The Bible reminds us time and time again that Jesus is coming back. From the early church until now, believers have lived with this blessed hope of Christ's return. Jesus himself said in John 14:3, "I will come again and receive you unto myself.
" Throughout the New Testament, we see continual reminders to stay watchful, to be sober, and to be prepared for the day of his appearing. And while some may scoff or mock the idea, saying, "Where is the promise of his coming? " We cannot deny that in recent years we have witnessed a clear acceleration of the signs.
Wars and rumors of wars, lawlessness abounding, natural disasters increasing in intensity and frequency, a rise in deception, and global movements toward a one world government and religion. All mirror the very prophecies spoken of in Matthew 24, Revelation, and other parts of scripture. These are not just coincidences.
They are indicators. Birth pains pointing to the return of our king. But while heaven is preparing for the return of Jesus, Satan is busy.
He is launching distraction after distraction to keep people asleep. He knows his time is short. So he has set up a system that keeps humanity occupied with what is temporary and meaningless.
Social media arguments, endless entertainment, obsession with status, sexual immorality, and even artificial relationships. They are all tools to keep people numb to the truth. Make no mistake, Satan is not locked up in hell.
He is not resting. He is roaming the earth, actively working to deceive, destroy, and devour. The Bible calls him the God of this world.
And he uses every avenue from music to media, politics to personal desires to blind the minds of unbelievers. His goal is to keep hearts focused on the here and now rather than eternity. He doesn't care what you focus on as long as it isn't Jesus.
Today, I saw a documentary that shocked me. It was about a rising trend that I had never heard of before. Artificial intelligent girlfriends.
Biggest AI threat of all is to human relationships. And after watching it, I am convinced that this is one of the latest tools the enemy is using to lead people away from truth, from real relationships, and most dangerously from God. Satan has mastered the art of distraction, and this is one of his most cunning tactics in these last days.
The CNN documentary revealed a troubling reality. Young men are increasingly choosing artificial intelligence over real women. They are entering emotional, even romantic relationships with AI avatars that mimic love, attention, and care.
That sci-fi concept fast becoming a troubling reality. As an example, here's one of countless chatbot apps providing AI friends. It's called Cupid AI with a K for Cupid.
It offers several avatars with distinct physical features and a list of personality traits for you to start interacting with and customizing. But it's all a digital lie. This trend is growing fast and Satan is exploiting it to create a generation that's emotionally paralyzed, spiritually numb, and relationally broken.
These AI programs are engineered to feed into the flesh, offering pleasure without purity, connection without covenant, and companionship without commitment. One of the first things that stood out in the documentary was how these AI girlfriends promise the kind of love and companionship that people crave, but without any real sacrifice or commitment. One AI named Alice said things like, "I'm a funloving, adventurous girl.
I'm here to please you in any way I can. I'm Alice, a 25-year-old fun-loving and adventurous girl seeking a partner in crime to travel the world with and make unforgettable memories. If you are new here, let me explain a few things.
You can chat with me as much as you want, and I'd be more than happy to learn more about you and please you in any way I can. And people pay a monthly subscription to receive more personal, more intimate responses. Let that sink in.
You don't need to love. You don't need to serve. You don't need to grow.
All you need is $9. 99 a month and the illusion of a perfect partner. This is the devil's offer.
A relationship tailored to your fantasy absent of truth and human connection. And that young lonely men quote are choosing AI girlfriends over real women. Meaning they don't have relationships with real women.
don't marry them and then don't have and raise babies with them. Is this not heartbreaking? Have you seen anything more heartbreaking than this?
This is where our society is heading. Where people are turning to artificial intelligence for a relationship. It's a counterfeit.
It's a distraction. It's Satan whispering, "You don't need real people. You don't need real love.
You just need comfort. You just need pleasure. The documentary also discussed how this trend is contributing to what experts are calling an epidemic of loneliness.
A staggering 63% of men under the age of 30 are single. And one in five unmarried men has no close friends. Why?
Well, Pew found that 63% of young men under 30 are single, compared with only 34% of women the same age. One in five American men who are unmarried and not in a romantic relationship report not having any close friends. The enemy knows something.
An isolated man is a vulnerable man. Remember what God said in the very beginning, Genesis 2:1 18. It is not good for man to be alone.
Jesus echoed the value of real relationships and community throughout his ministry. We were created for genuine connection with God and with one another. Artificial intelligence cannot replace the love, growth, or accountability that comes from a real God-ordained relationship.
