chapter 1 A new challenge 8 months ago I started learning English I decided to learn English because I wanted to speak it well I thought it would help me in many ways like getting a better job and meeting new people but learning English turned out to be very hard before this I had tried to learn English many times each time I found it very difficult the rules of English seemed confusing to me for example there are many rules about how to use words how to make sentences and how to ask questions these rules were not

easy to understand when I tried to learn English before I used different methods I went to classes used books and even tried to learn from apps on my phone but no matter what I did I still found English very hard sometimes I felt frustrated because I couldn't understand the grammar rules or remember new words English has many rules that are different from my own language in my language we might have a simple way to ask questions or make sentences but in English there are different rules for example to make a question we often need to

change the order of words this was new and confusing conf using for me I also found it hard to remember new words English has many words that look or sound similar but have different meanings this made it easy to mix them up I tried to practice but it felt like I was always forgetting what I had learned another problem was understanding how to use verbs in English verbs change depending on the time for example eat become becomes eight in the past these changes were tricky for me I often made mistakes with verbs when speaking or

writing Listening to English speakers was also hard they spoke quickly and sometimes I couldn't catch all the words this made me feel anxious about speaking English myself I worried that people might not understand me or that I would make too many mistakes despite these challenges I knew I had to keep trying I had a strong reason to learn English and I didn't want to give up so even though it was difficult I decided to find a new way to learn English I hoped that with more practice and a new approach I would be able to

overcome these problems this was the beginning of my journey to learn English I knew it wouldn't be easy but I was ready to face the challenge I wanted to improve my English and become fluent even though it seemed like a big task chapter 2 a wakeup call when I started my new job I was excited and nervous the company was good and the work seemed interesting but there was one thing that worried me every Friday the team had meeting in English these meetings were very important and everyone had to speak and understand English well at

first I thought I could manage I tried to follow along and understand what was happening I would listen carefully and take notes but I soon realized that this was not enough my English was not strong enough to really participate in the meetings I felt left out and frustrated because I couldn't join in the conversations or share my ideas clearly during these meetings everyone spoke English quickly they used business terms and phrases that I did not know I felt lost and confused sometimes I would catch only a few words and miss the important points this made

it hard for me to contribute to the discussion or understand what decisions were being made one Friday something happened that made me realize how serious the problem was there was a discussion about a new project and everyone was sharing their ideas I wanted to give my opinion but I didn't know how to express it in English I felt embarrassed and frustrated I knew that if I continued like this I would never be able to fully participate in my job after the meeting I felt disappointed I started to think about how important it was for me

to improve my English I realized that if I wanted to succeed in my new job I needed to speak English well this was not just about understanding it was about being able to communicate my thoughts clearly and confidently I began to think about what I could do to change this situation I knew I needed a new plan to improve my English skills I couldn't continue relying on my old methods of learning because they weren't helping me enough I needed a different approach to make real progress I talked to my friends and colleagues about my problem

they suggested different ways to improve my English some said I should practice speaking more often While others recommended taking English classes I listened to their advice and decided to take action I knew that I had to make a change if I wanted to be successful in my job and feel more confident during meetings I started looking for ways to learn English better I looked for English teachers and online courses I also considered joining language exchange groups where I could practice speaking with others my goal was to find a method that would work for me and

this was the beginning of my decision to work harder on improving my English skills and becoming more confident in using the language chapter 3 finding a teacher after realizing that I needed to improve my English I knew that finding a good English Eng teacher was very important I wanted someone who could help me learn quickly and effectively I began to search for a teacher who could meet my needs I started by asking around for recommendations I talked to friends family and colleagues I wanted to find out if anyone knew a good English teacher who could

help me most people gave me different suggestions but one suggestion stood out my girlfriend who had been very supportive of my English learning Journey told me about a teacher she knew she had worked with this teacher at her old job she said he was very good at teaching English and had a lot of experience my girlfriend thought he could be a great fit for me when my girlfriend mentioned this teacher I was interested I trusted her opinion because she had worked with him before and knew his teaching style she told me that he had been

