Our consciousness can scan our own body and actually shift the very sensory system that's receiving this information from the environment which ties into how we create the world sometimes as people are scanning their body if they're really actually going into all their senses and not just our thinking mind like huh our mind can trick us yes and it can say like no that's not Really an issue no i don't really feel it there but you're saying that we gotta step into like words sounds colors light feeling and do you see our hands as being prior
part of that primary tool for those that are listening on the podcast on audio and not on the video you know earlier you were using your hands to kind of like scan is our are our hands a primary tool of sourcing i mean i think our hands can to me it They can operate like because we use our hands to sense the world so much like we reach out to things and we touch we're not in order to feel more you have to actually allow things to come in because your sensory system's picking up information
it's coming through your sensory receptors and it's coming into your nervous system and your brain is making up meanings and assessing what that is But we're not reaching out into the world and pushing against things to push on them to feel we're allowing that information to come back into our bodies so the hands act as like a almost like a stethoscope where you can place them on different parts of your body and allow yourself to receive yourself like little antennas which i also find is very useful because while you're doing this scanning and Checking it
on your body another thought can come in which is what i want to eat for lunch and that like disrupts you another thought comes in which is like this is super weird i hope i hope nobody's looking at me and then you like lose it you lose that connection and it's like it's it's it's it's um where we get tripped up and where conditioning comes in and where beliefs Come in and think is that our and the activity of the mind comes in is that we can be completely conceptual about an experience that we're actually
not having because if we were to have the experience it would just be liberated energy would be flowing but because we have a judgment or or observation about what might be there it keeps us in this separation from the actual experience or feeling of our body So for example like i let's say my shoulder's hurting and i have all these theories about why it might be hurting and i'm visualizing i'm seeing like maybe it's the tendon maybe there's a tear in the rotator cuff or maybe it's like all all these reasons oh i was doing
push-ups i was doing my you know my headstands and yoga whatever i was doing And instead of just like putting my hand on my shoulder and taking a breath and feeling the tissues there noticing the quality there and seeing if i visualize or see any colors or some shape or something that i'm i'm thinking about it and i'm kind of jabbing at it like oh wonder what is wrong with this physical mechanical thing here instead of interfacing with the energy and the information that i can tune into if i just Take the story about it
being a solid thing that's because of this or that and i just opened myself up to just explore what's the experience without what's the experience of the energy there what's the experience of the movement there what's the experience of breath does it move in there can i stay present with it and i set all of the stories about it aside for a moment and just feel and this is called somatic awareness Basically it's it's feedback from the body without a story or a judgment and just listening to and tuning into [Music] noticing what what shows
up on the radar of my conscious mind when i stop trying to do something to this because i might touch my shoulder and i have an agenda to make this go away which is usually especially achievers right it's like i want to get out there and do Whatever i want to do i want to i want to be working out if i'm not working out the tone in my body is not going to be where i want it to be and if the tone of my body is not where i'm going to you know want
it to be then i'm going to be depressed right you could have a whole thing built up around why you need to push yourself even starting from the standpoint of like there's this pain and it's wrong instead Of like okay why is this here what story is my body telling me what story is the energy telling me yes what is the narrative behind this because as soon as we even start off from a place of this thing is wrong i need to fix it we i've already placed a judgment yeah for sure i mean pain
is really you could simplify it down to just be like hey pay Attention that's your body telling you hey pay attention and something needs to change in some somewhere in some dimension on some level if it's a stove that your hands on it it's like hey pay attention you need to pull your hand away if it's a low back pain and it's chronic and you can't seem to find what it's tied into physically mechanically you Know there's tension there but it's like you did the x-ray you did the mri it's not not really going away
you're like what is this then it might and it's still persistent it might be telling you like hey there's something going on in your relationship or something going on in your the way you're you know approaching and stressing about finances or there could be There's like actual research on that low back pain in men and women but financial stress job dissatisfaction relational stress high correlation on the social sciences side with that those types of pain in the low back why i mean you could there you could speculate all kinds of reasons you could say maybe
it's the first and second chakra energetic centers you know where they're tied into survival and Tied into your sexuality and you know like we could use whatever maps or models we want to bring in from whatever traditions which i've i've been open to i'm like okay well what is what what did 5000 years ago they say in the vedic texts you know what what about the neuroscience that's out now like what about the uh biochemistry of this what's going on with it you know so i want to like take All that in and then see