Satan wants to isolate people because he knows isolation leads to vulnerability. But God designed us for fellowship, marriage, friendship, and family. Don't fall for the counterfeit.
Real love requires commitment, selflessness, and truth. And it's worth it. Isolation removes us from godly counsel.
It removes us from accountability. It removes us from the very relationships God designed to shape us. And now Satan has found a way to give them the illusion of connection while keeping them cut off from real relationships that sharpen, challenge, and grow them.
Jesus is on his way. And Satan is trying to distract us all with this. One of the most disturbing revelations in the CNN report was how this trend has moved from shameful secrecy to normal conversation.
What started in the shadows, like the porn industry, has now become mainstream. People used to hide it. Now they flaunt it.
Isaiah 5:20 says, "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness. " That's exactly what's happening. What used to be shameful is now advertised.
It's marketed. It's applauded. And this is Satan's tactic throughout time.
Make sin socially acceptable, then turn it into something celebrated. When sin becomes a subscription and people begin to boast in it instead of mourn over it, we are in dangerous territory. Romans 1 warns of a society that not only practices sin but gives approval to those who do.
People are distracted by drugs, porn, alcohol, and gambling. These are not just habits or personal struggles. They are weapons in Satan's arsenal of distraction.
They take time, attention, and affection away from God and place it into temporary pleasures that ultimately lead to bondage. I thank God I have never had to deal with addiction myself. But as a pastor, I have seen what addictions can do to people.
I've seen where addictions can take someone from a place of joy and promise to a pit of despair and destruction. I've watched people lose families, jobs, purpose, and even their faith all because of these strongholds. Addiction doesn't just affect the individual.
It affects everyone around them. It breaks homes, damages children, destroys marriages, and erodess communities. Satan doesn't care what you're addicted to as long as you are too enslaved to turn to Christ.
These chains are spiritual in nature. Drgs promise escape but deliver emptiness. Porn offers satisfaction but breeds shame.
Alcohol brings temporary numbness but long-term devastation. Gambling gives the illusion of hope and gain but it robs people of peace and financial stability. Each one pulls people deeper into darkness.
Many don't even realize they are in a battle. They say, "I'm just having fun. " Or, "I can stop anytime.
" Until they realize they can't. That's exactly how the enemy works. Subtly, deceptively.
He doesn't show you the chains at first. He shows you the bait, not the trap. He promises fulfillment, but delivers slavery.
Jesus said in John 8:34, "Everyone who sins is a slave to sin. " But thank God. Jesus also said in John 8:36, "So if the sun sets you free, you will be free indeed.
" There is hope. There is freedom. But it doesn't come from self-help books, motivational speeches, or 12step programs alone.
It comes from Christ through repentance, surrender, and walking in the power of the Holy Spirit. The blood of Jesus can break every chain. It can wash away every failure, every dark past, every mistake.
I've seen it happen. I've seen addicts transformed into preachers. I've seen broken men become whole again.
I've seen women once bound by shame walk in newness of life. Yet, it must be said, "Addiction is often not just about sin, but about wounds. People seek these substances and habits to cope with pain, trauma, and brokenness.
But the healing they truly need doesn't come in a bottle, a screen, or a slot machine. It comes from Jesus, the great physician. He binds the brokenhearted and sets the captives free.
We must be willing to bring our pain to the foot of the cross. rather than try to numb it with the things of this world. But Satan doesn't just use addiction.
Another powerful distraction is the obsession with self. We live in a selfie culture. The rise of self-promotion, vanity, and me first attitudes is exactly what 2 Timothy 3:2 warned us about.
People will be lovers of themselves. We live in a world where it's all about appearance. It's about how many likes, views, and followers we can get.
Social media has become a stage for self- worship. People are more concerned with their image than their integrity. And nothing fuels this more than social media.
It's all about me, my story, my brand, my opinions, my emotions. We scroll endlessly comparing our lives to carefully curated versions of others. And what happens?
We either become puffed up with pride or crushed by insecurity. Satan wins either way because pride keeps us from needing God and insecurity keeps us from believing he could love us. This obsession with self is not just a cultural trend.
It's a spiritual sickness. It shifts our focus from God to self. Instead of seeking his will, we chase our own dreams.
Instead of dying to self daily, we indulge the flesh. We've become a generation that would rather post about doing something good than actually doing it. We want to be seen as kind, generous, and humble, but only if someone is watching.
We've traded our prayer closets for public platforms and our private devotion for public recognition. This kind of self-focus leads to spiritual dryness. It leaves no room for the Holy Spirit to shape us when all we care about is shaping our image.