an executive English lecturer for many years this meant he had experienced teaching English to people in professional settings which sounded perfect for my situation I decided to contact this teacher I was a bit nervous but I knew it was the right step I wanted to make sure that he could help me improve my English I asked my girlfriend for his contact details and she gave me his phone number and email address The Next Step was to reach out to him I decided to send an email first I introduced myself and explain my situation I told

him that I needed to improve my English for work and that I was looking for a teacher who could help me I mentioned that my girlfriend recommended him because of his experience after sending the email I waited for a response I hoped that he would be available and willing to help me a few days later I received a reply he was happy to hear from me and was willing to help he suggested that we schedule a meeting to discuss my needs and goals we arranged a meeting at a convenient time for both of us during

the meeting we talked about my current level of English and what I wanted to achieve I explained that I wanted to be more fluent in speaking English and feel confident during meetings at work I also mentioned the difficulties I had faced in the past the teacher listened carefully and asked me some questions to better understand my situation he explained his teaching approach and how he could help me he talked about different methods he used to teach English and how he would tailor the lessons to fit my needs I felt reassured after our conversation he seemed

4 making a plan after finding a good English teacher the next important step was to make a detailed plan for our lessons this was a very exciting time for me because I knew that having a clear plan would help me learn English more effective ly when we first met the teacher and I discussed what I wanted to achieve I told him that my main goal was to be able to speak English fluently and confidently especially for my job I wanted to be able to join conversations participate in meetings and express my ideas clearly I knew

that starting with a strong Foundation would be very important the teacher listened carefully to my goals and then suggested that we make a plan to reach them we agreed that having a structured plan would help me stay focused and make steady progress we needed to decide on how often we would have classes what we would study and how we would track my Improvement first we discussed the frequency of the classes I wanted to have regular practice because I believed that day daily lessons would help me learn faster the teacher agreed that daily classes would be

very effective we decided to have 1-hour classes every day this would give me enough time to practice and learn new things without being overwhelming next we talked about what we would cover in our classes since I was starting with the basics we needed to focus on fundamental English skills the teacher suggested that we begin with the basic rules of English this included learning how to ask questions answer questions and make sentences asking questions is a key part of communication the teacher explained that understanding how to ask questions would help me get information and engage in

conversations we would practice different types of questions such as yes no questions and questions that begin with words like what where when why and how answering questions is equally important we would work on how to respond to different types of questions this would help me practice forming clear and correct answers the teacher mentioned that answering questions well would also help me in real life conversations and during my work meetings making sentences was another crucial part of our plan we would practice forming simple and complex sentences this included learning how to use different verb tenses articles

and prepositions the teacher explained that building strong senten making skills would help me communicate more effectively and understand others better we also discussed the importance of practicing speaking from the beginning the teacher suggested that we spend a lot of time speaking English in our classes this would help me become more comfortable with the language and improve my pronunciation we plan to use various activities and exercises to practice speaking such as role playing discussions and presentations to track my progress we agreed on setting goals and reviewing them regularly the teacher suggested that we set shortterm and

long-term goals short-term goals could include mastering certain grammar rules or vocabulary while long-term goals could focus on overall fluency and confidence in speaking we decided to review my progress at the end of each week this would allow us to see how well I was doing and make any necessary adjustments to our plan the teacher promised to give me feedback and guidance to help me stay on track and make improvements I was very enthusiastic about starting our plan I felt that having a clear and structured approach would make learning English more manageable and effective the teacher's

experience and the well-thought out Plan gave me confidence that I would be able to make real progress in summary making a detailed plan was an essential step in my journey to learn English by deciding on daily 1-hour classes and focusing on the basics of asking questions answering questions and making sentences I felt prepared to start learning I was excited to follow the plan and work towards becoming fluent in English chapter 5 speaking from the start when our English classes began the teacher and I agreed on a very important rule we would speak only in English

this was a big decision and it was meant to help me practice speaking as much as possible I was excited but also a bit nervous about this approach I knew it would be challenging at first but I I was determined to make it work at the beginning of each class the teacher would greet me in English he would say things like hello how are you today and let's start our lesson I would respond trying to use the new words and phrases I was learning sometimes I felt unsure about how to reply correctly my answers might

