my patience level is not going to allow I've been molested I've been violated so the moment I see you trying to do it we going to have to address it my husband is nothing but a gentleman Mo'Nique has never pulled her punches when talking about some of the biggest names in Hollywood and her allegations are all being confirmed now she made a lot of accusations towards Tyler Perry and they are seemingly being corroborated by people that have worked with him this is the account of actor Brandon Jay well here it's a story time about how
filming Meet the Browns was the most stressful and hardest thing that I've ever done in my entire life I had no idea that Tyler Perry studio schedule was so drastic if you're working on a regular Network show they take a whole week to film an episode Tyler Perry Studios they film an episode in one day the character was Jeffrey a fat High School teenager who was very intellectual who was getting bullied at school I take two to three days to learn the entire script on the day of filming first thing we do is a table
read I know all of my lines I'm ready to go so the director who is Alfonso robera Carlton in the fresh pencil Bell Air he starts to block us telling the actors where to go where to stand Mr Perry comes in everything changes so we literally run the entire episode for him and he hates it does that mean I have to learn a whole new script yes that's what it means Mr Perry on the spot starts rewriting the entire script and he's feeding me the lines to say and the director is kind of standing on
the side like you better do it because if not they will fire you here is where the shoe hit the fan so in the middle of Mr Perry changing up the scenes he says you know I want Jeffrey to be gay and he has a crush on his bully that's not what I audition for so after Mr Perry says we're going to change the character make him gay I immediately get on the phone with my mom cuz I'm like is this customary can they just change a character like this and she didn't really know the
answer to that so she got on the phone with my agent my agent was like absolutely not if Brandon doesn't feel comfortable with playing this character then he can walk from this cuz you don't have to do anything that you don't feel comfortable doing and then they call the casting director casting director is on the phone and she's like hey I'm not on set today I hear that they changed the character do you want to walk away from this project yes or no at this point I'm extremely overwhelmed I really don't know what I want
to do I had waited years and years to work with Tyler Perry it was the biggest dream that I had at the time I want to tell this story I want to play this character I feel like it's mine and I'mma do it we go on break I'm sitting in my dressing room and in walks the assistant director I have an entire new script with all new lines pages and pages and pages I have an hour to learn this stuff I'm literally feeling the pressure right now it's my first television gig and I don't want
to Jack this up Tamila man calls me into her dressing room we're going to run lines together and I'm in her room freaking out she said you are here for a reason you have been placed in this role in this position at this time because you can do this you can handle this she was literally a godsend after that I'm feeling good I'm feeling ready we go to lunch and we come back from lunch and guess what they've changed the script again scrap the script we just gave you an hour ago here's draft five it
say you have 15 minutes to work on your script and we're about to start filming I go into hair and makeup for them to touch me up and I start to read the script and I see that Jeffrey is no longer gay so far today I've been given three new scripts and my character has been changed twice I'm just confused but now it's time to film it's go time time is money so we start filming the first scene and Mr Perry is on the side of us feeding lines to Tamila man and he's trying to
get her to cuss in the scene and she will not cuss that was funny now it's time to film the biggest three scenes that I have we only have three takes to get it right the first take happens and I'm flubbing all of the lines every line I'm saying wrong I don't know where I even am right now there's an acting coach that comes up on to me on set and he's like you're not giving it right now also there's a script supervisor that's coming up to me and she's like you said this line wrong
this line wrong this line wrong then I'm like I can't remember this stuff and then we do take number two I'm like breaking under the pressure Mr Perry's looking at me they're all expecting me to deliver and I just don't know what to say the director comes up to me I don't know if he's trying to antagonize me but he's in my face and he's like need you know you need to get this right you you need to tune in what if this was happening to you in real life you need to tune in you
need to tune in Tamila man is behind me and she's like come on Jeffrey come on we got to get this done we got to get this done and it's pressure pressure pressure pressure from all sides it gets worse I remember the person that I wanted to impress the most was Mr Perry I always looked up to him and he was just sitting on the side looking at me he was just looking at me like waiting for me to do something I felt like I was he was about to fire me everybody's expecting me to
pull something out they don't even let me finish the third take they're like cut cut cut cut we need to reset so at this time I just kind of black out and I get so angry and frustrated in the moment that when they call Action on the fourth take I lose it I'm screaming I'm yelling I'm crying not because I was acting but I was feeling those emotions because of how overwhelmed I was in this moment and Mr Perry allowed me to just say whatever and that's the scene and the moment that made it to
television what you man I'm sick of you playing with me all of y'all all of y'all you tease me every day you follow me home from school and you you punch me Jeff this is not the way you handle it stop shut up I told him to stop I told you to stop and you wouldn't listen and you listening now aren't you listen to so Tyler Perry is someone who loves turning characters gay and exploiting as actors this is something that Mo'Nique has confirmed now to Tyler Perry's credit Tyler Perry called us up right and