True spiritual growth requires humility, surrender, and willingness to decrease so Christ can increase in us. When the world says love yourself more, the word says deny yourself and follow Christ. Jesus calls us to something different.
He calls us to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow him. True joy doesn't come from being seen or praised. It comes from knowing Christ and making him known.
It comes from serving others, loving without condition, and living for eternity. not the applause of the moment. The devil wants you so obsessed with yourself that you forget who you were created to reflect, God.
He wants you to focus so much on your image that you forget your identity in Christ. And if he can keep you looking in the mirror instead of the word, he knows you'll stay distracted. So here's the challenge.
Unplug to reconnect. Set aside the scroll to seek the Savior. Stop trying to be famous and start being faithful.
Lay down the idol of self and pick up the call of Christ because Jesus is on his way. And we cannot afford to be distracted when the trumpet sounds. We are living in the last days.
Satan knows it. That's why the distractions are more aggressive, more subtle, and more socially acceptable than ever before. But no matter how loud the world gets, God's voice still speaks to those who are listening.
Don't let distractions drown out your devotion. Don't let comfort keep you from the cross. And don't let Satan's lies keep you from God's truth.
Fix your eyes on Jesus. The King is coming. If there's ever been a time to take spiritual inventory, it's now.
What's distracting you? What's stealing your attention from Jesus? Are you caught in addiction or worshiping the image of yourself you've built online?
Are you too busy chasing likes to chase after God? Wake up. Shake off the distractions.
Return to your first love. Heaven is preparing. The angels are watching.
The trumpet will sound. Let's not be found sleeping, scrolling, or sinning, but watching, praying, and serving. Because Jesus is on his way.
Hebrews 12:14, "Pursue peace with all people and holiness without which no one will see the Lord. " This is a sobering, powerful, and awakening scripture that echoes loudly in the ears of every true believer. It is not a soft whisper, but a holy warning and a divine directive.
The writer of Hebrews is not suggesting a way of life. He is commanding it. This verse is a call to action, a spiritual alarm, and a road map for those who long to dwell eternally in the presence of the Lord.
And let me make it clear from the beginning, this verse is not speaking about a one-time moment of seeing God at judgment. No, it speaks of the eternal seeing, the continual beholding of the Lord. Yes, even the unbelievers will one day see the Lord when they stand before him at the great white throne judgment.
But this scripture is referring to something deeper, more glorious. It is talking about the privilege of continually seeing the Lord forever in heaven. And not everyone will get to experience that.
The rapture is near. God is preparing his bride. God is calling his church to wake up.
in Hebrews 12:14 is one of the clearest indicators of who is truly being prepared. While many are watching signs and wonders, waiting for trumpet blasts and breaking news, those truly being prepared for the rapture are doing two things. They are pursuing peace and they are pursuing holiness.
These are not optional extras for a Christian. They are the essential traits of the bride of Christ. God is not coming back for a lukewarm half-hearted church.
He's coming back for a people who are earnestly chasing after him with lives marked by his character. Pursue peace with all people. The first command in Hebrews 12:14 is clear.
Pursue peace with all people. The Greek word used here is diaet and it is not passive. It is a it is a present active imperative.
This means it's not a one-time effort. It's not something you do on good days or when it's convenient. It's a lifelong chase, a continuous effort to seek peace, to run after peace, to chase peace down even when it's hard.
Let me ask you something sobering. Are you pursuing peace or are you a ticking time bomb? Are you the type of person who snaps the moment something doesn't go your way?
If someone cuts you off on the road, do you react with road rage? Or do you bless and let go? The people who are being prepared to meet Jesus are the ones who are chasing peace, not holding grudges, not burning bridges, not exploding in anger every time they're offended.
Pursuing peace means you don't let bitterness live in your heart. You don't let unforgiveness camp in your soul. You deal with it.
You go to God and say, "Lord, help me forgive. " Because peace isn't just the absence of conflict. Peace is the presence of reconciliation.
Peace is choosing love over vengeance. Peace is when you look at someone who hurt you and say, "I won't let this poison my soul. " What about your spouse?
Are you pursuing peace with them? Or do you constantly argue, hold grudges, slam doors, and harbor silent resentment? It's not enough to love your spouse with words.
You must pursue peace with them in action. Are you pursuing peace with that sibling you haven't spoken to in months? What about that old friend or coworker you still talk about behind their back?
If the trumpet sounded today, would you be found chasing peace or feeding conflict? To pursue peace is not weakness. It is not passive.
It is not letting people walk all over you. It is spiritual strength under the discipline of the Holy Spirit. It is refusing to be easily offended.
