We've got a very interesting program uh what can we learn from the psalmist about the important link between our prayers and our ability to endure well we'll talk about that and see what the psalmist uh had to say a divided heart what does that mean I'd even create a mental picture of what that might look like but we'll have it explained tonight so we can understand um and then In our um part of the meeting apply yourself to the field Ministry we're going to be looking at some things from our love people publication and these
will be some useful aspects of kindness perseverance and commitment we'll see those things demonstrated in those three parts tonight you know we're working on starting Bible studies we've got a campaign going on uh this month so uh anything that can help us any qualities We can put into play that will assist us in making an appeal to people to start a Bible study it will be very useful and then we got two video discussions one don't give up and uh that's really a fine theme for where we are in the Stream of time uh we
can get a little bit um perhaps feeling that we can't deal with the apathy but it'll help us to not give up and show good reason and that's followed by keep offering Bible studies And we'll see some interesting things in there that will help us to develop the quality of patience so that we can we can do that and uh really find Joy while we wait and uh be blessed by Jehovah in that respect and then our congregation Bible study about young Timothy which is a very interesting discussion so so without further Ado let's invite
our um brother Randy higer to the platform to handle Treasures from God's word well as we look at the picture Image of uh King David there uh two things feature prominently one thing is we see a king agonizing he is experiencing a lot of distress and it's almost like he seems to be overwhelmed by anxiety but there's another thing that we can see out uh too we can see that this king is praying and this prayer is something that can provide him solid something that can give him comfort and it's certainly a way of Gaining
inner peace and so today we can learn from our discussion that in these stressful and very uh troubling times we cannot endure um this the life as we go along without uh prayer and this is what we can see here in the case of David because Jehovah is our stamina he's our means of endurance and so the question we can ask is how does prayer help us to endure and there are two important things that we can talk about today Related to the fruitage of God's spirit that helped David to endure the first thing is
Joy so let's look at Psalm 86:4 and we'll see how Joy can help us to endure notice here the example of uh King David who in prayer asked Jehovah to give him joy and in verse four of Psalm 86 it says make your servant Rejoice for to you oh Jehovah I turn so you notice David prayed make your servant Rejoice he was asking Jehovah to Give him joy and so here we can learn from this Psalm and this prayer of David that Jehovah invites us to pray to him for Joy you might need to pray
to him for Joy now if you had a really difficult day uh behind you and it's just staying with you so the joy is a quality of the fruitage of God's spirit and remember Jesus said that his father in heaven will give Holy Spirit to the one asking him and joy is a uh Pro uh is part of the fruitage of God's spirit so We can and should ask Jehovah for joy and joy can come by means of the help of God's holy spirit isn't it interesting normally we wouldn't ask a human to give us
joy because when we looked at that picture of King David humans often have a feeling that he experienced one of distress but um on the other hand Jehovah is full of joy he's the source of Joy so he can give us a little bit of the Joy from his source and uh and His holy spirit so we appreciate then that Like David King David we should pray for joy and why is it so important to pray for Joy because Joy can help us to endure now David's prayer helps us to understand something else too something
um that can add to our joy and this is a matter of faith faith is also part of god um a product of God's holy spirit so let's look at Psalm 86: 11 and 12 now and you'll notice how David in these words these scriptural terms prayed for Faith and verses 11 and 12 excuse me say Instruct me oh Jehovah about your way I will walk in your truth unify my heart to feel your name I praise you oh Jehovah my God with all my heart and I will glorify your name forever so what we
can appreciate here is David is saying in prayer oh Jehovah uh instruct me about your way what what way is this well this is the way of faithfulness and um to add to uh this point about faithfulness we can appreciate how truth is involved in fact Zavid prayed I will walk in your truth so he was helping us to appreciate that there's a need to keep living according to scriptural truth and we can walk or live by scriptural truth in such a way that it will bring God's approval and blessing upon us so that we
can endure but all of this requires as faithfulness which is what David is helping us to appreciate in these two verses and why did David pray so that he um he could uh walk in the way of Truth Well it was because uh walking in the way of Truth is it requires faithfulness on our part and it would requir faithfulness in his part too and so David appreciated that if he could walk in the way of Truth which is to be faithful in his life eventually he would be able to as it shows there uh
glorify God's name forever so David wanted to endure to serve God forever so what can we learn here we can learn that if we want to endure in God's Service we too need to pray for God's help in order to remain faithful and if we uh ask God for help he will give us joy and he will not only give us joy but he will help us to remain faithful so why can we remain uh be so confident that Jehovah will answer our prayers to help us to give us joy to remain faithful well the
Assurance um that we have from reading this prayer in Psalm 86 uh can help us to see why that's the case so let's look at verses 6 and 7 of Psalm 86 so here we have an assurance through David's prayer and verse six says listen oh Jehovah to my prayer and pay attention to my pleas for help I call on you in the day of my distress for you will answer me so here David said in prayer I call on you in the day of my distress as you see in verse seven so what can
we appreciate when we distressed and if You're distressed now um this is a good time to call on Jehovah in order uh to receive help in prayer and David said in verse six pay attention to my please for help so it's uh it's it's natural for us to ask Jehovah for help if we feel distress at any time that we feel that way we saw uh D the picture image of David in in distress and we can see that when we feel that that turmoil uh we need to pray to Jehovah but David was sure
that Jehovah would answer his Prayers based on his past experiences and that's why uh he said in verse 7 uh you will answer me he had that confidence and Reliance on Jehovah now what was David's confidence based on well David's confidence was based based on his reflection of past of his past experiences in praying to Jehovah and receiving help and so if we do the same if we reflect on our past experiences having served Jehovah up until this time we'll realize that Jehovah has been Really helping us um and answering our prayers for help so
we want to be like David uh we want to trust that Jehovah will answer our prayer and we can do that by imitating him and being reflective of Jehovah's help but one thing that we like to be mindful of is that to remember that Jehovah won't always answer our prayers the way we might expect him to or the way we might want him to but however um we do know that Jehovah will provide just what we Need just exactly at the right time so when we feel anxiety as we saw uh in the image of
David uh and when we're deeply troubled by something may we increase the length and not only the length of our prayers but the frequency of our prayers so that we can endure in our service to Jehovah like David did thanks very much brother heager we really enjoyed the way you brought those points out from Psalms we're now going to look at our spiritual gems and this Week our Bible reading is uh from Psalm 85- 87 so we'll invite brother Andrew Wilson to help us with this would someone like to read uh psalm 86:1 for us
