Rage Against The Machine - S/T (first time album reaction)

hello everyone long time coming again really getting around what I should have been getting around to ages ago in 2025 with rage really love two songs by them infinitely love them um Killing In The Name and Bulls on Parade which are like two of the most famous rage songs ever I've discovered them probably in my early 20s and Killing In The Name specifically is one of my favorite songs of all time it's my go-to karaoke track my friends find it hilarious because I really scream over it have here though being requested an album from one

of my patrons P Funk and he just says let's go that's all he said on it let's go so let's go let's listen to it this is from 1982 it's their self-titled got 10 tracks on it and I do see King in the name is on it a billion listens so I'm glad that I've heard that song before because if not I'd be living under a rock I'm also the reason a lot of my friends know that song which is pretty cool because it's such a great song but first we're going to start off with

bum track before we get into Killing In The Name and just so you know I probably will go insane to Killing In The Name I it's probably going to be a bit annoying I'm going to sing over it I love that song to a different level so but I'm so excited to see what the rest of the album has to offer The Killing and the name album the album that killing the name is on what's the context surrounding that song that I love so much and do I love the rest of the album just as

the volume on that this is so good what [Music] is a little funy for real bom [Music] track what's he [Music] doing they took turns [Music] burn wow that's 100% ladder [Applause] like I actually love how they turn up the volume here so much this is honestly like also another karaoke track I got to put this on a karaoke do I just have to karaoke the whole entire album next time I go it's like everybody give me 50 minutes of your [Music] [Music] time these ribs is so good [Music] burn burn burn you're going to

burn burn burn yes you're going to burn bur I thought like that the rest of the tracks would show themselves to like not be very good compared to killing the name I don't know what I really just had low expectations cuz I thought killing a name is so good track right now is one of my favorite tracks of all time so it's so hard to live up to that but I actually think bum track started that album off so well and now I love I love this track I'm going to cry I love this track

so much okay this is the one song I [Music] know goes really well after bom TR [Music] Killing In The Name Of see that's actually what I phot of the H track once again I they play around with volume it's so much louder here are the same that burn crusts some those their work forces other same the burn crosses some of those the work forces other same the burn crosses some of those that work forces draw the same that crosses I love his ugs they're my favorite part okay I'm going to sa face my favorite

oh oh my [Music] cat that's killing in the name that's one of the best songs ever written one of the best songs I've ever heard in my life I can't get over how good killing the name is I actually think it's one of the best songs I've ever heard in my life but I already knew this I can't imagine listing a killing name for the first time just now if I had just listened to that song for the first time on camera I probably would have freaked out like it helps that I already know how

good the song is so I can control myself a little bit while I'm listening to the track yeah at karaoke I usually go like 20 times harder like especially at the end with the F you I won't do what you tell me I don't swear unless I'm singing that song then I'll swear oh my gosh well I swear I usually just end up sort of screaming it but I also wanted to say like I know Killing In The Name like I know how good it is you probably could see how much I love that track

but then bum track's the one I didn't know yet that is like actual first listen for me so I wanted to say that actually bum track surpassed expectations I think I did the right thing here where I really lowered my expectations for everything else in this album because I love killing the name so much and so killing the name put up my expectations and I know it put up my expectations so I then counter that by lowering them too much if that makes sense so it's sort of perfect and bum track yeah I loved it

I think it was a great opener this album has been perfect so far of course one of the songs is Killing In The Name we'll listen to free more tracks take the power back settle for nothing and bullet in the head get really into this record and actually get a good feel for it because I've only heard one new song so [Music] far that's actually what they do that's funny they be crank up the volume [Music] face it's actually Funk Funk elements oh yeah we brought it in wao that guitar joining in on that b

family but I SLI to escape from the pain a jail cell is freedom from the pain in my harm huh got a nine a sign a set and now I got a name my riding on the [Music] wall to me I this song feels a little off what is this my side suicide [Applause] I don't know what to make of this [Music] yet the lyrics are interesting I feel like I'm getting a better idea of who he is for sure I think sonically I'm not really gripping gripping [Music] lyrics but it's one that I can

it in your head in your head yes in your [ __ ] oh yeah yeah awesome outro I really really liked it I think the second half of that track turned it around completely for me with bullet in the head um the first half was petering on what I didn't really like about settle for nothing where I just felt a bit too slow and just not enough of that energy I'm loving from them and just that fast tempo and that like funky Groove feel and like the wrap delivery and all that stuff um but then

the second half of B in your head really lift it it lifted completely and they really they're very good at outros like these outro which I shouldn't be surprised by because Killing In The Name has one of the best outros I've ever heard so of course they probably just like outros in general and are pretty damn good at them um so they do this repetitive lyric a lot of the time and then just like sort of amp up the energy and amp up the intensity as the outro goes on it works very very well for

me CU I'm loving these outros so I'm going to say subtle for nothing was a0 five or maybe even a zero honestly I really didn't get much settle for nothing unfortunately bullet in the head is another one though so that's great to see bullet in the head I feel like we've gone back towards what I've liked what I like about this band let's move on to know your enemy and wake up let's do it [Music] [Music] I like the prominent [Music] base across the album I love the tracks start with the base what hey so

of me in the the hyoc they love to point out hypocracy what about killing [Music] the calet oh man I love his rap delivery damn it's really great especially area like such intense guitar it's like metal wrap a little bit what genre is this actually I should know [Music] that I got to Google that actually I should know that Rage Against the Machine [Music] genre alternative rock really they have W oh R metal is right here R metal up to break the stru up his blood still flows in the gutter I'm like taking phot move

I can see how many plays Everything has and the play really drop off with fist full of Steel but I don't get it people are sleeping on fist full of Steel if they didn't love that one I think that's a great track actually really liked that one I thought there was good explosive energy there like into the loud Dynamics it really flowed for me quite well I loved the lyrics the mik in the hand the mind on fire like just letting it like he actually is like walking the walk with this he's like talking about

anti the big machine the big corporations government anti any type of like big power over the people that's you know making them stay quiet or be not aware of what's going on or educated on things but it's really hyped me up to speak up more about things that are important to me like I feel like I'm ready to go really good stuff I love it's Rage Against the Machine that's the name of the band and they totally fit the bill they fit exactly what their title is as a band and like Killing In The Name

gives me the idea already of what to expect but to get a whole record of it gosh I'm a little tired I'm not going to lie you know what I totally understand the position of getting mad at these things very great record I really respect how open and real he is with just like the way he sees things like Unapologetic Al himself on this record great guitar as well some really good bass there's some awesome bass moments in this album um I wasn't as hooked into the drums as I usually am I feel like I'm

such a drums person at the moment maybe the drums were actually the main thing that I didn't really focus on the roofs and the base are so damn good like especially the riffs this album is a guitar album as well if you take away the vocalist because obviously the vocalist attracts a lot of my attention just like the way he delivers all these lines and the way he talks about and the way he speaks but the Rifts as well the guitar is actually really really I'm good on this record um apart from that it's awesome

stuff I love the cover art as well um I love the photo that the' yeah rap metal There You Go 1992 Rage Against the Machine just to get that context one of my favorite songs of all time and Killing In The Name damn okay with that said this is a 90 out of 100 yeah it's a 90 the one song that let me down was what what was it again settle for nothing yeah I didn't really like settle for nothing every other song surpass expectations honestly incredible incredible album thank you P Funk for getting me