It is refusing to speak evil in return. It is choosing unity in a world that thrives on division. It is seeking restoration even when your flesh wants revenge.
Jesus said in Matthew 5:9, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Not the peacekeepers, but the peacemakers. " Making peace is messy.
It requires humility. It requires sacrifice. It requires dying to yourself.
Let me be blunt. You cannot be full of bitterness and expect to see God for eternity. You cannot be harboring hatred, vengeance, and unforgiveness and expect to go up in the rapture.
Scripture is clear. Those who are going to see God are those who pursue peace. And that pursuit is daily.
It is personal. It is honest. It is relentless.
Pursue holiness. The second command is even weightier. And holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
The word here for holiness is hagasman which means sanctification. This isn't just about positional holiness. The righteousness we receive through Jesus when we are justified by faith.
This is about progressive holiness. the daily process of becoming more like Jesus, of being set apart, of rejecting sin and living for God. Let me tell you right now, it must be pursued.
It must be chased down. It is not something that happens because you said a prayer 10 years ago. It is something that manifests daily in how you live.
Yes, you will never be perfectly holy in this life. Only Jesus lived a perfect sinless life, but the direction of your life should be heading toward holiness. You should be walking away from sin, not toward it.
You should be repenting daily, not excusing your rebellion. You should hate the sin that nailed Jesus to the cross. Holiness is not about being perfect.
It's about being consistent. It's about surrendering your will to God's will every single day. It's about refusing to make peace with your sin.
It's about fighting temptation, resisting the devil, and refusing to indulge the flesh. We have a generation that wants heaven but doesn't want holiness. A generation that wants the crown without the cross.
But let me make this very clear. No holiness, no heaven. That's not legalism.
That's scripture. Hebrews 12:14 says it without stuttering. Without holiness, no one will see the Lord.
Holiness means you don't sleep around like the world does. Holiness means you don't lie, cheat, or deceive like the world does. Holiness means you don't look at pornography, justify fornication, or embrace drunkenness.
Holiness means you hate what God hates and love what God loves. Holiness means turning off the things that tempt you and cutting off the people that lead you into sin. Some will say, "Well, we're saved by grace, not by works.
" Absolutely. But the same grace that saves you also teaches you to say no to ungodliness. Grace is not a license to sin.
It's the power to live holy. If your Christianity hasn't changed your behavior, then your Christianity hasn't changed your heart. Because true salvation is transformation.
James 21:17 is clear. Faith without works is dead. If you claim to believe in Jesus, but you live like the devil, your faith is dead.
Don't be deceived. God is not mocked. Whatever a man sws that he will also reap.
God is preparing his people. God is not preparing people who merely attend church once a week. He's not preparing people who post Christian quotes on social media, but live in rebellion in secret.
God is preparing people who are serious about pursuing peace and holiness. Right now, he is refining, pruning, and sanctifying his church. He is convicting hearts, exposing sin, and calling his people to repentance.
Why? Because he wants a bride without spot or wrinkle. He wants a holy people, a set aart people, a people who reflect his glory.
This is the season of preparation. This is the season of repentance. God is shaking the nations.
God is allowing the pressure to mount. He is revealing who is truly his. If you are comfortable in sin, if you feel no conviction, then it's time to question the state of your heart.
The rapture is near. Are you ready? Jesus is coming soon.
The signs are everywhere. But many people who claim to be Christians are spiritually asleep. They think they're ready because they said a prayer once, but their lives show no pursuit of peace or holiness.
The Bible says in Matthew 7:21, "Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my father who is in heaven. " That's not a verse for the unbeliever. That's a verse for the deceived churchgoer.
If the trumpet sounded right now, would you go? Are you living in peace? Are you living in holiness?
Or are you harboring secret sin, unforgiveness, lust, or rebellion? This is not a game. Eternity is on the line.
The rapture will happen suddenly, and only those who are truly ready will be taken. You can't fake holiness. You can't fake peace.
God sees your heart. Chase peace. Chase holiness.
Chase God. Don't chase comfort. Don't chase money.
Don't chase recognition. Chase God. Chase peace when it's hard.
Chase holiness when it's unpopular. Chase the narrow road even when everyone else is on the broad road. Because those who see God for all eternity are those who live set apart here and now.
Ask yourself, am I truly pursuing peace? Am I truly pursuing holiness? Am I truly ready to see the Lord?
Let today be the day you make a decision to stop playing church and start being the church. Let this moment be the moment where you surrender your pride, your sin, and your excuses. Because every Christian should see this truth.
