hello guys crispy and welcome back to another video in this one my friends i'm gonna be testing the nvidia geforce gtx furnace uh it's it's a geforce gtx 480 in 2021 now this is a very iconic gpu it's very known for being hot and loud and very power hungry as well kind of like ampere you know they're they're very similar actually now this is a fermi gpu of course it released back in 2010 for 499 us dollars remember the times when nvidia cared about competition yeah yeah guys compared to amd's competitor at the time which was the hd 5870 i believe uh well it was like 10 faster but it consumed a lot more power 250 watt card by the way and it ran extremely hot like 96 degrees celsius was normal in this card guys like what the hell i've actually been trying to get one of these for a while because uh they're kind of rare these days and i bought this one for 63 euros i'm not proud of that price i bought the gtx 580 for 20 like three years ago but well it has 1. 5 gigabytes of gddr5 memory it needs an 8 pin and a 6 pin power connector as you can see there and of course it needs a warning sign for heat because yeah so enough of that let's put it to the test here in 2021 shall we and here we are guys we got the gpu installed here in the system geforce gtx 480 showing up there in msi afterburner we're running the latest nvidia drivers available for it which are very old at this point like three years old you can see all of its specs right here including the vram amount 1. 5 gigabytes gddr5 as i told you and we're running it with the ryzen 9 5900x and 32 gigabytes of ram to avoid any cpu or ram bottlenecks in the games tested today but you only need something like an i5 4th gen time for red dead redemption 2 we're playing at 720p using the low settings some things are still on medium because these are actually the default settings from the game and because we are out of vram the game doesn't let us change anything this is completely awful by the way the game gave us like three or four warnings and error messages before we launched it saying that we don't have the drivers required to run it saying that we don't have the vram the gpu is old whatever the fact that it still opens right there too and it can play that 20 frames per second it's it's it's not too bad but it does look awful look at those textures and because the gpu is really old the game is not even able to utilize all of it it's hovering around like 80 to 85 percent usage you should definitely avoid red dead too and we're now playing probably the best optimized game uh out of today's list we're playing it at 1080p resolution this time around using high settings and no anti-aliasing okay there we go all right we're back in business we can do this guys we can definitely do this yes please we got this we i still got it somehow ah god damn it okay there we go i don't know what i'm doing today guys i'm sorry for the bad gameplay okay finally oh from behind again but well guys the point is the gtx 480 can provide a high refresh rate experience in this game unfortunately i am not playing with uh 144 hertz because with the current cables that i have i can't do it in my capture card but it will deliver a very very smooth experience like you saw nothing i i have no words this is the worst game of violent ever that i played so far i don't know okay 10 kills remaining okay uh 10 kills remember that's bad that we're we're definitely gonna lose this one oh my god almost died can i grab that thing oh i didn't grab it okay what are you doing what are you doing no no not from behind what you doing there we tend to dust i'm sorry i failed you my boys and girls but the the gtx 480 hasn't failed you it did get 154 fps on average with very respectable one percent lows this is days gone we're playing it at 720p resolution using low settings and there we go oh boy the frame skips are real guys uh it's very rough as you can see we're in a very intensive area by the way it's hovering around 30 frames so that means that the game is actually playable outside of here it's gonna be even better as i was saying outside it gets more fps it's not really dropping from 30 frames okay no no no no why the heck okay okay let's just uh hide behind the tree and try to get this guy with our axe no not what what are you doing buddy hello okay i can't kill him because otherwise youtube is gonna demonetize me yeah that's right for for some weird reason it sometimes happens here in days gone so we're just gonna run away from them actually i think we've seen enough already as well because this game is very consistent so it it won't really move too much from 30 ish to 40 fps on average which is actually decent and playable alright guys we're now playing gta 5 at the 1080p resolution using the directx 11 api and these are the settings right here like high settings i guess that's what it says there although i think these are like medium but okay oh wow so it gets it gets very often in that magical number of course of course it does why wouldn't it let's start counting our frames here and let's visit jack look at these sweet fps this is an amazing and smooth experience right now i don't want this car now this gpu in some