell phones to tweet how horrible the ride is… Probably Big Bob should have just followed Doug's advice and bought plane tickets for everyone saving a good few hours of travel, or just for the two of them, the rest of the family could just as well manage or stay at home. To help Big Bob still preferred to take a shortcut and leave the main road, because he wanted to see the desert, a great idea because shortcuts always work in this type of situation.
While the family is distracted, we see that someone is going through some of their belongings without anyone noticing her movement, probably this girl is a student of Solid Snake and has the maximum level in stealth skills. Bobby, the youngest son, is going to look for a place to empty the tank, which doesn't make Brenda very happy making him use the little house in the back, but let's just say that doesn't seem like a nice place to pee, better go around and do it in the background. Bobby actually walks into the room and totally ignores the dirt and debris of whatever was in there.
To improve, he still gets a fright, because there was someone spying on the boy's whole maneuver and Bobby thinks it was his own sister, which makes me wonder what kind of relationship these two have. . .
The old man at the gas station gives some directions to Big Bob saying that the trip would be very long, but the ex detective comments that he likes to drive at night. And since this guy was a detective and used to making night rounds, he sure as hell wouldn't venture on such a trip without having a decent map to navigate the highways and avoid getting lost in the middle of the desert with the whole family. parallel lines like this will hardly have stations, cars or people to help you in case something goes wrong with a car breakdown, for example, which can easily happen due to the heat of the desert.
So one of the family's dogs ends up running away and ending up inside the old man's convenience store that is also the guy's house, Lynn, Doug's wife, goes after Bella and ends up finding the suitcase with the old man's loot. The old man notices this and before the family leaves, he appears and suggests a new shortcut through the hills to Big Bob, as if the first shortcut was working very well right. Lynn who was in the backseat just sits quietly and listens, which doesn't make any sense since she saw the old man's bag with various jewelry and items that obviously weren't his.
She should have waited for them to leave the post and as she had grown up with her father being a detective for sure she would have learned a thing or two and told her father what she had seen inside the old man's house. That way they could continue on the main shortcut and get to the highway, there's no reason for them to take a second shortcut since this road is completely without traffic, taking a dirt road towing a trailer doesn't seem like much fun to me. And for sure the trip will get less fun now, as soon after entering the shortcut the vehicles have their tires punctured in a trap and Big Bob loses control of the vehicle hitting a rock.
After the accident Doug tries to get signal on his cell phone but ends up failing, while Bobby goes out alone after the dogs that ran away again, and going after two dogs in the middle of the desert will only end up making you tired for nothing, as soon as they feel hungry they should come back to eat. Lynn, on the other hand, goes to get a jacket from the trailer for Doug and ends up seeing something reflected on the horizon and again doesn't tell anyone. Okay, these guys are definitely screwed, luckily no one was hurt in that accident, but now they don't have a vehicle to get out of there and they're lost in the middle of nowhere.
Big Bob's plan is for Doug to follow the road to see how far it leads and he will return to the gas station to ask for help. Well, it will be dark soon and after Big Bob shows his skills with shortcuts, I don't trust that it would only be 12 kilometers to the gas station, surely camping there and going out in the morning looking for help would be the best option, since the night various animals like coyotes and rattlesnakes are hunting and getting bitten by a rattlesnake in this place is not fun. Lynn should start talking about the things she notices, as if the family stopped to take a closer look at this accident they would see that at least 4 tires are flat outside of the trailer which could have punctured the trap as well.
It doesn't take much to figure out that this accident was something more planned than they think, and combining that with the reflection Lynn saw earlier, which could easily have been binoculars or a rifle scope, Big Bob would definitely be suspicious of everything that happened . is happening. But the old man takes a revolver and hands a pistol to his son to keep guard while they leave and let's say this boy doesn't seem able to use a weapon since the first thing he does is point it at Doug, even she with the safety lock on, accidents can happen, there is a Taurus pistol that fires by itself even with the safety lock on, for example, and that has already done some damage.
. . boy.
So the family says a little prayer, which I don't think will do much good, and the two of them head off in search of help, while the rest are arguing about how stupid it was to make this road trip. It doesn't take long for a dog to run away again, which by my count is the third time one of them has escaped, probably this family needs to hire the dog whisperer to make these dogs obedient. Bobby runs desperately after the animal, forgetting the pistol on the table, so he ends up listening to this here….
Okay, if at this point you don't get desperate and run to save your dog, sorry you don't have a soul. If I heard something like that I would definitely do anything to find my dog. Bobby sees a silhouette and finds a trail of blood, the boy picks up a rock to defend himself, which wouldn't make much difference if he was attacked.
