[Music] hi welcome back this section title is getting sites out to market quickly with site templates let's go ahead and get started first we will go over what are site templates now if you look at the screen you can see that site templates are predefined sets of pages layouts widgets and content new site templates can be created if you navigate to the control panel sites and then site templates there are two default templates that you can go off of to get started you will see the intranet site and the community site new sites created from
a site template have all the pages and widgets that were added in the site template site templates are helpful in the case of a company that has a lot of content that they would like to add to a page and if they would like to spread that content across multiple pages they can go ahead and create this template that we've been talking about for that in order to efficiently group the content in a clear way for the users how is this used to generate sites so a site created from a site template will have the
same pages widgets and content as the template after the site is created from the site template site administrators and developers can add new pages widgets and content to the site as necessary so they would be going off of what was already added by the site template and kind of customizing that after the fact the way liferay works using site templates is you can enable the propagation of the changes so enabling this propagation from the site template would link the site to the site template which would ensure all changes made to the template are reflected in
the site in addition pages added to the site created from a site template are unaffected by the changes that were propagated from the site template in order to make changes to the site template pages you can change the template from the control panel as we mentioned earlier well now we've reached the knowledge check so if you would like to go ahead and pause your screen and fill out the answers and we can recap on the next slide first bullet point is site templates can be created to pre-define page set widgets configuration and even content to
rapidly generate new sites turn on the enable propagation of changes from the site template option in order to inherit changes from the template to site pages inherited changes from a page template locks down the page from configuration changes while inherited changes from a site template still allows administrative flexibility [Music] you
