Wait for it. Wait for it! The four seasons!
Winter, spring, summer, and fall! Elmo loves the seasons! Oh, and wants to find out more about them.
Hey! Let's ask Elmo's friend Smartie! Let's call her together.
- [Elmo And Kids] Oh Smartie! - Hiya Elmo! I'm dressed for my favorite season of all.
Can you guess? It's winter! I can tell you lots about winter.
- That's perfect, Smartie! Because Elmo wants to learn about all four seasons! - What do we do to learn something new?
- [Both] We look it up! - Searching for seasons. Here we go.
Seasons are different times of the year. Each season has its own kind of weather. There are four seasons.
Winter is the coldest season. That's when it snows. Next, comes spring.
Spring is the rainiest season. The warm weather and the rain helps flowers bloom so spring smells great! After that it's summer!
Summer is hot. A good time to cool off in the water. Then comes fall when leaves change color and fall from trees.
But don't worry, they'll grow back next spring. I told you my favorite season is winter. - Yeah!
- What's yours? - Well Elmo likes winter. Winter's cool.
Or spring. And summer. Oh, and fall!
- But that's all four, Elmo! (both laugh) Well, I'm gonna go look at my calendar and count how many days til winter! - Bye bye Smartie!
Boy. The four seasons are all so different. Hey!
That gives Elmo an idea! Come on, let's play a game together! Come on, come on!
This is a park in all four seasons. Winter, spring, summer, and fall. Can we put these four kids in the seasons they're dressed for?
Where should a girl in a bathing suit go? In winter? - [Girl] You don't wear a bathing suit in snow.
- [Child] She's too cold! - [Elmo] Which season do people wear bathing suits in? - [Children] Summer!
- [Elmo] That's right! Now what about this boy with the rake? - [Girl] You rake leaves in fall.
- [Boy] Leaves fall off in fall. - [Elmo] Elmo guesses this boy wouldn't use an umbrella in the winter. - [Girl] Umbrellas are for rain, not snow.
- [Child] It rains a lot in spring. - [Elmo] And you dress warm in, - [Children] Winter! - [Girl] What's the carrot for?
- Oh! You need a carrot in winter to make a snowman. The seasons are all so different.
That makes Elmo wonder even more! Does Mr Noodle has a favorite season? Let's go ask him, okay?
Hey, Mr Noodle! Oh! It's Mr Noodle's brother, Mr Noodle.
Hi Mr Noodle. Do you have a favorite season Mr Noodle? You do?
What season is Mr Noodle's favorite? - [Child] An icy drink. - [Girl] Sunglasses?
- [Children] It's summer! - [Elmo] What kind of clothes does Mr Noodle wear in the summer? - [Child] No, that's for when it snows.
- [Boy] It's a winter coat. - [Elmo] Okay, what does Mr Noodle think about when he thinks of summer? Oh, nice kite, Mr Noodle.
- [Children] No. - [Boy] You don't wear a kite. - [Child] You fly a kite.
- [Elmo] What did Mr Noodle wear last summer? Yeah! That's what you wear on a sunny day Mr Noodle!
Good job, Mr Noodle. Careful, Mr Noodle. The kite's getting away!
Mr Noodle! (laughs) - [All] Bye, Mr Noodle! - Boy.
