Get rid of any salt or grime that could damage the paint. Wash and buff to protect the paint. Clean inside boat seats and carpet to ensure stains don't set while in long-term storage .
Step two: replenish fluids in your boat. Refresh all fluids, especially fuel and oil and run antifreeze and a fuel stabilizer through your boat. Step 3: remove your boat's battery.

Step 1: clean the exterior. Remove all gear from storage spaces under seats. Wash the whole thoroughly.

Step 4: Remove the battery and consider hooking it up to a trickle charger over the winter. Step 5: change the oil and possibly the oil filter too. Step 6: add a cover.
