Have you ever seen someone who needed help badly, but instead of accepting that help, they simply chose to blame those who didn't help them? Many people today live by blaming those who didn't help them before. Many people today, instead of looking for a solution to their pain, they keep looking for people to blame.
Do you know why I'm like this? My pastor didn't visit me, my father didn't help me, my mother preferred my brother over me. And I'm in this situation because no one reaches out a hand to me, no one does anything for me.
The world should stop and come to my rescue. But no one does that because everyone is out for themselves, God for all, because we are here suffering and there is no one to do anything for us. And what are we going to, have you ever heard this speech before?
I'm tired of seeing people who, instead of simply saying: " I want help, come rescue me, come, come , come help me. " No, what does the person do? They simply start finding culprits and they start justifying their problem based on the lack of love from others.
It's very easy to live like this, it's very easy to blame others. It's very easy to say: "Look, the current state I'm in is not entirely my fault, it's also the fault of A, B, and C. " No, isn't it time for us to stop finding culprits for the way we are and simply say: "Yes, I want help.
" The Bible tells us a story just like this, exactly like this. The Bible tells us the story of a man who had been paralyzed for 38 years and sat by a pool. And around that pool called Bethesda, many sick people stayed there .
And when suddenly the water stirred, it was an angel of the Lord who stirred the water. The first one to enter the water was healed of any disease. And that man had been ill for 38 years.
And suddenly Jesus arrives, goes up to him, and says: "Do you want to be healed? " And what is most interesting is that the Bible says that Jesus, knowing he had been in that condition for so long, asked him: "Do you want to be healed? " Do you know what we see in this text?
That Jesus knows how long we have been suffering? I think Jesus knew that in that entire pool, among all those sick people there, the guy who had been waiting the longest was that paralytic. And Jesus went to him with a very simple question.
Do you want help? Do you want to be healed? Do you want your blessing?
What was he supposed to say, guys? Three letters. Y, E, S.
Yes, yes. Now I don't want to. The guy went there , pulled out the file of offenses he had, and started reading name by name from the file.
Look, here’s the thing , Jesus. This place is such a clique. It's very complicated here.
Who knows, maybe that's the excuse many are giving for not going to church. In church, there are those who are the favorites, the darlings. So, if you're not friends with the pastor's children or the upper echelon, nobody even looks your way.
And then you start badmouthing and saying, "Look, when I try to get into the pool, someone else gets in before me. " So this here, Jesus, is a, you know, a mafia, and we can't get anything done because you need friends to push you into the pool, and no one here is friends with anyone. And p.
Can you imagine the creator of the universe next to you asking, "Do you want to be healed? " And you trying to find ways to offend those who didn't help you. We see this a lot.
I used to be like that a lot. And I think there was always a moment in everyone's life where we were like that, where we did something, where we said something that wasn't really the answer God wanted. God wanted a simple yes.
And we decided to complicate it. You know what Jesus did? He didn't listen to his story anymore.
He just looked at him and said, "Pick up your mat and walk, you are healed. Just go. " And the man got up.
And the man was healed. And Jesus, look, disappeared. Disappeared.
And that caused a huge problem because that day was a Sabbath and that man carried his mat. And carrying a mat on the Sabbath was work. And whoever worked on the Sabbath was committing a very grave sin against God's law.
So, look, this man was looking for culprits, even though his healing was right beside him. Can I tell you something? Sometimes you have bitterness toward your church, your brothers, your friends, your, heck, even your husband, your wife, your children, who knows.
And you keep seeing the flaws of one or another, and Christ is right by your side saying, " The moment you stop finding culprits, I am right here beside you to heal you. " The moment you stop looking for who is responsible for you being the way you are, I am here to heal you. Jesus is nudging you today, saying: "Hey, do you want to be healed?
" Hey, do you want to be transformed? Hey, do you want to live a new life? Hey, do you want to get out of this paralysis?
Hey, do you want to walk again? Hey, do you want to be okay? Hey, do you want to be transformed?
I say yes. I say, I want to. And that is what I will live from today on.
May you live that from today on as well. Father, I bless every life. Remove from us this complaining person who knows perfectly well the flaws of others who didn't help us, but cannot see our own pain and our own paralysis.
