hello um this video is going to be about cubing knowledge like how much is cubing knowledge worth um the reason why I'm making this is well it's been a while since I've checked cubing YouTube in general like that landscape and boy has so many things changed um Cubehead what he's selling cubing. gg um I've heard about it for a while never checked it out but wow wow it was expensive so um I understand that this whole conversation controversy has already been talked about but what I'm going to be doing talking about is how much is cubing knowledge worth what Cubad has done is he's gotten this information and he it's about PL PL algorithms um how to get better at them finger tricks and everything about that same with O i understand that F2L is very difficult and hard so it's not a it's not like PL and oh and this case easy no there's a million steps to get there f2l and example solves as well i believe also he's done also talks about Xcross just COP in general and he's selling that for what 95 quid for information personally I wouldn't buy this um however this is probably targeted for somebody who is serious about cubing whatever that means and who understands that this is almost like an investment that buying this can get to a very a certain level perhaps sub 10 sub 9 sub 8 sub 7 and by that point then they can start making money out of it which will pay off the 95 quid I'm guessing value however is it worth it is it worth it paying 95 quid for pl algorithms where you can search that online for free speed cube dv Oh well speed cube DB F2L there's a lot of videos out there and cross lots of videos out there example solves a lot of videos out there soft critiques a lot of videos out there the point is how much if you were going to sell it how much would it be worth now I understand why Cubehead would make something like this it's all about like I've seen this before for anybody who's delved into like chess or other minuscule hobbies that are similar to cubing not like physical sports but chess and so on and so forth you get similar kind of repackaging information in a way that's easy so that you don't have to delve into YouTube and search like a million videos just to find couple useful 95 quid however is you have to convince me a lot and information like this repackaged in a way I mean how can you repackage C4 better I mean with I have this PDF here that I've printed out um from the speed cube DB site and it's just a bunch of zel stuff and if you can't read notation I don't know I mean that's pretty simple enough Sorry recognition finger tricks i mean with ZBL alone Max Shaw has some incredible videos i know Brian's son is making some incredible videos there are fast YouTubers really good videos on recognition finger tricks advice on ZBLL and I mean you've got to think where did they get their information from they most likely didn't pay for it same with like PLL and O there's a site I think it's Sarah's um site Sarah's cubing site yeah has some incredible advice on there for CP recognition DAX CP adjacent CP and really goes through like tells you how to do it one by one and it's not just uh I mean yeah Sarah's cubite 5x5 she has what l2c yeah quite a lot and this isn't the only this isn't the only website i mean there's so many websites even Felix has his own website that just give out information for free and I think this monetization is a bit late into the game this monetiz monetization of cubing because it's gone to a point now where there's so much free stuff online that the only thing that can be monetized is well again the PDF resources I guess the very few people that would buy it um but I think for monetization if someone was to make money out of cubing the best ways would probably be through tutoring courses and or personal tutoring sessions where uh what is it going through your like strengths and weaknesses um the site I'm looking at is of course cubing. gg [Music] and well let's just say um looking at them the pricing you'd really have to convince me now I don't have a stable income i'm not the richest man in the world so there's probably people out there that have a stable income and is willing to spend money on the sport and the hobby however what is this 3x3 cubing session 80 quid for a 60-minute session fine just the more expensive side of it let's see so you pay keeping session 30 minutes 55 quid um 30 minutes i mean what 10 minutes or 5 minutes you're going to be talking some what 15 minutes you're going to be looking at the souls and then what then you have 10 minutes just to see your weaknesses and how to get better at them of course there's different price points um community.
gg GG isn't the only C coaching service i know cubers who offer 20 quid per session um an hour two hours 30 quid 40 quid and there's a whole different price range for it and it appears to be ranked well priced deter based on how much you average if you average 7 seconds 6 seconds 5 seconds 8 seconds i guess what I'm trying to say is is that there'll always be a free alternative to anything however it's always a balance like for example football is the easiest easiest example you can search on YouTube free advice but that will only get you so far i think in terms of how much free stuff there is depends versus how much there is behind that pay is a lot with cubing however how I see it beyond sub 10 there isn't much but I think beyond sub 10 after you've semi mastered look ahead and first pair inspection and you've maybe know some CL some like CP recognition maybe a little bit of ZBL and cross you're doing some X crosses as well at that point you're kind of smart enough I guess to just look at yourselves and see huh this is what I need to improve on maybe you can just like film yourself and say "Huh this the cross took 1. 3 seconds. " Well there's a rule out there that says the cross should take 10% of your solve and well if you're averaging 9 seconds cross should take 0.
9 seconds and if it's taking 1. 3 seconds that's definitely something I I should improve on boom that's how you improve maybe at like averaging like sub seven maybe if you want to be world class this will be something worth it however how much is information worth depends perspection value if you're doing let's say 8 seconds and you're at that plateau and you're like "Okay if I go fast now that's when I can make serious money from YouTube sponsorships. " So that will kind of pay off that then will be worth it however if you're averaging 15 seconds 20 seconds and you think this will get you all the way to like 10 seconds you've got to think unless you truly enjoy it some people are willing to spend like money on their hobby because they have a stable income you've also got to think too that these cubers cubing isn't a sport that you can really make too much of an income yet i think that in the future with the formation of the speed the super cubing league whatever it is money can be earned enough spectators and with the right setting up the WCA can do something really amazing and can make the sport profitable through entertainment through cubing entertainers or just cubing well cubers being good however there's I forgot what the term was in business there's something called um like what makes you stand out what makes you stand out as a business that other businesses can't replicate as easily or as good and free resources cannot match with Cube heads um packages i'm sorry um spending 95 quid for just an ounce more convenience for me not worth it you can go ahead buy it i won't call you stupid i can understand why someone would buy it at the end of the day though at the end of the day though 95 quid is a lot i would rather spend that on a what the Super Way long now whether gang cube maybe however the courses coaches I can see someone use it even though you can get better without it i think this would kind of almost motivate you to progress more and kind of prevent you from wasting time um sometimes like I remember when I was averaging 13 seconds I knew that look ahead was good for me and that I needed to learn look ahead but I just could not be bothered i just could not be bothered to sit down and actively slow solve and um I was even trying stuff like metronome and so boring i think that kind of ruined it for me um this was back when metronome was uh people were advising you to use metronome coaching courses can be good i think that personalized tutoring is something that even from per Cuba to Cuba like tutor to tutor you cannot replicate especially between like different time ranges like someone who averages 6 seconds and 8 seconds between them a whole world of difference however even then you've got to argue price is it worth it a 30 minute session for 55 quid you've got to weigh that out for yourself um I think for me if I was to make this worth it I would either have to have a stable income because I like cubing as a hobby um or I'd have to look at this almost like an investment opportunity that okay this person averages 6 seconds i'm going to go get advice from him and then I can use that advice to get much better much faster as well so then after a while I can make income from that that's how I would see it maybe I'm different some people probably just would like to spend 55 quid just to get better because maybe they enjoy the hobby i mean hobbies are one of those things that you can't really tell people to do this or that because they just like it that's the point of a hobby just like it so maybe at the end of the day doing this buying isn't really a problem maybe we should just let cube ahead let cube cubing g.
