and finally because it's well deserved and what's needed the icon hello hello so this is something that definitely needs to be done because people have to realize that you are a tiger or the ballroom team you know you help the ball moving along that's right let's talk how are you doing today i'm good how are you i'm doing well so one let's talk about how the hell did you look into coming into the world well i want to say um i got into the baltimore scene by ian nosey i went down finally uh made my

way down to uh the village the west 4th street we found unique the clothing store and these kids were doing clubs and i started to hang out at the clubs with them and they just had to be baldwin people at the same time as the infamous uh museum attack happened and that's how i got into ballroom what year was that this was about eighty eight eighty eight eighty eight okay so what was because what was for the people what was the ballroom today the border music of them was anything that was hot at the time

uh what was being played in tracks what was being played at sound factory um just the beats that they were um you know what what they were playing and they had uh some similar plastic supports love hangover um let's go let's go was already in play um you know percolated was very hot um that was hot in the club too yes yes it was hot in the club um but that was the new way song the hog was a new way song it's in trance over to the trans position though to the phone queens what

is it crashing that's the crashes one um master blaster also in the mix um there's a it was a lot of them um it's just it's just so many different ones different versions of um love is a message it was a whole like set of mixes of love is the message um dj sneak junior vasquez um it was uh i was it's a whole bunch of them so you musically um you had to work with what was there it was no it wasn't a jukebox thing um you were you were not spoiled to be honest

we spoiled the ballroom we gave you your own music we gave you options for you to listen to then it was whatever they do on you had to perform to you know it was they asked for you know change the beat once a while that you can hear it on some of the tapes but it's not going to be a crash or anything you know you have to perform you have to turn it on and do you like that music of yesteryear compared to now how anyone could basically evolve to anything that could really kind

of test for personal performance by putting anything on i i like that people vote to a lot of different things um when i first started to learn how to vote i had to learn from reggae dancehall the hip-hop to go go everything and also learning how to dip you know get to the board eight counts get to the four and seven counts get to the floor until you have the maca ella one talking about the i was actually in italy um and i was coming back uh shopping with a woman who owned the store and

i went to the octagon and at that time all my friends had gone i didn't know anybody that i knew um danny um oh my god what's his name right now but um he's in atlanta but he used to pick me up from penn station we used to go to the octagon and um one night i was there and he wasn't and it was a group of people over there and they would not vote with me like you know because in my own world and i'm like okay but i saw this one person and it

was it was it was the guy in drag i didn't know what it was but it was mysterious fuel and he was doing this thing this tick thing and he was doing this he was like yeah and i was like whoa what is that and that was the market and seeing it just like that's not going to happen yes to see that it was very very dramatic like the first time you saw it versus you know you very systematically break down to the floor and to watch someone just hit it i would say that because

there's a part of that catwoman performance actually did but she kind of did it which one the latex bowl uh the one where she's in the the patent leather when she actually had the cat she kind of did it look at it again look at it here so i'm not that was before i met mystery i don't know a big thing with them it was i know that i think actually definitely it that was she named it mystery just did it um it was it was great seeing him i i never met him before but

i met her that night um and that was when i started to vogue and my had morphed from new way to old way i i was actually broken to um that rowdy [ __ ] and i did a dip and they just argued and they all came around me and that's when i met all the rest of the balkan kids so what was the first house that you own the first house i was ever in was a house out of virginia called charisma charisma possible oh about a week no other houses one everybody else went

to begin a house in virginia i was leaving i was getting ready to go to italy um then that's when the overs came up um uh dngs and also the anya's which then became most of them became his rockets no um i actually came i went to italy and when i came back i was with um the essence people the essences albert um what's his name too durant and um and michael but they were disbanding and saran had gone to be amused rocky and we were trying to figure out what was going on and in

between his time uh the allures had seen me and they said no shane you oh you don't become part of the lord and i said i was uh in between doing something with someone else thank you and they asked me again and the third time it was up in here so i said yes and i've been involved would you say that when you made your name as a dj i actually started i wasn't a dj at first when i went to italy i just started collecting music all kinds of music um just amassing and knowing

