hey everybody my name is J and you are watching plasma Channel today you're in for a historic gem science is a continually evolving process of finding truth and for decades there's been a certain faction of science and scientists who have been dedicated to proving that both plants and humans have an aura in particular the good old 70s brought us the infamous phantom leaf experiment it was controversial and the results were inconclusive but one thing's for sure is I think I know how they did it [Music] what if I told you that plants have a biological
field and this biological field contains the blueprints for all of the physical information about that plant you can cut a leaf in half but that half of the leaf isn't actually gone this is the basis of the phantom leaf experiment now the method used to visualize this biological field of things such as plants is called Kirlian photography which you might be familiar with if you watched my last video but basically Kirlian photography is a really groovy way of creating images or a video of any conductive object using high-voltage Corona and make no mistake it's absolutely
gorgeous but it's pure physics so let's just hop right in and make the infamous phantom leaf I've got two leaves the try one from a vine and one from a tree and they'll both get equal treatment I'll be using the same curling setup that I used in my last video and the same 20,000 volt power source and according to a few studies that I read cutting off about 30% the leaf provides you with the optimum results for the phantom leaf I'll go ahead and link those studies down below but let's go ahead and start out
by doing Kirlian photography of the whole leaves the first contender is an ivy leaf I think placing it in the Kirlian setup and turning on the power this is what you see [Music] that's pretty incredible right that's pretty standard Kirlian photography but now I'm gonna go ahead and snip off about 30% of the leaf and the Kirlian photography should reveal the biological field still there [Music] I didn't see a phantom image on that one but that was just a single try there's nothing scientific about a single attempt so I'll try it again on another leaf
this guy is from a tree and just like before let's image the entire leaf first [Music] so that's the baseline and now let's cut off about 30% so obviously the results aren't that great I'm gonna give it one last try and cut the leaf in half lengthwise if you haven't picked up on it by now I'm trying to make a point if you saw any of those quick phantom flashes in the previous clips that is called a double exposure double exposures are a photography trick which have existed since the mid 1800s basically you overlay one
photo or video on top of another give them identical composition except for the object that you want double exposed and bam Kulik and photo or video a great example of this double exposure technique is Tesla's famous Colorado Springs picture he didn't actually sit that close to the operating Tesla coil that was just a double exposed image and don't get me wrong Tesla's still a god but the picture was doctored and another example of a double exposure as I mentioned earlier is the Phantom leaf experiment now I'm not attacking those who believe that plants or humans
have an aura I'm just saying that Kirlian photography does not reveal some hidden biological field contained within a plant [Music] thanks for stopping by and don't forget to share like and subscribe to plasma channel check us out on other social media and feel free to check out our various other episodes with science every two weeks you stay classy you