where can we use wisdom and also science from different methodologies and stuff to kind of bring together a model that supports and allows us to be more empowered in the way that we move about the world and how we experience our body and the world and one way that we can lean away hack our own system is recognize that we have the ability to Interface with the very system that's experiencing the reality that we're experiencing so it's like our consciousness can scan our own body and have an interaction with and actually shift the very sensory
system that's receiving this information from the environment which is ties into how we create the world so we have this like really what It's called some people call it a strange loop of consciousness we're observing and as we observe we're changing the very mechanisms through which we observe so we have a lot of power on a small level you know and there's all these little tiny ways that i think that you know your work has been great and the conversations that we've had that i become more present to the Different ways that i store energy
in my body and even prior to having met you like little kind of indications because everybody notices they're very subtle but you kind of notice these small things about your body about where there is discomfort you might have labeled it as this but you can sense through the lens of this conversation that there's stagnation of some sort And i notice for example for me that when i have to uh let somebody down for example if i have to tell somebody information that i perceive is going to let them down which i can't possibly know this
is my own projection so let's say somebody might want to come on this podcast and for whatever reason i've just decided i've done too many episodes on that topic or You know i just don't i don't want to do it yeah i often find that because i hold a lot of the stagnation in my stomach and my gut in my gut which is interestingly enough when you did your session on me i felt like a little bit of a spiraling i spent a little bit of spiraling like my girlfriend asked me like how was the
session i was like i got kind of like a little bit of like A slow moving tornado in my gut and like things were just moving even though i didn't like move around like a crazy amount or anything i felt that okay so we i mean again we can just put different lenses and maps and models on this but you could say like i'm not saying this is why but that area in in uh in like the yogic invaded kind of tradition is like the third energy center or third Chakra which is tied into the
will it's also tied into boundaries and setting boundaries and holding boundaries and how we say like yes or how we say no and where we feel like we have to take responsibility for something or we feel like we are the are are not able to hold that that line with something you know and then you have this got intuition right and you have this Situation where you're like dealing with do i say no to you know i need to say no to this person but i don't want it you know it you know again that's
that's not it's not like in my way of looking at things that's not why but it's like it's interesting correlation it's like here's that area here's the area that's tied in you know so you see there's a narrative you're saying you're basically seeing there's a Narrative yeah and what anecdotally sometimes i would do is i would not sit down when making that decision even if i was writing to somebody i'd stand up i try to get things moving because when you're sitting it's kind of like compressed and i actually found that it's sometimes harder for
me to deliver what i consider to be bad news or tough news for somebody else Sitting down because i already feel stagnant there and now i'm compressing it and so i'd stand up and i would just sort of like put my hand on my my uh belly yeah and i might rub a little bit or i just might put it there and that would call it whatever you want to but just i would feel like that kind of would give me sometimes the courage to just move through it Now growing up just to kind of
connect this is that um i became clear after many years ago doing a lot of different work tony robbins landmark education many different things that were out there is that one of the insecurities that i would keep up was this feeling of like i had to always be there for people because when i was younger i moved around a lot and i was always the new Kid and i didn't always feel like people were there for me so there was an insecurity uh and then uh basically a survival mechanism which is be there for everybody
else because people weren't there for you but then the good and bad of that sometimes you feel like you have to be there for people when you don't want to be there And then stagnant energy that create gets created from it and then just the cycle of playing into it and not being aware of it much later in life i became aware of it and started to un like kind of sometimes consciously catch myself in that moment but that was just my own way of saying like how i've related to your work and even in
having my session with you how i noticed that that was the area That i had the movement yeah i mean that that is like an anchor you know that that usually will have a will have a region of the body or regions where they're more symptomatic for us so some people it's like throat or some people with lung stuff or some people it's you know in their low back or your gut you know you'll have sort of patterns And when you have when you adapt yourself to a situation because what is authentically true for you
and what you would like to be doing or how you would like to be expressed is overridden because it wasn't okay or wasn't safe or we just didn't have the resources and the body got triggered and now we're not we're not happy with what we're doing like we're like we're not let's say as a little kid And you you look what you want to do is go run and play in the park and what you had to do is sit and like do this homework and and you're you're just you're not happy in your body
