I analyze the top 50 most influential creators from this year to uncover their secrets to overnight success so that Muggles like us can Implement their top strategies and have a chance at getting our big break so if you've ever asked yourself questions like which platform is most likely to help creat a go viral should I focus on Long firm or short firm content how often should I post every week or even how long is this going to take before I finally make it what I'm about to share with you through countless hours of research might surprise you as always resources and time stamps are below use them Point Blank period it seems like everyone wants to be a content creator right now and it's pretty obvious why there are 27 million paid creators in the United States alone 44% of them are doing content creation fulltime that's 11. 6 million people 32% do it part-time and 24% do it as a hobby and the craziest part is that 10. 4 million of those creators are actually micro influencers with less than 10,000 followers so if being a content creator is your goal why not learn from the best of the best let's identify the top creators that we will be analyzing for this video last year we analyzed the Forbes top 50 list and because the list they released this year looked super similar I decided to analyze Hollywood reporters Creator A-list of the 50 most influential influencers two things to note about this list one just because I'm analyzing this list does not mean I necessarily agree with it Hollywood Reporter themselves basically admit bias in the subheader of this article by saying these are the names who will and should be dominating the business of new and old media so basically this is who they think should be on this list would my list look different yes but we could save that conversation for another video number two I will only be analyzing the people from this list that I identify as creators because if you want to be a Creator we're going to only analyze creators what I mean by that is basically studying people who first became known on social media for their content creation Not actors or singers who became known through Hollywood and now create content once I identified those established creators to give you the most accurate information I could I took those creators and added them to a spreadsheet and through the public information that I had access to I was finally able to crack the code on how these brilliant creators landed their names in the top 50 influential people list so welcome to part one my friends our spreadsheet breakdown if this is your first Deep dive video that you're watching on my channel just know that we're about to get super number heavy but don't worry after this I always turn the numbers into tangible takeaways so that you can practically learn and apply what we go over so don't be scared or maybe be scared a little bit I don't know on our spread we have creators like Alex Earl brettman Rock Keith Lee Rett and Link and Nara Smith the average age for these creators is 29 years old with the oldest being Rett and Link at 46 years old and the youngest being Charlie dilio at 20 those with YouTube channels have an average following of 4.
3 million subscribers those with an Instagram profile have an average following of 6. 25 million followers and those with Tik Tok accounts have an average following of 11 million followers which means Tik Tok out of all of the platforms has the highest average following altogether when looking at each Creator's main platform they have an average of about 14 million followers across platforms now at first glance you will see that right now the most popular platform of choice for these creators are Tik Tok with 46. 67% of them using it as their main platform Instagram with 28.
89% using it as their main platform YouTube with 22% using using it as their main and twitch with 2. 2% using it as their main now just because that's their current main platform that they post to right now that doesn't necessarily mean that was the platform that brought them their viral success for example tan Mojo tan Mojo Mojo Mojo I think it's Mojo Mojo Jojo T Mojo her main platform is categorized as Tik Tok right now and that's simply because that is where she is the most active but she originally blew up over on YouTube with that in mind I wanted to know where these creators got their big breaks and as it turns out 48. 7 2% of them blew up over on Tik Tok 33.
3% blew up on YouTube 10. 26% blew up on Instagram 5% blew up with a Blog 2. 5% blew up on Vine and 0% blew up on Twitch even if twitch is their main platform right now none of them got their big break through twitch what's interesting is Tik Tok and and YouTube alone accounts for 82% of these creators success I don't know about you but I'd probably be interested in making content over there now wrapping up our spreadsheet breakdown when it comes to annual revenue we couldn't find a lot of public information on everyone but of the information we could find we calculated that on average these creators make $7.