older titles actually performs like a gtx 750 ti in fact i hate that car so i will break its door these are very nice fps that we're getting right now stop stop crashing chris focus focus god damn it come on huh i was looking at our beautiful average oh my god i don't understand it's been like what maybe like four or five videos that i've been getting 69 fps either on average or under one percent lows at some points so weird oh yeah almost almost all why didn't you move oh my gosh why did you oh okay okay jack i'm coming of course our fps always drop here no bunnies were um harmed during this video hello jack how's it going my friend how are you doing everything all right please answer me i'm waiting all right there we go thank you so much for answering me that's the real jack right there um yeah this is this is still good it's definitely very playable of course not a 60 plus fps experience it will drop into the 30s but i'm fine with that okay we're now playing pubg why is he so dark i don't like why is that a shadow here like in what the hell okay it's gone all right all right we're playing at 1080p resolution using very low settings yeah i don't know what i was expecting the gtx 460 for example got around these fps at 720p this can do it at 1080p which is great um but it's not 60fps okay i got one down all right oh they're so close i can smell them already come on oh there they are one down two down there we go can we do that that's a bot yeah that's probably what oh hello there we go i'm gonna stop oh there he is okay oh yeah boy everybody gets wrecked by the crispr [Music] [Laughter] [Music] oh boy oh he's so low hp right now yeah that that's another bot i feel like everybody in this server is a bot except for my boy hello there you actually died okay okay we got all right got him kind of screwed there right there and i'm dead as well like of course guys of course why would there be another number here right in the fps counter i don't yeah i don't know okay so we're playing rust at 1080p resolution using these settings like low settings with a few things here in the image effects tab i enabled ambient occlusion to give it a little bit of better visual fidelity and the ntl isn't set to a fast experience yes let's start counting our frames and let's get out of here get to a more intensive area which is kind of right here so yeah as you can see it's dropping into the 30s there's a guy uh okay oh come on come on all right it's fine so shadows don't really look that impressive do they it's completely normal in rust well if you want to achieve decent fps you gotta play like this at least at 1080p you could disable ambient occlusion and get like five more frames yeah right there look at that oh he actually has a chainsaw that's awesome unfortunately i don't have microphone in the game hi and that's the rest experience hello there he is oh oh he don't have anything hello he's not gonna kill me oh there's another guy oh oh i don't know they might be saying something yeah i didn't 2700 fps they're like crazy of course not gonna get that but 720p resolution using medium settings set all of this to medium as well disable motion blur and blur it is actually quite smooth getting almost 60 frames per second wow and doesn't stutter as well so this is great performance remember the gpu was already five years old when this game came out and this wasn't a game that was easy to run back then see an explosion here get close to it didn't drop our frames wow i'm impressed another explosion very close to it right now let's see 49 this is great i know this is not an intensive area in the witcher 3 but it's like average you know uh i still haven't gotten the time to get to know the guard or whatever the big city you know but you can see it's dropping into the 40s here still okay i mean if you don't mind the 720p resolution i think you could also play this one at uh high settings probably with about 30 fps it's better than like an xbox one for example pretty good and this is rainbow six siege at 1080p resolution using the low settings preset and that means that the render scaling is actually set to 50.
i i don't even know what i'm playing as but okay fps um like i i thought i had at this point i just i have no idea guys maybe me oh god everybody is relying on me now can we can we actually do this here oh god please don't die guys please don't die i need you i need all of you okay no it's not here god oh the ping the ping is real right okay finally we got the bomb here or located it oh god nope doesn't go through uh oh boy guys please don't you die like this free fire fps are dropping from 60 by the way so for a competitive experience you might want to drop the resolution but for a casual gamer it's above 60fps on average so it's pretty decent okay this is assassin's creed odyssey of course valhalla doesn't work uh even here we get a warning message and we're playing it at 720p resolution using the low graphics settings but this game struggles a little bit with for me gpus you'll see um yeah it has some major problems in terms of not only frame rates but artifacting in the vegetation for some reason i've seen this with every single gpu from the fermi