thanks uh brother Linn Lyn l n instruct instruct me oh Jehovah about your way I will walk in your truth unify My Heart To Fear your name thanks very much nicely read so we got a question based on that scripture what does David's prayer suggest about a person's Heart thanks brother Aras the inside book uh really highlighted that the heart can be divided what he was asking is not to become half-hearted uh or luk warmly worshiping God he wanted to make sure that the way he worshiped God was in a truthful way uh when we
think about a double uh double hearted a person could actually uh be trying to serve two masters and that is something we would want to avoid and that's what King David Was asking for him not to be able to do very good thanks very much for explaining that for us that leads us uh to our next question what spiritual gems from this week Bible reading would you like to share thanks uh sister Gabby Psalms 865 reads for you oh Jehovah are good and ready to forgive you abound in loyal love for all those who call
on you Jehovah does not forget that we are creatures of dust having Weaknesses as a result of imperfection he knows how we are formed and he is likened to a Potter and us to the clay vessels he forms Jehovah being the great Potter he adjusts his dealings with us according to the condition of our sinful nature and how we respond to his counsel this scripture highlights how Jehovah hates sin but does not hate The Sinner if they are truly repentant that draws us even closer to our merciful god Jehovah thanks very much sister Gabby For
that beautiful comment we certainly do have a loving God don't we thanks uh brother Papa I learned in chapter 20 85: 2 that Jehovah is ready to Pardon our errors when we are truly sorry for the sins we are committed this this allows us to have a clean conscience and enjoy Jehovah's favor I want to imitate him by being by being ready to forgive and forget when others have offended me that's very Good idea thanks uh sister Vina in Psalms 8510 it says loyal love and faithfulness will meet together righteousness and peace will kiss each
other so in here the figurative use kissing as a representing a demonstration of respect and devotion is mentioned in the advice to serve Jehovah with fear and kiss the son that he may not become in in sensed and you may not Perish from way so when persons respond favorably and submit to the one that Jesus Christ the one that Jehovah has appointed as king H they can say righteousness and peace have kissed each other because the connection of the two will be as evident to uh all as in the close Association of affectionate friends terrific
thanks very much sister bino and um on Zoom uh we've got uh Brother Juan Gonzalez verse one says incline your ear o Jehovah and answer me for I am Afflicted and poor we notice that David wrot this Psalm when he was afflicted but he was confident that Jehovah the God of All Comfort will turn his ear to the Earth and hear his humble prayer since David was sure that he had an intimate relationship with Jehovah and that then and that is why he will be listening to and today we Face similar trials and Test as
we live in the last days of Satan Satan's system so if we completely trust in Jehovah like David did and throw or bden on Jehovah he will be willing to help us thanks very much uh Brother Juan for that encouraging comment uh thank you sister Cox in Psalms 86:17 some Scholars render David's words as in the past tense saying Jehovah has helped me and has comforted me so David remembered the Moments in his life where God was with him and he could call back to M those moments confident in Jehovah's loyalty so for us when
difficulties arise in our lives we can meditate on the times where we saw Jehovah's hand personally guiding us and the good results that came from trust in him and a nice suggestion was to write down these experiences that we've had and particularly how Reliant on Jehovah led to good results and these can then be remembered as we Face trials Now and in the future very good thanks uh sister Lim psalmist in chapter 85 ask Jehovah to restore and revive them again so they can rejoice in him uh Jehovah is a god of restoration so every
time we feel broken um if we turn to Jehovah and rely on him to put the pieces back together he can restore us to a place is better than before so as a psalmist in verse 6 says we can look to Jehovah to revive us and find our joy in him Again very nice some nice uh comments with regards to our relationship with Jehovah uh thanks brother Nicholson also in 86 verse1 17 it starts with show me a sign of your goodness so a sign of Jehovah's goodness is his holy spirit in our lives and
so that isn't necessarily mean that we don't have problems in fact we we will still have problems and trials and persecution all of these things will still occur but we will deal with those things as a Christian would and that will then be evident as was brought out um by Sister Jaz by those around us will witness that we have that Holy Spirit in our lives and it'll be a good witness very nice thanks very much brothers and sisters for your uh wonderful comments very encouraging and upbuilding and we'd like to hand back now to
brother kupi thanks very much brother Wilson for helping us with those gems and thanks Too for all those uh very fine gems that you brought out this evening I'm sure we've all benefited from those comments well this brings us to our Bible reading and this is going to be handled by Brother Simeon Wang and uh it's the reading is Psalm 861 to 87:7 thanks brother Simeon incline your ear oh Jehovah and answer me for I am Afflicted and poor God my life for I am lawyer save your servant who is trusting in you for you
are my God show me favor oh Jehovah for I call to you all day long make your servant Rejoice for to you oh Jehovah I intend for you oh Jehovah are good and ready to forgive you Bound in loyal love for all those who call on you listen oh Jehovah to my prayer and pay attention to my pleas for help I call on you in the day of my distress for you will answer me there is none like you among the gods oh Jehovah there are no works like Yours all the nations that you M
will come and bow down before you oh Jehovah and they will give glory to your name for you are great and do wondrous things you are God you alone instruct me oh Jehovah about your way I will walk in your truth unify My Heart To Fear your name I praise you oh Jehovah my God with all my heart and I will glorify your name forever for you for your loyal love toward me is great and you have saved my life from The depths of the Grave oh God prous men rise up against me a band
of Ruthless men seek to take my life and they have no regard for you but you oh Jehovah are a god merciful and compassionate slow to anger and abandon in loyal life and faithfulness turn to me and show me favor give your strength to your servant and save the son of your slave girl show me the sign of your goodness so that those who hate me May seated and be put to shame for you oh Jehovah are my her And go forter his City's Foundation is in the Holy mountains Jehovah loves the gates of Zion
more than all the temps of Jacob glorious things are being said about you whole city of the true God I will count rehab and Babylon among those who know me here bisa and Tyra together with Kush it will be said this is one who was born there and about Zion it will be said each and everyone was born in her and the the most high will firmly establish Her Jehovah will declare when recording the beers this is when who was born there singers and those performing psych dances will say all my spring are in you
thanks so much uh brother Simeon I have nothing but admiration for your ability to have such a command of the English language uh in such a short time and I can only imagine how much work you put in to be so fluent and uh have your pronunciation so beautiful tonight so we Thank you so much for that effort you were working on study 12 warmth and empathy and it probably doesn't easily fit a Bible reading but a couple of things in there that might uh be helpful uh show your interest with a kind tone of
