welcome to solve it like a marketer this episode is all about the extended self [Music] to start us off a really cool and relevant concept in marketing specifically consumer behavior is what's called the extend itself so as humans we use what we call props and settings to define our social roles to define ourselves these props and settings could be quite literal for instance when people get piercings they take a physical object and integrate that into their identity but mostly we see this playing out more figuratively for instance with the acquisition of material things cars clothing