who did it it was like being if you did but i wasn't playing and when i got to italy i had so much music they wanted me to play in a club but i wanted to play house where they wanted me to play hip-hop so it kind of worked out and i became a dj there and when i came back to the stage the first time i started to make little mixes for my friends with a little introduction if you have some of those that's where those voices came from um and i would just you

know do a little skit in the beginning and then do a whole mix but i was making tracks and giving them to my mentor cedric from cedric um first of all i was a junior basketball head anything they played in tracks new york obviously nothing and i was i was convinced there was nothing else like that and what happened was one weekend i got to go down to dc finally because i was way too young before finally i got to go to d.c blew my mind the music blew my mind what they were playing yeah

what they were playing blew my mind i just didn't um it was totally different and i got bit by the bug by cedric uh going off but cedric wasn't playing then it was another region first and then we couldn't have said it took over did you tell the difference not really because they played the same music and it was really seamless at first i thought it was dj but um it was the music was so crazy and we watched the kids in dc um robert uh mugler all these people oh my god it was crazy

you know and plus the discus these discussions if you know anything about that any time of night they start doing that it's done let me ask you this besides you know it is totally different you will see if you if you remember the size of tracks i think that's just tracks did you see i've been uh yeah i've been attracted before i've been tracking like 2000 okay tracks the entire main floor was full you had the exhibition dancers at the beginning then you had the house dancers in the middle and right now three quarters of

the way to the stage was where the walking kids and the voguing kids we just meshed nobody bumped each other they liked what you did you liked what they did we were all out on the floor no problems no fights no nothing and we did it all night long because it was like we didn't even there was no question sunday you knew where we were going tuesday you knew you were gone saturday knew you were going promoters all that stuff we got into promotions and curating nights it didn't even matter i didn't even know what

that was it was just open and we just went to the club and you voted and walked runway all night long all night i mean like come out drenched extra outfits and stuff and you you miss it you miss it now it's like they have lounges you know and i you know my my mother cedric plays in dc now and i haven't seen them because i don't know what i'm going to get when i go in there and i play so much everywhere else it's like i'm not going to listen radio music not hip hop

radio music why that was the reason we came to the club to hear stuff you've never heard before you know and it's it's it's sad and it i'm glad i grew up in that time i'm glad it did so tell me some of the things that you cannot stand djing [Laughter] first of all i love everybody at all i do believe me and you know and i tell you all the time sometimes when you come to me things are happening and you get a bark you know but it's the change is no love between anybody

that comes to a ball you know and we've done it all the time just this one with you and kelly kelly let's see but it changes so long um but really if you're going to it's kind of hard to concentrate on what's going on at the ball especially when you hear the commentator start and i'm playing with them i can't concentrate on you talking to me about i need to get this record and then can i send i can't i can't i'm working and you know we we've tried to do a system sending in um

your productions early this is working pretty good pretty good they got a lot better than that phones it was the [ __ ] showing yeah because it was like okay i'll plug this and do this and phones i love y'all i think sometimes some of the people don't perform they kind of want you to create magic in the spot well the the brief the thing is we actually are creating magic right a lot of the times when you hear what i mean when they're not fully prepared no but they want what they have but get

it to us early because the thing is if you send it to me you don't have to worry about it i already got it i'll bring it to the ball with me all we're going to do is put you in order um you know oh the in the other one this one i can't see y'all know what happens when i can't see we stop the ball also um and what why do you need to see so they can understand i need to see what's going on so i can make you feel those extra classes and

all that stuff that's going on why you know this yes if if you come out there if you give it to me from the beginning anyone it doesn't have to be one of the main superstars you can be somebody but you're giving from the beginning i'm going to feel you and we're going to get it i'm going to give you your moment that's what i want to see it's not because no i just want to see i want to make the cloud go up for you i want to make you go in that's why we're