6 million per year with our highest earners being R and Link with their projected income for 2024 being $36 million and the lowest earner being teffy pooa at $200,000 per year which I say in quotes because again it was really hard to find annual income for a lot of these creators so that number could very well be wrong and I'm aware of that now that we have a basic understanding of our spreadsheet and our creators it is time for part two posting activity what I was curious about when taking a look at our data was how active these creators are how often are they posting do they post to multiple platforms what what does their current activity look like and this is what I learned as creators grew they Diversified their platforms meaning every single one of these creators currently post to more than one social media account 48. 7% have two to three accounts 30. 7% have four to six accounts 18% have between seven and nine accounts and only one person or should I say Duo have more than 10 accounts 19 to be exact and if you're like how is that even possible it's WR link for those of you who don't know they basically run a multi- Channel network on YouTube with channels like Good Mythical Morning Good Mythical Mo mythical kitchen R and links Wonder hole and more plus those channels have dedicated Tik Tok or Instagram account so that added up really quickly when it comes to posting frequency on average top creators post about four times per week on YouTube we saw the posting frequency of 2.
6 times per week Instagram was 3. 2 times per week and Tik Tok was 4. 8 times times a week the main type of content that these creators produce is short form content 74% of them post short form content then we have a big jump to 28% posting long form content and then 23% posting pictures and if you're like those numbers don't add up to 100 that's because some creators posted both short form and long form content or short form and photo content then aside from Main social media accounts I was also curious about other endeavors plat forms or media that these creators had explored throughout their careers so I took a look at things like podcasts blogs acting gigs Spotify music only fans and what did he say I didn't well I didn't look at only fans accounts I would just like look to see what sort of media they had and they one of them had only fans so you know I didn't I didn't like actually look I just you know it was just that's suspicious it's just it's for research it's for research you nasty oh okay yeah yeah oh okay what I discovered was it looked like writing a book was actually the most popular additional media type that had been created and that was actually above podcasting which I thought was super interesting 30% of the creators on this list have written and published a book whereas 21% have podcasts and then finally something that I thought was worth noting was 100% of these creators all have an inst account whether or not they use it as their main page or for repurposing their Tik Tok videos or simply as a means to their own personal accounts to share life updates every single one of them had an Instagram if you love Deep dive videos like this I definitely have to give a huge shout out to somebody on my team who does a lot of This research for me so to help share my thank you be sure to comment we love Joel down below because he truly is what's the word he's can't think um what was I saying because all of my deep dive videos none of them would be possible without him the hours of research that he puts into it creating the spreadsheet helping me with these Deep dive videos so if you like them give Joel a shout out because we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him so shout out Joel diving into part three let's go over these creators growth Journey none of these creators on our list started their Journey as a Creator in the past 2 years 38% began their journey in the past 3 to 5 years 31% started 5 to9 years ago and 31% started 10 years ago the most common year that we saw come up for when these creators got started was in 2020 now ret and Link are our longest standing creators who started back in 2006 that is six years before Good Mythical Morning came into play and Sabrina Brier is our newest Creator who started her content creator Journey just 3 years ago in 2021 now when they started that's fun to know but what's even more fun is when they went viral and how long it took for them to go viral these creators spent an average of 2 years of grinding before going viral the average time it took for a Creator to blow up on YouTube was 1.
78 years the average time for a Creator to blow up on Tik Tok was 2 years and the average time for a Creator to blow up on Instagram was 2. 5 years 17. 95% of these creators went viral more recent ly in the past 2 years 43.
59 went viral 3 to 5 years ago 20. 5% went viral 5 to9 years ago and 17. 95% went viral over 10 years ago and they are still on this list there's a buck there's a bug my bad Camila Coello gets the award for the most dedicated and resilient Creator because she was grinding for 9 years before going viral and then we have 10 people on this list who actually went viral the same year that they started posting creators like Charlie demilio Noah Beck Sean Evans and tan Mojo now out of everything that we have gone over today and more information that we have on our spreadsheet what can we actually learn from this information what can we actually learn from these top creators let's get into some key takeaways key takeaway number one if you are a Creator wanting to grow it looks like Tik Tok and YouTube yielded the best results for the creators on our list we saw this Proof come up multiple times in our data for example 48.
7 2% blew up over on Tik Tok and 33. 33% blew up on YouTube and then of the 10% that did blow up on Instagram none of their viral years were recent years all of them went viral on Instagram 2020 or earlier there's no recent viral creators there then when taking a look at years grinding we saw that YouTube Tik Tok saw the quickest results with YouTube creators spending 1.