he said I can see the pain in you and I can hear it and I want to let you know that I I I would never you nothing to hurt you but the conversation kept going on only for Tyler Perry to admit he did start a rumor that I was difficult to work with he lied only for Tyler Perry to admit I was wrong and when my movie boo come out I'm going to say that right now here's where when you did that interview with cat I could respect how you do it because cat said
you let them people lie in your face and you're response was cat I don't know if they're lying or not right because I can only take them at their word at their word right yes well we sent you the audio of Tyler Perry I don't want you to take me at my word I want you to hear his word and what did you hear that man saying what did you hear that man saying he said it what did he say is that is M you know you're not supposed to be people no no no no
let me back up everything we did was legal and here's where black woman really gets the kick in the ass had I not recorded Tyler Perry then it would have been my word against his and then on top of that it would have been he's so powerful we can't even pay no attention to that right Jaguar Wright has also corroborated this timman had that tree the plays he thrived during the plays but when he went to the screen something changed in timman every male actor that I know was vibrant and when fire for art changed
after they went from the stage to the camera with Tyler why do your actors change not on camera but in real life I just want the truth and I want to get it to the world because I want to have a better understanding of why two beautiful black men that I cared about Once Upon a Time so much changed after they went on camera for Tyler Perry riding that TP train I want to no and I think you can tell me Jaguar right Johnson gmail.com and you ain't got to show me no receipts we don't
got to expose your receipts those are yours I just want to have the conversation I want to know what the he do to those beautiful men that I loved what did he do why did they change I know you can tell me maybe we could tell the world together Mo'Nique and Tyler Perry's tension goes back to after she finished filming the 2009 movie that won her an Oscar Perry and Oprah Winfrey who were executive producers wanted Mo'Nique a Queens of Comedy star to do a promotional tour with interviews and talk shows however Monique wasn't on
board with flying to the can out film festival for an unpaid appearance she said wasn't part of her contract she explained to Winfrey and others that her main focus was spending some downtime with her husband and Sons I said it's almost like she was born and to play that [Music] role now now tell correct me if I'm wrong okay okay you shoot a movie yes the movie rap you might have to come back and do some voice over some some here some touchup work here and there yes that's already scripted into the contract now the
promotion aspect of the contract what were you contracted to do because that seems to be where the the conflict seems to come in because you like okay what so tell the people that's going to watch this and listen to this what was Monique contractually obligated to do as far as the promotional aspect of pressure I was contractually obligated to promote the movie Precious under Lee Daniels Productions okay I promoted precious under lead Daniels Productions I did Oprah I did magazines I did TV shows I did all of the promotions I was contractually obligated to do
okay that was it that was it I'm done with it done okay now precious is going to can right mhm at the time I had the Monique show mhm I am on the spread the love tour I have toddler babies and I'm also a wife okay Mo'Nique The Mo'Nique Show is like down for maybe a couple days a week or so right I got some days off on the tour I'm going to relax with my family because once they sold the movie right you didn't sell me right whoopy Goldberg see whoopy Goldberg said I could
have schooled you and told you what was expected when I didn't promote and go overseas and you know how you just looked up and looked away yeah whoopy Goldberg what you were saying to me I could have schooled you and told you you go on them in that house and let them have their way with you right and I'll be here when you come back mhm so after I'm done with my promotions Lion's gate reaches out to my husband her husband had to step in and add his voice to the mix initially they think they're
talking talking to my attorney right and they say we want Mo'Nique to come to can to she promoted so well in the United States we want her to go International and promote the movie and you can okay I tell my husband please let them know I respectfully decline I appreciate it but I respectfully declin I'm going to spend some time at home lion gate calls back we really would like for Mo'Nique to come to can promote this movie please let them know I respectfully decline I'm going to spend time with my family lion gate calls
back and says what is it going to take for us to get Mo'Nique to come to can we'll give her another week in France we'll upgrade her room my husband said is there a dollar amount attached to what you're asking for oh we we will never pay anyone to promote a film never he said we understand and you're never going to work for free you're asking her to do something that she's not obligated to do correct well what is this the attorney he said actually I'm her manager and I and her husband now we can
put it on the husband's being difficult right right okay so I don't owe anybody anything that's why I was never sued now we go to the Hoodie Awards Tyler Perry is there okay Tyler Perry calls me in his room now when I go into Tyler Perry's room his staff is in there now you ready to holla laughing yes okay I take my security in there with me cuz I always want to have somebody with me right right Tyler Perry does this and the people scattered they all left out the room I said look at this
right here you saw me and they all scattered that wasn't the light that's for the people you know light clap lights on lights off cuz they got their asses up out of okay okay okay so at the time my security look at me I said you don't work for Tyler Perry you could touche so Tyler Perry says to me listen Monique we really need you to you know promote this film because if you get nominated for the Oscar your next movie is going to be $3 to5 million if you win it your next movie is
