The movie begins with a man named Roger Brown, introducing himself as a short man at 1. 68 meters tall. He compensates for his lack of height with money, and his fancy house worth $30 million.
His wife, on the other hand, is a tall beautiful woman named Diana. She believes that Roger is a wealthy man who received a large inheritance from his parents, but the truth is far from that. Diana desperately wants to have a baby with him, but if there's one thing in life that Roger doesn't want, it's to have a baby with her.
He then drops Diana to her art gallery, and here we learn that Roger often feels threatened that his hot wife can leave him for a better-looking man, especially one who is taller than 1. 68 meters, so he gifts her with expensive gifts in an effort to keep her happy. After dropping his wife off, Roger goes to see his side chick, Lotte.
Lotte tells Roger that they're invited to a dinner party, which shocks him. He strictly tells her that there is no "We," and with that, he informs Lotte that they're over and walks out. At the office, Roger, as a headhunter for Pathfinder, which is his client's company, greets Lander, a potential CEO for the company.
He asks Lander various questions about his family and house. Roger then points at an expensive painting hanging on his office wall, and asks Lander if he has something expensive like the painting at his house. When Lander reveals that he does in fact have a painting that's worth millions, Roger assures him that his position is guaranteed if he follows his instructions.
After his interview with Lander, Roger's accountant tells him that he might go bankrupt because he spends too much on his wife, especially on her art gallery. He then proceeds to call Ove, his friend who works at the surveillance company. He tells him about Lander's details, and once Ove has all the details required, Roger ends the call and makes a drive to Lander's place.
Here, the truth about Roger's side job comes out: he is a thief who steals valuable paintings, and is always on the lookout for someone who's in possession of an expensive painting. As Roger infiltrates the house, and replaces the original painting with a dupe, Ove deactivates the cameras and security around Lander's house. With the successful heist, Roger makes it to Diana's gallery's opening.
Diana tells Roger that she wants him to meet an interesting person that she met. She then introduces him to a handsome, and tall man named Clas Greve, whom Roger is immediately intimidated by. Clas tells Roger that he has recently retired as the CEO of a tech company called HOTE, which specializes in GPS tracking.
Hearing this, Roger finds Clas as a suitable candidate for the position at Pathfinder. Even though HOTE is Pathfinder's rival, he tells Clas to meet up with him for further conversation. With the event wrapped up, Diana discloses to Roger that Clas has asked her to authenticate a lost Rubens painting that he inherited.
Roger's ears instantly perk up upon the information as he inquires about the worth of the painting. Once he learns that the painting could be tens or even hundreds of Millions worth, Roger feels that stealing this painting can solve his recent financial struggles, so he calls Ove and sets up the meeting to discuss their next heist. The next morning, Diana asks Roger if he's ready to start a real family, since Roger has declined Diana's request for seven years.
Roger angrily tells her that if she keeps bugging him about having kids, they won't have any in the next 7 years. Upon looking at Diana's face, Roger immediately regrets his words. When Roger meets up with Ove, Ove expresses his reluctance to do the job, and Roger learns that Ove wants to spend time with a Russian prostitute instead of working with him.
We learn that Ove has a dirty plan with his colleagues, that he has installed a secret camera in his bedroom, and that his girl will be streamed live for the pleasure of his colleagues. Hearing this, Roger tries to persuade Ove by telling him that he'll be left with millions if they manage to get the painting, and so, Ove agrees. Roger then meets with Clas in the restaurant, where he tries his usual tactics to get information out of Clas.
Clas then invites Roger to play squash, and here Clas tells Roger that he’s divorced, but at least he has a dog. Roger then notices old scars on his back, so Clas reveals that he received those scars after being recruited in the military's special division, that tracks missing people using microscopic transmitters, a nano technology that came from HOTE. That night, Roger does some research and finds that Clas has tracked down some serious criminals.
Even though it might be risky to steal from someone with that kind of background, he still goes ahead with his plan. With the arrival of a new day, Roger breaks into Clas' apartment, and steals the painting, before he quickly swaps it with a counterfeit. Once the deed is done, he stops by the window to see a group of kids playing outside.
He smiles and decides to ring Diana, but to his surprise, a ringtone is heard in the distance. Roger follows the sound, which leads him to Clas's bedroom where he finds Diana's phone. He is shocked to find that his wife is cheating on him with Clas.
Later, he returns home to find Diana watching TV, so he asks her about her phone, but Diana replies that she must have left it at her gallery. During a Pathfinder interview with Clas, Roger tries to contain his anger, ignoring the fact that Clas has developed GPS technology. It is a gel containing hundreds of transmitters per milliliter that can stick to anything, but Roger can't pay attention because he can't stop thinking about his wife and Clas.