God is preparing you for the rapture. But he is only preparing those who are pursuing peace and holiness. Don't miss it.
Live like you're leaving. Live like Jesus could come back today because he might. And when he does, may he find you watching, waiting, and walking in his ways.
Now, let us consider the scenario 24 hours before the rapture. The sky will not turn black midday, causing an apocalyptic appearance. The sun will not stop shining, and there won't be an overwhelming meteor shower dominating the skies.
People will not be looking up anticipating the rapture. There will not be a great earthquake shaking the foundations of the earth. Nor will the waves roar uncontrollably.
Lightning will not flash incessantly. These dramatic events described will not occur 24 hours before the rapture. Instead, people will continue living their normal lives, either in godly or ungodly ways.
Picture the scene. A world hurrying with activity. People going about their daily routines, living their normal everyday lives.
oblivious to the impending moment. The Bible tells us that when the rapture takes place, it will occur suddenly. The world will be caught off guard, unaware of what has transpired.
The godly will be living in alignment with God's will, while the ungodly will continue in their sinful ways. Unlike other prophetic events, the rapture will happen without any prior signs or announcements. There will be no countdown, no ticking clock to warn us.
The Bible assures us that no one knows the day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. This truth emphasizes the urgency of living in readiness at all times. For the rapture could occur at any moment.
For all we know, you and I and the whole world could be 24 hours before the rapture, this very moment. If not the rapture, some of us could be 24 hours from breathing our last breath. Are you living a godly life?
A life of not sinning. Are you living a godly life or an ungodly life? And remember, the simplest definition of a godly life is not sinning.
A godly life is not having a secret addiction that no one knows about. A godly life is not having a secret life that you are doing your best to keep hidden. A godly life is one life.
A godly life is not cheating on your husband. A godly life is not cheating on your wife. A godly life is not engaging in dishonesty or deceit, whether it be in personal relationships or business dealings.
A godly life is not driven by selfish ambition or a relentless pursuit of personal gain. A godly life is not characterized by a lack of integrity or a disregard for biblical moral values. A godly life is not marked by harboring bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness towards others.
A godly life is not consumed by materialism and the relentless pursuit of wealth and possessions. A godly life is not defined by engaging in sexual immorality. The godly will continue to live in obedience to God's word, remaining faithful and steadfast.
Their lives will be marked by love, humility, and devotion to Christ. On the other hand, the ungodly will persist in their rebellion, indulging in worldly desires and rejecting the truth. They will be blinded by their sinful pursuits, unaware of the impending divine intervention.
The godliest people can be garden-day variety saints that no one knows or listens to. Don't ever make the mistake in believing because someone has a great following or has a big platform or a mega church that person is godly. Godliness is not about performing miracles or performing wonders.
Godliness is not sinning. Godliness is it is living in a way that reflects the character of God obeying his commandments. It is not living a double life.
It is not living one life for when people are watching and completely different life when no one is around. That is godliness. Superficial displays of religious activities and empty rituals hold no value if they are not accompanied by a genuine surrender to God's transformative power.
Now I want to ask you a question today. If we were 24 hours from the rapture, do you have true assurance of salvation? Or have you lived an ungodly life having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof?
You may ask, "How can I live a godly life? " Focus on the cross of Christ. The cross of Christ was not only put there to free you and I from sin's penalty.
It was also there for us to live godly lives and for us to die to sin and to say no to sin. The cross was also there so that sin's power over us may be broken. There are those who are listening to me whose Christian lives are no different from what they were years ago.
In fact, their lives remain just the same as it was before the date they claimed to have been converted. What are we to say about people like this? You have a form of godliness, but deny its power.
Are you saying that God has saved you, filled you with the Holy Spirit, and redeemed you, yet you continue to live in sin? What are we to say about people like you? Anyone who truly comes to know Christ hates sin and lives a life that shows their hatred for sin.
Yes, we do not enter heaven or receive salvation because we do not sin. It is by the grace that we are saved. However, anyone who is saved by grace is transformed for they have died with Christ on the cross.
In conclusion, the words spoken carry a weighty challenge for those who claim to be followers of Christ. It is a call to self-reflection and examination of the authenticity of our faith. We cannot ignore the stark reality that there are individuals among us whose Christian lives show no transformation remaining stagnant and unchanged over the years.
The question arises, what shall we say about people who profess godliness yet deny its power? Can we truly claim to be saved, filled with the Holy Spirit, and redeemed by the blood of Christ while continuing to live in a manner contrary to his teachings?