your voice and you certainly did that you you read with the the right kind of tone appropriate to the subject and it was very fitting subject really when you're talking about warm and empathy these were very heartfelt feelings of The psalmist and you conveyed them very well so we look forward to your next assignment well that brings us to the next part of our program which is apply yourself to the field Ministry our Talk number four starting a conversation and handling that for us we've got uh brother Damen Gallow uh assisted by Jesse Gallow so
let's tune in and it's an informal witnessing setting hey could you hold the elevator door please Oh sure thanks there aren't that many people that would hold the door for others anymore yeah no problem what are you doing around here anyway oh I'm just doing some maintenance for the building what about yourself no I just work in the mail room all right hey you wouldn't happen to know where the building manager's office is by any chance yeah if you go down to basement one and then go down this hallway it should be the third door
on your left oh thanks aop Not too many people are as helpful as you these days yeah I try to be as helpful as I can due to the way I was taught what do you mean well on one of Joe's Witnesses one of the points we learn is to treat others as you would want to be treated ah right see I've always heard that qu but what does that have to do with your religion I thought it was just something from from some old philosopher well it actually comes from the Bible if you like
I could show it to You yeah okay uh it's here in Luke 6:31 it says also just as he want men to do to you do the same way to them ah right so it is in there I never thought that the Bible could have something that's relevant today yeah it can in fact I get a lot of advice from the Bible That's that even helps me today really you still get advice from that Old book yeah the Bible has show me many great ways to be kind respectful and Helpful uh if you'd like I
could show you a few scriptures that have helped me if you got some uh few minutes to spare oh thanks but I'm a bit busy with some other jobs I've got uh that's right if you want I can give you my uh number on this contact card and we can book a time we're both free so we can continue this conversation uh yeah maybe well this is my floor though I'll give it some thought and I'll give you a call yeah that's right if you can't you can always Go to that website on the back
of the card jw.org and then you can find a video on on why starting the can be beneficial for us yeah okay I'll have a look at it a bit later anyway I've got to go have a nice day you too uh thanks very much brother Jesse and brother Damian we really enjoyed that little presentation and really it was right on the mark your lesson 3.5 was all about being helpful and we see the benefit of being helpful because It then can open up a way to have a further conversation about uh something to do
uh with the Bible and God's kingdom and so forth and you handle that very nicely so thanks for that and we look forward to your next assignment our next uh student is Sister sojin um Sujin bronos and she's assisted by Sister bethia Kim and this is talk five follow up in formal witnessing is the setting once again oh hi Come on in oh hi suan my mom made this cookies for you for helping us with the move she really appreciated it a that's so sweet of her thank you they look delicious do you want to
see for a bit oh sure if you don't mind not at all so how are you guys settling in well we're almost done unpacking finally and we had a chance to walk around the neighborhood and get to have a feel for it and find what would be the safest way to school oh that's a smart especially since Safety was a big reason for the move right yeah it's been after the school stabing my parents made my safety their top priority and started looking for houses in this area thankfully one came through quite quickly and I
think they're feeling a bit of ease now oh that's good to hear Let me know if you guys need anything okay thank you and how are you feeling about starting at a new school nervous M yeah uh I'm actually pretty nervous I have to make New friends and get news to the new environment and it feels like there's more pressure now to do well especially since my parents made so many sacrifices to move here oh yeah I can imagine how hard and stressful there must be you know um I went through something similar when I
was younger and there was one thing that really helped me manage my stress oh what was it the Bible oh the Bible I remember you show me the Bible about the better future but I didn't Know it would have some practical advice for today well it does and it it actually helped me understand that when things are tough there are there are ways to find the strength and peace can I show you one scripture that might comfort you sure so it's U Matthew 6:34 never be anxious about the next day for the next day we'll
have a own anxieties it basically says not to not to add tomorrow's worries to today's what do You think yeah that makes sense I guess I do overthink sometimes and I end up stressing my S even more yeah I know what you mean so whenever I start stressing I try to remind myself of that first and I have something else that might help you with school stress um um let me show you quickly so if you type stress as school on our website jw.org you will find this article how can I cope with stress at
school it's a full of advice from the Bible and other Teens experiences um yeah that sounds good well I'll check it out yeah I hope I hope you find the helpful and there's a lot more information like this for teens and young ones on the website also if you're interested in learning more about the Bible and how it can benefit you I have a great book called to enjoy life forever it's right here on the website as well and it's designed to help you understand the Bible better so we can go Over it together if
you want M that sounds good but I think I have to think about it yeah no pressure just talk to your parents and see what they think too okay I'll let you know sure and by the way I'm baking some cakes this weekend so I sto by with some slices and bring back this container how about Saturday or around the two are you free yeah that would be great very nicely done sisters um sister serin that was um very natural and uh Very easy uh flow which was what have put the householder at ease and
it just shows us how even um in that setting using the website can stir interest even more so it helps us to be conscious of that so well done in that area you were looking at this follow-up Point here uh make an appointment and it talked about making a specific time and day which you you did so that was very well done and just a side point I think somebody's eating your prop was Empty anyway well done and thanks sister Kim as well okay our next um Talk making disciples this is part six uh our
student is Sister Virginia vinao and she's assisted by Sister Timmy mallik well um I mean very good so what is that we already learned in point four uh well that Jesus is not the almighty God but he's the son of God very good so now we need to learn in point five how is that Jesus proved to be the Messiah and H we need to see how the Bible contains many prophecies that could help us to identify the messiah messiah was this God's chosen one to save humankind and let's see some of the the prophecies
that the Bible was pointing to Jesus please let's see the video do you see that there do you want to watch it yeah so is any of the prophecies that call your attention in the video uh well I didn't know that all those details were prophesied in the Bible to identify Jesus like for example that he was going to be born from a virgin or that he was going to be betrayed by 30 pieces of silver H right and you know it's many more prophecies that this is fulfilled but in here we have three prophecies
