The British Public Support the Monarchy!

heard so many people say recently they sort of refer to polls about public support for the monarchy they say well I know you're a republican Alex but don't you know that more than 50 percent of people are in favor of keeping the monarchy and I think well that's great if that's the case why don't we make it official how about we do some kind of poll of the electorate I don't know and maybe if they want to keep Charles as head of state then we keep them if they don't they don't wouldn't that be a

novel idea the irony of trying to legitimize an undemocratic institution by definition by reference to public support I find it quite laughable
