I want to specifically thank Ben applebe for suggesting this case Ben I agree with you this man is one of the most dangerous Psychopaths I've come across now on with the video Ben Field is one of the most heartless calculating and manipulative people I've covered on this channel in 2011 Phil befriended a lonely man called Peter Fara who was gay and deeply religious so chosen to remain celibate for all of his life however as He entered his Twilight years he was increasingly scared of spending his old age alone Phil professed his love for Peter and

warmed his way into his life using this man's fear against him over the next four years Phil manipulated abused and gaslit Peter on at least 50 occasions Phil drugged Peter in his own words quote for no other reason other than it was cruel to upset and torment Peter purely out of meanness this turned a former University lecturer into a Shell of his former self a man who was terrified he was losing his mind money was a big motivator for fielded but not as important as him exerting power and control over another human being and he

filmed Peter in his confused drug state for his own Amusement eventually feel tired of Peter and October 2015 plied him with alcohol and suffocated him Phil then immediately began seducing a vulnerable and lonely 81-year-old neighbor of Peters called an Mo Martin who he also manipulated for our money and who was slly also so drugged and he was planning to murder he drew up a list of 100 potential victims who was working his way through and wrote about his fases about killing 50 people in a single night Benfield was eventually convicted for his role in the

death of Peter Fara and received one of the longest sentences for a single count of murder in UK criminal history this was to reflect the absolute inhumanity And calculation of this Psychopathic killer who was clearly working his way up to becoming a serial killer however as we will discuss it's possible he'd already achieve this welcome to evil Among [Music] Us Benjamin Luke field was born on the 27th of October 1990 raised in the market town of Market Harbor in the county of leerer in the East Midlands of England he's a middle child of Enfield Baptist

Minister and Beverly field a former liberal Democrat politician and someone who used to work for age concern field also has a brother called Tom and a sister called Hannah the family were described as deeply religious and they would organize Easter egg hunts and Bible readings in their back Garden however they were also seen as arrogant by some one neighbor later stated quote they seemed aloof as if they thought they were better than us Ian the dad Once told me he was Carpenter like Jesus the family was full of High Achievers there appeared to be an

expectation that each of the children would not merely be a productive member of society but leaders in whatever field they entered it's important to set the scene as we go along in this case to understand what happens next Benfield appears to have been raised in a household where he was taught that he was better than everyone else including having a father who Appears to have drawn some parallels between himself and Jesus Christ this seems to instilled in field the belief that he was Superior to other mere mortals it appears from what I've read intellectual achievement

was placed front and center as a mark of a person's worth emotions and feelings don't appear to been part of his upbringing including compassion empathy or guilt by his own admission Phil stated that none of his relationships even with his own family Members was based on any form of love in this respect he grew up in a cold emotionless and clinical environment believing he was better than everyone else this was reflected in how he acted he was arrogant completely emotionless and lacking any sort of empathy this was the attitude and personality traits that Benfield took

with him to Bishop stopford school where he was an unpleasant and unlikable young man he was described by one former classmate as Quote in love with his own intellect another stated quote he was always a loner and had no close group of friends I was in no ceks he had no particular friend at all not even a best mate there' be times where fil would attempt to socialize with his class mates but only when he wanted something on one occasion he was running for class president and so began talking to other students AC like he

was their friend and cared about them he then lost the Election and never spoke to most of them again relationships to phield was simply transactional if he didn't get anything from people they were of no use to him Phil would spend most of his time in school in the library viciously reading all the way to flexx his intellect to others he would learn Complicated new words words he could slip into conversations all as a way to give the veneer of intellectual superiority in addition he would get Into arguments with teachers during class when he would

apparently correct them on what they were saying however he wouldn't do this in a respectful manner he was always talking down to other people and the teachers would berate him for his arrogance and think he knew better than everyone else Benfield was intelligent but had an overinflated sense of his own ability and whilst his brother took his math say level early and obtained a place at Cambridge University to study music Phil could only dream of reaching these Heights due to his arrogance he was Trent frequently while studying for his a levels and received middling grades

and eventually ended up obtaining a place at Buckingham University reading English literature Phil took his unpleasant and arrogant personality with him to University he was unpopular with other students and lecturers an article written about field contained the following quote for him to Succeed someone else had to fail at University one of his lecturers told me he had a condescending sneer laughing scornfully at other students his contributions in class and rolling his eyes if you didn't think they were up to scratch to be clear there's nothing wrong going to any University in the UK and getting

a degree it's what you do with it that counts but to someone like field being in a family where others especially a sibling while outperforming Him and attending one of the most prestigious seats of learning in the world must have been difficult for him to reconcile what he been taught as a child that he was better than everyone in fact despite his bravado the police later recovered chat logs where field spoke to a friend about his feelings of inadequacy this information is massively important it demonstrates as with most other narcissists that Ben Field deep down

felt unworthy inadequate and his Arrogance and need to continuously demonstrate how great he was with his way of bolstering his self-esteem helping him believe his own lies he was clearly not going to excel academically so Benfield needed some other way to make himself feel powerful to reinforce his delusions of superiority this took two forms which would merge as time progressed the first was compulsive deception field admitted later in court that every single Relationship he'd ever had whether it be with friends or family was built on lies he would lie about everything and anything and come

up with Fantastical stories about his alleged successes clearing claiming he was a playright field became an exceptionally good liar he seemed to Revel in being able to manipulate and exploit people enjoyed the power that lies gave him and the ability to deceive others no doubt inflated his ego Field's second interest Was in elderly people he was spent a significant amount of time reading about euthanasia suicide and loneliness in older men and women as well as ways to access these types of individuals these two threads combined to Benfield deciding that in lie of academic Excellence the

