[Music] [Music] I work in healthcare sales so I spend a lot of time in hospitals talking to doctors and nurses my job is to explain how our product works Works answer their questions and show them how it can help their patients I visit different departments and meet with various Medical Teams to make sure they understand everything about the product now I didn't have any product training or sales meetings planned for today so I decided to visit a hospital I hadn't been to before located a few towns away from where I live I thought it would be a good chance to introduce myself so I brought a box of coffee and some baked goods for the doctors nurses and staff hoping it would help break the ice and get them interested in talking to me my goal was to make a good impression and hopefully get them to schedule a meeting to discuss our product in more detail I moved to a new place for this job so I've been enjoying visiting different hospitals and getting to know my new state while I work I hadn't been to this area before but the hospital stood out as soon as I saw it in the distance the building was huge with a modern design and looked spotless the gardens around the hospital were well-kept with neatly trimmed grass and flowers the parking lot was completely full showing how busy the place was I got lucky and found a parking spot close to the entrance I got out of my car with the coffee and treats and walked toward the front doors they were locked so I needed to be buzzed in that was pretty normal since the pandemic began there was a sign asking me to say the name of the doctor or patient I was visiting when I rang the buzzer the front sliding doors opened and I walked inside the lobby was empty completely abandoned old wornout wheelchairs were scattered around some tipped over in odd positions I didn't see any staff or visitors anywhere which made the place feel even more deserted it was a huge Hospital in a busy City but not a single person was sitting in the waiting area and the decor looked very old and didn't match the impressive outside of the building at all the waiting chairs had faded designs and looked like they hadn't been used in years the carpet was dirty and stained and the glass doors to the connected rooms were cloudy and not clean feeling a bit surprised I walked over to the front desk but no one was at the front desk and it looked like no one had been there for a long time the whole desk where someone would usually sit was empty there wasn't even a pen computer or a cup of coffee in sight it felt strange to see such an empty space in a hospital there was a rotary phone on the desk yes a real rotary phone I'm 28 and I honestly think this was the first time I had to use one the phone had a Dusty surface as if it hadn't been touched in ages there was a handwritten note taped to it that said dial zero for operator the note looked old and worn adding to the feeling that this place had been forgotten I picked up the phone but there was no busy tone I hung up and tried again but it was completely dead by this point I was really freaked out but I was still determined to get the coffee and my business cards to the right people I turned around and saw that I was still completely alone in this place there weren't any patients or staff in sight I couldn't even hear distant voices or the usual sounds of a busy hospital I I set the coffee and food down on the front desk and started to look around and glance up and down the hallway attached to it the left side was completely dark making it hard to see and it looked like the light bulb had burned out I still didn't see anyone no doctors no patients and no nurses that's when I started to feel a little uneasy the silence was growing louder and the strange feeling I had when I walked in was getting stronger the empty chairs in the waiting area only added to the weirdness my whole job is about spending time in places like this so I know how busy hospitals usually are but this felt completely different so I went back into the lobby and picked up the items I had brought as I was leaving I counted seven wheelchairs in the lobby arranged as if they had been left behind in a hurry when I stepped back through the front doors into the parking lot a wave of relief washed over me the strange feeling was gone and I felt a little disappointed that I didn't get to meet my potential future clients I drove around the building to see if there was another entrance I should have used and maybe this one was under construction but I didn't see anything different the only other door was a back door that looked closed and uninviting so frustrated I decided to call my coworker who I took the territory over from to ask if they had ever been to this facility I thought they could give me some advice or at least let me know if they had experienced anything strange there they said they had been there several times before and the waiting room was nothing like I described [Music] I work as a night shift security guard at a large hospital and my job brings me into contact with all sorts of strange situations my experiences can range from normal to moments that are harder to explain I've gone many weeks without seeing or hearing anything unusual but then there are periods when the activity around me picks up making things feel much more intense now lately the activity seems to be happening more often and is becoming clearer and harder to ignore I don't know if it's just in my head or if something real is going on it could be nothing or it could be something I guess it could go either way my shift started like any other night over the weekend there was a patient in the hospital but they were discharged just after 6:00 p. m. by 7:00 p.
m. all the nurses had clocked out so I was the only one left in the building it's pretty quiet here at night now I'm also a college student so I was sitting at my desk doing some homework to pass the time then around 8:30 p. m.
my phone rang usually when they ring no one is on the other end the calls are always silent but this time was different when I picked up the phone I heard static but through it I could make out a woman's voice I answered like I normally would expecting the usual silence but hearing a voice was unexpected so it threw me off the voice was faint but I could tell it was there the woman said she was locked in the waiting room and couldn't get out out this sometimes happens with the cleaning crew because when someone enters the waiting room the doors lock automatically behind them there are two waiting rooms in the hospital one where I usually work which is close to my desk and another one at the opposite end of the building feeling concerned I grabbed my keys and hurried over to let her out but when I reached the waiting room it was empty and there was no sign of her I walked back to my desk sat down and tried to focus on my schoolwork I didn't think it was worth returning the call since I hadn't seen anyone and it's hard to miss someone in the waiting room then about 30 minutes later my phone rang again it was the same voice as before and they said they were still stuck in the waiting room I felt a mix of concern and confusion so I asked them where exactly they were I wanted to understand why they hadn't gotten out yet and how they could still be locked in they said they were in the waiting room by the parking lot which is one of the two waiting rooms so I went back to check again but once more I didn't see anyone I turned around and glance at the security monitor for that room the screen showed nothing but a still image nothing was moving to trigger the camera sure enough about 15 to 20 minutes later I got another phone call this time they asked why I hadn't let them out of the waiting room yet they were talking through static and the woman on the other end said she was just visiting her son I'm not sure why I hadn't thought of it before but we didn't have any patience after around 600 p. m.