is tense and you're in reaction is that to say that we should just go let kids play and not do homework no it's but it's helping that maybe a child to understand that like hey your body wants to express and do This make the sound go have a fit you're still going to do the homework but like let it express out get it out of your body and then you'll be able to move through the homework so much faster because you'll be in a flow state and you can go play but like it's understanding that
we got to allow the expression of what is really being felt to move through our bodies as movement and sound and actually energy flow or it Will build up and when it builds up systems start altering their function so i shared my example i think it'd be great there was an example of a woman that i think you had worked with her before the show and she came in as a testimonial on the goop lab and i believe she was an entrepreneur now and she had a story about um about living with a bunch of
people And kind of like where her stress came from does this ring a bell i'm trying to remember yeah can you tell me a little bit more uh she was um on there sharing a testimonial i think she was the founder of like some organic company that was there uh and she had met you a while ago and she's an entrepreneur now and very successful but she was on the verge of like a relationship ending anyways we can go back Is there is there another example so we'll forget about her and if you want to
watch her story you can go watch it yeah and we'll have a link to netflix and people can check out that episode is there another example where you can kind of tie everything together that you were talking about the same way that i showed the analogy of a past patient or somebody that shared their story that you've worked with About how their energy was kind of related to this narrative of suppressing something in their life yeah i mean i mean there's so many stories but like um i've had people um where their whole well i
mean i had one so things can happen really quickly if you're if you're like if you're really ready to to unhook from the whole pattern that you've been Holding maybe sometimes your whole life i've had people you know they on the extreme side this is this is this is an extreme case but it's happened multiple times where i i worked with a woman one time who she was a young woman she was like early probably mid-20s about 25. she was going to college in northern california she was a she had a fiance she had um
um a job that she was in and she had a Whole life set up around this trajectory that was really not at all congruent with what she really wanted but she was literally living the life that her parents you know told her that she needed to do you need to go to college you need to do this you need to do that so she was living for everyone else now when we And then the relationship she was in it was like she wasn't really in love with the person but it was like he was the
fit like he matt he checked all the boxes on paper but her heart and her soul was not you know engaged with it with him her just her mind was and the classes she was taking was was not a major that she was really wanting to do but she was doing it because she was supposed to do it and so one she Came into my office with back pain and her body was twisted like i mean when she was laying on the table her right leg was like a inch shorter her pelvis was twisted relative
to her low back and so you had all this like bound up tension in her body but it was like it was energy that was all bound up there because her body had been in this torqued up adapted state to living a life that was totally Incongruent with her life and i recognize because that pattern shows up and when people are that particular pattern shows up when people are um kind of overriding their authentic experience and what they're really feeling and like being the person they should be she had this idea of like really what
she felt she wanted her life to be but she was living another life for other people or other ideas or Society exactly so to do that to like put her being in a into that box for other people she had to contort herself physically and energetically so she was all twisted her her you know you could look at her on the table and you could see that she was her you know her legs were going kind of off to the side her pelvis was high way higher the right leg was shorter there was this whole
thing So i i started to work with her and i just i didn't even touch her body i just went into the field around her body and i could feel there are different levels or layers of the energy system it's kind of like those nested russian dolls that are like inside of each other where the physical body would be the densest layer and then there's a shell and another shell and another Cell it's not quite so delineated with the subtle body because it's subtle there there isn't like a delineation point where you know that's the
line between the life force and then the emotional body it's it's it's all kind of like a it's happening in a way kind of a subtle dimension that we are still hopefully you know we'll have instrumentation that can measure this Stuff in the coming years measure these different kinds of energies or or frequencies that we can't quite pick up yet but i've learned to feel those so i was in a layer off the body which is kind of it's more tied into the field of the mind um i know a lot of people know biologist
bruce lipton who talks about um the biology of belief and he talks about The the the how consciousness is really kind of we're receiving something from outside our bodies yeah or dr dan siegel who's been a guest on this podcast before talks about interpersonal biology that the mind is in the body yes and we have to look at it that way so when you are feeling this field and the different layers of it Like the russian doll example um are you feeling it you know i we primarily get to see you using your hands interacting