way he was going to prove how Superior he was and to gain power over people was to targeted exploit the elderly while still at University fielded in around 2012 so When he was around 22 years old began working at Red House Nursing Home in the village of maid Morton in the county of buckinghamshire instead of looking after the vulnerable residents Benfield began to abuse them and F film his behavior the police later recovered two of the videos him mocking an elderly woman with dementia these were made in around 2014 I'll read the transcript of one

and play the audio of the other both involv felds shoving the camera into the face Of a female resident with dementia in the first video he's heard to say quote you've had a long life you don't have any friends you've never married and have no children the woman clear in a stage of confusion responds I just want to die to which fil replies you you've got the right to do anything you want you've got the right to die this is the audio of the second clip good morning you seem a little bit out of sorts

to me do you feel a little Bit out of sorts yes you might feel confused because you've got dementia you always used to feel sad didn't you and why do you think you feel sad a lot of the time is that because you were always lonely I expect so and do you feel feel lonely now yes sit back down why did you feel lonely cuz I haven't got anybody you haven't got anybody yes and you don't have any Friends no children why is [Music] that are you kicking that table because of the things that I'm

saying yes is it because of what I'm saying or because of yourself with me with you it's things inside you yes and how can we get them out shut it out shut it right out yes that's good and what happens next kill it out kill it out Yes that's good and what would you do to me touch me what could happen next Benfield filming his crimes and documenting them in written form was part of his arrogance couldn't help but catalog his exploits his record would eventually be his downfall but instead of seeing his behavior as

the pathetic actions of a weak man who could only feel powerful by exploiting the most vulnerable Phil considered everything he Did as further evidence of his superiority another reason why fi apparently wanted to work in a care home was to be around death he leave wrote online about residents who had died and said quote I laid out like 12 bodies I've literally put people in a bag and zip them up we'll never know when Benfield began having homicidal fantasies but I assess that his desire to be around death was likely an indicator that he was

already thinking About this this time the care home I think was not only a way for him to feel powerful by abusing the vulnerable residents but also an information gathering exercise working out how the authorities to the death of an elderly person who noses when they pass away Etc I have no doubt that Benfield targeting the elderly was with a specific awareness that if he killed them less questions would be raised he'd be more likely to get away with his crimes I Presented things slightly out of sequence but I believe it was necessary to outline

the content of the videos shot by Benfield to show his level of evil his contempt for other human beings the sick kick he got from tormenting the elderly however by the time he made these videos in around 2014 field had already wormed his way into the affections of another vulnerable and lonely man Peter Fara who would also film abusing drug and eventually murder All part of his twisted sick plan to wield power over another human being to prove how intelligent he was all the while rebeling in manipulating and tormenting people I need to start this

section saying something I've said on several occasions but it's important there are aspects of this case which may raise eyebrows including age differences between individuals and not seeing red flags I Need to point out that loneliness especially fear of dying alone can lead to people being desperate and potentially making decisions that are not in their best interests at to that if you've never been loved by a partner before you may be somewhat naive please keep this in mind mind when I discuss the main focus of this video Peter Fara and later when I discuss an

more Martin both from everything I've read were very decent human beings who were simply Lonely in particular Peter was clearly the epitome of a gentleman a kind caring man who simply wanted to be loved nothing either of them did or any of the decisions they made meant they deserve to be abused by Ben Field or in the case of Peter to lose his life so please be respectful so Peter Anthony Scott Fara was born on the 3rd of January 1946 in Edinburgh in Scotland although he spent most of his life living in England not much

is reported about Peter's early Life but what is known is that he was academically gifted I was educated at LMA Upper School in Hammersmith in London before earning a place at Churchill College Cambridge to read English where he graduated with a first class degree Peter was a devout Evangelical Christian but he was also gay and he was unable to reconcile his faith with his sexuality and so maintained a celebrate lifestyle throughout his life instead he focused On his main loves the English language and teaching he held a variety of English teaching positions over his 34e

career including spending 12 years between the 1970s and early 1980s at Manchester Grammar School before moving to Stow way remain for 21 happy years between 1983 and 2004 his obituary included the following comments about those who had the joy of being taught by him quote Peter was fragile formal yet friendly precise but not pedantic he had An attractive warmth mixed with intellectual rigor for many students he inspired a love of literature and poetry he would spot people's potential and gently push them to fulfill it despite his old fogy image he had an acute understanding of

the problems of modern adolescent boys for some he became almost like a second Father Peter was a regular worshipper at Stow Parish church for over two decades he was also a published author his first book was Released in 2010 and was somewhat autobiographical as it was about a School Chaplain trying to reconcile his Christian faith with his homosexuality Peter owned a house at three Mana Park in the village of May Morton in buckinghamshire he lived at this dress for years Peter was well loved in his community and valued by his friends and family however he

was also lonely and as he got older his loved ones began Falling Away including in 2002 when his mother who he lived with died Peter became more and more fearful of dying alone never having known what it's like to love someone intimately or for him to experience devotion and affection from someone else un un fortunately Peter could not have known that there was someone who could sense his vulnerability his fear of being alone for the rest of his life and would use this against him to utterly destroy him to Rob him of his intellect and

turn Him into a shell of his former self before killing him Peter met the man who would end his life Benfield in April 2011 when he was a guest English lecturer at the University of Buckingham Peter wrote in his journal quote I took my first lesson with a class at Buckingham University a pleasant enough group if not very responsive as yet except for one clever enthusiastic lad Ben Field he engages and helps make things work he's a Delightful young man as I said earlier narcissist that field is he couldn't help but document his planning and