that we need to we can read and see how much Jesus fulfilled that for example we have here Micah 52 do you want to read it Please yeah it says and you oh Bethlehem EPA the one two little to be among the thousands of Judah for you will come out for me to one to be ruler in Israel whose origin is from ancient times from the days of long ago very good so where is that the Messiah should be born uh it says in Bethlehem very good but if you see specifically Jesus had to be
born in Bethlehem ephra that is in the territory of Judah where David was born in a small town H But it's interesting there is another Bethlehem in the territory of seum so the prophecy was very specific um now let's see if that specific prophecy was accomplished by Jesus in Matthew 21 do you want to read it please yeah it says after Jesus had been born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king look astrologers from the East came to Jerusalem so did Jesus fulfill the prophecy with his birth yeah it did Exactly
and it was very precise and ex um precise so let's see another two prophecies that go together do you want to read psalms 34:20 please yeah it says he is guarding all his bones not one of them has been broken very good so we can see that none of jesus' Bones should be broken against of what the Romans used to do very specific again so in Zachariah 1210 which is quoted here too I'm going to read this specific part who says I will Pour out on the House of David and they will look to the
one whom they pierce so the Messiah will be Pier now if we go to the Bible and see if Jesus accomplished that or fulfill that when we go to John check in John 19 um 33 and after 36 and 37 do you want to read it please yeah it says but on coming to Jesus they saw that he was already dead so they did not break his legs in fact these things took place for The scripture to be fulfilled not a bone of his will be broken and again a different scripture says they will look
to the one whom they pierced so did Jesus fulfill those prophecies yeah they didn't break his bones but they pierced him exactly do you think Jesus could have influenced any of these prophecies well no because he couldn't control the way he was killed exactly no the way that was killed whether he was born what Tribe was going to come his mother was going to be a virgin it's too many details that we prophesize they should be specific so the question is what do you think that this prove about Jesus uh well that he was the
Messiah God's chosen to save humankind exactly if you want to know more about prophecies you have the explore area and you're going to have an article that talks about many prophecy is okay I'll try and have a read of it beautiful so it's something That um I wanted to arrange with you next Monday I won't be able to come here because I I won't be here but do you think we could meet instead of Monday Friday evening as we do normally on Monday yeah I can do Friday evening beautiful so we can study on Friday
okay thanks very much sister Virginia and sister Tammy very nicely done study was handled nicely and the point we're looking at tonight uh is lesson 10.4 which was study regularly and it Was nice at the end of the study you made arrangements to just alter the schedule for the following weeks so that Tammy wouldn't miss out so it's a real good reminder to us that we shouldn't treat the the study hit and miss but really if we can't or they can't for some reason what other Arrangement can we put in place so that the person
doesn't miss out that regularity of the study is very vital so well done on that thanks sister Virginia well that brings us to the living as Christians part of our meeting okay well we'd like to in invite brother Philip mlan to the platform now to handle the part don't give up thanks brother mclan well friends we have a video to look at tonight it's a Caleb and Safir video but don't think this is just for children this one because there's a lot of good information we can take take from this as grown-ups as well so
let's Watch our video and then we have a few questions to ask hi I'm Sophia I have a great video about God's promise for the earth oh sweetheart thank you I'm not interested and you can read the Bible and watch videos really busy kid can we take a break yeah a break already a break might be nice but before we go do you remember when Jesus preached did everybody listen to him No so why didn't Jesus give up because he wanted everyone to hear the good news that's right so how about we each try another
house oh hi Chuck so maybe that was your weekend for witnessing let's ask the qu the questions that we have and let's see what points that we can take from the video so whether young or old I invite you for your comment so we'll ask the First question it says why may we at times feel like giving up in the ministry our thanks we'll have desay we may at times feel like giving up in the ministry because everyone at the doors say they are not interested or too busy and it makes us feel like nobody
wants to listen to us good so that's a maybe what happened this weekend thanks uh sister Rowena And also sometimes the householders show that how kind they are they seems like that they will listen but all of a sudden really they are not interested yeah and thanks brother Nicholson and being imperfect we tend to extrapolate that we've had this experience we're going to have it again and again and again and again yeah and what was your comment comment Isaac we might want to give up because Noah is listening to us yeah that's right isn't It
all right well let's ask the next next question why should we not give up and we'll have another one of our young ones thanks Andrew just like Jesus we want to preach to everyone yeah that's right isn't it and thanks we'll have Desiree again thanks it's good to see our young ones commenting taking so much from our videos we we should not give up because even Jesus did not have any everyone listen to him but the reason reason Jesus did not give up was because he wanted everyone to hear the good news and so do
we and if we do not give up we might find somebody who wants to listen that's right nice comment thanks for that and what's the encouragement a a video was based on Galatians 6:9 what's the encouragement we can find in Galatians 6:9 we think about our ministry thanks brother Arius so it speaks to us there about not giving up because we don't know when we Might reap if we don't tire out and it's interesting because uh we had to deal with the same situation with our young daughter uh she said Dad I've lost my cuteness
Powers people don't listen anymore and but we had to help her realize that she was still cute and other people will listen to what she had to say good thanks for that comment so we can see can't with the the videos there particularly particularly that one there we can see that it it's not just For our young ones because we even as adults we might have days like that but we can draw some good encouragement from that and also too from our verse there to uh not give up and we will reap if we don't
tire out so thanks for your comments keep those points in mind this week as we go in the ministry and I'm sure you'll have a successful uh Ministry we'll hand back to our chairman well with our B study campaign in full flight and it's really lovely to See the support that that campaign's been given in the congregation we have this next part keep offering Bible studies and we'll invite brother Nicholas krupi to take us through this how have you been going with offering Bible studies during our special campaign this month well if you have already
been able to start a Bible study you must be excited and how encouraging it is um for others to see the success of your Efforts however if you haven't yet been able um to see the uh efforts uh to see the results from your own efforts you may be feeling a little discouraged what then can we do if if we start to feel this way let us have a look at our video now to see hey gab Hey Olivia how's it going uh you know it's going good just doing another letter w territory so you
know how that is okay well hey Gabe good to see you hey s it's good to see you too Is that Gab oh hey baby how's bath hey Mom it's busy but great I'm learning a lot oh look who just got home from work hey Gabe hey Max so if it's possible can you send me some more of my things I can text your list Absolutely I'll get right on it great thank you so much Olivia I'll let you get back to letter writing great hey all right we'll let you go love you okay love
