it's just been the honor of a lifetime I think any young person any little girl you get to put on a Disney princess dress and be her for a day let alone 6 months of shooting in London on these incredible sets in a Sandy pow design dress it's just been the most amazing experience and I can't wait to share it with you all [Music] [Applause] all right folks let's dive into what's happening with Disney because as of August 29th 2024 they're in some hot water now Disney's big bosses especially a guy named Bob buer have
been trying to save some cash across the board but it's stirring up a whole mess and guess which movie's caught in the middle yep Snow White 2025 this isn't just a small hicup it's causing real trouble for Disney's plans now let's talk about how people are reacting because when that Snow White 2025 in trailer hit the screens at d23 it did not go over well I mean people are seriously upset we're seeing a huge backlash and folks are not just grumbling over dinner they're starting a full-on boycott of the movie imagine that a Disney movie
getting boycotted people are tired of seeing their favorite fairy tales turned into something they barely recognize all because the company wants to push certain messages instead of just telling a good story it's a big deal and Disney's definitely feeling the heat from fans who are saying enough is enough tell me it's not true tell me Snow White hasn't gone woke Disney is addicted to losing Millions at the box office in the name of Wess the new Snow White you can expect nobody to be White Snow White herself is Hispanic the dwarves aren't white either and
neither are they dwarves it's not right because these are roles made for actors of my stature roles that aren't ever really given I can't go out for the Harrison Ford or the George Clooney rolls because that's not for me these dwarf roles are for people of my stature and now it's taken away it I don't feel that's right all right moving on to what's stirring up even more talk around this snow white 2025 in drama so the big issue many folks have is how Disney is really pushing this Dei diversity equity and inclusion agenda in
the movie now don't get me wrong diversity is great and all but lots of fans feel like it's being forced at the expense of just telling a good old-fashioned story people go to see these movies to escape to jump into a world of fantasy and Magic not to get lectured and when the focus shifts too much towards pushing a message some fans feel like the magic just Fizzles out now here's where it gets even spicier Rachel Ziegler the actress playing Snow White has been right in the eye of this storm despite all the backlash she's
still part of Snow White 2025 but get this she's been asked from any future Disney projects because of all this controversy yeah it's that serious she's kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place still tied to this movie that's got fans up in arms and now she's even losing future gigs over it fans are growing more concerned about Disney's new Snow White remake mostly because of what the lead actress has been saying to the Press Rachel Ziggler has been described as a walking PR disaster for Disney we've heard her bag the classic story
before but there's more there's always more let's have a listen I mean you know the the original cartoon came out in 1937 and very evidently so um there is a big focus on her love story um with a guy who literally stalks her yeah weird weird weird so we didn't do that this time so no so no Prince or a different kind of Prince we have a different approach to what I'm sure a lot of people will assume is a love story just because like we cast a guy in the movie Andrew burnap great dude
um it's uh it's one of those things that I think everyone's going to have their assumptions about what it's actually going to be but uh it's really not about the love story at all which is really really wonderful and whether or not she finds love along the way is anybody's guess until 2024 um all of Andrew scenes could get cut who knows it's Hollywood baby this is starting to sound nothing like Snow White they've just got a character named Snow White but the story seems to be entirely different we've heard these comments from the actress
playing Snow White who seems to have contempt for the original story character well it seems as there's no appreciation for the Magic Kingdom in the original magic of Disney you know they're celebrating their 100th year of movie making and instead of this woman talking about that and saying she's so proud to give her play on it Snow White she's trashing the original version not paying any homage to history and basically making it woke and we all know how that goes we've just seen several Disney movies one stranger World in 2022 lost 147 million and Elemental
their worst box office opening in 28 years wow and I just don't understand if they do want to have these woke themes and and modern stories as they see them then write a new one why take a classic and basically trash it where it doesn't resemble anything to what people want to see I mean that's now let's get into some behind the scenes drama Rachel zler isn't just sitting quietly through all this mess she's pointing fingers she's come out and said that it's the marketing team's fault that Snow White 225 in is getting all this
heat according to her their promotional tactics pretty much set the stage for the boycott seems like every time there was a poster drop or a new trailer it just stirred the pot even more and got people even more fired up and speaking of marketing wos it turns out the whole camp pain for this movie has been one headache after another it's been so rough in fact that Disney is now scrambling to put together a brand new marketing Squad hoping to turn this train wreck around they're basically trying to clean up a spilled mess while the
spill is still happening can you imagine the pressure to try and make this movie look good now after all the backlash now the Heat's really on over at Disney and the execs are pretty much freaking out because this boycott isn't just a smalltime issue it's hitting them hard they're so rattled that they're pushing for re-shoot in October 2024 hoping to fix whatever they can and maybe just maybe turn the tide on all the negative reactions they've even got Rachel zler and other key players on speed dial pressing them to jump back in and help save
this sinking ship if I'm going to stand there 18 hours in a dress of an iconic Disney princess I deserve to be paid for every hour that it is streamed online now you wash the dishes now you wash the dishes tidy up the room you tidy up the room you clean the fireplace you clean those hards and I will use the broom he use the [Music] broom all right let's dig a bit deeper into the Fallout from this snow white 2025 in Fiasco because it's not just about the movie tanking it's affecting the entire Disney
Merchant ice machine Disney had this whole lineup of snow white gear ready to roll out from action figures and Dolls to themed clothing and accessories you know the kind of stuff that flies off the shelves when a movie hits big but now with fans turning their backs on the movie Disney's hit the brakes hard on production they're worried all this merch is going to end up sitting unsold collecting dust in some warehouse for a company that makes Bank on merch sales that's a serious blow and the money just gets deeper Disney's already sunk a whopping
$300 million into this movie and now they're gearing up to Shell out another 10 to5 million on re-shoot they're basically gambling with even more cash hoping these changes will pull the movie back from the brink of disaster it's a risky move pouring more money into a project that's already causing them a headache but it seems like they're willing to try anything to salvage something from this mess this isn't just about one movie going sideways ways though Snow White 2025 in is like the canary in the coal mine for Disney signaling deeper troubles in how they're
choosing and handling their big projects there's a growing disconnect between what Disney thinks the audience wants and what the audience actually wants if Disney keeps prioritizing certain messages or agendas over genuinely engaging storytelling they might find themselves dealing with more flops and fan backlash it's a wakeup call for them to start tuning into their audience's voices instead of assuming they'll buy into anything with a Disney label so what do you all think about Disney's scramble to fix things is it too little too late or do they have a shot at turning things around chime in