his crimes these would be as downfall as many of his journal entries emails and online postings were recovered by by the police whil these would be used to convict him they also give us an insight into the mind of a psychopath it's clear from his records that Benfield quickly identified Peter as a potential Target someone who was lonely who he can Manipulate and abuse soon after meeting Peter Phil wrote his journal that he was a prime target because he was quote lonely retired early rattles around the house not really doing anything filling his days he

also made his intentions explicit writing quote it is my own ambition seeking to exploit Peter's desire for companionship Phil began grooming his victim he picked up quickly that Peter was deeply religious and claimed that he Too was a devout Christian obviously nothing could be further from the truth but Phil did have aspirations of being in the church he like other Psychopaths wanted to position which involved him having power over people also given that he clearly wanted to Target the Elder I have no doubt he saw the church not only as a place where he could

control others but also where he could have an abundance of elderly victims he wrote online quote I'm going to become a Vicor And [ __ ] just because I can outmaneuver the church what he specifically meant by this is unclear but I imagine he believed himself so Superior that he could kill anyone he wanted in the congregation and be able to deflect any suspicion from himself Having learned where Peter Fara woried Benfield joined Stow Parish Church where Peter had been attending regularly for 20 years this brought field into contact with Peter he would make a

beine to speak to him but Also to ingratiate himself with other members of the Church community specifically those he felt would not only enable him to form a closer bond to Peter but in the long term give him a foot in the door to gain access to other elderly people over time Phil became a church Warden a volunteer for the church and began the process to become an ordained Vicor this was a long con which extended through 2012 and 2013 all through this time Phi was Pretending that he was struggling with his own feelings of

homosexuality and trying to get Peter to come to terms with his own sexual orientation he hinted that he had feelings of Attraction towards Peter that extended Beyond friendship all part of his deception in reality field later reported to be entirely heterosexual and from 2012 until his arrest in 2018 was in multiple relationships with women often at the same time he manipulated Everyone and anyone he had any form of relationship with he would give various excuses to people he was with to explain his absence with regards to Peter Phil would tell him that he was going

away for training for his job when in fact he was living with one of his girlfriends in early 2013 fileld moved his plan forward he told Peter he needed a quiet place to study and so Peter invited him around to his home at three Mana Park in the village of maids Morton Phil would attend every day he would spent most of the time speaking to Peter he was a master of deception and would attentively listen to everything that Peter said go away and research it to enable him to continue to enamor this lonely man he

presented himself as the center of Peter's World though would go out on days out and fil would tell Peter how much he loved and cared for others Peter wrote in his journal quote please God reward Ben for his goodness to me And others he's taking his job at the care home very seriously as he helps the old people in their dementia he's too close to death and more interested in it than he should be this entry is awful for three reasons firstly as I've already shown Phil was not caring for the people in the care

home he was tormenting them secondly is how Peter unknowingly is picking up on the danger that was was Ben Field Peter is presenting the interesting death the Field has as being a terrible consequence for his selfless job when in fact it was a reflection of his homicidal nature lastly there's the terrible irony of asking God to reward the man who would eventually kill him soon field was given a key so he could come and go as he wished it's liked that soon after getting his foot in the door Benfield decided that he was going to

manipulate Peter into Chang his will and leave his house to him and his sickening Deception moved towards that goal in October 2013 during this month Benfield declared his love for Peter Fara a man over 40 years his senior and said that he wanted to move him with him as the police later commented Peter was enamored with field he was the answer to his prayers the person who had mean he wouldn't die alone his lack of experience of relationships meant he couldn't see the danger he was facing And he didn't question why a man so much

younger than him would want to be in a relationship with him personally I think potentially he did but was too afraid of losing this connection it appears this wasn't a sexual relationship more emotional but it obviously meant the world to Peter Peter wrote in his journal quote we drove to Dun Beacon at the summit Ben said the reason he wanted to live in buckingam was to be with me we hugged and embraced each other I Can't believe this has happened Ben can love me a miracle if ever there was one so Benfield moved in leaving

every now and then with various excuses to spend time with the other women he was seeing he chose the 3rd of January 2014 Peter Fara 68th birthday to seal the bomb between them and move a step closer to the inheritance Peter wrote quote Ben made this an exceptional and wonderful birthday he presented me with a beautiful jet a mother of poem knife he Asked me formally and with great Beauty if we could be betrothed he wanted to be mine I accepted with all my heart a betral ceremony is in intentions of marriage a later date

it's not legally binding in the sense that the marriages however it was the perfect manipulative tool for field to employ this ceremony occurred in March 2014 in West Hamad in London Peter wrote about this Day quote it was one of the happiest moments of my life gone of the Fears of dying alone however Phil could not help but brag online to others about his true feelings towards Peter referring to him as a quote [ __ ] on several occasions but also writing the following quote here and I struck a deal which is I pay for

nothing and will hang out with him until his eventual death win-win I'm pretty comfortable with death it's very important to understand which I think is lost in media reports of this case that Whilst much has been made of Benfield wishing to get his hands on Peter fara's money his primary goal was to torment him and wield power over him Financial game was a happy bonus but what drove Benfield was abusing and manipulating those he considered weak than him this is why this man is so evil almost immediately after moving in with Peter in 2013 Beni