you too bye bye by so Olivia I thought that you enjoyed letter Writing I don't know it just feels like another letter another envelope and another black hole black hole yeah you know stuff goes in but nothing ever comes out of it it's not that bad what do you mean you were just telling me that no one's responded to you okay yeah I get a little antsy for replies like I texted my old classmate Sarah but she just hasn't said anything back to me yet I just hope I didn't overdo it what do you think
is it to much do you think it's too much it's too much sure she'll uh sure she'll get back to you all right is everything on gab's list thank you at least we'll have a little more Room for uh when you're your mom moves in yeah anyway Gabe will love this he already told me how much he misses fishing what if we do something a little different for Family Worship this week sure so this is where you and Gabe would fish right yeah we learned a lot of lessons about fishing here so lately preachings felt
like a black hole Right we have the right equipment but what does a fisherman need more than anything 2 Corinthians 6:4 it says but in every way we recommend ourselves as God's ministers by now what does verse six say Olivia it says by Purity by knowledge by patience patience it helps us to keep trying again and again to not give up and we're not casting into a black Hole but into a Blue Sea full of deserving ones now maybe we can't see it but Jehovah knows they're there and it may take some time but if
we're patient together we'll find find them Irene's got some great ideas on how to make our letter writing more personal I'm sure at times some of us may have felt as Olivia did but how can 2 Corinthians 6 and: 4 and 6 help us if ever Ministry seems like a black Hole brother uh Papa it can help us to never give up and to rely on Jehovah to give us a helping hand when in the ministry and in letter writing yeah very nice and brother bck here the verse six mentioned about patience so when we
think about the ministry we need to think about patience CU we don't always see uh results like we'd all love to see results instantly but it's not always going to happen so we need to have that quality of patience Yeah very true and um brother krupi that was a nice uh illustration he used too about just changing our mindset about the black hole rather than that seeing it as a A Great Big Blue Sea full of uh potential opportunities uh to start a study so if we go with that mindset then certainly um and patience
of course uh we're going to be streets ahead very good so we can see that we need to cultivate patience when it comes to our Ministry so what adjustments could you make if you feel as though your efforts to start a Bible study have been unproductive uh sister um ruena we have to be patient that has been said because they might change on the different time as well and also um the thinking of one pizza all so we might have change our approach from one person to another because every person is different very good so
trying a new Approach is a good way um brother Nicholson I liked um how they included the text from the uh young sister to a friend which seemed quite the letter um so sometimes we can overthink things and make it more complex and we know a lot about the truth in fact we're experts on the truth and we go and preach about it but we need to remember I certainly need to remember just keep it simple keep it to the point and let them do more talking than I do yeah good point keep It simple
and brother kup you one of the closing remarks in the little video was about um some tips on how to make the her letter a little bit more personal so whether it's a letter we're writing or whether it's um trying to start a a a Bible study in the ministry if we work along with others and even ask for some feedback and uh any any um help that they might be able to give us in our approach that might make our Approach more appealing and if we're open to that we might find we'll find some
real gems that's a good suggestion and sister um Vina I like the comparison he took them the because he used to go fishing and what he did is he said that to catch different fish we need to change a bite so maybe the strategy should be different and the society has mentioned different times of the day ER lately we've been listening to People and when we listen try to adjust the bite to what the person needs um or sometimes U witness informally doesn't have to be in a formal way so maybe if we look for
different approaches Jehovah is going to bless us very good thank you all for your comments so friends let us um never let our joy be dependent on our um results of our ministry rather let us rejoice knowing that Jehovah is pleased by um all of our efforts um as we Continue to wholeheartedly uh take part in this special campaign remembering the words of 1 Corinthians 15 and verse 58 that your labor is not in vain in connection with the Lord thanks very much uh brother krupi uh some very fine pointers in that uh video wasn't
there that we can really take to heart okay well that brings us to our congregation Bible study and we're going to invite uh brother Kevin krider and our study tonight's on chapter 15 15 Paragraphs 13 and 14 and the Box on page 121 so thanks brother ker well friends last week we learned that a rift can take place Place between spiritually strong Servants of Jehovah God like that which took place between uh Paul and Barnabas but despite their different opinions and views on matters these men showed some really fine qualities they showed humility forgiveness and
the importance of maintaining the Christian Brotherhood and overseers today strive to emulate those qualities but also by extension all of us we want to strive to uh achieve those same kind of spiritual qualities as displayed by Paul and Barnabas but this week we're going to shift our attention to another overseer had really fine qualities and this of course was the man young man Timothy and we will begin to learn more about Timothy as we uh look at chapter 15 and and those two Paragraphs on the at paragraphs 13 and 14 in that box um so
as we go through the material tonight try to get a a visual visualize what Timothy was like you know he was in his in in his 20s and he accomplished quite a bit in Jehovah's service so to get us underway could we ask someone from the audience to read Acts chapter 16 veres 1 to3 who would like to do that for us I will have sister Esther in the back thanks so he arrived at Derby and also At lisra and a disciple named Timothy was there the son of a believing Jewish woman but of a
Greek father and he was well reported on by the brothers in lisra and Iconium Paul expressed a desire for Timothy to accompany him and he took him and circumcised him because of the Jews in those places for they all knew that his father was a Greek thank you so much that was nicely read well now we'll get into the material we'll have brother Bron hor who's going To read for us uh paragraphs 13 and 14 and then he's going to go right into the box and read that as well after that thanks brother bronc Paul's
second Paul's second missionary journey took took him to the Roman province of galatia where a few congregations had been established eventually he arrived at Derby and also at lisra the the account adds a disciple named Timothy was there the son of a believing Jewish woman but of a Greek Father evidently Paul had met Timothy's family when first traveling to the area about the year 47 CE now during his second visit two or three years later Paul took special notice of the young man Timothy why because Timothy was well reported on by the brothers Not only
was he well liked by the by the brothers in his hometown but his reputation extended beyond the boundary of his own congregation the account explains that the brothers both in lisra and and in Iconium some 30 km away had good things to say about him Guided by Holy Spirit the elders entrusted young Timothy with a weighty responsibility to assist Paul and Silas as a traveling Minister Timothy was a highly valued assistant to the Apostle Paul after the two men had worked side by side for some 11 years Paul could write concerning Timothy I have no
