Hello, hello, hello! We are starting the fifth week of this incredible quarter that we are studying about the book of John. The Gospel of John, one of the most beautiful gospels and I have learned a lot, I have learned many lessons and lessons for my life.
I'm here again with my BC Jovem shirt, do you know why? Because the last time I recorded with that t-shirt I didn't explain why I was wearing that t-shirt. Now I have to explain why people said it like this: Pastor BC even said it like this: is it “Bora com Cristo”?
And people started wanting to know what BC is. I didn't explain. It's Balneário Camboriú, young people.
The guys at the city center of Balneário Camboriú , when I went there, they gave me this t-shirt and said: Pastor, you have to record with us. And I recorded it, they were happy, but I didn't explain it. Now I'm explaining and these next few days I'm here again with my nice t-shirt.
Okay, let's go. This week we are going to study about: Entering into conflict In the first chapters of the book of John, we have Jesus at a party, meeting Nicodemus and that very calm thing. But from now on things start to get a little more tense.
Why? Because people see that He is doing the miracle and everyone is happy. But now he also starts to say: Look, I'm performing miracles in your life, but now I'm forgiving your sins.
Hey guys, calm down! No, forgiving sin is only God who can do that. So I already had an aggravating factor.
Suddenly He turns around and says: I and the Father or I and God are one. When He began to say this, then the Jewish leaders began to persecute Jesus. And from now on we have a series of encounters and disagreements with a lot of confusion and persecution of Jesus.
So, this week we have another aggravating factor besides ok, the miracle is here, your sins are forgiven here, the Father and I are one. Now He performs the miracle on Saturday and this, for the Jew, was a very serious problem. In fact, we're going to study this idea a little bit this week, about why healing on Saturday was a problem for them.
What I want to tell you is the following, we are starting our week now and we are going to study John, chapter 5 and chapter 6. I was very sad, but I understood the author that there are a lot of pieces from chapter 5 and 6 that he was unable to explore in this week's lesson. So you need to read it so you understand the whole context and learn other lessons besides those you have in the Sabbath School lesson.
And throughout the week I will say some things. Some themes that are not necessarily the themes of the week, but are themes from chapters 5 and 6 that I think are important, Because in the end, what we are doing here is studying the word and the more knowledge we have about a portion of the word, the more we will understand. Did you understand?
Do you understand? So that's it. Tomorrow we continue.