architecture that i've tested in this game so far so there's that guys it could have been a playable experience for somebody used to like a geforce 210 they might call this playable because it's above 20 frames per second but of course with everything blinking like that it's just way too distracting and you shouldn't do this all right let's play some cs go at the low settings and 1080p resolution okay can i can i do some flicks here this game is just tending four minutes left don't like that too much these spawn points seem to be all over the place guys stutters by the way normal completely normal in older gpus unfortunately they broke the game what the heck are you doing that's not fair like he spawned right in front of me so stupid oh okay i got him i still got him all right so 224 fps average should i play another match oh my god they keep spawning right in front of me what the hell ah yeah yeah yeah that one is that was a big miss i'm fine though i'm fine it's all good all right oh my god why wasn't that the collateral okay so now we actually did something well alright first place pretty good game and now we're playing far cry new dawn which came out nine years after the gtx 480 and we're still here playing get 720p resolution using normal settings and as you can see guys it is quite playable i'm happy to see these results oh god oh it's jack no it's not jack what not this jack i can't see very well okay it's not jack we're fine it's okay it's okay if it was jack i would probably kill myself right now but no we're fine stutters again yeah you might want to play this one on low after roll dropping here closer to 30. it's still good still okay oh we got a little bit of a fight going on here what's happening all right we got this is everybody dead now i came late actually boom look we did it we did it i'm happy okay you you just do whatever what what are you doing why are you stealing the bad guy's bike where are you going don't oh my gosh that's okay and there she goes guys never to be seen again it's not stuttering anymore maybe stutters whenever you're loading in some new textures and then it's fine so you can play at medium settings the game is very consistent again so there aren't really many areas where it's going to drop by a lot and if it does it's going to go into like the low 30s so it's going to be very playable apex legends we're playing it at 800 by 600 which doesn't show up there and low settings over here you got to go into the config files to change it to 800x600 by the way it's not supported in game oh this is so bad guys apex legends really doesn't like uh any okay i'm gonna go there i don't care i told you to go there you don't want to go there i will as i was saying apex legends hates fermi architecture it just completely hates it and you can't play this game if you have a fermi gpu no matter which one it is even like the gtx 580 it can't run it properly as you can see sometimes it's fine but it will drop a lot especially in fights and in smoke effects and stuff yeah it's not worth it guys i think you should only play this game if your friends wouldn't really want you to play it with them because then it could be fun you can run around still um but it's not a competitive experience whatsoever and you gotta play at 800x600 to get somewhat decent frames and unfortunately at this resolution you can't spot people very well at the distance so you're basically screwed still i was not expecting these fps grassy area dropping into the 60s 50s oh boy yeah i can't i can't really control it that well every time you get shot uh fps drop as well it's pretty rough guys i don't recommend this 40s it's probably going to drop into the 30s in ultimates not good not what i recommend oh my god oh my god and we finally didn't average 69 fps so i'm i'm happy with these results now to be honest i i really am i expected slower performance in apex legends and we're playing fortnite at the 1080p resolution using competitive settings and performance mode i i hate i hate it no no please why do you gotta be like that why so now it's broken now fortnite is broken i don't get it i think a lot of people playing this game with like gt 730s gt710s gt 740s they they will probably be very happy to have a gtx 480 because this these are insane frame rates compared to those gt uh gpus okay i'm just gonna throw all of my things here because why i i don't care where is it there we go there we go and then another one there please don't build things thank you very much yes at least we're playing against bots so i don't die right away oh boy what the heck was what what is what is happening what the hell well that's interesting uh that's a new way to travel i guess i'm not complaining oh don't yeah start building a castle of course can't you 1v1 me like a true fortnight player i am not a true fortnite player but okay it's not dropping that much it drops into like the the low hundreds high 90s it's pretty nice hello but how's it going yeah shoot that way because i'm clearly there ah it's like pop g oh boy oh this is not a butt i think okay i still got him am i gonna kill him oh oh thank god they finally got me lastly we're playing battlefield 1.
