welcome to textile vlog stay with us and enrich your textile knowledge polyester is a synthetic fiber that's usually derived from petroleum this fiber is one of the world's most popular textiles and it is used in thousands of different consumer and industrial applications [Music] ethylene polyester is the most commonly produced from a polyester fiber how is polyester fiber made step 1 creating a monomer the process of creating polyester fiber begins with reacting ethylene glycol with dimethyl terraplate at high heat this reaction results in a monomer step two creating a polymer the monomer is then reacted with
dimethyl terephthalate again to create a polymer step 3 extruding this molten polystyrene polymer is extruded from the reaction chamber in long stripes and the stripes are allowed to cool and dry and then they are broken upward into small pieces step 4 spinning the resulting chips are then melted again to create a honey like substance which is extruded through spinning it to create fibers [Music] the fiber is then transferred to winding machine and produce a sliver that looks like noodles then the slivers are taken to the skrill stage this krill is the first stage of drawing
section into the roller of drawing machine the slivers are drafted in several steps by using chemicals like lubricant and titanium dioxide then we get 1.4 denier primary fibers this primary fiber automatically runs into the dryer to get moistures free smooth fiber moisture-free primary fiber automatically transferred to the cutting machine and cut it into desired length as per requirement of the buyer after cutting we get the moisture-free smooth polyester staple fibers characteristics of polyester polyester fabrics and fibers are extremely strong polyester is very durable resistant to most chemicals stretching and shrinking wrinkle resistant mildew and abrasion
resistant polyester is hydrophobic in nature and quick drying it is easily washed and dried polyester retains its shape and hence is good for making outdoor clothing for harsh climates and uses a polyester fiber polyester is used alone or blended with wool cotton flax and other fibers provides an extensive range of hardware in comfortable easily looked after garments with high dimensional stability and wrinkle resistance use of polyester in april reduces production costs but it also decreases the comfortability of aperil polyester fiber also used as curtains floor coverage laundry equipment conveyor belt ropes net cell cloth swing
thread electrical insulation while some forms of polyester are biodegradable most of them are not and polyester production and use contribute to pollution around the world thanks for watching please subscribe this channel to get more update and if you like these videos please share with your friends