began the campaign of abuse and gaslighting he obtained sedatives Either ordering them from the internet was stealing from the care home and would lace pie drinks and food with this making him uncharacteristically lethargic he also began moving things around in the home hiding Pie's belongings and clothes as well as deleting contacts from his mobile phone he took great pleasure in watching the confusion on Peter's face as he began to question his own sanity in court Phil was asked why he done these things to Peter and he responded quote for no other reason other than it

was cruel to upset and torment Peter purely out of meanness as I said Benfield making a profit from this situation was a secondary objective of his and it's clear that he started planning this soon after moving in police found his journal which showed that his objective for 2014 was to get Peter to change his will this he achieved in November of that year when he found out that Peter changed his Will leaving field half the value of the house and a lump sum of £15,000 which he later increased to £20,000 field knew this because he

opened Pet's mail and once he didn't open he would move around to confuse him field had minip plated Peter into changing his will by convincing him that the effects of him drugging him were in fact evidence of Peter's declining health and the fact he could potentially die soon so he needed to put his Affairs In order however there was a caveat Phil could not inherit anything unless he'd been living in the house for 2 years so his plan to ultimately do away with Peter had to wait until late 2015 this was reflected in the same

Journal recovered by the police in which field written that his sole objective in 2015 was to quote end Peter the police also found a picture of a grave the field had drawn and next to it he'd written quote holds the goal and what Would Benfield do in the meantime he wrote this down too he said he would Gaslight Peter for fun and so we move to 2015 the last months of Peter fara's life with him unaware of the man he was living with who claimed to love him was secretly tormenting him and was just counting

down the days until his death in 2015 Benfield continued to manipulate and abuse Peter Fara between the beginning of the year and his death in October field drugged him at least 50 Times this began predominantly with sedatives he'd bought on the Internet or stolen from the care home he worked out but as time progressed he would buy hallucinogens which caused Peter to suffer horrific and terrifying hallucinations field enjoyed publicly humiliating Peter he was a social man who would go out to dinner parties and on various outings including to the theater Phil would drug him before

he went out so that he would fall asleep be Unable to communicate properly and often make a fool of himself field would often accompany him so he could watch this up close reving in the fact that Peter was becoming increasingly concerned there was something seriously wrong field would also hint at the fact that Peter had developed an alcohol problem and as the months progressed especially in the weeks prior to his death was trying to convince Pet's friends and family that he was an alcoholic even posted this Online Peter was drugged to the point where he

would sometimes fall over causing him to suffer serious injuries he wrote about this in his diary he still had no idea Benfield was the one causing him to deteriorate in this way one entry States quote I've been feeling tired and lethargic for a few weeks and occasionally lost my balance Ben has been so kind obviously Ben didn't care he was getting off on tormenting Peter but his evil is highlighted by this rra That was recovered after his arrest which is as deranged as is disturbing cuz I'm killing this man he in fanticide fantas size of

badest the [ __ ] tribe go against him and now it's time for a Crimson Tide and I'm the king and I will reside on the throne and you know that I can kill this guy field documented his crimes in his journal but just seeing what he was doing and writing about it wasn't enough He needed to video it he needed something he could watch again and again and again to demonstrate to himself how powerful he was so he filmed Peter on at least one occasion whil he was in bed drugged as shown by this

horrifying clip well start saying it again so you don't think Martin um standing on some platform Milton King Central um holding Some uh thing um saying sorry you can't on this TR um I just I feel I am so dependent um it's such a strange world the whole thing because on the one hand um uh I I'm actually used to be sort of competent of course of Course um and theber in in my inations but now I'm a way I'm I'm I'm aare you know they they they're um exchanging very substantial amounts of money um

for um you know a glass of whatever um and um That worries me too okay I don't well um yes where where where is it that do you think they are I'm not I I'm not sure myself so where is it that they're buying these glasses of water they probably AR perhaps not um they probably AR okay and who who are they who who is it that you're worried about my um Um how can I try to explain um it's just um that um Z Peter's journal entries became more obsessing near his death he became

convinced he was losing his mind by July 2015 just 3 months before his murder Benfield increased the dosage of hallucinations that he was drugging Peter with he began having night terrors and hallucinations he wrote about this in his journal quote I saw a hideous pack of black insects a bad thing has entered my brain the impact of the abuse on Peter was clear for all to see when in August 2015 he went to a book launch for his novel which had been written years before only just been published Peter was confused embarrassed and Scared he

was barely able to stay awake was struggling to sign his name in his own book and was slurring his words field was there reing and watching the embarrassment and shame that Peter felt knowing he had caused this as an explanation he continued to push the narrative that behind closed doors Peter was an alcoholic between April and August 2015 Peter Fara attended Hospital several times due to Falls he had as well as occasions where he been Hallucinating or was so lethargic he was unable to function he only stayed in hospital for a short time on each

occasion would improve before going home where the drugging would begin again however remember there was a caveat in Peter's will where Benfield would not inherit anything until he' live with Peter for 2 years this expired in around September 2015 so everything before this point was filled not trying to kill Peter but simply to Torment him to abuse this lonely man after his cut off point field was determined to kill Peter and he'd been setting the groundwork for this for months the sedatives and hallucinations had caused Peter so much depression and fear that he was at

times suicidal field would subtly imply to Peter these symptoms were indicative of dementia Peter was terrified of losing his mind and so Phil kept suggesting that potentially him ending his life was the Best thing to do so essentially Ben Field was trying to manipulate Peter into doing his Dirty Work however whilst Peter was at times suicidal he didn't want to die so when this plan failed Benfield decided to murder Peter Fara in October 2015 it appears there was one unsuccessful attempt to kill Peter before his actual murder on the 3rd of October 2015 he was

