if we're going to do anything great in this life it is going to require discipline that's the truth if you are going to accomplish anything extraordinary with the days the Lord has trusted to you on this planet it is going to require you pushing through the discomfort and embracing the grind discipline is your best friend it will take care of you like nothing else can and it'll put you on that path the path to strength and health and intelligence and happiness and most importantly it'll put you on that path to Freedom do we make EXC
excuses to get out of discipline I can't go to work today because I'm hitting snooze because I can't I can't spend time with God this morning I'll I'll do it later I'll do it this evening I'll do it before I go to bed or are we busy but lack something to show for the busyness and the enemy he'll convince you of that so that you never produce anything great with your life I I think that the ultimate goal of the enemy is that he would just keep you in a place of doing nothing great for
the kingdom nothing great with your life not living your purpose and this is where a lot of us get in trouble in life in general we we want growth we we do but we have very little patience for it and so a week or two weeks or month into it we don't see the results that we were hoping for and and we give up but the Bible says in Galatians don't grow weary in doing good because at the right time you'll reap a harvest if you don't give up you stick with it little habits one
day at a time and that's what discipline is discipline means taking the Hard Road the uphill road to do what's right Harry Truman said this in reading the lives of Great Men I found that the first Victory they won was over themselves self-discipline with all of them came first and I don't believe that any person can do anything great just because they have natural Talent not just because they want to until you first can manage yourself you're not going to be able to manage anything or anyone else very well small consistent actions or changes over
time can lead to significant and exponential results and those who understand and embrace this principle understand that I may not be able to change my destination overnight but I can change my direction greatness is the accumulation of small choices and small decisions that are made every single day faithfulness looks like discipline it's being disciplined in the small things going to bed early getting up early drinking the water you're supposed to drink eating the food You're supposed to eat not trying to find a way out of the hard work but finding a way to bring more
to the hard work than anyone else expected of you if someone has to ask you to do the small things you're not going to be ready when the big moment comes when you are faithful in the small things when you pay attention to the detail when you have the daily disciplines necessary to succeed in the long term what happens is you end up creating internal structures for Success you develop a resilience because that faithfulness being faithful in the Small Things prepares you for the great opportunities so the issue is this where does discipline fit in
your life because discipline does determine your destiny when a person lives a disciplined life you're going to be able to look your best do your best be your best and reach the goals that God has set for you one area of discipline is to read the word of God every day most anybody could do that if they chose to if they recognize how very important it is now watch this whatever listen whatever you discipline your life about will determine the value you place on it you don't Place much value on a particular goal you w
work hard at it you won't discipline yourself a little bit of discipline goes a long ways but you have to start somewhere and if you do not start somewhere what happens is you just you you you go through life aimlessly if you're going to live a Godly life discipline is a vital part of that what is discipline is choosing between what you want now and what you want most if you do not do something now about that which you want most that will very likely become your greatest regret I am choosing the pain of discipline
over the pain of regret where you H it in life what do you want to accomplish what kind of Trail are you leaving what kind of influence what kind of impact there are many people in life who don't have what they'd like to have because they're not disciplined enough to remove the things out of their life that drain their energy energy their strength their finances their time discipline is absolutely essential if you're going to succeed at anything in life there's some of you right here right now and you can't see it yet but you're going
to be incredibly successful I'm going to believe that some of you are going to do the hard work of actually developing yourself to the place where you become the best in your world and you're going to become a source of resources for so much good in in the world and in the kingdom of God and we can ask you a lot of questions but the issue is this what are you living for what is your purpose for being alive and staying alive name me something that is of Great Value that it does not demand and
require discipline in order to achieve it it's a choice has nothing to do with age has nothing to do with talents and skills and abilities because some people have this skill this ability that Talent whatever it might be it's where God has called you what he wants you to do what he has in mind for you and I can tell you he has the best in mind but you and I have to practice discipline what are you willing to do the hard work of because if you don't know what you're trying to accomplish I promise
you it will never happen what are you trying to accomplish and Achieve with your life make it significant now you say well how do you start being disciplined real simple you decide today that beginning today I'm going to read a portion of the word of God every day is there anybody here who could not do that right every single one of us can read the Bible every day that's going to teach me this I'm going to start with that so second thing I'm going to do is I'm going to pray and talk to God every
day that's two steps I can take to becoming listen disciplined