with the field but are you feeling it throughout your field i'm through i'm feeling i'm interacting my field and her field are interacting i mean heart math has done some research on this where you're looking at the the you can have dissonance or you Can have coherence in your own field and someone else's and you can go in sync with their heart rhythm your brain waves can sync up or entrain to their heart rhythm and the person whose heart actually is more coherent it's in a more coherent rhythm and they're more connected they will entrain
or they will bring along the person who's Less coherent into their field and they will start to entrain them to their frequency yeah which could be also related to like the energy that the mitochondria give off yes with the highest concentration of mitochondria in our heart yes and the mitochondria are literally like our energy yes pack they are the things creating energy inside of our body so everything is energy i mean we're Seeing each other here it's you know little photon packets of energy information wave particle duality hitting you know that's like hitting our eyes
so high our eyeballs going in and through the retina and then our optic nerve and then our brain is making up a meaning and then we're projecting something back out here that's all it's all energy this is what we're hearing is is waves vibrations hitting the tibanic Membrane of our ears and it's vibrating something our brains making up a meaning so while i'm working with this woman and i'm working around her body and i'm in that field i'm observing i'm observing her on the table i'm feeling the field around her body where i feel the
most rapport so like that sense of being stared at we were talking about earlier or the sense of being in a space with someone where they come a little too Close and you're like you're a little bit in my space right or they're a little bit far away where it's a little weird you don't feel that connected with them there are like distances and things that we're measuring and calibrating constantly in our sensory system in our energy system and that's like these interactions of the field so i'm like i'm interacting with her Field i'm feeling
not just with my hand i'm using my hand almost like a gauge but it's not like i'm doing something or taking something and i'm feeling it with my whole awareness but i'm using this as a way to kind of feel where about off the body is i do i engage with her and then as i start to work with in this case i went into the field that's tied more into her mind and i saw and this is where it gets Like how can this happen where we can just hold the hand here and then
the body moves like this this is a leap but i i suspend the experience of her as a solid object of the body and her as a personality identity as a solid person that she is this person and i kind of travel into my consciousness into this place where i would i'm i'm expanding beyond the 3d world Like so i'm doing this all in in my visualization and my internal experience and i'm going beyond the visual in the 3d world and i'm going beyond even time because time is also an illusion it's like linear time
at some point when we go beyond it into the next dimension time is the fourth dimension so third dimension is the volume of our bodies in our world fourth dimension is time so the ability To move about in linear time we can't just like go to the future and go to the past and move about because we're locked in the 3d world but the fourth dimension is time if anyone saw interstellar the movie with matthew mcconaughey um in that movie they go into a portal they go into like a a black hole wormhole and they're
moving about and he's able to move about in the fifth Dimension in that movie they do it they do it uh they do a great piece on that at the end where he's able to move about in time just like we can move about i can walk out this door go down the street get a you know get a glass of water come back um and i've moved about in the 3d space but if you could actually move about in time and go to any point in time you would have to You would you would
have to have transcended somehow this 3d body now let's get a little abstract but if you go a level up you can go to the fifth dimension which would be what's called in physics superposition that's the mathematics superposition is the all possible sort of versions and times and realities of within that goes beyond time they all exist at once And so there would be like multiple versions all existing of you throughout all different times and if i could kind of bring myself whether i'm imagining it whether i'm actually traveling there i'm actually in my experience
traveling there and i'm seeing that she no longer is just that version of her on the table with this distorted pelvis intention there and i'm seeing her as like all the Possibilities of who she can be so we might just say i walk up to the person and i see them as the unlimited possibility of who they could possibly be and i approach her to say how can i help that most elevated most energized most conscious most capable version of her show up and i'm going to interact with her in a way that allows that
person to show Up in a way and so they the conditioning kind of falls away because when you're seeing some something it's like mirror neurons right it's like i'm seeing her in the possibility and her nervous system goes i'm held in a field of possibility and like all these things could start to happen now the mechanisms of that how that exactly works Will will be revealed i mean more and more as as we talk more and more as we study more and more about how consciousness and energy and physical matter all like interplay but it
happens reproducibly repeatedly over and over approaching something with pure possibility opens up the the the system to be more receptive and more responsive and things start changing And then when you get technical and you get in and start to work with more specific vectors of force directing energy in certain ways you get an even more precise response and you can start to like have this interaction and so with her this we're going to keep it back to the original question but this woman um her i went into the field around her body And i just