admitted to hospital dued being found unconscious in his home By his cleaner he had a dangerously high level of sedatives in his blood as well as a large quantity of gin in his system concerns were raised that this was a suicide attempt and Peter was spoken to but he couldn't remember anything and denied that he was thinking about ending his own life so after a brief down hospital he returned home what in nobly happened was the Benfield a drug Peter whil he was more suggestible had ped him with alcohol and potentially even forc This down

his throat he was inevitably hoping the combination of drugs and alcohol would be enough to kill Peter and left the property however this hadn't worked just a few weeks later bfield would try again and this time he was successful on the 26th of October 2015 the following call was made to 999 by Peter fara's cleaner emergency is a patient breathing Unconscious uh not conscious no no it's not looking Peter okay what's the address there please three Mana Park M the police and ambulance attended and they found Peter Fara dead in his home sitting on his

sofa next to him was a half finished bottle of whiskey Field's manipulation of others had been successful the coroner ruled that Peter farquad died as a result of acute alcohol Intoxication whil drinking at home on his own what actually happened will never be known for absolute certainty but the most likely scenario was that on the 25th of October 2015 Benfield again drugged Peter Fara as he did at the beginning of that month then plied him with alcohol to the point where he was essentially sedated and too drunk to be able to fight back however to

ensure he was successful this time field suffocated Peter by placing some item Likely a pillow over his nose and mouth when he was sure he was dead Benfield then left the property leaving the cleaner to find Peter the next morning the death of Peter Fara was not ruled as suspicious and he was buried the will was settled and Benfield received half of the proceeds of the sale of Peter's house as well as £20,000 in total he inherited £60,000 which he then used to buy flat for himself I find the whole story of Peter Fara so

tragic when I first heard about his murder the one thing I think I held on to was the fact that at least Peter didn't know that someone he loved had been the one to utterly betray him but unfortunately this doesn't appear to be true there's one final detail regarding Peter's death which just makes me so angry which escalates my hatred of Ben Field tfold specifically the police recovered an entry in fieldone journals Which was titled quote ending speeches under which he'd written amongst other things go through Journal I hated you all along and this is

my house the police believed and I'm 100% sure they're right that these were things that Phil was planning to say just before he killed Peter this would be the last torment field reading through the journal which outlined his true sickening feelings towards the man he claimed to love and telling him this House was now his he wanted to see the heartbreaking Peter he wants him to know that he was dying alone and that he'd never achieve what he wanted simply to be loved I have no doubt that field not only did this but also filmed

it the police never recovered such a video I think field would have deleted it but given his OS so far there is no way he wouldn't have used Peter's final moments to utterly destroy him before taking his life hopefully Peter was too sedated and Incapacitated to be able to register anything of what field was saying but it breaks my heart to think that in his final moments he had to hear his killer gloat at him and have his illusions that even for a brief time in his life he'd been the center of someone's world shattered

unfortunately Benfield would remain at large for another two years by the time of Peter's death he already Chosen and begun grooming another elderly and vulnerable person who lived M doors away in around June 2015 Benfield begun searching for another victim another vulnerable person he could manipulate and torment this was four months before the death of Peter Fara and no doubt this search for a new Target was because field had already decided that Peter would soon be dead and he needed to begin on his next project he didn't go far to find his next victim in

fact he targeted an elderly woman who lived in The same street as Peter Just Three Doors Down she she was 81-year-old an Mo Martin Anna was a retired head teacher as well as being extremely religious however she's also very lonely she was not married didn't have any children how field met an is unclear the most likely scenario is that he became aware of her and then made sure he was visible to her on the street when she was going about her day and struck up a conversation with her then began to slip notes Through her

door and come round to hers under the pretense of giving her companionship and helping her out however soon this 24y old man was professing his attraction towards this woman almost 60 years older than him one of these notes said quote when these things have crossed our minds and lips I've been a great deal too shy I have not said as perhaps I should that I desire you a desire to woo you that my Earnest hope is that you would see me as I see you I see as beautiful fun lovely insightful woman of of faith

your tiredness your loneliness and your sadness I'm sure that I could if you allow it these things would need to be replaced your loneliness needs to be replaced with my company your tiredness with my energy and your sadness with our new happiness together what a load of pretentious bollocks but it awakened something in Anne her niece lat reported that Anne Was extremely lonely and like Peter Fara was desperate for companionship in her final days she was terrified of dying alone as soon as Peter died field focused all of his attention on Anne he spent more

and more time at our house and began gaslighting manipulating and abusing her field utterly Twisted an's religious convictions against her he began writing notes on her mirror convincing her that he didn't write this and therefore it Must have been written by God four of these messages read quote all that you give him he will return tenfold your intentions are holy your work is not yet done take care and complete the task given to you by the Lord your soul will proceed directly to Heaven her Soul's Joy his Perfection this good you will can never be

undone peace is yours in me your Lord amen and finally pray for Ben Ben loves you the reason why please know about these messages is because field as He'd done all the way through had to document his accomplishments and so he took photos of these messages which were then used against him him when he was finally apprehended field also gave an this disgusting picture there was a sexal element to this relationship and on one occasion feel convinced an to perform a sex act on him which he then photographed her doing without her knowledge he kept

this no doubt to Blackmail and embarrass her he quickly Began to manipulate her to handing over thousands of pounds in June 2016 feel convinced an to hand over £4,000 for a new car around 3 months later he convinced an to hand over £ 26,700 so that he could apparently buy a dialysis machine which he said his brother needed he would die it was field who made the call to the bank then handed the phone to an to release the funds as shown by this terrible clip um I'm just going to hand you over To uh