doing it okay now tell me now who there are so many and it is is so many i'm going to leave a lot of people out i'm serious because you know i'll sit up there and chase people down and be like look come here you turned it because i didn't see your post you wrote about pandora yes your hands sweet and she's a new girl and i think that you know that no i think that it was beautiful the thing the thing about it is i'm a performance kid the reason i gave you such a

hard time is because i performed i battled the old way i battled the new lakers i battled the vlog femme girls it's documented you can see it so when i give you a hard way to go that's why i want you to be the best that you can because we had to be the best that we could be you want those moments like the people that you idolize let's get it you know tighten it up you know make it look great you know a lot of the things now i'm gonna tell you something let me

tell you something listen a lot of the performances that you do to people are watching on clips when these people get these jobs for these companies that's what they're looking at if you look sloppy on the clip you're not gonna get it straighten it up this is not a read i'm telling you they're looking at a bunch of stuff finesse it out i put that up there finesse your vote control your vote because when you do they're like oh that looks really good that looks great oh yeah get them and to be honest i think

that's missing a lot of but you can be dramatic right and be precise exactly you can you can be so dramatic and get it together like this you know you've asked about the people pandora um of course um um star um uh so many other gods who's that kiki house as well what's that shot tatum is in jersey old navy won the ball that old nape unbelievable um white blue glare from overseas um i'm looking at him now shy um i love bill y'all know i do china of course all the the femme creatures jack

just had the the issue this made that slayed that all the the twisters that came out for the uh coasting digital thing jelani and the rest of them unbelievable um it's just that um i want you guys to do it and i want you guys to do it where people pick you because it looks great not because you're just you know spinning or going wild or anything like that which is the ah girls don't do the eye girls we don't do that girls do the odd because you actually did something you know but straighten it

up because they're looking at you and um the balls overseas they have the crowd there they start on time uh it's uh they have their their equal share of drama um but it's more of a it is a friendly feel uh the competition's there but they they're they're still in the hugging phase and all that stuff they're getting ready to get status so you know that's not gonna last too long but um the venues are better but a lot of them um the prices for their for their things they're going to uh into a corp

um an agreement with the company and get a venue they don't charge more than like ten ten dollars of six six to ten dollars period but then again they don't reap all the benefits the weekend you know you throw a ball you get you know they gave you the place they'll break you off something but they um the talent of they go for the hard things they go for the hard things old way precision new way and they are killing it and they're coming after kids will vote [Music] straighten it up please because they're gonna

give you a run for your money you can see them anarchy got pushed back because of the um the infrastructure of the building it was a state it was an arena and the building was built inside of it the top globe is not finished we heard that it was supposed to be finished and they couldn't guarantee it was going to be finished so instead of trying to risk it i had to cancel it but it will come back it'll probably be back this year i'm going to check the schedule later um yes 2020. it was

the anniversary of my mom's death which is the reason we had to be right before the holiday that was the reason it was there wasn't trying to be fierce or anything like that or try to make you come to dc three times you know it was just dan the restroom but anarchy is coming back we'll get that freaking baby tiger back because they had to pay for that eight thousand dollars for a baby tiger i don't even know about the baby yeah and two handlers okay i'll just tell the people and they don't know if

they can follow me you can oh sorry kick i'm all over social media vulnerable um you can find it anywhere instagram um yahoo twitter all that stuff music is everywhere um amazon itunes uh spotify rhapsody you're global global global being global and one other thing support the ballroom djs let me tell you if people don't understand being a ballroom dj is the hardest dj job there is because you're listening to 20 different things going on and they're trying to give you the best that they have trying to surprise you with nasty beats and everything some

of them work some of them don't you know but you know respect them for trying to do the job that they're doing because i really all of them are great who is someone who wants that you can read you're really close really cosine uh cosign queen beats uh definitely love mike and burrell and and the rest of them scott shaker question mark um pills galactic base uh pump the beat and of course the rest of the elite these djs uh the ones overseas um all of them done maybe one day you guys can all come