one of a disposition like his who will genuinely care for your concerns you know the proof he gave Of himself that like a child with a father he slaved with me to Advance the good news Timothy readily gave of him of Timothy readily gave of himself in order to promote the preaching work thus endearing himself to Paul and setting a fine example for us the son of a Greek father and a Jewish mother Timothy seems to have been raised in lisra from infancy Timothy had been taught the scriptures by his mother Eunice and his grandmother
Lois along With them Timothy likely accepted Christianity during Paul's first visit to Timothy's hometown by the time Paul returned some years later Timothy then possibly in his late teens or early 20s was already well reported on by the brothers in lisra and ionium God's spirit had inspired prophecies about the young man and in harmony with them Paul and the local the local Elders recommended that Timothy undertake a special form of service he Was to accompany Paul as a missionary companion Timothy would would have to leave his family and in order to eliminate the possible cause
for complaint among the Jews whom Timothy would be visiting he had to submit to circumcision Timothy traveled extensively he preached with Paul and Silas in Philippi with Sal with Silas in Berea and then alone in in thessalonica when he again met up with Paul in Corinth Timothy brought good News about the love and faithfulness shown by the Thessalonians during their during their tribulation despite their tribulation on receiving disturbing news about the Corinthians Paul then in Paul then in Ephesus considered sending Timothy back to Corinth from Ephesus Paul later dispatched Timothy and arus to to Macedonia
but when Paul wrote to the Romans Timothy was back with him in Corinth these are just some of the Journeys that Timothy undertook for the sake of the good news that Timothy may have been somewhat hesitant in exercising his authority is indicated by Paul's encouragement never let anyone look down on your youth but Paul could confidently could confidently dispatch Timothy to a troubled congregation with instructions command certain ones not to teach different Doctrine Paul also gave Timothy the authority to appoint overseers and Ministerial servants in the congregation Timothy's excellent qualities endeared him to Paul the
scriptures reveal that the younger man was a close faithful and affectionate companion like a son Paul could write that he remembered Timothy's tears longed to see him and prayed for him like a concerned Father Paul also gave Timothy advice about his frequent cases of sickness apparently stomach problems during Paul first imprisonment In Rome Timothy was by his side at least for a period Timothy too endured prison bonds the depth of feeling between these two men can be gauged by the fact that when Paul perceived that his own death was near he summoned Timothy do your
utmost to come to me shortly whether Timothy arrived in time to see his beloved Mentor again is not revealed in the scriptures thank you for reading for us tonight brother Bron course we really Appreciate it okay so we're starting to get a a nice picture of the young man Timothy but we're really going to dig deep into it and try to learn a little bit more about him and what we can learn from his example through the rest of this study this evening so question a for paragraphs 13 and 14 and it also brings points
out of the box as Well who was Timothy and under what circumstances May Paul have met him thanks brother Higa oh we you know he was a disciple of Jesus and we know that his mother's name was Eunice but he had a Greek uh Greek father thank you brother GA yes parents um brother Aras we also get an insight as to how he grew into being such a spiritual man not only did his mother and grandmother Inculcate into him uh Bible truth but then he had the examples of uh the Apostle Paul in the way
that he journeyed with him and would have learned many lessons with regards to the ministry and how to deal with brothers and sisters thank you brother Aras just there in paragraph two in the Box it highlights 2 Timothy 1 15 talks about the type of Faith what type of Faith did his grandmother and his mother Display thanks sister Vino says um an unhypocritical Faith yeah so what kind of foundation did he have brother krupi yeah so his family that was in the truth lived the truth they didn't say one thing and do something else but
their their faith was very real and and it set a a really good pattern for Timothy to follow he knew what real Faith was exactly exactly and when did Paul meet Timothy Was it on his second Journey sister Gallo no he met him um he would have met Timothy's family when he first traveled in the area about 47 CA yes thank you so much so we get to see now we see the circumstances how Paul has met Timothy and saw how his faith has grown um we'll have a look now at question B what led
Paul to take special notice of Timothy um we'll have sister mlan First acts 16:2 tells us that Timothy was well reported on by the brothers in lisra and Iconium so because his reputation as a spiritual man was known amongst the brothers even many kilometers away this brought him to the attention of the Apostle Paul thank you and sister wadwani like in the paragraph says that guarded by the Holy Spirit the elders and trusted young Timothy with a we he responded responsibility so he can Assist Paul and silence in their travels thank you sister wadani that's
a nice segue into my supplemental question so looking in paragraph three in the Box we could ask the question what is meant by God's spirit had inspired prophecies about the young men that's interesting it inspired prophecies about him you see the study study note for 1 Timothy 1:18 it's particularly related to this Young man Timothy Bible prophecies about him it's an interesting point uh thanks brother Nicholson yeah so a a very um special young man if you like so hovah actually prophesied that this young man would be used um in the Christian congregation the broader
Christian congregation and so that's quite unusual but we expect such things in the fledgling uh Christian congregation Where Jehovah is very much involved directing matters and his spirit is evident it's the same today um but it was very we get a really clear picture with Timothy that he inspired prophecy yes thank you brother Nichols was the Apostle Paul the only one that noticed this or recognized this what does it say again thanks brother krupi well it says that he was well reported on uh to the point that the Brothers um were moved by Spirit to
give him weighty spiritual responsibilities and even the reports from 30 kilometers away about this young man don't happen because he's indolent but he's obviously very busy and very capable exactly so they recognize this about him so they were ready to send him off in the special service to accompany Paul very interesting isn't it as we learn more about Timothy so we'll move a question C what assignment did Timothy receive more than one assignment actually we could say uh sister T sander thanks Timothy was to accompany Paul as a missionary companion yes very important privilege and
sister Higa and he also U accompanied um Silas and at one time he even uh went alone Solo in thessalonica and then uh also with Paul In Corinth and bringing good news about the love and faithfulness shown by the Thessalonian Brothers despite their tribulation yeah so is this um were these places all in the same area or were they spread apart what do you think would he have had to have traveled sister Aras thanks well it shows us that he traveled to many regions cuz apart from going to Philippi Berea he also went to Macedonia
So he went the other side of the world so he did travel a fair distance from his local area alongside Paul and several other missionary companions yes thank you very much so just keep that in the back of your mind now so all the traveling he had to do okay but remember what Paul wrote about his travels in that area was was it easy what kind of hardships did Paul face brother barick well it wasn't just the physical Hardships but uh Paul had been through much persecution at various places many good things too about spreading