um hello I'm thinking of withdrawing all my accounts the money held in my accounts sometime and because um I have an urgent need them I have a very dear friend MH who's the brother of another very dear friend and he is extremely ill he's got very difficult kidney difficulty and and is likely to die if he doesn't have his own dialysis machine and so on I've been thinking of a way in which I can help him he is's a lovely Young man and he's got a lovely brother who's get older than him to to stay

alive he actually has to have this Bal his machine okay he's heartbroken because he can't continue at the moment in life one must not be selfish and um keep everything to yourself if this investment was worth it I think it would be a great help for them in court Phil was asked how we con down into giving you money and he responded quote I pretended to love her When I didn't so that's how I did it when asked what he done with the 26,700 he'd received feel coldly and arrogantly quipped quote well I certainly didn't

buy a dialysis machine I spent it what a monster Phi was not stupid he convinced an not to tell her family about him as they wouldn't understand their love in court Benfield was cold and detached when asked questions about Anne remember he was professing his love to her but in court When asked about his true feelings about her he responded that they were quote very close to indifference there's sufficient evidence in my opinion that Benfield was planning to do exactly the same thing to Anne that he' done to Peter he was going to get her

to change her will then ensure that she dies police found handwritten notes of his calculating how much he would receive from her death evidence was also found that he been researching methods of Suicide he'd discussing this with Anne convincing her potentially this was something she may want to consider if if her health began to fail Benfield likely started drugging an towards the end of 2016 she had several contacts with doctors and suspicious of raise about the presence of a young man during every contact taking the lead in every phone call and being there each time

Anne had a medical issue she also had at least one seizure which led to her being Admitted to a hospital I'm unsure of the exact date of this but it appears that a care of founder in this state and called an ambulance field was there and they were instantly suspicious of him as he seemed less interested in getting help for Anne and more concerned about coming up with some story about why she was unwell that didn't involve any link to him the beginning of the end for Benfield came on the 4th of February 2017 when

Anne suffered a seizure the Following call was made to 999 the person making the call was the same Cara who found on the previous occasion anded he makes it plain who he thinks is [Music] responsible hello what's happening in there I think she may well have had the similar sort of seizure she was last time a seizure and this is her home address the six Man Apart the person who was here last time has been here Today so we we're concerned that this person may be administering something you're concerned that whoever's been in today to

see her is as possibly given her something yeah when am in hospital her niece spoke to her she'd already become aware of Benfield but didn't know who he was or what role he played in her aunt's illness the floodgates opened and Anne told her niece everything the messages from God the money she'd given him the Fact they were in love and in addition that she'd recently changed her will to leave him all her money and her house an's niece was horrified and she called the police to report that she believed Benfield was cing her aunt

the police began the investigation into field and quickly established he was linked not only to an Mo Martin but also Peter farquar there were concerning Paradox between the two cases the police spoke to Anne and she told them everything but Also said that Ben had given her a white powder on more than one occasion whilst investigations were ongoing Benfield was barred from having any contact with Anne the police and her family had the difficult task of explaining to her that she' been conned by Benfield that he was a Serial liar and whilst in a supposed

relationship with her had been in relationships with other women and initially one of her neighbors and quickly changed their will back on the 13th of March 2017 Benfield was arrested for the first time initially on suspicion of fraud however even at this early stage the police knew this was something far bigger they release fied on baale whil they continued their investigations and more Martin was heartbroken by the real ization that she'd been Conn by field she felt foolish embarrassed and abused she died heartbroken on the 12th of May 2017 at age 83 her death was

ultimately ruled to Have been due to natural causes but I think Benfield broke her spirit and therefore he killed her as part of benfield's original arrest in March 2017 on suspicion of fraud relates to more Martin the police seized a huge amount of material from fields's home as part of that investigation this included detailed notes and journals which were a treasure Trope of incriminating evidence as the lead detective DCI Mark Glover stated Quote it wasn't in chronological order like most Diaries it was more like a notebook there was thoughts ideas what he'd done all those

kind of things the amount of material we sees in house searches was phenomenal it's not just what I call physical material but digital material as I said before it was filled with arrogance and his need to document his crimes which would be his downfall quickly the seized evidence linked an more Mar in piz of Fara there Were clear parallels the gaslighting suspicions of drugging changes of will in both parties things became more Sinister the more they looked ultimately the investigations been filled by TS Valley police involved a huge team who operated under the code name

operation nasby they spent thousands of hours reading through his journals watching the recordings he'd made and up picking his lies and his cold calculated offending the police re-examined the Investigation into Pete fara's death and took the decision to exume his body 2 years after he died toxicology results of hair strand tests show traces of sedatives and hallucinogens indicating he' been exposed to large quantities of these repeatedly in the months prior to his death in addition Ben fil's fingerprint was found on a glass the room where Peter's body had been found which he apparently used to

drink the alcohol that killed him this suggested That Peter had not been alone at the time he died however it was his own words and writings which would benfields his undoing things like his disgusting rap his pcture for a gravestone and explicit comments that he wanted Peter Fara dead finally the police decided they had enough evidence and Benfield was arrested just before 6:30 a.m. on the 18th January 2018 this arrogant little [ __ ] yawned while sat in the back of the police van And said quote I think I'll get away with most of it

clearly this poor excuse for a man thought he was so clever that they would easily talk his way out of it he was wrong the police presented everything and field had no answer he gave no comment responses to the questions asked of him in interview however the crown prosecution service decided there was enough evidence to charge Benfield with the murder of Peter Fara as well as conspiracy to murder Amore Martin attempting to murder her as well as defrauding both of them he was remed into custody to a waste his facing Court Ben Phil pleaded not