$6 to8 million I said Tyler Perry who you talking to I'm a black woman when they going to pay that kind of no I'm telling you that's what it is and and if you just go and promote it I said listen brother you can pay me to promote it cuz at the time now him and Oprah producers on the film right I said you can pay me to do it I don't care where the check come from but y'all just got to pay me to he said I'm not in the habit of giving out money
for free I said then I'm not in the habit of working for free but you gave TD Jake a check for a million dollars but that's another story and I'm back and it's not difficult to see where Mo'Nique is coming from here Tyler Perry has a habit of exploiting actors and it turns out his buddy Oprah Winfrey has a house right up that alley in a recent interview with the New York Times Taraji P Henson shared that she and her co-stars from The Color Purple only got certain things on set because she fought for them
behind the scenes Taraji also made headlines during an emotional Serious XM interview with Gail King on December 19th 2023 Mo'Nique though had a very harsh opinion on Oprah for letting this happen when I listen to your story mhm you say dirt poor yes bear from outside yes it was we had to make it work however we can make it work correct and then you get that first big check yes and you think the people that gave it to you was awesome because they gave it to you and it's more money than you've ever seen before
until you find out this ain't the right money this ain't the right amount wait a minute if they got this why am I getting this then you start putting the pieces together and you start saying it's not right and I'm going to speak about it see when I saw taji mm broken MH on those platforms it was painful to watch however Taj and I had a conversation over a decade ago yes in my trailer when I was doing the Monique show and she said you know you got to keep on getting it until your turn
come and I said to rajie most of us die before our turn comes we got to ask for it right now now I understand that because there was a time I felt the same way because that's what I was told you just keep going and we'll get him the next time we'll get him the next time we'll get him the next time and the next time never comes and then you see our sister broken sharp asked Monique about the different reactions she and taji P Henson received when they both spoke up about Fair pay for
black actresses I should just be grateful I got invited to the party you a big fat black woman how dare you be the one and then on top of that you're saying names you're saying Oprah's name out loud you're saying Tyler's name out loud you're saying Lee's name out loud you're saying Lion's gate out loud that's not what we do we say they we say the people we say the studio we say the producers how dare you actually say Our Heroes names you're very specific these are our heroes how could you say their names out
loud because they're the ones that did it and if I don't say it out loud now you see a woman that is swallowing that pain that is so stressed out then you see our sister teraji B Henson sit on that platform and I love that baby cuz she's a beautiful spirit but to see her that broken what our community was saying was we have a hard time some of us we have a hard time seeing a strong black woman with a back straight and a chin up and a strong black man standing by her side
we have a hard time accepting that but we can accept seeing a black woman broken she appreciated being part of the conversation but emphasized the difficulties she's faced as the one delivering the message our community had a hard time with those two things and when I would hear people say why is her husband there why is he there it's a sad day when we're questioning why a black man was staying with his black woman so when you hear black women saying we're the most undervalued disrespected undeserved mistreated violated exploited we get all of that then
you see a black man standing with his black woman saying not on my watch and you hear some black men saying why why her husband got to be there we're in a sad State of Affairs when we be into question black love and black Unity so they didn't want to hear me some of them because of what I look like because I spoke about their Heroes and because they saw that man standing right there strong Hollywood has gradually become more inclusive first with other races and then with people of different body types Monique stands for
exactly what Hollywood claims to want broader representation of everyone she's proudly said she's a big fat black woman in Hollywood and that's exactly how she wants to be seen and what she wants to represent Mo'Nique also has a lot of history with Steve Harvey back in 2019 Mo'Nique sat down for an interview with Steve Harvey and things got pretty tense between the two longtime friends when you called me with the Morning Show on the phone I said to you Steve my family is suffering behind this and y'all know I did nothing wrong y'all know my
husband did nothing wrong but none of y'all in real time in real time was strong enough to go publicly and say we can't throw our sister under the bus she was there to talk about her claims of being blackballed in Hollywood and her boycott of Netflix Mo'Nique had previously said she was blacklisted after refusing to campaign for the 2009 film precious without getting extra pay like we mentioned earlier she's been vocal about her issues with the film's director Lee Daniels and producers Oprah WI and Tyler Perry this is the only issue I have with it
baby when all of y'all said privately to include OA all of y'all said privately we I've done nothing wrong when you tell the truth you have to deal with the repercussions of the truth we black out here we can't come out here and do it any kind of way we want Steve Harvey responded by telling Mo'Nique that she went about it wrong fast forward to 2018 Monique called for a boycott of Netflix accusing them of gender and racial bias after they offered her only $500,000 for a comedy special which was way less than the millions
Amy Schumer and male comedians like Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle received Steve then told Mo'Nique he had a problem with her boycott because she never gave people a clear action plan this ain't the black man's game this ain't the white man's game this the money game we in the money game and you cannot sacrifice yourself the best thing you can do for can we in the money game but let me tell you what the game is before the money game before the money game is called the Integrity game and we've lost the Integrity woring about
the money do you agree with her let us know in the comments