And ends up finding his German Shepherd, and from what you can see the situation is not very good, some being of pure evil finished the poor dog, which leaves Bobby in shock, the boy starts to run and ends up falling into a crater and passing out. Soon Ruby the girl who stole his sweatshirt appears and Goggles also snacking on one of the dog's paws. Well, this dog was killed with a knife, which could easily have been a trap to lure the boy there alone, and let's just say it worked very well, at that time Bobby certainly regretted leaving the pistol on the table, and running constantly looking back at a desert full of loose rocks and craters doesn't seem like a good idea to me, even on flat terrain running like this will only slow you down and eventually disorient you, having a chance to hit something, or fall like this face.
Doug continues his walk through no man's land and instead of finding a highway, the guy finds what looks like a vehicle graveyard inside a nuclear crater. Okay, there are several of these craters that can be visited in the United States, obviously this one is not one of them, as it would probably be close to a known road and there would be visitors there. But of course none of this family could read a map and they ended up on the side of one of these craters without having the slightest idea where they were.
It gets dark and Big Bob finally arrives at the gas station, he looks for the old man, but doesn't have much luck, investigating the place a little he ends up finding the gifts left by the mutants, and seeing the plucked ear Big Bob activates the defense mode pulling out the revolver, the old man also finds several articles about nuclear weapons testing and apparently some mining families didn't want to leave the site while the tests were being done and ended up taking shelter in the mines absorbing a lot of radiation and passing it on to the next generation of them. , obviously these guys didn't gain any super powers and ended up turning into cannibalistic mutants making several travelers disappear in that region with the help of the old man from the post. Seeing this Big Bob tries to get a car to escape, but ends up being interrupted by the old drunk mumbling in the little house and as soon as Bob opens the door the guy finishes himself.
And then some voices in the darkness start screaming "Daddy", which makes the ex detective shoot like a madman and run inside the car. Only he didn't check the back seat and ended up getting caught by Pope Jupiter and taken to the mines. Well, after sending the family to the trap, the old man from the post seems to have gotten tired of it and decided to finish himself.
But out of all the possible places, did he choose just the little house that served as a bathroom? I can't think of a worse place than this. And usually checking for some weird noise doesn't end well, instead I would just keep trying to start the car or look for another that was working.
And the fact that Big Bob is a former detective and shoots like that with a revolver is worrying, he was using a Taurus model 66, which holds up to 6 ammunition, and some models have a barrel with 7 but this one is 6. Shoot 4 sometimes nothing will only make it easier for the mutants to capture you and for sure if the father shoots like that I don't even want to see the son shooting. Back at the trailer the girls are looking for Bobby and the boy has been passed out all this time in that hole which doesn't make much sense, since a fainting doesn't take more than 5 minutes, only in rare cases it can take half an hour and only if the person suffered some brain trauma, he would be unconscious longer, luckily Ruby just wanted to stand there looking at the boy and Goggles prefer animals over humans.
Brenda miraculously finds Bobby and Ethel tends to the boy's injuries. He asks if the girls tried to use the radio, but they say they just heard some pervert breathing on the other side. It doesn't take long for the boy to hear something and go out to check, discovering that the other dog has run away too, which must be some sort of record in one day.
Doug returns with some finds and talks about the crater he found. For some reason Bobby decides not to tell anyone about the dog that was finished and that there are probably killers on the loose in the desert, Doug is also not very smart as he found several bloodstained cars lying in the middle of nowhere and didn't find that. the least suspicious, seriously there were several trailers and even a speedboat there.
Later Bobby tries to convince everyone to sleep in the same place, but Doug disagrees with the idea wanting some privacy, but the boy can't sleep and hears a bark, and it seems that he didn't learn anything after falling headfirst into that crater, Bobby ignores that it could be a trap and decides to look for the dog, not telling anyone about what happened, taking the pistol with him and leaving the trailer door open. When the boy realizes that it's a trap and decides to warn the rest of the staff it's already a little late, one of the mutants has entered the trailer and before they can do anything, a fireworks show starts with Big Bob being the main attraction. The family runs towards the tree and Doug takes a fire extinguisher from the trailer and runs away, while the mutants play terror inside the vehicle, drinking milk, traumatizing Brenda and eating the birds.
Lynn hears the screams and tries to help Brenda but ends up being a hostage too, Ethel realizing the situation arrives with a rock, but is shot by the Lizard. Lynn drives a screwdriver into the mutant's leg and ends up being finished soon. After that the mutants flee with the baby, only leaving Brenda alive because the ammo ran out just in time.