was holding that perspective of her the highest possible version of her i'm approaching her i'm vectoring a force into seeing how her body could most be most receive that information it's like how can i get the maximum rapport like what would be the way that i could touch her body or touch or work in her field that would be so it would be it would just it would be like oh Finally somebody sees me and i can relax and so as i did that her whole body began to shake her whole pelvis began to unwind
and the she was sobbing all the her spine was cracking and popping i wasn't touching her but it was as i was just interacting with the field and then i touched a couple points to help anchor it and her whole body completely cleared and she was In a puddle of tears and but all the tension was out of her body and was like she was laying totally straight on the table and she was like i don't know what just happened this happened all in about like 15 minutes i don't know what happened but whoever that
was laying on the table i don't even know who that was like i i see and recognized it was like some version of me that was all torqued up but somehow i was trapped in that Reality and i feel like i'm in this other reality and i'm watching and seeing that i'm not that anymore i'm still me but it's like i was this kind of reduced version of me she went home and she was like you know i had i had a conversation with with my my fiance and i was like you know what we
love each other but we don't love each other and he was like yeah you know What we were totally trying to force this and they they like decided to just like part ways but like stay friends they um she was like these classes i'm taking this is this is not for me this is for my parents she she literally got back into realignment in her life she got realigned and she dropped out of those classes she um she ended up um telling her parents for the first time Like this is what i really want to
do she ended up signing up for like a culinary institute in italy and she within like a few weeks she had moved to italy and she had i got i got this was like one session and then i got a email from her a little down the road that she was like living this amazing life and like everything had changed but everything was like effortless now like Her whole life had been effort and everything was effortless and it wasn't like oh i did some miracle thing that changed it's like something happened in that interaction where
she was able to see herself in a way that everything really was possible but the conditioning was like a dampened down distorted version of that that she had lived her life in and that Made it not possible because she was she couldn't escape the gravity of that heavy kind of blanket of conditioned energetic and consciousness like encoding that had happened in her life and we just kind of created the possibility and then the body just starts liberating because it's like it's like you uh you let out a dog that's been in a little they're crated
in their little kennel and then You like let them out into the park and they're just like whoa you know they just like they go crazy they get to express and so um it was like that for her it was just like i can live and so that's that would be a dramatic case of a one you know a one-off like one session sometimes it's a lot it's a more repetitive process where someone you're first let's just find Your body you're totally disconnected from your body you don't even know you have a body you're just
walking around as like a mind with appendage of a body dragging behind you and we got to get you back into your body get you connected and then you could start to have a better assessment and association with what do i need and what do i what do i want even you might be working Out so hard but the working out is like not actually getting you more connected it's actually helping you stay disconnected some people times people need to stop working out or maybe they need to s maybe they're doing so much intense food
stuff that it's like whoa it's not it's not it's not even enjoy you're not even enjoying what you're doing you're just in total vigilance around this and you're in and You're just so stressed out and like maybe it needs to like ease it up a little bit but your body will tell you what you need once you start connecting and the first step is like listening you know when you were talking about working with this woman you were tapping into the unlimited potential of what was possible when people are listening at home and they're thinking
about ways that they Can bring that to themselves if the first part of it is like scanning and noticing the body and honestly connecting let's say they notice that shoulder yeah and that tension that's there and they're letting out a sign a sigh or a sound and feeling into it and doing some of those things how do they begin to incorporate a little part of what you were bringing to The table with her how are they incorporating the vision of like no judgment and just what's completely possible for that region okay so this is something
i'm gonna do i actually uh have a a free whole mini course that i created it does exactly this and it's uh we we produced it beautifully we have like people that are going through the process so people can Can can go along with it um that's on february 17th we're gonna that comes out so people could sign up even now for it but it's a it's like how do you get out of fight or flight and into flow like what are some of the steps just real quick because i know a lot of people