not have been perfect but the teacher always always encouraged me to keep trying initially understanding each other was difficult the teacher spoke clearly but I struggled to catch every word there were times when I felt lost because I didn't understand what was being said the sentences sounded different from what I was used to and I had trouble following the conversation I often had to ask the teacher to repeat things or explain them in simpler terms despite these challenges I knew that it was important to keep going giving up was not an option because I had

set a goal to improve my English the teacher was patient and understanding chapter six embracing mistakes in our English classes we used a special strategy called speaking first the strategy was very important for my learning it meant that we would focus on speaking English before worrying too much about grammar rules I was a bit nervous about this approach but I knew it was necessary for my Improvement the idea behind speaking first was simple it meant that we would practice speaking English as much as possible even if my grammar was not perfect the teacher believed that

practicing speaking would help me become more comfortable with the language by speaking regularly I would get used to using English in real life situations one of the most important parts of this strategy was accepting mistakes I had to understand that making mistakes was a normal part of learning everyone makes mistakes when they are learning something new and English was no different the teacher explained that mistakes are not something to be afraid of they are opportunities to learn and improve at first this idea was a little scary for me I worried about making errors and how

in our classes we followed the speaking first strategy by focusing on conversation practice we did not spend too much time talking about grammar rules at the beginning instead we talked about various topics played language games and did role plays the goal was to get me used to speaking English naturally for example we might pretend to be in a restaurant the teacher would ask me what I wanted to order and I would respond in English at first my answers might have been grammatically incorrect But the teacher would help me correct them and continue with the conversation

this practice helped me feel more comfortable speaking even if my grammar was not perfect when words were not enough we used body language to help understand each other if I didn't know a word or if I made a mistake the teacher would use gestures or show pictures to explain for instance if I was trying to describe an activity but forgot the word I might act out the activity and the teacher would guess and correct me this made learning more fun and less stressful after each conversation or activity the teacher gave me feedback he would tell

me what I did well and what needed Improvement this feedback was very helpful it allowed me to see my progress and understand which areas needed more practice the teacher always gave constructive feedback meaning he focused on helping me improve rather than criticizing my mistakes as time went on I became more confident in my speaking abilities by practicing speaking English regularly and following the never be shy motto I started to feel more comfortable using the language my fear of making mistakes decreased and I was able to focus more on expressing my ideas and having conversations learning

a new language takes time and patience there were days when I felt frustrated because I made many mistakes or struggled with certain topics But the teacher always reminded me to be patient with myself he explained that language learning is a journey and progress ress comes gradually we also made sure to celebrate small successes along the way each time I improved or successfully communicated something in English we would acknowledge it this positive reinforcement kept me motivated and made the learning process enjoyable celebrating successes no matter how small helped me stay encouraged and excited about learning embracing

mistakes and focusing on speaking first made a big difference in my Learning Journey I learned to appreciate the process of making mistakes and using them as opportunities to improve as I continued with my English classes I felt more comfortable speaking and became more confident in my abilities in summary the speaking first strategy helped me focus on speaking English without worrying too much about grammar accepting mistakes and not being shy were key parts of this approach with practice patience and a positive attitude I became more confident in my English skills embracing mistakes allowed me to learn

and grow making the journey to fluency both challenging and rewarding chapter 7 progress in future after several months of learning English I noticed that speaking the language was becoming easier this was a big relief and a source of happiness for me I had worked hard and followed the plan we made and I could see that my efforts were paying off my English skills were getting better and I was starting to feel more comfortable with the language in the beginning speaking English was very challenging I struggled to form sentences and sometimes found it hard to keep

up with conversations but over time things started to change I practiced speaking English every day and this regular practice made a big difference I became more fluent and was able to express my ideas more clearly one of the most noticeable improvements was in my ability to have conversations I I could now talk about different topics with more confidence whether it was discussing a movie talking about my hobbies or sharing my opinions I felt more comfortable speaking in English my vocabulary had also grown which helped me express myself better along with speaking I also started to

understand English grammar better in the beginning grammar rules seemed very complex and confusing but as I practiced more I began to grasp the basic rules of sentence structure verb tenses and word usage the teachers feedback and the exercises we did in class helped me improve my grammar skills understanding grammar was important because it allowed me to create sentences that were clearer and more accurate I learned how to use different verb tenses to talk about past present and future events I also became more familiar with the correct use of Articles and prepositions as I made progress