guilty to the murder of Peter Fara as well as conspiracy to murder and the attempted murder of Amore Martin he did plead guilted to frauds related to both of them specifically gaining £160,000 from convincing Peter to change his will and trying to obtain Anne's 300,000 home as well as him receiving £30,000 for a car And a fictitious dialysis machine from her it's important to point out that Benfield also stood in the dark charged with burglaries related to other elderly people he pleaded guilty to these offenses but I'll leave discussing these crimes until the next section

where outline concerns that Fielder targeted other elderly people as well as questioning whether he already achieved his obvious fancy but becoming a serial killer but for now I'll focus on the Crimes against Peter and Anne Field's trial began at Oxford Crown Court on the first of May 2019 and lasted 10 weeks the prosecution methodically presented the evidence in this complex case they showed the way that Benfield manipulated both Peter Fara and anal Martin getting off on the power he wielded over both of them the jury was shown the contrust in the Diaries of Peter and

field with Peter Rising B his love for his new companion and his hopes for the future Whilst field was documenting the systematic abuse of this vulnerable man and drawing a grave with quote HS the Go written next to it arrogant statements such as fi telling the police he thought he get away with most of his crimes also came back to haunt him Benfield gave evidence during his trial this was bizarre as field essentially confirmed everything the police were saying about him he stated that he manipulated both Peter and Anne and that he specifically Drugged Peter

and he appeared extremely proud he was a practice liar who lived his life by deception Phil showed absolutely no remorse or concern for either pach or Anne was giving evidence he showed himself to be a cold calculating killer I've read a few articles which question the defense strategy in this case I think this is missing the point defense barristers in murder cases are extremely experienced legal professionals with years of Training they know what they're doing however they cannot control everything including a client who is a narcissist and who's desperate to demonstrate to everyone how intelligent

he is I imagine that Benfield was an extremely difficult client he was neverly thoroughly briefed on what to say and what not to say but probably arrogantly got on the stand and did what he wanted to do show off this thankfully helped seal his fate his demeanor callousness and the weight of The evidence against him meant on the 9th of August 2019 the jury found Benfield guilty of the murder of Peter farquar Unfortunately they were unable to reach a unanimous verdict regarding him attempting to murder anal Martin or conspiring to end her life and so

he was acquis in these offenses I find this really upsetting however I've seen there was far less concrete evidence regarding Anne's case but as I've said in my mind he essentially killed her by destroying Her spirit and breaking her heart on the 18th of October 2019 Benfield was back at Ox the Crown Court before Mr Justice Sweeney for sentencing this had given time for psychiatric reports to be completed Justice Sweeney referenced these documents in his sentencing remarks which indicated that Benfield displayed traits of narcissism and psychopathy specifically he was a man who was entirely self-absorbed

belied he was better than everyone else who had no Remorse or guilt for his actions and absolutely no empathy for his victims Justice Sweeney fully outlined the horrific list of offenses committed by Ben Field his years of deception the the depths of his inhumanity he stated that Phi had a quote need to deceive and Destroy others and then added you also kept notes and journals about what you were planning and what you had done and he did so the pleasure that that gave you before going on to say I have no Doubt that you are

a dangerous offender he then sentenced him for the murder of Peter Fara Benfield was sentenced alive imprisonment with a minimum tarff of 36 years before he can apply for parole this is one of the long longest sentences imposed in the UK for a single count of murder means that Benfield will not be eligible for parole until around 253 when he would be in his early 60s field has twice tried to appeal his conviction both times he's been Refused the one decent thing that Phil did and used that ter Loosely is that he sold his flat

which he bought using the money con out a piece of Fara and this was Return to his family although it was not the full amount and I question whether this was done voluntarily they received £24,000 £36,000 less than the money he'd originally received however no amount of money would bring Peter back disturbingly the police recovered a List of 100 names that Benfield had compiled this was his list of future victims and including elderly people from the care home from the church and even his own family members who was apparently going to abuse drug and kill

one by one he also wrote about his fantasies about killing 50 people in one day the police also found a list of various methods of murder researched by field including car crashes unwitting overdoses and quote unquote accidental Heart failure during sex it's clear that Benfield had aspirations of being a serial killer however had he already achieved this along with the more serious charges Benfield appeared in the dock for burglary they him breaking into a property belonging to a couple called Harold and elain mein they'd been the next door neighbors of Amal Martin both were apparently

known to Benfield and Elaine died suddenly in February 2015 after drinking a cup of tea Harold then Died in February 2016 after a fall down the stairs field broke into their home in July 2016 after both had passed away apparently simply to steal a bottle of whiskey the police was suspicious another elderly couple known to field who lived on the same street as his other two victims had passed away with one doing so suddenly however the bodies of both Elaine and Harold mein were crated so it likely never be known if there was Foul Play

the thing I'm most Concerned about is what Benfield was up to at Red House nursing home he worked there for several years and I for one of struggling to believe they didn't harm any of the residence there it's clear his only purpose working there was to get access to vulnerable people his own videos show that he tormented at least one resident I think it's extremely naive to believe given how evil this man is the two videos recovered with the extent of his abuse I also find it very Unlikely that while surrounded by potential victims with

access to medication he didn't drug any of them he had the perfect cover some of these people had dementia if he drugged them it's like they wouldn't be able to remember this and he could explain away any symptoms as being pass their condition so you have an evil man who deliberately placed himself in a position with vulnerable victims or which to believe they didn't harm or Kill any of them does that seem likely to you this should be filled as his typology of victim he chose elderly people and so if they died it's likely their

