hi guys today I'm going to tell you guys how I got into Yale and so sorry for putting this off I impulsively decided to film one right now so everything I say will be based off memory but I think I remember the majority of my application so I'm going to be telling you guys about that also like every single one of these videos I want to preface this by saying that your stats and I could even argue like your extracurriculars aren't the only thing that matter like clear clearly judging from my results I got into
Yale but I got rejected from so many different schools so it clearly like wasn't just my stats with that being said I'm going to be telling you guys my stats my E's and my Awards along with like the leadership positions and I also made like my mission file video so if you want more contacts and if you want more information on how I actually got in go check out that video okay so starting off with stats I had a 4.0 unweighted and then about a 4.4 weighted out of four and then my class rank when
I was applying was one out of about 325 I believe so for my standardized scores I got a 34 composite on the ACT and I believe I got a 36 on the English and math section 35 reading and then a 30 on the science section I I I don't know what to say once I got the 34 I didn't take the test again because I didn't see a point and trying again and wasting my time so I submitted my score to all of the schools that I applied to during my time in high school I
took 10 AP classes and in my sophomore year I took AP Spanish AP environmental science and AP US History and junior year I took AP go AP Lang AP stats and AP chem and in my series year of high school I took AP Cal BC AP Physics and AP Lit I'm going to split up the extracurriculars into two sections things I did at school and things I did outside of school so first things I did outside of school I worked a couple of part-time jobs I worked as a waitress and I also worked at an
insurance company and I also managed like the social media for small local businesses and those were two outside school activities that did okay so for the things that I did at school I did spaan debate for all four years and then in the summer section I listed some of the awards and tournaments that I've competed in and placed at and then I was also the president of Beta Club which is a service group but also like a competitive group so I competed on the national level for that and did service projects throughout the years in
the summary I talked about some of of the service projects that I was a part of and then I was also the president of FBLA which similar to Beta I competed in and I also did service projects and in my summary I talked about the service projects and then some of the competitions that I've placed at and then I was the president of deca which was I think my favorite part of high school I competed on the international level and I also managed the school store that we had and I talked a lot about this
store and my application and then a lot of the awards that I've won through Deca was just like in my Awards section on my application okay this is going to sound crazy but I did tennis for all four years and I also did NHS but I didn't put on my application because I like probably saw on Reddit that less is more but I don't know like I got into yil so it doesn't matter but like sh should I have put that on my application I don't know but this is my advice to just like not
care about what the mission officers is going to think of you like just present yourself as you are and I think you'll be okay okay so last but not least the award section everything that was in here were things that I didn't include in the summaries of the extracurricular section on my application so first I won like a random essay competition so I included that I talked about like the Internationals thing for Deca I was also a finalist for the virtual business challenge four times for Deca and I put that on my application and then
I like our school had Department like Student of the Year Awards so I put that on there also I think I put my Beta State Awards and like the national qualifying thing for Beta Club all right that was it thank you for watching and so sorry it took forever to get this uploaded this is purely like just to be informational like I think that there's so much more to an application than just like your stats and EC's so don't stress and good luck if you're applying or if you're going to apply in the future bye