you Can start to do to hold that sense of like unlimited possibility in your consciousness is um you know an lcd screen or or like a you know a tv when you when you when you step away from it you you're a little you're pretty far back and you just you know you see this clear picture you see a whole movie going on but if you were to come up so close to that screen where you're so close to it Where you lose the picture now you just see little pixels of light and energy it's
a an lcd screen is like the same as the body it's a it's a liquid crystal matrix liquid crystal changes configuration when energy moves through it in different ways that's how we see the colors blue and reds and greens it's combinations of electrical current going through and Changing the configuration of this liquid crystal medium which is the lcd screen the same as the body is the same thing so we can like go really close to the body in a way where the story about our body being a certain way is a mental construct the experience
of our body when we go beyond it we zoom in and close enough to get into the pixels of light and energy And information now we're like right in the just the experience of it we could actually now have a have a have a have an experience and so when you touch your body when you approach your body it it it's uh how can you be with your body with curiosity and compassion where you suspend any agenda to make what you're trying to Have happen there be a be a an agenda like um um you
know have an objective for an outcome of like feeling better making this thing go away i bet i could heal myself if i i'm gonna heal myself but i'm gonna do this visualization i'm gonna do this practice and i'm gonna and i'm gonna be able to get out there and and get in the pool and swim or i'm gonna throw the ball or i'm gonna like be able to do yoga again And you have this whole agenda you're already screwed because you're not actually being with the experience of zooming in you're still in a story
about what you want and your body doesn't care what you want uh when it's when it's wanting your attention it i mean your body cares what you want you could direct i mean wim hof right we know you can like you can Then and the tombow monks and all that you could like belt snow around you you could go in freezing cold you can direct your body to operate in certain ways which is an incredible skill but there's another piece too that's also necessary for fulfillment and that's to be able to allow and experience your
body without an agenda and let your body direct to you what you might need to know that you weren't Allowing in because you already know it's like talking to someone who already knows everything it's super annoying because there's no receptivity they're just already planning their next response because they already know so they're speaking already over you it's not a real conversation no no one's listening it's a it's like basically a feedback loop and so the the challenging part for people is That you first sometimes have to step into the awareness of like what feels off
to connect with that part yeah right it's very hard for people to just not think about kind of what feels awful and you could say what feels disconnected because there's no judgment on that yeah sometimes things are in connection sometimes they're not so you gotta step into what feels a Place of disconnection direct energy there but then let go and just really listen for what will show up and if anybody's familiar with like five rhythms and like the dance moves yeah gabriel roth who i had the fortunate pleasure of becoming friends with before she a
couple years before she passed away so much of her work in ecstatic dance you can google it Five rhythms ecstatic dance is actually listening to your body and letting your body tell the rest of it what it wants to do instead of it coming all from the brain into okay what should i do now should i do this should i do that what if we just felt felt into it and saw what happened like one time i was just sort of like feeling into that going back to that decision-making process everything i just was like
you know what i need to Move a little bit i started doing some squats i shook out my hands yeah and then i needed i did whatever needed to be done yeah it could be that simple sometimes totally sometimes it's just moving the body like letting their body express i mean i love gabriel roth's work it was like you know you know like staccato or you would do lyrical you do these different rhythmical patterns Which which just let yourself explore and see what your body wants to do um but my friend julianne who julianne huff
who is right now on tour with oprah and oprah's 2020 vision tour she is doing something that she calls kinergy which is a methodology that uses dance and expression but it's incorporated uh elements of what i do which we work together to help her get the Breathing patterns how they affect consciousness what do these movement patterns do when we move our body and breathe in this way in this in this particular pattern and she's like encoded that into this dance process so people are like moving their bodies through the elements and they're breathing and they're
feeling the earth element in their pelvis and then they're going to the fire in the air and Going into the you know so they're going through this whole process of expressing and what and it just feels like you're doing this dance but it's actually changing consciousness and shifting energy patterns so like this is like getting injected now into the culture like there's more definite um there's more there's definitely when i was in davos i Was talking to one of the um the a woman that that does um unconscious bias training for like huge organizations around
the world and she was like you know we try to take these tools and you know we get these contractors to come in and teach different courses and stuff but oftentimes we're taking the tool and we're trying to like we're trying to give someone a tool to think differently When their conditioning is a visceral physical experience and a lens through which they're in a way judging or or making decisions and snap judgments about the world out there and that's not something you can just teach the conceptual mind which is like a philosopher ken wilbur you
