Well, I have some bittersweet news, but today's episode will be the last. Now, the team and I keep saying we're just suns setting the show because never say never, the sun could rise again. We're giving it that option.
But for now, it is time for a [music] new chapter, which I'm going to share more with you about in just a little bit. But first, I do want to say thank you, thank you, thank you. The Rachel Cruz show started 12 years ago with just a little idea in my head.
And if you didn't watch last episode, make sure to go back and look cuz we were looking at old clips um from the beginning of the channel. But back gosh this would have been yeah 12 13 years ago I remember going and talking to my leader at Ramsey Jeremy and I was like hey I want to start putting videos out on this thing called YouTube and people were vlogging then it was like very very very new and I was like but this is a great way for me to like get my message out and like to do content and because at the time it was really only speaking like I wasn't doing the Dave Ramsey show at all there were no podcasts like there was nothing like This was really the first and I remember he went to Best Buy and bought a camera for me over lunch and it was one of those open box specials because someone had returned it because it was such a crappy camera. [laughter] So super cheap, I think a tripod and he was like here, you know, you can figure it out.
And I was like, "Okay. " And I remember having a little flip camera and sitting in this closet at Ramsey. Well, for a while I bounced around but like at Ramsey Solutions at the office, the old office, not this office.
and I found this little closet and I like started like yeah filming videos and I would edit them on iMovie on my laptop. I had no idea what I was doing but then over time they kind of gained some traction. So then the company was like okay yes we can give you some resources.
So I had someone do audio and video and then I got an editor and then it just kind of has grown from there like slowly but surely then get I got a set like and the sets have changed over the years. I mean all of it. So, it has just been a wild ride, but I have loved every single minute of it, looking into a camera [laughter] for hours on end during the week and not knowing who's out there, but then going and traveling and whether I'm at events or here doing the Ramsey Show or whoever it is, people come up and they're like, "Oh my gosh, I love this show.
" I'm like, "Okay, that's you watching like you out there. I don't see you, but I know you're out there. " Um, but it has it has been such a pleasure doing this show.
It has been so fun. I have so enjoyed working not only with the team here at Ramsay, but getting to be able to bring hopefully lifegiving content out into the world as I'm figuring this out too. Um, but man, the support of the team is just absolutely amazing.
And what I love about it is that this show kind of paved the way for the Ramsay network. Like there was no Ramsey Network, you know, 12, 13 years ago. But as this content was working, the idea of bringing other shows and creating other shows under the Ramsay platform really blossomed because at the time it was just the Dave Ramsey show.
And that's even shifted to the Ramsay show because there's other hosts besides Dave. And now we have incredible people like John and Ken and George, like all these, you know, content creators out there now under Ramsay's platform. And so it is always kind of fun to be like, yes, like you look back over time and stuff doesn't just happen overnight.
success or you know getting somewhere. It does not. It is the people that stay in the game long term.
And I feel like this was one of those stories which I just loved. And and again the team behind this like you guys don't realize it because you know you just get a snippet of this video, you know, three times a week. But there are producers, writers, designers, editors, audio guys, the content team.
I mean Ramsay doesn't do things small. And the team around this I'm so thankful for. Not only do we have the most fun team and everyone says that like when they if someone comes on like we heard this is the most fun like it is.
But the content meetings figuring out what type of episodes we're going to do. Um actually kind of scripting scripting them out and having talking points under them and if we need stats or articles that titling I mean like the amount of work that goes into these kind of things is unbelievable. And so I could not do it without this incredible team.
So all this to say, when something ends, it doesn't mean that it's over, right? So the Rachel Cruz show content will still live here on YouTube and podcast, and we may be throwing in some clips every now and then. You never know.
But I am a big believer in prioritizing what brings you joy and what's making a big impact. And so there's other things that I've been doing with my job that are growing and are really exciting. and I only have so many hours in the day and so like just kind of like rep prioritizing what does this look like and so everything from social so come say hi to me on Instagram I will still be there and of course you can find me hosting other shows it will not be on this set so goodbye sets just a little moment to the old living room that we've had here it's not really a living room it's a set but it's been with me for a number of years um but I will be on the Ramsay show and Smart Money Happy hour.
>> Rachel, come on. What are you waiting for? Get over here.
We got a show to film. >> Yes. Okay.
Okay, George. I'm coming. I'm coming.
>> Goodbyes are hard. Champagne's not going to drink itself. >> Oh, I know.
>> 13 incredible years. >> Can you believe it? >> The Rachel Cruz Show Walk so smart money happy hour could run.
[laughter] >> That's right. I actually already told them, but I was the first show on the Ramsey network. Yes, I was.
>> Humble brag. >> Humble brag. But yeah, you guys, we will be here every Thursday still bringing y'all the laughs, all the cocktails and mocktails with my good friend George Camel.
Yes. >> You want to say the tagline one last time for good luck? >> We'll close out the last episode of the Rachel Cruz Show with and you will always remember it.
Don't forget to take control of your money and create a life you love. Thanks you [music] guys. It's been a good run.
>> Cheers. >> [music] >> That's good. That's nice.