Despite the job interview going well, Roger is so upset that he tells Clas there's no guarantee that he’ll recommend Roger for the position. While driving away, Roger is stopped by Lotte, who acts desperate getting all over Roger, but he quickly pushes her away and asks her to never contact him again. Later, Roger tells Diana about his meeting with Clas and Pathfinder, and tells her that he is going to make sure that Clas doesn't land a job in Norway.
Here Diana's face shows signs of panic, and Roger asks her right away if she found her phone, to which Diana says that she found it in the gallery. Later that night, Ove goes to Roger's garage, as he always does, to take the painting off of Roger's car. However, on the next morning, when Roger makes his way to the garage, he finds Ove lying motionless in his car.
Frightened by Ove's lifeless body, Roger concludes that Ove is dead, and drags him from the front seat and puts him in the trunk. As he sits to drive, he flinches, and it turns out that the car seat was embedded with a poison syringe. Just then, Diana shows up to wish him a nice day, and express her love for him.
Roger then immediately leaves the house, and drives the car to a nearby lake. He drags Ove from the trunk, and throws him in the water. However, just as he starts mourning Ove's death, Ove suddenly comes to life, which surprises him.
He jumps in the lake, and drags a semi-conscious Ove to the car. After driving to Ove's place, Roger places him down, and discloses Diana's affair with Clas. Ove who appears to be in a lot of pain, pleads with Roger to call the police or an ambulance, but Roger can't let the police get involved, so he rushes to get milk in order to neutralize the poison.
But when he opens the fridge, Roger finds Ove's gun, and then he finds Ove with a gun in his hand, telling Roger to call the ambulance. Roger tries to calm him down but when Ove opens fire on him, he ends up using the gun on Ove. After coming to terms with Ove's death, he gets out of the house, and suddenly sees Clas.
Roger runs to his car and speeds off. Midway, he recalls the conversation with Clas, in which Clas revealed his specialty of tracking people, and now Clas might be tracking him via GPS, so he throws away his phone. Roger takes the painting, and switches his car for Ove's.
He then throws away everything he owns, because Clas's transmitters in the invisible jelly could stick to anything, even his wedding ring. Afterwards, Roger puts on Ove's spare uniform, and as the rain starts to pour, he goes to a property where Ove used to stay. He gets out of the car right away, and asks the farmer to rent him a cabin.
The grumpy farmer takes money from him, and allows Roger to seek shelter in his cabin. Once inside the cabin, Roger keeps Ove's pistol away. He looks around and runs to the outside toilet, before deciding to hide the painting in the old, dusty ceiling.
Meanwhile, Clas is still able to track Roger and somehow reaches his cabin. After talking with the farmer, he walks inside, and takes away Ove's gun. Once the painting is secured, Roger is surprised to see Clas who has brought his dog along.
With nowhere to run, Roger takes no chances and gets inside the Porta-potty pit. When Clas finds no traces of Roger, he ends up leaving in dejection. After making sure the coast is clear, Roger immediately gets outside and runs for his car, covered in muck.
But when he gets to the car we learn that Clas has disabled the vehicle to prevent Roger's escape. Out of options, Roger decides to use the tractor instead, and tiptoe his way inside the farmer's house. While trying to find keys, he finds that Claus has killed the farmer.
He carefully takes out the keys for the tractor from the dead man's pocket, and rushes back to the tractor when suddenly, he's attacked by Clas’s dog. A fight ensues between him and the hound, which ends fatal for the dog. Roger then takes off with the tractor, and while driving in the middle of the road, he sees a car following after him.
He tries to dodge the car, but ends up losing balance of the vehicle. The car comes to a halt, and it turns out to be a stranger; he rushes to check on Roger and finds him unconscious, covered in foul-smelling shit. When Roger opens his eyes, he finds himself in a hospital bed.
He winces and goes to check his surroundings when he sees Clas’s car parked outside. Panicked, Roger tries to escape, and he finds the police officers distracted, so he starts running in the corridor. Unfortunately, two officers appear from the other end of the hallway, blocking Roger's path.
One of the officers states that he's a suspect in the farmer's death, and when the cop suddenly asks Roger if his name is Ove, Roger lies and says yes. The cops then take him under their custody, and they tell Roger to confess as they found his car parked outside farmer's residence. Just then, the cops spot a truck that has been reported stolen.
The driving cop stops the car, and steps out to inquire about the incoming truck. But seeing the truck speeding towards his way, Roger’s mind takes him back to the meeting with Clas where he stated that he has come up with a hair transmitter gel. Roger also recalls the moment when Diana ruffled through his hair.