Okay, Bobby really hesitated to say nothing to anyone and go out in the middle of nowhere to look for the dog alone. The fact that Doug goes into the trailer to get the fire extinguisher and doesn't see a giant mutant inside makes me a little worried about this guy's field of vision, I understand that it's a situation where adrenaline is probably running high, but in a such a small place it would be very difficult for him not to see a giant figure in his peripheral vision and suspect it wasn't the girl. Also, that extinguisher clearly wouldn't be able to put out the human torch, I say Big Bob, and the old man was just being used as a distraction for the mutants to be able to catch the rest of the family, or finish them themselves, because it didn't seem to me that they they wanted to leave someone alive there, as the lizard said he would come back to finish Brenda later.
And Doug shouldn't have wasted so much time trying to save his father-in-law, as he would hardly survive that, instead he should have run to the trailer with the girls and tried to do something useful. Lynn's attempt might have worked a lot better if she'd attacked somewhere other than her leg, doing so only made the guy more nervous. She should have aimed for an eye or neck and then tried to grab his gun and finish him off.
And instead of running off into the middle of nowhere like Bobby did he should have gone to the trailer where the mutants were, and avoid shooting from a distance like that as it's just a waste of ammo they probably don't have too many shells left. Doug enters the trailer and finds Lynn finished and finds that the baby has been taken, the beast is already alive and securing some points outside, finishing the Goggles. Back at the family, Bobby wants to go out and become the vigilante out there, finishing off the mutants, but Doug stops the boy, as they don't know how many mutants there are.
They hear a noise outside and Bobby wastes 3 more shots in the complete void, hitting the total of zero mutants, Doug goes to check and ends up finding an arm with a radio, which was probably brought by the dog that already seems to be smarter than everyone there . He signals that there's something under the trailer and Bobby tries to hit it, but the Beast appears making them forget about the danger, Doug starts asking over the radio what the mutants wanted and what they were going to do with the baby, which makes no sense. .
If you get an enemy radio, you don't start communicating by making it clear that you've found the damn radio. The best strategy would be to wait for the mutants to communicate to find out what their plan would be from now on, and to anticipate preparing an ambush, since they have the dog to warn when the mutants are close and a cartridge and a half of ammunition to unload on us . mutants as long as it's not Bobby shooting because he's horrible and will miss everything.
In the morning, Doug leaves ALONE with the dog, in search of the mutants, leaving Bobby and Brenda in the trailer. Okay, I don't know if going into an abandoned mine with a bat and a dog is the best idea here, leaving the two alone there in the trailer, could end up being a shot in the foot, as they can easily be captured by mutants. Even if it was difficult since Brenda was very bad for what happened to her, the three of them should walk together with the dog to find the mutants, since if Doug is caught alone he will hardly have any chance.
And before leaving on the rescue mission they could go up a mountain to try to improve the range of the radio communicator and use it on another frequency trying to communicate with someone. These radios can have a range between 2 to 45 kilometers, it would be pure luck to have an answer, but someone could be passing on the road before and hear the call. After walking through the dark mine with only a flashlight following a trail of blood, Doug doesn't find crawlers inside the cave, but some tombs of some miners with some pickaxes that could easily be used as a weapon, but Doug ignores and manages to find a small town .
abandoned building used for nuclear tests. He tries to talk to Bobby and Brenda, but neither is close to the radio, which makes this method of communication useless as the two prefer to argue over listening to the radio. In the test city, Doug decides to walk around the place without even knowing where or how many mutants there were, and could be caught off guard at any time.
With a lot of luck the guy finds the only house in town that has a working generator, and of course the baby is inside. But besides the baby there's a giant mutant walking around town with a shotgun. Doug leaves the dog inside an old car and manages to sneak into the house and ends up finding another mutant inside, he even tries to escape with the baby, but let's say that didn't work out very well.
Well, this guy has never seen or played anything spy in his life because walking around the city like that sure makes it a lot easier for someone to find you, and Doug sure regretted leaving the pistol with Bobby. Luckily this guy wasn't finished and they dropped him in a kind of freezer with a plastic door that breaks easily, and coincidentally his bat was there too. After escaping, Doug walks around the house finding what's left of Big Bob and the mutant Big Brain, who needs no explanation about his name.