I was able to overcome many of the challenges I faced at the start for example I used to find it difficult to understand native speakers when they spoke quickly but with practice I became better at listening and could follow conversations more easily I also became better at pronouncing words correctly pronunciation was something I worked on a lot and it helped me be better understood by others I practiced by repeating words and sentences paying attention to how they were pronounced one of the biggest changes was in in my confidence in the beginning I was nervous about

speaking English and worried about making mistakes but as I improved my confidence grew I started to feel more at ease when talking to others in English this confidence helped me participate more in conversations and express my thoughts more clearly even though my English has improved a lot I know that my journey is not over learning a new language is a continuous process and there are always more things to learn I still have many goals to achieve and challenges to overcome to keep improving I need to continue practicing English regularly speaking the language every day helps

me stay fluent and maintain my skills I plan to keep having conversations reading in English and listening to English media like movies and podcasts regular practice will help me keep my skills sharp and continue to grow as I look to the future I want to set new goals for my English learning these goals might include improving my writing skills learning more advanced vocabulary and practicing speaking in different situations for example I might set a goal to write essays or reports in English or to give presentations on topics I'm interested in with my improved English skills

I have more opportunities to explore I can look for new job opportunities that require English or participate in activities that involve speaking the language I am excited about the possibilities that learning English has opened up for me I also plan to continue seeking feedback from my teacher and others feedback helps me understand what I am doing well and where I can improve I will ask for advice on how to tackle any new challenges and how to make further progress finally I recognize that learning English is a lifelong journey even after achieving my current goals I

will continue to learn and grow there will always be new words to learn new GR gramar rules to understand and new ways to use the language embracing this mindset will help me stay motivated and keep improving in summary my English has improved a lot over the past 8 months I am more confident in speaking understand grammar better and can have good conversations however I know that there is still more to learn and many challenges ahead by continuing to practice setting new goals exploring New Opportunities and embracing lifelong learning I am excited about the future of

show me images related to the word words seeing pictures of objects or actions made it easier to remember and understand the words another method we used was practicing simple phrases and sentences we would repeat these phrases many times until they became familiar this repetition helped me get used to the sounds and structure of English I learned how to build sentences and use them in conversations role playing was another Technique we used the teacher and I would pretend to be in different situations like ordering food at a restaurant or asking for directions this practice helped me

become more comfortable speaking English in real life situations it also made the learning process more fun and interactive even though it was sometimes hard to understand each other I noticed improvements over time gradually I became more confident in my ability to communicate in English I learned to listen more carefully and pick up on the meaning of words through context and Body Language the teacher also gave me feedback after each class he would tell me what I did well and what areas needed Improvement this feedback was very helpful it allowed me to understand my strengths and

weaknesses and work on them the teacher's encouragement and positive reinforcement made me feel motivated to keep learning speaking only in English also helped me build my vocabulary every time I learned a new word I tried to use it in sentences and conversations this practice helped me remember the words better and use them more naturally I noticed that my ability to express myself improved as I learned more vocabulary one important lesson I learned during this process was that making mistakes is a part of learning there were times when I made errors in pronunciation or grammar But

the teacher always corrected me kindly he encouraged me to view mistakes as opportunities to learn and improve this positive attitude helped me overcome my my fear of making errors as we continued with our plan I started to see more progress I became more comfortable speaking English and could understand more of what the teacher was saying the classes became less stressful and I started to enjoy the process of learning speaking in English every day helped me become more fluent and confident in summary speaking only in English from the start of our classes was both challenging and

rewarding even though it was hard to understand each other at first we use different methods like body language visual aids and roleplaying to help with communication through practice and persistence I improved my English skills and became more confident in speaking the language