It is at this moment when Roger realizes that this was how Clas has been able to track him everywhere, and that the truck is going to crush them alive. His desperate pleas get ignored by the cops, and as expected, the truck rams the car off the cliff. When Roger regains consciousness, he finds himself upside down with the cops dead beside him.
Clas comes out of the truck, and makes his way to affirm Roger's death. After stopping by the car, he stares intently at Roger ,who pretends to be dead. Clas determines him dead, and walks away allowing Roger to breathe again.
With Clas gone, Roger squirms out of the car, and finds the driving cop with an unrecognizable face. He instantly gets the idea, which is to switch places with the police officer. After shaving his head, he stuffs his hair in a bag of peanuts, and places it in the car, so that Clas can track him to the immobile car.
Then he cleans himself up in the lake, takes the cop’s gun, and exchanges his clothes with the dead cop. With no one to turn to for help, Roger makes his way to Lotte's house. Lotte opens the door and lets a ragged Roger in, and the woman then tells him to wait in the room, while she grabs the first aid kit.
However, when Roger gets up to find a pair of scissors, he notices a pen by HO TE, meaning that Lotte is working with HOTE too, and he manages to stop her from texting Clas about his whereabouts. He then forces Lotte to talk, and here we learn that Clas still works for HOTE, and has been assigned a mission to steal Pathfinder's latest GPS technology. Plus, Clas wants to kill Roger because he ruined his prospects of getting the job at Pathfinder.
He initially hired Lotte, but after Roger ended the affair, Clas approached Diana and told her a lie about a fake painting, so she could introduce him to Roger. She also says that she has put transmitters in Roger's hair before, which means it wasn't Diana. Lotte doesn’t know if Diana is involved, and asks him to get her a glass of water.
But just when Roger turns his back to her, Lotte attacks him with a knife. After an intense fight, Roger manages to shoot Lotte dead. He then makes his way home, and tells Diana the truth about his past, and everything that has happened ever since they met Clas.
Diana apologizes to him and says that she only slept with Clas once, and it was because she was hurt by their fight about having a child. After hearing everything from Roger, Diana tends to his wounds, and asks if he loved Lotte. Roger sincerely tells her that he never loved her.
Diana then calls him stupid for stealing art, and getting her things she didn't need. And so, Roger finally reveals that ever since he met her, he has been scared that she will leave him one day, which is why he stole all the valuable paintings to keep her happy. He further goes on to say that he was scared to give her a child, which she would love more than him.
After hearing Roger's confession, Diana takes him in her embrace. The next morning, Roger bids her goodbye, and not long after he leaves, Diana texts Clas that she wants to meet him. Roger on the other hand, makes his way to the hospital.
There, he sneaks inside the forensic science department and tempers with the evidence. When the police arrive, they find the bag of peanuts with Roger's hair missing. Meanwhile, Diana goes to Clas’s apartment to resume her affair, while Roger goes to Ove's place to clean up the crime scene.
After carefully removing his finger prints, he sits down on Ove's bed. But to his surprise, Clas manages to track him with the hair that Roger was carrying. The real reason Clas wants to kill Roger is so he can get the job at Pathfinder, with the executive who would replace Roger.
He then mocks Roger by telling him that Diana came to him, and said she longs for him. Upon saying this, Clas points the gun towards Roger and asks him why he's smiling. Clas is unaware that Roger has turned on the CCTV cameras again, and Ove's colleagues are watching Clas live.
And then, when Roger refuses to answer, As Clas falls down, Roger tells him that he was smiling because Clas just proved Diana's love to him. It turns out that Diana went to Clas's place in order to swap his bullets with blank cartridges. The gun in his hand is also the one he picked up from the farmer's cabin, which belonged to Ove, and it is the same pistol with which Roger accidentally killed Ove.
The camera in Ove's house also makes it look like there was a shootout between Claus and Ove. Roger gets him into another shootout while the employees of the surveillance company watch in confusion. He then places the gun in Ove's hand, and sneaks out of the window.
Outside, Diana waits in the car for him. When Roger gets in the car, Diana tearfully asks him if it's over, so Roger tells her that it's all over now. Regarding Lotte's death, it turns out that Roger had shot her with the gun he had stolen from the dead police officer, which he smeared with Ove's fingerprints and placed by his bed.
Lotte was dubbed as Clas's lover who was killed by Ove because of his rivalry with Clas as a fellow art burglar. The only flaw in this plan was that Ove had been dead for days, as shown by his forensic report. But luckily, the investigator on this case was known for being the best investigator, and since unsolved cases are not his style, he didn't let the forensic report get out.
With everything wrapped up, Roger returns back to his life, and prepares for the arrival of his child with Diana.
