[Music] from the GetGo Roger never lacked enthusiasm on the job not even when it got him fired from the narcotics Squad at age one for being the drug sniffing dog that was too happy basically he wanted to play all the time oh so everyone has a different definition of what makes a good dog says trainer John Lee who recruited Roger positive energy for search and rescue work that first setback Unleashed Roger on a whole new career path now at age8 he's a search and rescue Legend and Local Hero and always up for a task so
here's a test I'm going to climb into this hole to see if Roger can find [Music] me hi thank you thank you what a good boy Roger was called to duty earlier this year when a deadly 7.4 magnitude earthquake hit Eastern Taiwan for Days Roger and his teammates including a terrier named Wilson sniffed and clawed at Rubble in the mountains to find victims trapped by landslides he showed no fear or reluctance he says he's truly an outstanding search and rescue dog Roger really leapt to Fame after his Chomp on reporters microphones went viral then he
shredded the toy given to him by the local mayor soon the tale of Roger the dog was all over the Internet gong's fire department has 11 search and rescue dogs here most of them young and still in training some dogs sneeze maybe two or 3 years and soundy to 5 years it makes Roger a veteran and according to fire department age rules he's getting ready for retirement Roger after seven missions over his career defying all that stuff about old dogs and new tricks and always ready for a reward how long should I let him bark