the good news but various difficulties that uh Jews brought upon him uh different other ones brought upon Him opposes brought upon him so when of course Timothy probably knew some of these things so of course these are things you could imagine would be discussed by Tim Timothy and Paul and the oldest there exactly thanks for highlighting that Point so Paul talked about robbers didn't he very undesirable people that he would encounter on his travels on his missionary Journeys you know and these are the same types of individuals that this young man would have had to
have probably encountered as well and we think of Timothy in his 20s we have brothers here in our congregation in their 20s can you imagine brother villino Lucas here brother namoro in the back um these young men going off and Doing this type of traveling uh and doing this kind of work it just it gives you a bit of insight into what Timothy would have encountered and what he what it was like for him we've got a a graphic to put up here on the if we can make that a little bit bigger is that
so I thought I'd just put this together just to give you a visual on Timothy's travel so he was born in lisra or he was from lisra so that red that red arrow number one so that points Where lisra is at so that's where he started out and then number two he preached with Paul and Silas and Philippi so if you follow the I think it's the blue line I can't see it from very well from here we can see Philippi very top part of Greece there and then and then he was alone in thessal
thessalonica so that's just a little bit Southwest of Philippi so he traveled There then he met Paul again met up with Paul in Corinth so that's clear down in the bottom Southern Greece with the black line then Paul later dispatched Timothy to uh Macedonia so we see that long line there the yellow line going to Macedonia and then he met up again with Paul in Corinth so what's your thoughts on on that looking at that picture and what does that reveal about Timothy anybody care to Comment uh thanks sister T sander well trouble in those
days definitely might not be very comfortable maybe compared to these days and we can see that Timothy didn't hesitate he accepted all the assignments and then he just uh went all the ways and like pretty everywhere and um no complain so he was really uh faithful yes thank you sister Ted sander and brother krupi obviously uh keeping company with Paul And learning at the foot of Paul he his stature as a spiritual man would have grown considerably and it was interesting that uh Paul was able to um confidently dispatch him to a troubled con congregation
with the direction to command certain ones not to teach different doctrines that's not a job for the faint-hearted um yet Paul was confident that Timothy could uh fulfill that assignment and speak with authority to Such ones and have uh the right outcome so certainly he he was one that was empowered by Holy Spirit and used very well thanks for highlighting that point brother kupi that was one of the assignments what was another assignment that Paul gave Timothy uh sister Katherine Shephard please he also gave him authority to appoint overseas and ministerial servants in the congregation
Yes thank you and sister molik also too he had to submit to circumcision at that time because um under the law that they they the men had to be circumcised thanks for bringing out that point that wouldn't have been an easy thing for Timothy to do um again that would have showed his faith wouldn't it um to be sister villero comment it's interesting how much Paul loved Tim F because the kind of person That he was to him too but for example Paul told him never let alone look down on your youth so he gave
him Authority but also told him that he needed to be firm on what he was doing but also um er the scriptures show that the young man was close faithful and an affectionate companion to Paul and Paul could write about him that he could remember Timothy's tears and longer to see him and pray to him for him so uh really Jehovah used Timothy as a source Of encouragement H for Paul it was a young man that did wonderful things because Jehovah used him but also he was a really good compan for the PO for thanks
sister Vino and was it just a companion travel comp companion for Paul sister doden thanks was not only that when Paul went in prisonment in Rome Timothy was by his side yes he was by Paul's side and a very important part of his life and Sister Lim I'm in 2 Timothy 1:3 and4 Paul mentions Paul's uh Timothy's tears that he remembers through experiences they shared together and he also show showed fatherly concern as he gave advice about his physical sickness so he shows that they had a close faithful and affectionate companion relationship like a father
and a son yes thank you but just going back to paragraph four and these travels that he did was It just with Paul that he was a companion was this reveal about Timothy thanks sister Gallow that he also went to Macedonia with arrest arresters so he he wasn't only just um accompanying poor but he was actually accompanying others yeah thank you sister Gallen was there anybody else that he accompanied sister mccullock he also Trel with um silus in Philippi and withis in Berea yeah so what does that teach us about him sister Renee would you
like to comment um and uh Romans chapter 16 and verse 21 talks about greetings coming from Paul's family as well oh sorry yeah Paul's relatives as well um he was accompanying them so um Jo just shows us his real um can do attitude and willingness to help others in preaching work and um working alongside anyone he can thank you very much that's he set a very good example in that way didn't he As a traveling companion and working with others so just looking at those last two paragraphs of paragraphs six and seven in the box
and the scriptures there what does it say we kind of touched on a little bit but what does it say about the relationship between Paul and Timothy how would you describe it sister Aras well it was like a fatherson relationship because Paul speaks to speaks about Timothy affectionately Gives him medical advice and when Paul was at his last stages impr prisonment knowing he was about to die he called for Timothy to come seeing like a parent would call their child when they know they're at their last moments so we don't know if Timothy reached in
time but you saw that it was a close relationship between them yes thanks for highlighting that for us so that brings us to the next Point as we finish off this study what lesson about Timothy or About the relationship between him and Paul that we can apply today what do you see that we could what lesson can we learn from that thanks sister valerina we can see that they work together and we do the same with the brothers and sisters sometimes have companionships for for years uh sisters and or that become like like our sisters
and become our friends for for life and we encourage each other as Paul and Timothy Did and also we can do the same with elderly or not a young uh other sisters or brothers depending uh so we can also have that kind of relationship and Jehovah always Through The Years give us friends that are similar to that and those friends help us to endure as Timothy help it um P to endure and vice versa so they help each other uh despite the difference of Ages yes very nice thanks V sister Vino and sister ruena and
all this willingness even in the Danger zone that they really doing it and because of to advance the good news very nice thank you sister Rua are there any oh brother Lynn l n and just the passion that we see Timothy has for the truth that it compels them to walk all all over the basically all over the place and generally just I from his ex kind of uh his example I see just all the blessings that he end up receiving um meeting all These faithful brothers and just it just kind of now we can
kind of also adopt the same attitude that whatever that we have kind of like Jehovah asked for us we we we do fully try to submit our heart into it because in the end like it it is really just a life full of blessings and so just so much Adventure that we can have in this world thank you brother Lynn we'll have one more uh sister La broga we know how much the Apostle Paul Exerted himself to reach the heart of many different people and that's why he was able to say to the Jews I