know had who came up who has a brilliant philosopher in all quadrants all levels you know um In brief i think what is one of his books is called um um something a theory of everything or whatever it's very comprehensive but he you know he talks about you can't just teach people like global um consciousness and and unity consciousness and stuff you have to change the very architectures through which that consciousness is experienced because it's not just a concept of the mind you have to feel it through your Heart like you actually feel things in
your heart you feel things through your body and and you can't just um think your way into certain situations or change belief patterns and stuff just with your mind you have to you have to engage with your body so i think um you know we have we have a long we have a long way to go but i feel like there's an Opening there's an interest in like how could energy affect matter how could we like work with this invisible stuff of energy and you know we can accept that a magnet held over something will
move it we don't really question it we're like oh yeah like the magnet is the that's matt it seems like magic it's like how is this metal piece moving around nothing's physically touching it But you do it with the body and the body's moving around we go oh my god it's a exorcism it's uh what is this you know this is fake you know this is like this can't happen but there's something called erogenous zones you know that if somebody blows on your back behind your ear or they stroke the inner thigh or whatever your
whole physiology may have a very rapid change In a good way you know and did anything actually happen in one part of your body to make you know every global system change yeah it's a non-linear system you're driving you look in the rear view mirror you see lights red blue red blue oh shh they're gonna pull me over they're gonna put whole body goes into a vigilance you're ready there's people watching a movie yeah you watch a Movie that's like super intense and you start crying or you feel this or you feel that it's like
that's a version of something that's not touching you yes almost it's a mouth it's a mild form of hypnosis your body has been convinced that this is what's going on that's over here and no different is something interacting with your energy field yeah you know zooming out when you uh because i know you've been Like doing your work for now some time and like really working with incredible people that are out there like gwyneth and tony and other individuals and everyday folks like myself too and other people that out there and when you know the
goop lab was very interesting because you start off the episode by saying this the first time that you've let people film your work And with them filming your work what's your hope for what people's takeaway is from seeing you in your zone doing what you were meant to do my my hope my my desire in doing that was to like show a phenomenon that would spark dialogue and also get people to go hmm something's happening like something is Happening this is this is the scientific method right you you observe and then you come up with
a hypothesis and you start to test and so i would like to see more you know more more research on like the phenomenon happens i mean this is something that is reproducible it happens the body moves energy is released and liberated people feel you know Lighter they feel free or they feel more open they feel more creative like challenges that they're going through kind of sort of seem to fall away they feel possibility again they feel you know in in this energetic flow state they feel like they can kind of do anything and even on
a very like tiny level there was one person a group employee who was going through the experience and you know she had a big release and was Crying you know had some tears when she was in the session and then had shared with the rest of the team for the next few nights like had slept better yeah she had these like episodes of sleep paralysis yes um at night and she said that she wasn't having those and she was just sleeping better so just even on a practical level like the energy flowing better so that
you could just get better at sleep yeah People sleep but she also like violently threw up like later that night for like a few hours and her body was just releasing sometimes the only way we'll make a sound she wasn't making like on the table she was very very like very low key yes right but what was happening internally was this surge of all this stuff was going on and i could feel everything that was Happening but it wasn't expressing strongly through her body but it also wasn't safe for her in that environment to really
allow it to move so fully so she was in she was still she was at work i mean basically right right we did it at the group it's very vulnerable to having a full experience in front of everybody right so sometimes the only way we'll make those sounds and move our body in Those ways is like throwing up right because it's a rhythmical wave like motion that's that's tied into it that's what emotion is sometimes it's diarrhea sometimes it's like you know like the body will find a way to move that energy so sometimes people
do have a if they do have a more a more expressive kind of purging but just like you know i mean you You've been involved in like detox programs and creating clean and you know the work that you've done people will discharge and and and not just energy but chemicals that have been stored in the system toxins that have been stored in the system they start to move and they when emotion starts moving and energy starts moving and the tissues start oscillating and the fascia and the viscera you can have um you know Anesthesia that
