you know the words help me out here oh beautiful for spaceous skies for amber waves of grain for Purple Mountain majesties above the fruit PL [Applause] all right so get this everyone Carrie Underwood yep the country music Superstar we all know and like some of us totally love um she's diving head first into something well pretty wild you see Carrie made the Bold move to perform at Donald Trump's inauguration and uh you can just imagine the Meltdown that followed right critics they came in hot like Angry bees especially from the view now she's not just
sitting back and taking it nope she's suing the hosts for defamation yeah she's that serious about her freedom of speech you got to admit it's like one heck of a showdown between the music world and broadcast media by the way if you're as intrigued as I am about how this will all shake out do me a solid hit that subscribe button come on do it it'll totally make my day plus you'll help me smash that 10,000 subscriber goal by March so go on and subscribe and never miss out on mindblowing updates like this all right
so let's talk about this bold move by Carrie Underwood I mean how do you how do you even process this performing at Donald Trump's inauguration was a decision that uh like totally shocked many of her fans and stirred up a storm of controversy Superstar Carrie Underwoods has spent most of her career avoiding political talk but she's said to perform at the upcoming inauguration she said in a statement that she's doing it because the country must come together in the spirit of unity and look to the Future and lots of her fans aren't thrilled about it
but lots of her fans are so let's let's put this in perspective here what do y'all think I personally hope we're moving beyond the era of politics where we want to cancel people's livelihoods because we don't like their politics and whether it was the Dixie Chicks for criticizing George Bush didn't agree with it then and Carrie Underwood if you have a problem you register your complaint by not downloading her songs and not going to her shows right but I also think from a bus standpoint it's not a bad decision for K Underwood 75 million people
voted for Trump artists tend to skew left leaning so she's overnight going to become an icon of Maga in the American right she's probably going to make a lot of money off of it so I get why she did it I say so kind of Brave right well not everyone thought so I don't think so but then you pushed her and she said yeah I guess I am well I said to her do you believe that women should make the same amount of money as men well I guess I am a family and she said
I guess I am a feminist so I I think people feel pretty strongly about it I I I think art is Art and and you know you have a right to perform uh where you want to perform I agree with you Joy I can't sing a lick but I certainly and I have not been asked but if I were asked it would be a hard no well they wouldn't ask me so I have no nothing they're not asking any of us now Carrie has always been someone who you know mainly keeps her personal views out
of the spotlight but this time her decision thrust her right into the heart of political discussions the backlash it's been um seriously intense so shortly after she announced her performance social media just kind of exploded many pointed fingers accusing her of aligning with Trump's policies which let's be honest are um pretty divisive critics especially from the left were just not having it but on the flip side some of her supporters applauded her C to look Beyond politics and focus on her love for the country country mus I'll tell you right now I wouldn't do it
even though I can't sing you would not sing no I would not I would not normalize him and she says I love our country how do you love your country and support and normalize somebody who was a convicted fell who really wants to destroy the country in my opinion I don't understand how you say you love your country at the same time as you normalize this convicted felon which I can say now every day a lot of my family voted for Trump they love the country and vot for him I think that people make these
decisions for a lot of Reon okay fine and I would not be the person to say don't do it cuz I believe in free speech and everything about it I personally would not do it no one's asked me but that's another story I would love for you to do a roast at the Trump inauguration okay no one knows in the midst of all this noise the hosts of The View decided to chime in with what they saw as basically defending democracy Joy bear for instance went on air questioning car's motives and her patriotism can you
believe that and people were like uh wow that kind of rhetoric has consequences and then Carrie in a rather unheard of move said no more and um chose to sue for defamation now the views comments were seen by some as crossing the line from you know criticism to personal attacks they like really went after her values and intentions which is no small thing so what impact did this have on Carrie well to be honest this situation it's it's like a double-edged sword on one hand some fans were turned off and the whole thing painted her
as sort of a political figure which she's like never claimed to be on the other hand it showcased her willingness to stand up not only for herself but also kind of for what she believes in freedom of expression but let's not forget the impact on her career This legal battle has definitely stirred the pot Within the Music Industry have scheduled a spa day I'm not even going to tell you what I'm doing not no I'm not talking I'm not telling no because we it was it was always in the books who knew this was going
to be the day that he chose because it's a it's it's also a very interesting uh day right the 21 junor birthday yeah yeah wow yeah and you can choose to celebrate it how you want you can honor MLK I'm going to honor him and at well as long as long as it's a free country and it holds I would agree with everybody it is a free country at the moment well yeah you know but it's up to us to make sure that doesn't start to change right you know that's we're trying well we're trying
yes and it's important not to forget that we have that right it is up to us yeah now there are other people performing too and I don't really even want to bring it up everyone's talking is this kind of setting a new precedent for how artists mix politics and art well I guess it could artists nowadays have um the platform to influence societal norms and even reshape political discourse maybe without even realizing it the lawsuit it's not just a technicality it raises questions about like the limits of speech and defamation in public discussions it's like
Carri is saying I won't just sit here and be an easy target it's pretty well gutsy her decision is sparking a debate about how far media criticism should go before it becomes harmful defamation all right now here's where where things um get even more interesting in the world of country music where car's seen as like almost royalty things took an unexpected turn fellow country artists some like her and some who don't always voice their political leanings began showing support John Rich for one a pretty influential name praised car's Poise Under Pressure that kind of endorsement
is huge and might um even shift the tide in how the music Community reacts to political dramas but wait there's more the ripple effect it's led to a spirited debate not only among musicians but also among fans and in broader Society is it kind of acceptable for artists to lose opportunities or face backlash because of political viewpoints many argue this whole thing is less about who Cary chose to perform for and more about the principle freedom to express through ART there's this sense that maybe the media needs to navigate these conversations with more care ensuring
they're fostering healthy discussion and not just divisive rhetoric it's like at the end of the day the media has a pretty big role in shaping narratives what they say can influence public perception so where does this leave us or more importantly Carrie she's in uh an unusual Spotlight now her resilience how she stood firm despite all the criticism could Inspire others to be brave about standing up for their convictions or it could make some you know second guest taking a stand in their art it's kind of fascinating how one performance can spiral into such a
controversy drawing attention to broader issues like Freedom expression and responsibility whether or not you agree with her actions you can't deny car's bold move hasn't just sparked dialogue it's possibly setting new standards for artistic freedom and accountability so guys watching all this unfold I'd love to hear your thoughts do you think car's legal action is Justified or do you believe the view hosts you know have a point let's dive into the comments and see what you all think