became a Jew in order to gain Jews and Timothy did the same when even even knowing that the circumcision was not a Christian requirement he was willing to go ahead with that painful surgery because he didn't want any of the Jews that they were going to preach to to stul such a nice Point thank you sister La broga we'll we'll end it on that note Thank you brothers and sisters we've learned a little bit more about the young man Timothy tonight didn't we we'll hand it back over to brother kriy well probably got a bag
full to take home tonight there was a lot in our meeting that we could really benefit from wasn't there how about that point about uh prayer helps us to endure do we pray more when we're undergoing trials or we should because we need Jehovah's help to endure and as was Brought out Jehovah answers our prayers and helps us to endure what about that divided heart that's no good is it divided heart can you imagine cutting your heart in half your physical one be useless well it's the same with our spiritual heart too it needs to
be wholehearted in our service to Jehovah and that's something that Jehovah can really bless in the apply yourself to the field Ministry we had beautifully demonstrated Qualities like kindness when we are helpful perseverance when we take the time to make an appointment to call back commitment when we study regularly we don't let anything get in the way of that you know if we put those pra those points into practice we're demonstrating we we really want Jehovah to bless our efforts to procure a Bible study aren't we what about those two videos weren't they fantastic really
hit the the nail On the head don't give up are we able to take the same stance as Jesus did see what this is of value to people even if they don't recognize it so we don't want to give up and then that second video really got to the Core of how patience is really required isn't it if we're going to be successful can't throw a fishing line in and five minutes later pack up and go home because you didn't catch the fish takes a lot of patience it's same in the Ministry so we can
learn from those examples in our congregation Bible study did you learn more about Timothy tonight than you knew before I'm sure there were little things that you picked up and so we see the Great value in these uh discussions that we're having from this publication and helping us to appreciate and see how these same things occur today in the Christian congregation and uh how Jehovah blesses the efforts of those like Timothy who put the truth First and uh developed their spirituality have you enjoyed the meeting tonight hope you have and we really appreciate all the
hard work of our brothers and sisters in their preparation and putting their parts together and getting up here and delivering them it's so it's no easy feat but we appreciate your efforts so let's uh close our meeting now with a song it's song 39 it's entitled make a Good name with God and following that will close in prayer hello again everyone welcome back to our channel in today's video we're going to be considering some of the main points for this midweek meeting September 16th to 22nd 2024 friends we welcome you and now let's get started
so for this week's Bible reading we have some 85 to 87 ahead of us we have this good information and the first section of the midweek meeting treasur from God's word includes an interesting talk discourse entitled prayer helps us to endure and then in the second section of this part the spiritual gems we're going to be responding an interesting one what does David's prayer suggest about a person's heart And we also have the third section of the m week meeting living as Christians and number seven assignment number seven is entitled don't give up this is
a discussion and includes a video and a question or some questions like why may we at times feel like giving up in the ministry and why should we not give up this is related with Caleb and Sophia and number eight is related keep offering Bible studies another discussion with some Questions and finally number nine congregation Bible study chapter 15 and just paragraphs 13 and 14 just two paragraphs and a box in page 12 1 and basically the focus of this Bible study is about Timothy the young one Timothy from the scriptures so let's talk about
briefly about number one about prayer helps us to endure and is a fact that many people including atheist people including no Religious people they recognize that in a certain moment of their lives they used to prayer to God asking for help and this happens many times when people feel they are hitting the rock Buton so sometimes there are situations that moves us and hit us and we understand that we are so insignificant before live before before challenges and we are not able to do it by just by ourselves we need a superior help and this
is biblical but sometimes Is a process and we really appreciate that we recognize our position and Jehovah's position and that we are not at the same level but we truly need him and one way to recognize how we need him is through prayer and that's what the psalmist did we take a look of the scripture in Psalm 86:4 he said make your servant Rejoice for to you oh Jehovah I turn So if you have the opportunity to ask whatever thing you want to God what might you ask him we notice the servant the sist he
asked Rejoice rejoice in his heart and that's really interesting ask to Jehovah give you Joy and that's very proper then we notice in Psalm 86 verse 11 and 12 he said instruct me Oh Jehovah about your way I'll walk in your truth unify My Heart To Fear your name I praise you oh Jehovah my God with all my heart and I'll glorify your name Forever This is deep also he is asking here in these verses about unify his heart to fear His holy name and that's really important because we need we looking looking for the
same goal in other words to reflect God's glory we also need to persevere in Prayer if we think for a moment the way we used to start our day and many people used to start their day many of them checking their social media and but a good Christian mature Christian starts his day praying actually friends we recognize that our example Jesus he used to start his day early in the morning praying and on the contrary and in the same way he used to end his day praying so he was perfect he was this is The
Son of God but if he was a man of prayer there is no wonder why we should imitate his example and what do you think about prayer that's a good question to think about do you think it's important start your day by praying ending your day praying if a person Christian recognize that we could say that this is a mature Christian it's like our food physical food we need physical food we need water and it's the same we need prayer every Day and we can and should pray that Jehovah help us to serve him in
a good way that end we can properly ask him for Holy Spirit for more faith for strength to resist temptation and for ability to handle the word of the truth are right and as a child depends on his father so we need to depend on our heavenly father Jehovah that's really important like Jesus did he depended on his Heavenly Father may we never feel that we are bothered to him instead in prayer let us pray him thank him seek his Direction especially when under trial and ask that he help us to serve in in ways
that glorify his holy name and we could let him know know that we are in a difficult situation how we feel and that we don't see a way out we don't see a solution for that but we believe that he could provide us a way out a solution we don't understand how he'll make it but we Believe that he'll make it and there is no doubt that's another level of friendship or relationship with our heavenly father our friend our god Jehovah so friends really important matter and to think about do your prayers increase in length
and frequency when You Face trials so friends that's for this video thanks for watching we hope you have a wonderful day and hope to see you in Another broadcast