was stored still in the body different medications or different drugs that people have done they can start to move into the parasympathetic kicks in and they can start to discharge and that starts to come out of the it starts detoxing and so sometimes the body is so much of a flood that's been energy stored in the periphery and in the tissues and it starts moving back Into your bloodstream it's your body needs to get it out so on occasion you'll have like those those kind of situations where someone just detoxes so there's different ways that
energy is going to move when it releases heat thermal energy movement sound it could be physical detox there's just a lot of ways that the body can just discharge yeah what i think was great about people Getting a chance to see you in the zone and doing your work is that when you vis sometimes for certain people they visually see it now they can actually go in and start to investigate it yeah whereas before if they would hear it from somebody it would just feel like okay what is this you know we are so sort
of skeptical these days and rightly so for sure and then people See it and it's like okay what else is there what are the other messages like to me if there's one takeaway for people from this podcast it's besides the check-in the four-step method of checking in which is just awesome it's this idea of what are the subtle your body is constantly communicating to you energy is constantly communicating you even from a grander Sense i tell people you know to pull a quote from like deepak chopra and other individuals they're out there like the universe
is constantly conspiring for your greater good it's wanting the intersection of things to happen people to meet circumstances to be there so just on a body level what is your body just communicating if you're just sitting right now you're listening to Podcasts you're walking you're driving you're out somewhere you're at home cleaning what messages are you just getting from your body if you just listen yeah and you would pay attention would it say take the morning off or take the afternoon off or pick up the phone or address the situation or just hold yourself right
it's been a tough week just go Internal and just kind of like lay down and be there for yourself like what messages is your body sharing with you because when we ignore those messages over years and years and years and years and years that's when they really start to show up as physical disease inside the body and notice too even when you said that drew like hold yourself and it's a very like tender compassionate but you're like Notice did that was that was that a charge in your in your being are you like oh i'm
gonna hold myself right i'm gonna i'm gonna lay at home and hold myself you know and and uh well what do you need to have happen in order for you to give your body that attention and i've had like entrepreneurs that are running huge companies literally laid out can't move because the back their back like quote Unquote went out they can't function and they're laying on their back you know on the floor with their legs propped up on the thing because they literally can't move and they're like on their computer like doing all their business
it's like the body's screaming at you like look you need to connect and check in and they're still trying to drive and push it through you know so it's like Yes what if you just gave your body that honor and and recognize this the the kind of the attention that it's asking for ask touch different places and if you don't if you're like this is like a foreign language i don't understand what my body's telling me it's just like i know i touch my body and it feels like physical stuff then acknowledge that and be
like oh okay i guess i'm disconnected Because that's what it feels like when you touch your body and you don't feel any it's like hugging someone that doesn't want to hug you back and they don't give you any energy and they're just like the little pat thing and you know and they're just like they're this they're they're locked and there's no engagement that if you're touching your own body and your body's not receiving you you can't Have a relationship with your own body but like have a tender relationship you're disconnected because that we have to
be intimate with ourselves first we have to actually have this like relationship maybe you just need to find where does it feel good in your body we're talking about disconnected areas and where there's pain or tension but like where does it feel good like can you touch somewhere in your body that Feels good like i've had people in trauma stress mode they were so dissociated from their body because they had let's say they had some abuse or something they learned to just leave their body and we we found that the only place that they felt
connected was like holding their ear lobes and when they touched there they were like ah relax or like crossing their Arms in front of their chest or holding their arms like over the solar plexus or putting their arms their hands on their legs somewhere where they they felt themselves kind of come down and into their body so it isn't always about just finding where am i disconnected sometimes it's like how do you let's just find a way to connect first and so where is it easy to touch your body Where can you breathe into easily
where can you hold your hands and just touch your body and feel like okay i can actually and then you might be like oh so you might even get emotional or you might just feel like oh i've been pushing myself so hard i just need to delay or now i finally because you you finally let your body communicate to you but you you do it by getting rapport with yourself just like You get rapport with the person you know be cool to yourself be be kind to yourself be you know it's like i can't tell
you how many times people come in and they're just like you know this freaking shoulder i just want you to you know fix this if we get rid of this thing i'll just rip it out i'm ready to get a shoulder replacement i'm stuck you know it's like so so much animosity because The the body seems to be taking you away from your agenda but i can guarantee you if you like tune into it and listen to it and really be with it it will take you on a different trajectory than your mind thought you