The mutant complains about them doing this to them, destroying their homes with the bombs and leaving everything in ashes turning them into these mutants. Okay, the government tried to evacuate these guys, those who were stubborn enough to want to stay there and hide in the mines at a nuclear testing ground, of course this wasn't going to end well. Doug threatens the mutant to try to find out where his baby is, but Pluto arrives destroying a door for breakfast time, Doug doesn't stand a chance against the mutant, but luckily the dog arrives to save the day, but instead of Doug help the dog finish the big guy he just runs to the bathroom and puts a bathtub in the door.
As if that was going to stop this mutant, the guy entered the house through a door Doug, Pluto again attacks him but finally he manages to hit him, but instead of kicking or trying to push the bat into the mutant's body he just stayed looking. The mutant obviously gets bored with this fight and starts playing with his food, only Doug takes a philips key and stabs the mutant in the foot, finishing Pluto with the American flag and an axe. After that he easily finishes the mutant with the shotgun and Beast finishes off Big Brain.
Armed with the shotgun, Doug returns to look for his daughter, but Big Brain had already given the order for the lizard to finish her off. Meanwhile, Brenda tries to burn a tire to get someone's attention and Bobby sets up a motion detection trap around the perimeter with the fishing rod line Doug found in the junkyard. It doesn't take long for the trap to activate, just as the brothers are moving their mother and sister's bodies to the truck.
The two go to check the line and discover that it was just a bush hitting the wire, and that moment of distraction is enough for a mutant to disappear with their mother's body. Well, at this point, burning a tire will only make it easier for the cannibals to find their camp, since the line is something very useful, but he should separate them or put an object in each segment like a can, to know exactly where the trap is. was activated, and preferably leave his sister on top of the trailer to have a wide view of the place and prevent this kind of thing from happening.
They go back to the camp and notice that their mother's body was gone, and it was one of the mutants they took for a snack, Bobby starts shooting and running at the same time missing all possible shots and wasting ammo. The boy lures the mutant to the trailer where Brenda was setting a trap with gas canisters, Jupiter catches Brenda through the window and Bobby somehow manages to tie the mutant's hands through the window and the two escape through another window. When the mutant gets free he opens the door and lights the matches blasting everything.
OK, this is the kind of impossible thing you only see happening when they forgot me, the fact that he manages to tie the guy through the window and then those matches don't break and light right the first time is pure luck, everyone knows that the first attempt only serves to break the match. It would have been a lot easier for Bobby to have stood still when the mutant started chasing him and finished Jupiter with one shot, than to have luck in this crazy plan where the mutant had to use the door to get in without realizing they'd already left and finish. blowing up the entire trailer in the process.
Doug, on the other hand, can't find the baby because Rubby traded her for a little pig, preventing the lizard from finishing her. He runs after the girl and it doesn't take long to reach her, but soon the lizard arrives attacking Doug who ends up being knocked out by the mutant. Rubby runs away with baby and the lizard follows the girl completely forgetting the shotgun on the ground, but Doug wakes up, takes the shotgun and shoots a few times at the mutant, after that he takes his daughter, but the lizard was not dead and takes the shotgun to finish Doug, so Rubby realizes this and jumps off the mountain taking the lizard with him.
Well, at least one of the mutants wasn't a psychopath, dropping the shotgun on the side of the lizard's body was a grotesque mistake by Doug, surely there must be more mutants alive and he would need to use the weapon in the future. At Camp Jupiter, he didn't die from the explosion and Brenda decided to finish the guy with her bare hands using a pickaxe. We ended up with Doug returning with the baby and the beast, and a binoculars mutant watching them.
Well, they'll have to walk a long time to the gas station to get water and a car to get out of there, so during that trip it would be good for Doug to still have that shotgun in case any mutants show up, since no one there knew exactly how many of them. there was in town, there was probably a lot more than what was shown, as they were being watched at the end. Or they could go back to the village of mutants and look for that truck that we saw at the beginning dragging the scientists, it would certainly make life easier for the rest of the family to leave there.
And this family would have survived if they hadn't been so cheap to drive to California or if they hadn't at least taken the shortcut. Lynn could also have warned him about the old man's suitcase at the gas station, at least it would raise some suspicion in Big Bob and he'd have a chance of him not taking the second shortcut and falling into the mutant trap. Not to mention that those scientists who disappeared at the beginning, would raise suspicions that something strange was happening in that part of the desert and the government would send special operations agents to check the place, and these soldiers would quickly find the mutants and finish or take the cannibals to be studied.
. Hey guys, this was how to defeat mutants on a damn trip do you think you could survive? Tell me in the comments what you would do differently.
Thank you so much for watching and if you are planning a long trip be careful with the shortcuts, it may end up being the last route you will take.