death would have been put down to natural causes so who's to say whether any of the elderly people in knew in the community or in the care home who died were amongst his victims the police were able toid identify at least two other potential victims who were still alive one of them Elizabeth zettle became the Oldest witness to give evidence of a criminal trial in the UK at the age of 101 she lived a short distance away from both Peter Fara and anore Martin she was befriended by field and the police were able to determine

that he'd obtained a key to her house without her knowledge and also a copy of her will again she had no idea about this it seems that Phil was in the early stages of planning to get her to her will and then inevitably he would have killed her the Other person was a friend of Peter faras called Jonathan Elman who was 83 years old field was convicted of breaking into his property to steal antique rifles again it seemed he was grooming him as a potential victim Benfield is one of the most heartless cruel and Psychopathic

offenders I've covered on this channel it's hard to stay objective with this case as I utterly despise people like him those who Target the vulnerable Whether this be children people with disabilities the elderly Etc I think it takes a special type of monster to victimize the most vulnerable in society with regards to the elderly they've lived their lives likely contributed much more to society than someone like Benfield ever will and they're entitled to live their remaining years in peace unfortunately it seems the Mantra respecting your elders falls on deaf ears in the case of people

like field Ben Field is an utterly despicable man in court he was shown to be what he is a narcissist and a psychopath however on top of this he's clearly a sadist he was a man who grew up in an environment where it appears as a belief of superiority over others was common simply being born into his family meant he was entitled to look down on other people respect and admiration was not something to be earned it was something he was entitled to and others should Recognize it however deep down as he admitted online he

felt inadequate his brother ended up at Cambridge he got middling grades at a level I imagined that his classmates were quite pleased that this arrogant self-absorbed idiot who disrup classes just to make himself feel important had failed his failure I think likely meant that he felt embarrassed and his feelings of inadequacy increased potentially within the home all talk was about his brother Look how he's doing the to prove to everyone especially himself how powerful and Superior he was increased and he decided to show everyone just how intelligent he was how Phil came to see the

elderly as a Target is unclear but I imagine it began with his experiences with his father who was a minister this would have brought him into contact with church congregations I've been around these same types of people and it always struck me how elderly the majority of These people were and also how many of them were just looking for comfort obviously I didn't think wow I could exploit these people but my mind doesn't work the same way as Ben Fields I think this is where he started he realized that some of these people were desperate

they had no one and were just looking for answers he wanted the power over these people the ability to manipulate and toy with their emotions exploit their desperation he positioned himself In a care home and abused the residents how clever he must have felt getting his foot in the door smiling sweetly pretending to air when all the while his whole intention was to use these vulnerable people to bolster his self-esteem I imagine that Phil got a massive kick from watching the distress in these patients faces knowing they would likely not remember the abuse and therefore

be unable to report it whilst we see Ben feel for who he is a weak Pathetic Coward of a man who in order to make himself feel big targeted the most vulnerable to him every lie every time he Abus a residence at the C at home increased his feelings of superiority the man was in his own mind an absolute genius he was doing this right under people's noses and N was any the wiser how stupid were they how clever am I so he sniffed out vulnerability and came across Peter Fara as I said before this

man was nothing less than a gentleman And Phil took his fears and use them against him Peter was not a man who simply wanted to be loved he was to field a project someone to use abuse and utterly destroy he loved the fact that this man feared he was losing his mind and he was the cause of it his sadism is so extreme that I have no doubt as I said that Peter's final moments involved this monster looking him in the face and telling him that everything was a lie one last indignity one last stab

in the Heart he then moved on to Amal Martin financial gain with her became more of a focus as he realized just how how much money he could make from his crimes but the core of his offending was the need to control to abuse to manipulate he exploited her faith posting messages from God on the mirror he then sat back and watched with Glee as she utterly fell for his deception unfortunately I was unable to include clips of Benfield at the police station as this footage is In a documentary but I cannot take clips from

I will leave a link to it in the description but his arrogance just oozes from him he doesn't show any emotion and sus us around without caring the world no doubt in his head he thought I'm smarter than everyone the police are idiots they've arrested me I could just talk myray out of this also while I'm at it the BBC did a drama on this case called the sixth commandment I'll leave a link to that in The description as well field had to document his crimes there was no point in any of this if he

couldn't catalog how smart he was no doubt he reread these documents and watch video of himself abusing the vulnerable again and again and again to keep reinforcing to himself how much of a God he was but these trophies would be his undoing what was going through Ben fields's mind of course is unclear I think he has utter contempt for anyone and everything I Think he didn't think much about being convicted he was more focused on showing off he had a captive audience he had a stage he was headlining everyone needed to know who they were

dealing with a criminal genius so he went through every horrific thing he did his last curtain call before a lifetime in prison I think the field thought even if he was convicted he could worm his way out of this on appeal I think this is clearly the case as I've read his appeals and They're huge lightly directed by him trying to use any loophole and any magic combination of words to get his conviction overturned I sincerely hope that as the years have gone by the slow cold realization of his situation has crept over him him

that he will at the very least spend more time in prison than he's been alive and at worst die behind bars I hope it's dawned on him he's not as clever as he thinks he is and that in years to come all of his Cruel statements will be sass in front of a parole board who will decide whether he's ever released is Benfield a serial killer I don't know I'll leave that for you to decide if he wasn't already would he have become one had he not been caught absolutely I think he had the potential
